I am Brian. Hello, Roger. Are you saying hello to yourself? I'm saying hello to everybody that's. Listening, dammit.

Alright, how you doing, Misty? Say your name. It's Marlena. What was that again? Hello, myself.

I don't have my opening line down yet, people. Give me a break. And that was Misty. I think you got lost in there. Yeah, it's me.

Hey, how's it going? It's Misty. Oh, Lord. So, yeah, as usual, we're batting the thousand here. Darvis says this morning what do you want i mean.

Nice words lucky it's a whole handful they. Were pink they match my. Hair oh my god oh lord. It's yeah just say no a little bit all righty i guess uh we can roll into this week's geek activities which they're they're quite a bit actually well we're sort of backed up we got a two-week span there to work with so um another day in the way and all Yeah, so we're playing catch-up a little bit. But, yeah, there was quite a bit in the last couple of days.

I guess I'll throw out the only thing I watched was actually Leftover from a week before last. I did finally watch Zack and Miri Make a Porno. How'd you like it? I thought it was funny. That was funny.

That was. Yeah, I'll get to how I felt about it in a minute. But first, Misty, you need to watch this. Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying. Wait, you've not seen it?

I've never seen this movie. Why have you not seen it? Because you were like all over Jason Mewes' nutsack. And you see that and everything else in this damn movie. You get all kinds of naked Jason Mewes in this movie.

You get corn. So far I can't convince Jay to watch it. Oh man. That's because he's secretly excited that he wants to see it, but he doesn't want to let on that he wants. To see it.

Yeah, now that he's not here to defend himself. Oh, whatever. I'd say it if he's sitting right there. Yeah, you would, actually. Yeah.

That doesn't stop me. You're actually awake, so I'm kind of surprised so far. Yeah. Because I took five Adderall. How about that?

Took a handful of Adderall. Neener, neener, neener. Welcome to the movie Drugcast. We're loaded. I had a mountain, dude.

Does that count? Oh, sir. Oh, so yeah, as far as actually the movie itself, I was kind of surprised. I really ended up liking it. Like, I'd heard decent things about it, but it's probably the most enjoyable movie of his, or the most well-made movie of his, maybe since Chasing Amy.

Like, it's at least up there. I still kind of like Dogma more than most people, so it's probably right around. That level at The last couple... The Morats, I'll tell you. Yeah, well...

I don't know about. That, but. Morats kicked ass. I mean. Jason Lee kicked ass.

Yeah, exactly. But he carried that movie. London brought it. Down because he's a London. Because he's a London.

They suck the life out of stuff. Of every movie they've ever touched. I like Dazed and Confused. Yeah, but think how awesome it would be without a London in it. He was like the main character of the movie.

I know. I can pretend he wasn't. Wasn't he in Jason and the Argonauts or something like that? Or. Like one of those made for cable ones, I think.

Or no, it was a. It was a sci-fi. Original, wasn't it? Oh, jeez. TNT made or something.

Yeah. Oh, Lord. So, yeah, he needs to stop. But I really ended up liking Elizabeth Banks, too. She's hot.

She's gorgeous. I have not been. I mean, she's attractive and whatever. But I've never been on board for her. Yeah, I've never paid that much attention to her.

It's something about her in this movie. Like, she's just really likable and dorky. And it kind of wins you over if you're on the fence with her. Definitely. I think we'll actually do it for anybody who's a geek anyway because it's such a geek-friendly movie.

I mean, they do nothing but go out of their way to embrace the Kevin Smith fans who are complete and utter geeks. Yeah, it definitely works on that level. But I liked it more than I thought I would. I kind of feel like Justin Long made that movie for me. That's because you love gay porn.

You do. Justin Long, oh, dude, his gay character is hilarious. I can't even remember his name. Yeah, I don't remember his name. I didn't even know he was in it until I was like, oh, shit, Justin Long.

He is funny. He is quite over the top. His voice. More like bend me over whatever like the name when he's talking about the dames of the movies he's in i was like oh really what movies you in like you know this well more like i like the. Voices the voice studies i will it's on our netflix list i'll have to bump it to the top yeah.

It's good it's definitely worth a watch watch it when jay leaves the house or something there just needed to be of course and i wanted there to be nudity in it besides besides jace what i got you know. But Oh, well. Yeah. I mean, for something about porn, it really is relatively light in that area. I mean, the big scene is really.

And it is. That's how you know, I mean, Kevin Smith is such a sap. Because, I mean, that big scene between them in the middle of making a porn... is actually like kind of sweet and i'm like no wow it's like it really is but it's like you don't they're so busy selling his usual dick and fart jokes that it's like that you really it does still kind of catch you off guard because it's so. Overwhelmingly you know laced with obscenities. And his usual gutter humor and then like there's such a sappy core to it that he's kind of gotten away from since chasing amy he's really sort of straight from that and it's kind of i think he's good at that i think you know skip this cop out bullshit and yeah get back to what he does best even though i mean he doesn't get financial support when he does it but oh well i think that's like his strength.

Really so he should go back to that yeah that's just me. So that was pretty much all i well that's not true i've watched a lot but i'm gonna go into the other ones in other aspects later so i won't elaborate on the rest but um Friday night, this past weekend, I did go see The Empire's Play, which, you know. Oh, was that one man, 37 characters? No, no. If you don't know them in any other capacity, if you're listening to this show, you'll know them as the band who provides us with our kick-ass intro theme, so...

And the lead singer has. The prettiest eyes. Oh, is he dreamy? He's so dreamy. He is pretty cute.

I told him he was dreamy. What do you mean? Oh, that's hot. No, I did get to hang out with him before the show, and that was cool because we haven't actually seen him in person since the car show last year. Oh, nice.

I had to sit next to him. I was distracted because he had pretty eyes. Where's Jay during this? Would you be saying this if Jay was sitting here? I think he did, actually.

On the other side of here. You're like, here, here, and you dump Jay out of his chair, and you're like, you can sit here. Oh, wow. You do have two arms, Misty. You need one on this arm and one on this arm.

It's been ain't easy, but it sure is. Assemble your stable of studs. Hell yeah. Oh, wow. So, yeah, before the show, I got to hang out with him.

Marlena showed up at that point, and they played, and they rocked, and that was cool. So you should go see him if they come through your town. But after that, I entered into my usual mode when I'm out in the world, which I believe, according to Marlena, I looked miserable. I shunned the world and looked very unhappy. Yes, I did.

Do you have any other comments on the evening? Um. Yeah, the two bands that played in between. Yeah, pretty much. But Bermondsey Joyriders, they were okay, but they played Runnin' Riot, and I was really excited, and I think I was the only person.

Like, woo, Runnin' Riot, yeah! And everybody else was like, I don't know. What's going on. Which makes me wonder why they're there, you know? I don't know.

I kind of wondered that once the crowd got in there, because it was a pretty light crowd, and I kind of felt bad, because they came from, like, England. Yeah. That's a long drive, dude, to get to here, and there's, like, 12 people in the audience. I felt bad for you. But, I mean, like, they build it.

I wasn't able to listen to their music before the show. So I didn't really know what I was in for. But the band had ex-members of Coxbar and Chelsea, so I kind of figured they'd be, like, old-school rock and roll punk kind of stuff. But they were more, like, just old-school rock and roll. Yeah.

I at least gave them credit. I believed what they were selling. They were old school rock and roll, but they were really old. These were old guys. They were sitting at the table beforehand with the merchandise and I was like, who are these dudes?

They're like 60s. It's a band, man. They were. They did play. They kicked ass.

They were still old dudes that know how to rock. As much as people like to. Give shit to people who get old and still continue to play like the Rolling Stones. I'm like, you know what? If they can keep doing it.

Who cares? Think about it. That's all you've done your life. Just because you get older, you're going to stop and do what? I don't think they've been a band for very long.

I don't know much about them. Oh, this version? Yeah. Like, I don't think they've been a band since, like, the 70s or anything. Just in general, though, anytime people are old and they play rock and roll, people like to give them shit.

I'm just like, who cares? I'm going to kick ass because you're still fucking doing it. Yeah. Right on. You can do it.

Do it. I mean, unless you've got walkers and... I mean, that would be, like, geriatric. That's when it's like, come on now. That happens sometimes.

Even then, that would be a theme band right there. Yeah, definitely. Come wheeling out in wheelchairs and shit. It's like. watching Iggy Pop play. Oh, God, that pool.

He still runs around. He's crazy. He needs to keep his shirt on, though. Yeah, but he won't. Nobody needs to see that shit.

That ain't gonna happen. I wonder how many days of his life he's actually worn a shirt. Like, maybe you can assemble it into, like, two weeks of his whole life he's actually worn a shirt. He only owns two shirts. Yeah, really.

