So this latest episode is an exclusive episode just for the members of the meltdown horror club which by the way do you guys know that we have new members. We do now granted we had one maybe around the last time we recorded there was a new party but since then in the last two weeks we've had two new people sweet welcome so hi new people if nothing else thank you for joining and for supporting us and another little notice that you yourself if you're sitting there not part of the crew you could join up right now and you could be one of those people and we would be very appreciative of you as well but yeah I thought that was cool And one of them has already given us a movie to put on the list. Well, sweet.

So, you see, this is one of the benefits. If you join up, you get to give us a movie to add to our constantly rotating, rolling the die, figuring out where we're going next list. And he's picked one, and in my opinion, it's a good movie. Unlike most of the other things I usually throw out in this little promo. So, in looking today...

Like I said, most of the ones we've been doing since we started this craziness is stuff that I will find out in the real world. Physical media. I keep looking for it. I keep buying it. I'm out of control at this point.

I don't even know where to put it anymore. And I just, it's so damn cheap. They're just giving them away. So I'll usually, but the weird thing is when I find one, I'm like, I'm not even familiar with it. And I'm like, how is this a thing?

All I do is talk about movies. Most of the stuff I've at least heard of. So when I see one, I don't know. I'm like, what the hell is this? That's usually where we land on these.

So this one, I was going through the ones I've seen recently, and I picked this one because it looks like it's kind of a James Wan knockoff. Ooh. Let me just show you the cover here of The Summoning. The Summoning. Oh.

Which you'll notice the first word is conjure, and then over here it ends in inge. So I think they're playing with the, if you just kind of glance, Conjuring. Hey, I like the Conjuring. I never would have picked up on that. See, it's subtle.

Sneaky. Sneaky advertising. That's what it's all about. They're being much too vague. Well, and I think that's what a lot of the knockoffs kind of go with.

They're like, let's pick a photo that kind of looks like the same poster, or the font will be similar, or the title is kind of similar. So yeah, the tagline is Conjure the Dead, Evil Will Rise. That's the most vague tagline. That's how you do it. So then you can apply it towards whatever the hell you want.

There's another poster for it that clearly is ripping off what lies beneath. Yeah. Oh. Which all that is is you turn something upside down. But, I mean...

I don't know. So I was going by the description here, if you flip it over. Or was it so as below? I think it looks, that poster looks more like that. So when were they in Paris?

That's where I'm looking for. They're in the catacombs. But this, the description. It's not the worst idea. We've ended up on some terrible things.

So this could be- Three out of 10 on IMDB? This one says- Not bad. A group of people attempting to communicate with the underworld find themselves in the presence of three spirits, a father, mother, and a child. Huh. When's yours from?

Is yours from 2017? See, that's the thing. If you look it up on IMDb, those are totally different movies. Because I kept looking. One has Eric Roberts in it, and I'm like, this is not an Eric Roberts movie.

That's what I was curious about, because this summary is completely different. And if you look at the names, I feel like... This was not shot in America. So, one by one, the group members are possessed by the spirits, revealing horrifying secrets from the past. Trapped and under attack from these violent entities, only one member of the group may hold the key to exercising the spirits out of the mansion for good.

Don't you want us to watch that? Kind of, I mean. I guess. Maybe? Anyway...

The point of all this is you probably know of way better movies than any of those that we rattle off when we do this. So you probably would rather give us a much better movie that we could watch. Otherwise, we'll end up with The Summoning. Or even if you think you can come up with a movie that's way worse than. Anything we've watched.

Quite possibly. I don't know. Some of them. That's what was funny. This last... this weekend I think I kept seeing and it's so much of these kind of movies that the lower end of the ones we've watched we just watched streaming I kept seeing physical versions of them and I was like remember that weird Topher Grace.

Movie