Look at my chest. Oh, Lord. So I guess we can get back to your stuff. We're sort of intertwining some of these stories. It's a big mess.

We'll get back to yours, I guess, if you have any more. Then yesterday, Misty and I made our annual visit to Wonderfest. It's been many, many years. Sorry I missed it. I would have liked to have gone.

Yeah, we decided on probably the ninth one at least we went to. My mom's been married for eight years now. That's how I remember, since I made her postpone her wedding so that. I could meet George Romero. That's so awesome.

And we went at least a year before that, so yeah, I decided it's been at least nine years. It's been at least nine trips there, and I think I've been a few before that. So yeah, it's... It's quite a festive ordeal. I don't know.

Good costumes? No. Not that many. We're slacking this year. It was kind of low-key this year.

Like, even the crowd. A handful of stormtroopers. Which, I mean, in the past, I think we found out, like... were almost, like, they were all connected to LucasArts. Like, I don't know if somebody, like, issues them to these kind of shows or something. Because remember, they wouldn't even, like, take a picture with us.

They didn't like what we were doing. They couldn't let our cheesy... picture that we were trying to take uh sully the fine name of the stormtroopers and george lucas it was really weird yeah like they really would not let us do that because they were afraid they wouldn't get the suits back for the next show or something weird. Dude you're gonna lose it for me get away i know. There were no obese darth vaders or princess leia's well that's. No fun hmm that that's not a show really then there was no princess leia's they'll.

Make up for that later though i'll get to another story that you missed out on thankfully. But um if nothing else we we got there and it's you know it's a geek festival in and of itself but once we got there not that she is in every day of her life but misty was a superstar. I was a superstar People love my geek tattoo. Two people took pictures of it. Oh, my God.

I know. One of them was the booth where I originally got the temporary tattoo in the first place because they did the art. Well, the guy who wasn't there did the art. The guy who was there did the art for the other tattoo that I didn't get. So, yeah, good times.

Brian, how'd you get her ego out of the room? It was actually kind of funny, though, because that's good. But that's most dangerous. Yeah, it is. But it was kind of funny.

That's funny. I told her yesterday, I was like, any other day of the year, people's reaction is going to be, that's not real, is it? You're going to get nothing but horror at the thought of having a super geek tattoo on your arm. When you walk in there, you're like a queen. Because not only do you have a Star Trek tattoo, you're a girl with a Star Trek tattoo.

The look on the guy's face when he tried to hand me the temporary tattoo, I'm like, no, I already got one. And he looked at it, and he's like. Oh, really? Is that real? Oh, my God.

Is that real? Like, you've really got that? Oh, my God. Bob's going to make Bob's day right there. That's hilarious.

It was made. It was made. Awesome. So, yeah. Oh, yeah.

So, that was quite entertaining watching the end. And a Japanese guy wanted to take my picture in very broken English. Nice. That's cute. Japanese people want to take pictures of everything.

He had a sticker on his forehead. Yeah, he had a price tag sticker on his forehead. That's Japanese for you. Decent price. Yeah.

Do you have enough Asians in your house? Yeah. So, yeah, there was some pointing to a camera. Picture? It's cute.

It's cute. Yeah. They were fun. I like those guys. Going international.

Oh, man. But, yeah, so do we want to run down all the highlights? I'm apparently supposed to talk about Leanna Quigley and her waxy face. She looked like a bad wax dummy. And she reminded me of one of those dolls my mom had in the attic with the hair where you pull it and you wind her arm back up and her hair pulls back in.

What? That sounds freaking crazy. She had this big mass of fake hair on the back of her head. Like one of those, I don't know what they're called. Like a beehive kind of?

No, it was just like one of those rubber bands that you wrap around your head. It had like the. Hair braid sticker on it. Oh my god, okay. If I don't pull it, will it just make her hair longer and can I wind it back up with her arm?

Will it make that noise, too? Because my cousin had one and I used to love to just yank it out every time because it goes, and it. Just makes this noise like. You're actually tearing her hair out of her head. So wait, wait, wait.

Let me just kind of diverge. So the point of this doll is you cut the doll's hair and then it grows back? Or does it talk when you pull it? No, you pull its hair out so it has long hair. Okay.

And they can do like fancy braids. It pulls the hair. Back into its head. I'm beginning to think that's all she has in there is wound up hair because she was just a train wreck. And she was just frightening.

What would I know her from? Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Tons of stuff. She looked like she'd.

Done Return from the Living Dead and she failed. Reckon this. She just crawled out of the hole. She's just, yikes. You're welcome, Randy.

Yeah, basically, that was for you, Randy, because at the horror home before last, when she was there, he specifically made a request that he wanted Misty to just, like, stand there and talk about Lena Quigley. So I told her yesterday, I was like, oh, there she is. You're supposed to give them a whole little rundown. I don't think I paid any attention. Last time I saw her, because it was at a whorehound, it was just a train wreck and you couldn't walk around.

I didn't see her. I don't remember she. No, she wasn't at the last one. She was at the one in Cincy that I was at. I wasn't at that one.

That's what I'm talking about. That's why you didn't get a chance to talk about her that time. So we made up for it yesterday, obviously. I made more better fun of her yesterday. More better fun of her yesterday.

I think you missed it. Yes. Oh, yeah. I think. Yeah, I think you just walked by and went, shiny.

Nice. She was shiny, but not in a good way. Like I said. Bad wax dummy. I mean, I don't understand.

Like, her face just, like. Too much makeup. Glazed. It's like you go to a wax museum and their face has this weird, shiny, like, donut look to it. Yeah, it's glazed.

I had donuts this morning for breakfast, too, so I thought for a while I ate my donuts. That's gross. Oh, my God. Not in that way. Just because they're both glazy and cheap.

Anyways, then we saw Lou Ferrigno, and he had big shoes. I don't. Know what that means, right? He has big feet. Yes, he does.

He was tall. He's a big man. Imagine if he were, like, size 9. Have you seen? He's, like, ginormous.

I heard that he's kind of a jerk in real life. Is he approachable? Did you all try? I've heard stories like that, but no, I just. I mean, I can understand anybody at any given time could just be the wrong person.

Yeah. They did try to stop a chick from going into the men's room, and it was a dude after all. Oh, who? Lou Ferrigno did? Yeah.

This was pretty awesome, actually. That's so fucking awesome. I'm walking down the hallway. I'm walking down the hallway and we're getting ready to go in the other bathroom so we stop in the hallway and i see this this character walk past and i was just like my reaction wasn't even like male or. Female i was just i was just like surprised i didn't know what it was i didn't really care what it was i didn't question what it was i was just like that's unattractive whatever gender you are that is unattractive.

I'm sorry. So yeah, that's what it felt like. They were wearing some sort of weird. Cowboy hat and this horrible piece together outfit. They almost looked like they were.

Homeless really and they just wandered in. So yeah, I didn't pay attention to what it was. I just saw it walk past and I saw a lot of things that walked past and I had that reaction. So I didn't really pay that much attention. But they were walking down the hallway and they went to go into the men's bathroom right as Lou Ferrigno.

Was coming out. And at that point, he stops. Like, he kind of, like, just sort of puts his arm out. And I see him saying something to him and pointing to it. And then he just sort of, like, the person walks past him.

And he just sort of shrugs, like, whatever, weirdos. That's awesome. Oh, my God. That was pretty awesome. Lou Ferrigno tells you you can't be a man enough to go to a man's room.

That's something wrong. Oh my God. You just go use the woman's restroom. Go use the corner. That's what you do.

He has made the call. You go find a bush, Artie. That's right. Head out in the parking lot, bitch. Oh well let's see what so yeah among that one there were several people that we were trying to decide are they wearing really scary makeup no that's just their face.

Like the guy working the pretzel booth i'm glad i didn't get my. Pretzel yeah you probably didn't want a pretzel from that guy because i really like i thought he had like bad scary makeup on and then i went oh he's working. Here jesus but i mean what did he look like he's scary I. Can't even describe it. I had to draw a picture.

There was kind of a pig nose involved. Like he fell off the ugly tree. Did he look like an Ugnaught? He was like an Ugnaught serving pretzels. He had a joker smile and a pig nose.

Oh my god. See what I'm saying? I walked by and went, why is that? Oh, that's not a costume. Never mind.

Half the people you see, they come in robes because it's the only place they can blend in, I guess. Which is frightening. I don't care about movies or models, but No one knows. No one judges me here. Yes, here I fit in just fine.

What movie was that from? Oh. That's just your life. Not that I watch. Family Guy, but I think that happened once on Family Guy.

He's like, whoa, look at this guy's costume. The guy had, like, leprosy or something. Oh, wow. My zombie costume. It really looks like your face is falling off.

It is. We did see the zombie guy walking down the street on Barts Town Road. Yeah. He's homeless and only has one arm. I'm like, he looks like a zombie.

And he has a limb. He has a limb. I'm sure you've seen him. I've seen him several times. Oh, my God.

If you're not paying attention, it does look like there's a zombie outbreak. He was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, too, so it was just, like, trailing. Yeah, one waving arm in the breeze. I was like, oh, my God, it is a zombie. Holy shit.

Good times. Oh, man. Well, when I lived on Clay Street, there used to be this weird crackhead guy who would, like, They're fun. Yeah. He had, like, this seriously, like, bulging bloodshot out, and he'd just, like, turn in circles nervously.

Oh, my Lord. And, like, he started coming. Across the street after us, and I was like, oh, oh, my God, oh, my God. And then he, like, turned around. And then tried to hide behind this bush that was probably, like, one-fourth of the size.

That he was. I see me. It's really funny. I see me. There was a homeless guy on Bardstown Road that told us that the government stole all his clothes from the laundromat, but we were okay.

Hmm. Yeah, we were okay. As long as you're okay. Yeah. We seem like good people.

That's what he told us. Yeah. Have I ever mentioned this before? Have you ever noticed that all crazy people have some weird conspiracy involving the government? It kind of makes you wonder, like.

Are they crazy? Maybe they're on to something. Well, no. Are they crazy? Or, you know, like, they always have this story how I've heard a lot of crazy people say that they were in the CIA and, like, the government fucked them horribly.

And now they're, like, homeless and, like, insane on the streets. So, like, the government, when they're done with their agents, they're lobotomizing them and then just dropping them off on the streets? Have you ever wondered that? Really? Because, I mean, like, if you think about it, I've never met a homeless person that doesn't have some crazy story about the government.

Or, like, not just a regular homeless person. But, like, a crazy. You often hang out with homeless people? Like, a crazy. I work on Spring Street in Jeffersonville.

Yes. Yes, the answer is yes. God. Across the street from a mental health facility. I know.

Maybe it's a program the government is actually injecting homeless people into society to see what they cause, like the reactions, maybe gathering info. There's too many theories here. I can't even count on one hand how many crazy people I've encountered that go on a tangent about the government. In San Francisco, it was rampant. But it's like drug.

It's kind of like drug- i don't know everyone has their corner you know that's like that's your your spot and if you're homeless this is your corner yeah and if other homeless people try and come in on your turf you know it's problems but there's so many raving lunatics and yeah they all have some crazy spin about the government what they've been done or whatever and then religion is always sprinkled in there there's a nice smattering of that. Like it's even more trouble than jesus. If i disappear without a trace it's probably the government just for bringing that up. So you'll be in san francisco somewhere yeah they'll drop you off. At the other end of the country homeless in ukraine.

All right back to wonder fast. Well let's see yeah we had the guy that misty was convinced had his hair held down by model glue i. Said it was part of the models exhibit because it was just i'm not even sure what the hell was going on there i think it was just I don't even know. Bad. It was horrible.

I don't know. I can't. It was a plastic and glued down. Yeah, and then there was the other comb forward that started at the nape of his neck and just went all the way around. That was pretty exciting.

What was it? It was a comb over that started way back here. Oh, the nape of his neck. Dad. Like a swirly.

It all came forward and then it was a slight curve kind of chook chook. Over yeah no one's gonna notice that you're bald on top yeah I. Think I pointed out everybody's wigs too while we were there like dude I bet that guy's hair's not really loose I bet that guy I bet his is. Yeah I pointed a lot too yeah there's nothing that bad about being just bald I. Go right next to you check him out Misty does that I do.

Yes many times that's why. They never take me out to places anymore yeah. You can get away with it there cause you can take them off yeah they're all dorks you can take them out yeah But I have to give credit. I pointed this out, and I've pointed it out several years in a row now because it's increasing and getting better, at least from my standpoint. I'm always impressed, having been there this many years, the now number of girls that are there.

It's kind of awesome, actually. So if you're a girl out there and you're moving into the geek territory, more power to you. Yeah. It's always amazing because going, you know, that first year or two, like, Misty was it. Like, you were the one in the building.

You were the girl there. So now there's, I mean, there's a good portion. It's still not the, you know, an overwhelming amount, but it's impressive how much that's changed in the last few years. So good going, Geek Girls. Keep showing up.

Should we talk about the shirt that I now want that I saw earlier? It was the most awesomest shirt in the world. That is awesome. It said Edward and Bella. But it had Bela Lugosi holding Edward's head.

And it said, the sparkling stops now. It made me laugh. I stalked that guy. We did follow him around for a minute because I hadn't seen the front of it. I was like, dude, hold still.

I'm trying to see your shirt. Turn around. I'm trying to give you geek points for now, I'd say. That was awesome. That was the most awesome shirt.

I went home and tried to find it on the internet. I ended up buying me a Bubo shirt instead. The what? Super geek. Bubo.

Like the mechanical owl Bubo? Yeah. There's a shirt? Yeah. I don't know.

That's awesome. There was a bobblehead yesterday. It's not officially licensed. It was labeled as that one bird from that one movie. Yeah, that's good.

There are ways around it. That's how you get away with that shit. Love Etsy. Clockwork Hoot. But I did want to point out, I went back later that night for other events, and you can see how the Geek Girl curve fell off.

All the. No chicks. All the cool points that. I guess it's cool to go hang out while the celebrities are there and look at all the merchandise, but obviously it's not cool to go back and do the super late-night geeky events, the banquets and panels and, like, super geeky stuff because, man, when I got in that room and looked around... Meat locker.

I swear, I assumed they had a vagina detector at the door because I was like, sorry, man, move along. This is not for you. I went to one of the late-night movies once. It was the one with the. Dr.

Gangrene. Yeah. There were several chicks there, I thought, when I went. If you say so. But it's been a couple years ago.

And maybe that one was different. Maybe this was just a different crowd. Because, I mean, it was nothing but older, dorky-looking, mostly hefty guys. It's like they took the comic book guy from Simpsons and just cloned him a hundred times. Wow.

It was scary and sad. And what was most sad is that I was there. I'm fitting right in. So, yeah. Other than that watched a cool documentary that i will get to later but that's tons of stuff and we've crossed over many times so i guess uh anyone else want to throw other things in here at this point.

What did you do roger um i've been working my ball sack off excuse me for the past couple weeks so i haven't really had a chance to like see anything new which sucks just you know re-watch old movies that i have that are good that's why i own them but almost on Mother's Day, got to see Wyvern. Wait, wait, wait. No, was it Manticore? Or was it. I think it was Wyvern on the sci-fi channel.

You know, one of their made-for-TV mythical beasts shows. Manticore does sound familiar. It kind of got to the point where they're in Afghanistan or something, and of course, they're insurgents and all kinds of this bullshit, and then an amulet was found, and That summons the Manti Wyvern. This is not convoluted at all. No, not at all.

But I didn't get to finish the end of it because I just couldn't. I was like, I'm done. I can't do those movies anymore. The ones I've seen are fun, like Basilisk and stuff like that. But I'm just like, I'm over them.

I can't do it anymore. And other than that, I don't have anything... geeky or amazing or stu-tabulous to talk about. Luckily we had tons of geeky stuff going on. Yeah, I'm glad you're not filling up the time because I got nothing. My turn now.

I only watched two movies. No, I'm not done. Oh, son of a bitch. I'm done. You kids settle down.

Slap fight. Well, anyways, I only watched two movies this week, and they both came courtesy of the Sci-Fi Channel. Oh, God. I watched Black Swarm, which was not a black exploitation movie. It was a movie about wasps. they were genetically altered by robert england apparently.

Not even in the movie in the real world that's what he does just by robert england. Yeah anyway while tammy lives wasp and apparently they stink people and then they go in their brains and they take over and people become drone like and. Yeah this could be interesting they start exhibiting wasp like mannerisms They start rubbing their ass, like poking their asses on people. They just do that on the subway. Stop!

Oh, wait. But those guys had no problem with that. Yeah, but then they just had the most convoluted backstory about a girl who moved back into town where there. Was the twin brother of the guy she married. Sure was very complicated.

She had originally wanted to marry this brother, but then the other brother died, so she ended up with the other brother. It's a big old fucking mess. Does the other brother come back at the end? I'm not really done. No.

Damn. That never happened. Actually, I don't remember the very end. I might have at the very end, Brian called, and I missed the very end of the movie, so it could. Have gone off.

Sorry. But then, yeah, I did get to watch fully Mongolian death war. Which because I called you you told me it was coming on and then I started watching it so thanks a lot death worm. I'm pretty sure Sean Patrick Flannery is trying to take over Corin Nemec's role at uh at sci-fi right there this is like at least two that I've seen now that involve Sean Patrick Flannery. He's moving in on his territory I think there needs to be a slap fight between those two.

That's what I think. He's not in his niche, you know. I don't know who to take to. I mean, Corin Nemec, yeah, at least he doesn't have too much Botox where you can actually see his face. Sean Patrick Flannery, you need to lay off that shit.

Sorry. I mean, what's wrong with a man getting old? That's not that big of a deal. It works. It works usually better for guys.

I mean, women have that. Hollywood specifically is against you when you get old. But guys, you can be. You get more rugged and. Yeah, you can be a lady man until you're 60 and still skate by on that without.

Young chicks in movies. Yeah. Girls that are like 25 are your leading lady. So it's... Yeah, it's weird.

And I'm pretty sure Sean Patrick Flyer, he was gorgeous. He would have aged relatively well had he not gone for this over-botoxed look. And his forehead does not move through the entire... I think there's maybe one time where it almost moves and I was like. But he had his hands.

He was moving it by hand. I don't know what his deal is. To me, whenever I hear him talk, all I hear is Nathan Fillion. I can't watch Sean Patrick Flannery and not hear Nathan Fillion's voice. I don't know why.

Aside from Boondock Saints, whenever I hear Sean Patrick Flannery talk, it sounds just like Nathan Fillion. So do you think he's purposely trying to do it? I don't know. Or they're writing stuff for Nathan Fillion and they can't afford it. Yeah.

I don't know what's a combination of both because everything in his voice sounds just like it. Like if you close your eyes, I would picture Nathan Fillion. Not even just the words that are coming out, just his tone, his inflection, everything sounds just like him. Maybe that's just me. I don't know who Nathan Flea has.

From Firefly or Serenity. Slither. Slither. I love him in Slither. Slither.

I watched about one minute of The Messengers and girl bit her lip twice. Kristen Stewart. Oh, yeah, she does. In a minute. In a minute.

I was like, I didn't even watch it. She bit her lip twice. I'm surprised you got that far. I've seen it before, before I knew what she was. Oh, really?

Back in the day. Before the hatred grew. Before the evil. I was looking at the channels last night, and she was on there. It has Aiden from Sex and the City, as I've been told by everybody who.

Watches Sex and the City. I've never seen Sex and the City. A lot of guys do, I know. A lot of guys. A lot of manly men that I know love Sex and the City.

I don't know, because it's girls talking about their twats or something. Yeah, but look at who it is. Camp Control is the only reason that there would be to watch that show. I'm kind of the opposite. The darker chicks.

Yeah, the Kristen Davis or whatever. She's cute. She's older, too, so she looks good for her age. She didn't have a forced face. And the lesbian girl was cute when she was like 15.

When she was a little kid in that movie, she was actually still cute. Is that that red-headed chick? Yeah. See, now she's just old. How was it a surprise to anybody that she was gay?

But when she was a kid, when she was in the movie, she was actually cute. The other two I can live without for the rest of my life. every time that's how I know I'm in trouble because I keep seeing the Sex and the City 2 trailer and they see that first shot of Sarah Jessica Parker in that tuxedo and it's a knee jerk reaction I don't think about it I see that on the screen and I go ugh it looks like a foot I just had like I realized like that's why I know I have such a bad natural reaction to that because it's not a conscious thing i don't think about it and go i don't want to see that i immediately knee jerk go oh oh ah get her off the screen she looks like a god just yeah she does look like a knotted up piece of the wood.

Something something went wrong because she used to be again. That was another one about 91 she was still cute la story la story story she was really sandy she was the last time she was. Cute The only time I ever thought she was pretty is when you put her next to Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy or. Naomi or however you. Pronounce her name.

I thought she was really cute in Hocus Pocus, but I mean. Only in between those two. Dude, I love that movie. I would watch that movie right now. Never seen that movie.

That movie's fucking nice. Yeah. You need to watch it. The guy in the movie, the kid, he is so cute. When you're the hot one out of that trio, that's not so much.

I thought she was so pretty, but now I go back and watch it and I'm like... Yeah, when you're starring next to Bette Midler, you're going to be the hot one. I think that pretty much wraps mine up. All I watched in its entirety was Mongolian Death Worm. Yeah, it was fun.

I'll give it that much. Was it a giant worm, like a tremor-type worm, or was it small? It was a very tremorous field. Yeah, it ate a lot of people. Sci-Fi had that other movie, wasn't it just called Worms or something?

I saw it was like giant worms in the desert, and I was like, I've seen it. seen this before. Did I say sandworms? Yes. Sandworms. You know, I hate them.

That was your line yesterday. Totally watched Beetlejuice last week. Oh, word. Nice. I'm still waiting for my bootleg copy of it on Cartoon.

I'm pretty sure I got ripped off. Scam. Hey, I just knocked out my Beastmaster 2 and 3 DVDs after waiting a month and a half. Nice. And my fault, the guy's kid died.

Sir. His kid died? Yeah. Oh, how caring that was. All I'm saying is if you can't be selling shit, don't be selling shit.

Oh, my God. Remove your shit from the internet. Don't sell stuff if. You can't send it. You know what helps crying about your dead child?

Sending me stuff. That I bought. Shipping me my stuff. Shipping me my stuff. I'm heartless.

Whatever. All right, Marlena's turn. Well, I mentioned I watched Beetlejuice, but it was on TV. It was cut to hell. They took the fuck out, but they took that out a long time ago when Disney bought them.

Give me the gun, you fairy godmother. That's not Beetlejuice at all. I know. That's my edited version of watching Usual Suspects. Sorry, I interrupted you.

That's okay. I watched this movie called Sorority Row. it was made in the 80s sometime and any movie about girls that live in a sorority house i've learned there's always a mutant that lives in the attic. Oh i love that movie i saw that was it the. House on sorority or just sorority i think it's just called sorority. Row or maybe it might be the house it's the one they just did a remake of.

Yeah i think it was originally the house on sorority row then they remade it and it was just sorority row with potato head and ceiling eyes. Yeah ceiling eyes. Please explain ceiling eyes to me. Our regular listeners, I know, know this one. I know Randy knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah, Randy likes ceiling eyes. Ceiling eyes, is that Adriana Partridge? She was on The Hills. Oh, I don't know. She hated Chris Pine for a while because she always looks like she's looking up at the ceiling, no matter what.

She has weird funky eyes. It's probably because she's on drugs. And then there was Potato Head, which is... Rumor Willis. She looks like a potato.

What else has she been in? Denny Moore's Womb. Nice. She has this disgusting chin. It's like.

How old is this poor girl? You'd think between the two of those people they could come out looking good, but no. She's got the worst features of both of them. Yeah, Demi was pretty and Bruce was handsome back in the day. Now he's just an old bald dude.

Between the two, you'd think they could come up with some decent DNA. The House on Sorority, I watched that a couple months ago. Yeah, I really liked that one. The old one? Yeah, the old one.

I watched it. But any movie about sororities, there's always Mutant in the Attic. Always. That's awesome. That's where I'm moving pretty soon.

They didn't really give you a lot of story about it. Like, oh, well, she had a kid, put him in the attic. There you go. There wasn't really any other. Yeah, no.

So that was kind of back when they did that with horror movies. Because, I mean, Black Christmas was awesome. But there was no real elaborating on that one. It was the exact same movie, minus it being Christmas. Yeah, it was.

I was like, I feel like I've watched this. But it was still enjoyable. Yeah, it was enjoyable. A lot of good deaths. Yeah.

And that band, Four Out of Five Doctors. Oh, they were awesome. They ruled so much we had to look up who the band was. Oh, wow. That's a cool name.

That's an awesome title. Yeah, that was a good movie. Yeah, it was a pretty good movie. I watched season two of Flight of the Conchords. Nice.

Which I didn't know this until like last week, but the show is canceled apparently. Yeah. Yeah. It's a little bit too dry for American audiences. I mean, those usually don't get very far.

I think it's hilarious as shit. It's like the best show ever. They wrapped it up pretty good, so. I mean, whatever. But, yeah, pretty sad.

No more. My favorite was. There's this episode where Mel, which is, she kind of stalks them. She's a freak. She's awesome, though.

She is awesome. She's like crazy. But she was riding her bike, and she had a fanny pack, and she pulled out two cookies that looked just like them. And I was like, she knows where it's at. She's got a fanny pack, because I've been talking about getting a fanny pack.

For when I ride my bike. Don't do it. Don't do it. And everyone's like, don't do it. And I'm like, what?

A fanny pack is totally, I mean, utilitarian purposes only. I'm not trying to make a fashion statement. Get a messenger bag. Passenger bags. And they're bigger.

You can hold more. Fanny packs hold nothing. I just needed to hold my keys, my phone, and some money if I want to stop and get ice cream. Those are pockets. Those are pockets.

My mom owns four fanny packs. Oh, God. Did you wear them all at the same time? No. That's awesome.

I used to. Dude. In, like, 1990, I had, like, three fanny packs up where I was at the same time. Holy shit. Oh, my God.

I don't think I would admit that to people. No, never. It's a good thing you get a backpack. I mean, my gay uncle didn't stop carrying his fanny pack around until, like, 2004. Because he's gay.

There's a different set of rules. Yeah. Although usually they have better fashion sense. I don't understand. That's going against the norm, but whatever.

Rainbow. Yeah, he's not one of the fashionable gay men. I did almost buy a fanny pack at the Hot Topic yesterday for my sister because it was the Charlie the Unicorn one. Charlie. Oh cool they have fanny packs at hot topic i had the the unicorn was it on clearance for how much i don't know probably gonna go back and get.

That This message brought to you. By Hot Topic. Hot Topic. Oh, you're fanny packing these. I don't ever shop there.

Oh, I don't ever shop there. That sounds really interesting. You like that? I did have a. Pair of blue leopard print high heels there this week.

I bought a dinosaur hoodie. I don't. Is that eyeballs on it? It's sharks too. Do they have any more?

It's sharks too. Sweet. Going back. Go back. Teeth.

I've decided I'm not going to shop anymore, but Misty just corrupted me. I have a problem. You do? Yeah, like a really bad problem. But anyway.

Oh, Morgan. Well, if nothing else, do you want to help spread the infection? As of Friday night, I found out your new obsession, and you're really trying to win the world over with this one. I don't know why people don't. I mean, I seriously like it.

I think most people who would like it would like. It in an ironic way. But, like, my friend ordered this CD, and it came in the mail on Friday. It's Duck Mandu. And this guy plays it.

He's, like, a badass accordion player, which I'm all about because I like accordion music. And it's all accordion versions of Dead Kennedy songs. Oh, wow. Yeah, pretty sweet. I think, yeah, as we go into our break here, we'll play a little Duck Mandu for everybody.

Yeah, pretty awesome. I'm not sure it's for everyone, but you can see if it's up your alley, hey, you can go find them. I don't know why not everyone would like it. I don't understand. So, yeah.

Me personally, but. If you find yourself looking for it, yeah, it's all one word, by the way. I just found that out the other day. Yeah, one word. It's Duck Mandu.

Yeah, he always wears it. I think it's like a Daffy Duck hat or something. Nice. Donald. Donald Duck.

Yeah, whatever. Licensing problems. Because Donald was a sailor. Pretty awesome. Did he wear pants?

No. No. Donald or Duckman, I'm not sure. Either way. How can you wear a shirt and not wear pants?

I do it all the time. All right, we'll take a break. I am Governor Jerry Brown. My arrows, my arrows are never frowned. Soon I will be president.

Carter Powell will soon go away. I will be your heir one day. I will command under you. Your kids will meditate in school. Your kids will meditate in school.

May the dog May the dog May the dog May the dog May. The dog. . All right, so it is time for What's the Buzz? Groovy. Brought to you by me.

Out the notes. Yep, we're busting out the notes. We ain't got no internet. Why? It might be back.

It was this morning the entire internet shut down for some freaking reason. So I just picked some stuff at random. So yeah, usually you complain about what I pick, but this time Misty picked them, so. Where to begin? I know what's first on the list is Colin Farrell will be the new vampire in the Fright Night movie.

He will be the neighbor that was originally played by Chris Sarandon. Which, yeah, as we were discussing that yesterday, I was like, at first I was like, oh, that's weird casting. I can see it almost. But at the same time, I was like, well, he is a good actor. I don't have a problem with him as an actor.

He's kind of hot. He's kind of a douchebag. I was like, well, no, he's kind of fancy. But I was like, thinking back, he's a fancy lad. He's definitely a fancy lad.

But I was thinking back, I was like, well, Chris Sarandon, I mean, a lot of people probably would have thought that was weird casting back in the day. I mean, he's played many a fancy lad in his time. So, I mean. A fancy poncy lad. So I don't know.

That's still up in the air. I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole project, but I'm hearing better names involved every time, so I'm kind of interested, even with that thrown in there. I guess that's going to be the kid, the neighbor kid, I think. How are they going to replace Evil? There should be another piece of paper, the one behind it.

They can't replace Evil. Evil is the best part about that movie for me. I don't know. For some reason, I thought it was awesome. I don't remember that movie.

It's been so many years since I've seen it. It was one of the first vampire movies that scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. Because when they turned into vampires, their faces were, like, freaky. Yeah. Like, they had this big maw, and then their eyes.

I was like, oh, Jesus Christ. It's messed up. Like, now it looks. cheesy, I guess. Kids today will probably make fun of it, but I mean, it's still, it's such a good story. It's like, it's just, it transcends the makeup problems and the bad 80s dance scene.

Yes. It'll be on the second page. I forgot. I didn't copy it. I guess he's going to be at Fright Night.

Who? Amanda Bierce. And nobody's going to care. It's going to be awesome. I'm going to care.

Marcy Darcy's going to be there. I'll be all over some Marcy Darcy. Amanda Bierce. I'm married with children. Dude, I care.

And she was a chick in Fright Night. That's why it. Reminded me of that. Anton Yelchin? Yelchin?

That's the Chekhov? Yeah. Is it? Whistles. Captain.

Wow. It surprised me that he actually knew the name. That's what I was trying to remember. It sounded familiar. I was like, why do I know that?

Or Sean Conner in the new Terminator or whatever. The young John Conner. I never saw the new one. Really? That was good.

Did they have Wessels in that one too? No, he didn't have to say Wessels. I love that movie. You should always say Wes. Why are they even attempting to make another Alan Quartermain movie?

I didn't like the first time around. They were terrible. I've never seen one. The only thing I knew about the Quartermains was from General Hospital. I'm not sure it was the same character.

May not be the same family line, but... Maybe distant relatives, cousins. Alan Quatermain. It was just annoying because it was such a wannabe Indiana Jones. It's like everybody knew it was, but then nobody wanted to call it out.

And I'm like, but no, that's all it is. Was Alan Quatermain, did he exist before Indiana Jones? Because is he a folklore character? I think he was. I think just like stories.

I think there were like probably old stories. I really don't think I've ever seen any of these movies. well now Boy of the Minute is going to be in it because he's going to be in everything big for the next five. Years yeah until the novelty is worn off Sam Worthington he will be the new oh then yeah he's. The guy from Avatar. And Clash of the Titans I feel.

Like I'm so out of the loop what is wrong with me today I'm like who. I've never even seen these movies and I'm on crack you're filling. In for Jay usually he forgets everybody that's in all these movies I'm not on crack really everybody I'm. Not not on crag just darps. It so yeah i just don't understand why they need.

To make another one of those because they have no ideas because i guess they quit making the mummy movies which were another bad one to be Indiana Jones. So, I don't know. They just need to stop. They need to just roll into straight up the second League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Because the comic was awesome.

But the comic was a lot different than the movie where, who is it? The. Let me see. Mr. Hyde, basically, the Invisible Man rapes Mina in the comic book, and then Dr.

Jekyll eats the Invisible Man because he's like, you know, oh, yeah, you fucker. So he's like, no, he rapes him in the ass first. Sorry. Yeah, that's a pretty good scene. This really happens?

Yes, it really happens in the comic. Wow. See, this is why. It's a lot different than the movie. He's invisible.

How does he know he's getting him in the ass? I don't know. In his throat. I don't know. Maybe he's making ooh butt sex sounds.

I don't know. A hole is a hole is a hole. There's a hole in my bucket. Yes, he actually has. It's Richard Haggard's.

Alan Quartermain is a 19th century Victorian era hero. They're citing it as the influences of Indiana Jones. I didn't see that. He was one of the members of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so it does tie into all this. But I don't care.

Indiana Jones is like 10 million times better than... Any version of it I've ever seen. I haven't read the story, so what. Do I know? Oh, can I say something really fast?

I should have said this during Geek Week, but I forgot, and I feel it's really important because this astounded me. I went to a How to Train Your Dragon-themed birthday party yesterday for a four-year-old. Was there dragons? Yeah, there were. Really?

No. But there was a bouncy castle. That's pretty awesome. But remember when it used to take, like, four years for party supplies to come out for a movie? You know, like, if a movie came out one year, two years later, you can get, like.

Plates and cups and napkins. By the time the movie was completely uncool, you could have a theme party, basically. Yeah, exactly. Now you can get the supplies before the movie's even out. I know.

I was like, this movie's still in theaters. It's insane. Because I remember, like, being little and, like, Wanting a certain themed birthday party. And, like, you can't, you know. You're getting Garfield and you're going to, like.

I'm still waiting for. My Thundercats birthday. I know. The mass marketing machine is in full effect nowadays where it really wasn't back then. I had a big bird cake every year until I was, like, 12.

God. Because my mom had a big bird cake thing. So. My mom had a train one. I was like, yes.

I'm sticking with my Boba Fett pan. Screw you guys. Trains. They don't make the right colors to make the Boba Fett, so you end up with pastels. It's still Boba Fett.

It's pink and purple. It's still Boba Fett. He's awesome. It's not like the little. It's brick crinkles.

So, yeah, it is a lot faster now. I mean, they do marketing, yeah, and merchandising for everything. I mean, look at just the movie merchandising. You can play the game of the movie before the movie's out. Or like the Avatar toys were out well before the movie was.

And I'm just like, I don't even know what these blue things are. Why am I looking at them on my shelf? These aren't Smurfs at all. They don't have parts, like naughty parts. Yeah.

How do they do it you just have to get ahead of the game at this point in their mind it's like you have to get it out and beat the and it's probably especially movie related because movies have such a short window now it's like you've got maybe two weeks. Or something comes out out and then two months later if that they're you know on your dvd shelves. Yeah and i mean how to train your dragon is one of the few exceptions in the last few years that like started slow and steadily built its way up and has found sort of a following now but most movies like if you didn't open at the top of the box office that week two weeks later you would have been kicked out of theaters so i guess they realize at this point i mean if you want to get marketing you want to get merchandising you got to get it out there before it even hits.

The theaters because of that very. Reason so So you're talking about the remake that's. Pissing a lot of people off? Uh-oh, what is this? The new remake?

It's on the back of that one. Uh, yeah. Is this Remake of the Week? This, uh, yeah, I guess we can throw it out there as the official. You know what you love?

It's time for the pissing people off Remake of the Week. According to today's findings, Dario Argento, he made the original Deep Red in the 70s, so now they're remaking it and George Romero is doing it. Yes. Yes. What?

And in 3D. It's coming from Dario Argento's brother's film production company. So it's like, why is he helping? It's like, really? Why do you need that?

At this point, if he can make money off of it, that's probably. I didn't do a lot of research on that because I did it right before I left the house. I didn't really write anything. I have no more information on the Deep Red remake. I don't know how far they've actually made it.

I have no idea. It's one of those. I mean, Dario Argento has always kind of been... just sort of making his movies. And as time has gone on, he's made stuff that people don't really like as much anymore. And it doesn't seem to phase him.

Like he continues making his movies. So it's like, he's, he may be one of those guys that like, again, if they can license his movie to somebody else, he probably doesn't even care who it is. I mean, if he, if I don't know if he holds the rights to it, so that's what I'm wondering if he's going to get a cut of this deal, if he's going to be like executive producer and, And maybe he thinks turning it over to Romero is a better way to go. At this point, that's questionable. Yeah, really.

The last couple of Romero movies haven't been that great. He's lost it. I'm sorry. I have no faith in him anymore at all. And that sucks because he was a master.

He was. And he should always go down in history, in my mind, as a master. But I just refuse to see anything he does nowadays because I want to keep that. in my mind i don't want to be like fuck you i don't. Know i'll see the new western dummies or whatever the hell that new one is i'll watch it but good luck i'm not going in. With super romero told me i sound like a misty and i'm not sure what that means that means yeah what does that mean i don't know I was getting his autograph eight years ago.

I don't know, my mom postponed our wedding. He's like, yeah, you sound like a Misty. And I'm like, what? Okay. Are you drunk, mister?

Is there any other movies that I wrote? I know you're excited about the one that's on there about the Roller Coaster Tycoon movie. Oh. Get out of town. They have bought the rights to the Roller Coaster Tycoon video game so that they're going to turn it into a movie in some way.

God, that sounds awful. Get me off of the planet Earth. Let's see. Sony Pictures has picked up the rights to the Atari PC game Roller Coaster Tycoon. Good for them.

Oh, which. How do you make a game like that into a movie? I mean, it's SimCity the movie. Yeah, really. The only good thing I ever liked to do was get that loop-de-loop roller coaster and then turn.

The speed all the way up to high and then it shoots. It off the other end. That was the best part. That was the best part. Or trapping people in the park until they got mad and picking them up and dropping them in the lake.

I remember one. Time I just made an entire big water area. It was just huge. It was most of the park. And then I had all these angry little pissed off people at the bottom, and I would just pick them up with the big God hand and drop them into the water.

Oh, good God. I was trying to see how many people, because you've got your count of the people running there. I was trying to see how many I could go through. Could you just make big space launching platforms where it would curlicue and then just angle up and then the tracks would stop? No.

See, that's the thing. They wouldn't let you kill people without doing it really ridiculous ways like that. That was about the only way. Because basically, yeah, after a minute and a half when the novelty of playing the game normally wore off, I just decided to see how many ways I could kill people. So the only other way you could, aside from dropping them on the water, was it had one preset little.

Loop-de-loop roller coaster. Yeah. You could adjust the speed on it, and if you would turn it all the way up to the top level, it would just go all the way through, and when it would get to the other end, it would shoot it off the top. And it would catch fire. It would catch fire?

That's awesome. It would hit the ground like a crab next to it. Nice. That's fun. It would die a horrible screaming death.

I don't think that'll be in the movie. I wish. See, then, if it was like Bruckheimer, you'd have some explosions in this bitch. You know, the only video game I think I've ever liked to play is... zelda but even that i can't play for very long but i can play caesar 3 until my eyeballs bleed like it's it's like a sim simulation game like that but like dude if they made a movie about that i might be the only person in the theater but i would be on that shit i like. The age of empires 2 so yeah it was basically the same thing.

It'll be no iron sky i'll tell you that right now which is one of the few movies if they actually because they actually do have a shooting location now it's gonna be filmed in australia but it's gonna have space nazis Fuck yeah. So do you have more of the story on this? No. I can't really find that much information on it. I just saw the trailer online.

Hopefully it's not going to be like a Sky Captain. Because Sky Captain, the theory was awesome. The original story was exciting. And then the movie came out. It's like, how did you screw this up?

But yeah, you can go to. Their website and you can buy these war bonds. They're not real war bonds. That's cool. That's pretty awesome.

That's fun. They're a movie to make so that you can actually get the money to make this. But yeah. Apparently, like, after the war, they took off, and they didn't stick around. They went into space.

That's awesome. Nazis went to the moon, didn't they? Yeah, Nazis went to live on the moon, and now they're coming back to kick your ass. That's pretty awesome. And it'd be a Marmaduke movie.

Did you hear that? Yeah. That is awesome. Have you not seen the trailer? Holy shit.

I haven't, and I'm glad. It's... Oh, man. I mean, as bad as all of. Is it.

Garfield, CG? It's worse. Like, Garfield looks good compared to this movie. Oh, my lord. It looks. atrocious.

Nobody cares about Marvin. Kids don't fucking read. No, that's what I'm saying. That's like they have a freaking Ziggy cartoon. Yeah.

Why not? They were pushing it with the Garfield movies or even the Alvin and the Chimma. I mean, you're lucky to find a kid who knows who those characters are before those lame-ass movies. Apartment 3G, the movie. Just don't make a family circus movie.

Yeah. Little dotted lines everywhere. Yeah, you're just following Timmy or Billy around for an hour and a half. Yikes. Were we going to talk about the Marilyn Monroe biopic or not?

Yeah, I guess. They're making a Marilyn Monroe biopic, and they have cast Naomi Watts as Marilyn. What? Yeah, Naomi Watts. I mean, I love Naomi Watts, but as Marilyn Monroe?

Yeah, I don't see it at all. I don't see it at all. And I can't think of anybody who I could actually pick. Even putting a big-ass blonde wig on her or something, like. No.

I mean, she's got. I mean, she has. She doesn't have the curves. She's done the blonde thing, but. Marilyn Monroe was curvy and, like, she was beautiful.

Even if they, like, took Angelina Jolie and dyed her blonde, I think that would. Be, like, a better fit. Oh, not that freaky bitch. Oh. I don't know.

I mean, just she's got a more apt body for it. Definitely. And her face. I don't know if I can get past that. No.

And she's beautiful, but she doesn't look like her. Yeah, she doesn't look like her. But I can't think of anybody I could actually think being a good Marilyn Monroe. But, dude, there's, like, 50 million billion fucking Marilyn Monroe impersonators. Who are also actors.

Yeah, really. Find one of them. Exactly. Give them their shot. I was like, oh, my God.

You know Lindsay Lohan's crying because she has this delusion that she thinks she's like the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe. Really? Yeah. I just avoid her. Has this been verbalized?

Oh, yeah. Oh, what a crazy bitch. Have you seen the pictures? No. Those mostly naked pictures of her were her trying to recreate specific shots of Marilyn.

I didn't realize she was a crazy ass bitch. She's a creepy ginger. Yeah. Freckled. And she's a stick.

I mean, you're not anything like Marilyn. Yeah. She does have pickle bitties. You do. Lots of cocaine.

No, she used to be really curvy when she first started. All those girls are like Hillary Duff and all those like teen girls. They start off and they have regular bodies and then they like They. Start to party and get into freaking drugs and start coke and stuff. ruin everything. The coke diet.

Yeah. Yeah, I can't think of anybody now who would actually make a good Marilyn Monroe because nobody's going to be able to pull off her charm because I mean, yeah, she wasn't the smartest but she. Was She didn't act all that well but she. Seemed very sincere in what she was doing. She seemed at least I don't know.

Yeah. I mean, she kind of played the part that was pretty close to her, but she did that well, you know? It's like she was. selling herself more or less but and she. Was gorgeous i mean seriously there aren't that many girls even today that can even compare to what marilyn monroe was i'm. Saying they'd be she's just like the epitome of the pinup.

Yeah i mean she was and and we don't really have that kind of girl anymore it's it's a very different world type of women today so it's yeah we don't have because. Apparently kirby's not beautiful anymore which is insane Which. I think it was the Norma Jean and Marilyn thing that they did years ago. I think that was Charlize that did the early version, the Norma Jean, wasn't it? Was it Charlize?

I thought it was Ashley Judd. Was it Ashley? Yeah, it was. They're both pretty. Ashley Judd and then Mina Suvari.

Yeah, Mina Suvari. No, not Mina Suvari. Mina Servino did the Marilyn version. Which that one was bad. I didn't get it with that one.

But yeah, the Norma Jean version was not bad. But, yeah, Ashley's gotten weird over the years, too. She doesn't look... She's too old. They're all.

Marilyn wasn't that old when she died. All these, you know, leading lady women are way too old at this point. If you're starting at an early age, it's like, who are you going to find that's, like, up and coming that's going to play a young Norma Jean? I mean, there's... There's not really anybody that fits that role.

When she died? Don't you mean when she was killed? Conspiracy! I'll shut up. You don't remember that because the government wiped out your memory here, right?

They did. So, yeah, I don't know. I mean, either of them. I mean, even Charlize would be an interesting choice for the older version. I don't think Charlize ever bounced back from Monster.

Her face never looked good right again. I mean, it's not the same. She has that kind of hollowed out look still. I don't like that. She really didn't do much after that.

I mean, she was in everything for a while. And after Monster, they're like, didn't she win an Oscar for that? I think. I don't remember. She was nominated.

I don't know if she did. Yeah. Actually, I thought she did one because that was the whole thing. If you want to win an Oscar, you've got to ugly up. Ugly up.

Yeah. Yeah. She didn't really... She didn't do anything. No.

I said she didn't bounce back good. She just looked rough for a while afterwards. It just. I don't know. I don't think it's a good idea.

I like her as the lovable retard on Arrested Development. Oh, yeah. I think they'd be better off just casting somebody unknown to play Marilyn. I don't know. You'd think.

I mean, there's so much... Pressure with that role. It's hard enough to get anybody to do it, let alone have somebody who's already got a pre-established persona to deal with. It'd be easier, I would think, to just get a nobody. They could just get Kirsten Stewart to do it.

No, Marilyn Monroe did not have downy face. She was just like a little unattractive boy. Oh, you guys are so mean. Leave her alone. You're the one that brought her up.

You know what happens every time. I know. Even with the Betty Page movie when they cast Gretchen Mal to do it, she was cute and she did a good job, but you know. She wasn't Betty Page. Yeah, exactly.

It doesn't really matter who they put in this movie it's not Marilyn Monroe so she's not going to have the charisma it's just going to be I think it's. Just kind of a bad idea fall in with your thoughts who should it be yeah let's see what everybody thinks if anybody can play Marilyn if anybody. Cares yeah I care I care you actually you obviously seem to care because you're actually still awake this time for sure you've been awake through. It how many months I was rested last night. Alright lord I've talked way too much Didn't Naomi Watts have Liv Schreiber?

What did you just have? Liv Schreiber. Oh, Liv Schreiber. Liv Schreiber, whatever the fuck his name is. You tell me.

I love that dude. I don't know any of that gossip stuff. I love that dude. Oh, Lord. So are we done with the buzz?

Yeah, I think we're done. All right. So we'll head into the interview this week. This week we talked to Cortland Hull, who is the co-director of the movie I Saw Last Night. Yes.

He is actually kind of the driving force that set out to make. This documentary called the Aurora monsters, the model craze that gripped the world. And it's, it's pretty damn cool. If, if you're a, if you consider yourself a monster kid, if you know what that term means and you think it applies to you, this is probably your movie because it's a, well, first of all, it's hosted by Zachary Lee, the cool ghoul, which again, if you're an old school geek, you know who that is. He actually has a great voice.

It's just listening to him do the voiceover and, He does sort of the breaks in between the different segments. He kind of does this. He used to host the movie shows, and once they sold the Universal Monsters in the 60s, they brought them on TV, and he was one of the TV hosts that came out and kind of did the introduction. So they set up the documentary kind of like that, and it's got the beginning, and he does this little thing, and he's got a.... A gargoyle sidekick that's a puppet.

Word. That's actually pretty awesome. Sounds very bizarre. So, yeah. But the bulk of it is actually a two-hour visual history of the Aurora monster kits and the monster craze.

Of the 1960s. What are the Auroras? Monster kits they were uh the aurora kits were the the monster models like basically were the vinyl kits well they were plastic at that point it was before you know it was back in the day and it was um you know back in like the 40s and you know times before that pretty much they started making model kits but they were all like airplanes and you know it was for little kids and that's what they did you know you would build knights in armor or airplanes and that was about it but um they they kept trying to get a push and get like monsters made and they wanted to do monster, you know, like a model of Frankenstein and models of Dracula. And they were kind of fighting it.

They were like, ah, there's no market for that. And they finally got around to doing it. And it's like that. And I talked to him about this because it is like, and you know, we feature a lot of stuff on movies, but we also specifically get into the movie geek end of it. And this to me is like the birth of the movie geek.

It's like, there really was no merchandising. There was no like, There was no collectible stuff. And it's like this when it kicked in was the chance for little kids to be like, hey, I love this movie. I want to have something and put on my shelf. I mean, it is the collector geek, you know, genesis.

It's like when all that kicked in. this is what made it happen. So yeah, they started putting out these, these model kits and they had like awesome artwork that, um, James Bama was the guy who did the, uh, the original cover art on the boxes. And like at this point it's become like. Legendary artwork, like in the geek circles, he is like, you know, has become this thing. So it's funny that like all these people that were involved in it at the time were just doing their job.

Like they had no concept that anybody cared, um, And they actually got one of the guys who sculpted two of the original, like the Bride of Frankenstein and this old Godzilla. And he was at the show yesterday that we were at. And he had never had any inkling that people cared about him. Really? He's like 90 some odd years old now and has, you know, up until like this past year, I guess, when they started putting this documentary together.

Had no idea. Had no idea people still cared. Oh, wow. That there was this whole following around the Laura models and that people were still. Dude, no, you're a rock star.

Yeah, he kind of was. He was just sort of in awe. People were coming up to his table and talking to him and telling him how influential he was. That's awesome. These generations of kids that grew up, so it's pretty awesome that they kind of put a spotlight on all these different people, like the people who sculpted the models, the people that painted the box art, and all these things that went into making them so influential.

And then towards the end, they get into all the people that they influenced, so they have people that are working in, like, sideshow toys now and like all the new series that are coming out and how they are sort of drawing from what they started doing on these Aurora model kits. So it's, it's pretty amazing. If you're into that kind of stuff, this really does break it down and show you all the different parts. And it gets into how it came about, like as a business and then how it caught on with the kids and how, you know, and how they. Were, they were sort of got themselves in trouble.

Like you're making model kits in like the sixties of like guillotines. So like, women's groups would come out and like be protesting them and got the stuff banned and eventually ended up like shutting down the company after years of, you know, fighting over this stuff. So it's, yeah, it's kind of interesting. The, the, progression all this stuff has gone through especially seeing the ridiculous state that it's all in now the ridiculous amount of product that there is for stuff now it's amazing to go back in like just a short span of time and see a time when there was nothing really so it's it's pretty awesome actually so Um, but yeah, we talked to Cortland Hull, who is the, uh, aside from putting this movie together, I think we need to plan a trip to, um, Connecticut.

Okay. Because he also, um, he decided when he. Was a kid, he was into these, but as he got older, he was like, no, what I want to do, the little ones just aren't enough. What I want to do are life size versions of these. Wow.

So he has actually created, like, a huge, like, horror movie, like, museum. It's basically called the Witch's Dungeon Classic Movie Museum in Bristol, Connecticut. We should go. And he's put together all these, like, scenes from movies, and he's actually recreated them with all these characters, and they put it together and I think have it up and running every year at Halloween. So it's been going on since, like, the 60s.

Yeah, really. I don't know. It's pretty awesome, too. So, yeah, at some point he starts talking about making life-size. Versions of it.

Awesome. So that's pretty damn cool. So here is Cortland to tell us about the movie itself. The Aurora Monsters is really a tribute to the sculptors, the artists, everybody that was responsible for the Aurora Monster kits. But not only that, but it's also.

Looking back at the incredible monster craze of the 1960s. The toys, the games, everything that came out. In the 1960s. In relation to, actually, the universal horror films that were released to television under the Shock Theater package. And in my area.

The one that was most responsible for kicking this off the ground was really Zachary Lee, The Cool Ghoul. And so that's why we felt that Zach was the best choice to host this documentary. And he does it in his own inimitable way. He makes it fun, but also another thing is just. It's very visual.

We shot the Zacharly sequences at Bill Diamond's studio. He had incredible sets of castle sets, very colorful. When we had Zachary. Host the Aurora Monsters, we didn't want him to just do something that was like narration. We wanted it to be like his old show.

And so Zach, you have to understand, is 91 years old. But we'll be lucky if we're that sharp and can have that much fun at 91, I want to tell you. Because he was just perfection in this. and I made him up to look like he did in the old shows, darkened his hair, did the makeup like he used to do. Then I had other costumes for him for different segments where, for instance, he's got his old Transylvania University cap and sweatshirt on, and in this he has a sidekick, which he never had before, which is Gorgo the Gargoyle, which is a One of the gargoyle down spots on Zack's Castle. So it brings back, I feel, the fun that the monster craze of the 1960s really was.

A lot of people. that may not have lived it don't realize how much fun this all was. It was long before the internet, long before VHS or DVD. The only way you could see these movies was on television. There wasn't a. Lot of merchandising out there, hardly any.

And the Aurora Monsters kits, they were really the first major merchandising out there other than a few. Of the masks. So this was really something that. All of us as kids at that time, we just treasured this. And in the documentary, what we did, we were able to interview James Bama, who was the artist that did most all the covers of the classic Aurora Monsters.

We also interviewed Ray Myers, who he sculpted the Bride of Frankenstein, Godzilla, Ghidorah, and several others. We interviewed Andy Yanchis, who was a project developer for Aurora. And if it wasn't for him, a lot of the kits that we enjoy today wouldn't have been done, including monster scenes. So. Beyond that, we have Dan Roebuck, who is a collector but also an actor.

He was in Lost. He was in Final Destination, just to name a few. He just loves this stuff and a very strong supporter of the hobby, collecting. Yeah, we talked to him a while back. He's a big movie monster fan.

Yeah, that's right. He just loves this stuff, and he's probably one of the number one fans of Zach, too. So he was just thrilled that we had Zach hosting it. Then beyond that, we have such an incredible. Sculptor, Jeff Yeager, and besides him talking about his sculpting, of course he's also an actor, but he did the tribute kits to the Bama covers, so they look exactly like the Bama covers.

They're just amazing. And then we talked to some other sculptors that were inspired by James Bama's work, such as Matt Geppetto, Daniel Horn, and also the future of the model kits with Sideshow Collectibles. And we have a great wax figure, or I mean wax sculpting demo by Matt Falls of Sideshow Collectibles. You actually see him working on a head to do the sculpting for the head, which is something really rare. Nobody's had a chance to see before it.

And then, of course, Frank Winsper of Mobius Models, he talks about them carrying on the tradition of the Aurora kits with Big Frankie and Dr. Jekyll as Mr. Hyde and others. And he's taken up the torch for the monster. Scenes as well.

So, all together, it really gives you not only a history of Aurora, but where the hobby is going and. It keeps the fun going throughout. This is something that I think, unfortunately, possibly a younger generation wouldn't quite realize that the. The inspiration it gave many of us, and just the sheer fun of it. Yeah, I mean, it is, we're very sort of movie geek oriented, and try to encourage that as, you know, it's become, you know, the type of person that you are at this point, and that's sort of like the birth of it right then.

I mean, you really didn't have, the collecting aspect is a big part of it, it seems like, and that was sort. Of the first real collectible for movies, and Oh, it really was, because up until that time, there was hardly anything out there except for maybe famous monsters. That was about it. And there was only one, even only one mask that was out there that was of Universal, and that. Was the Frankenstein mask that Don posted.

The very, well. It wasn't detailed like the later ones, but this was a very... I don't know what the right word is, but at least it was a Frankenstein. That's about all you had. And then you had the Ben Cooper masks, and that was about it until about the mid-60s when it really took off.

That's when we had the monster craze, and that's when Don Post Studios made some of the best monster masks that. Were ever made. Yeah. We're really excited about this. We've been working on this documentary for roughly about three years.

It's the first in a series. We're calling it Legends of Film and Fantasy. The next one that will be out after this will be Makeup Wizards and then Early Days of fantasy and horror films, which we've got interviews with Kylo Lemley, Leonard Malt, and many others. So we've got about 50 interviews already done that we're going to uh, put into packages of certain areas of film, uh, fantasy film and horror. So, uh, we won't, we'll be releasing them maybe once every year or two.

And because these are a lot to compile because it is not just the interviews, but like I'm talking to you, you've got to edit it. You have to tighten it up. And it really makes it much more concise and more entertaining. Our documentaries, we try to make very informative and we're. Very, very accurate trying to get the facts right on everything.

But we also feel it's important to make them entertaining. And that's why we included Zach. in this, and he makes these goofy models that never turn out right, but it makes it fun, and it shows you how much fun this collecting is, the building models is, and I hope that younger people, when they see this, all they've been doing is sitting in front of a computer screen they realize let's use our hands let's be creative let's try to make something you may not be the best model maker in the world you may not be the. Best painter in the world but at least you've done something that you can put. On your shelf and you can say I did that And it may not be the best one that anybody ever did, but it's yours.

And it's something you accomplished. Yeah, it's something that, yeah, kids now, it's very different. Yeah, it probably is necessary to almost go out of your way to encourage them to do stuff like that. That's what I feel. And that's one of the reasons why we did this.

But another reason is to make people aware of such wonderful artists such as Ray Myers and also people like Andy Yanchis, who, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be enjoying... the the aurora kits today because they began it and luckily other companies have brought it back to us like polar lights and mobius and uh but let's face it in the beginning if they hadn't done this we wouldn't have them you know and i think it's important to uh make people aware of these wonderful artists that brought this to us in the first place. Definitely definitely As far as people finding it, is it something that's just getting released straight to DVD? Yes, it's going to be right on DVD immediately. We will have it available very soon through our website, which is www.preservehollywood.org or just look for the Witch's Dungeon website.

If you Google it, look for Witch's Dungeon in Bristol, Connecticut and you'll find it. Also, if People happen to be visiting in the fall in Bristol, Connecticut. We hope they'll come see the Witch's Dungeon. That way you can see life-size Aurora model kits and scenes from the movies. Nice.

Because 8-inch model kits for me, I needed them much bigger. You can't be frightened of. A little model kit. I wanted them life-size. That's how it all began, and that's why I love this stuff.

And thanks again to Cortland for talking to us this week. Again, if you're into monsters or models or any level of movie geekdom it's it's a pretty fascinating movie to watch and they've done a good job putting it together and they keep it pretty fun with with all the uh the hosts interacting in between the segments so yeah it's it's a lot of fun and i would definitely say to check it out do we have anything else in this part of the show we want to move We've veered off in many directions along the way here. Michael's shopping instead. Well, if we can contain Misty from shopping, I think we're going to go watch the movie. So we invite you to come back and join us for our second half of this episode as we go into the... sofa theater and watch the original mind you don't go watch the wrong one no the original april fool's day so come back and join.
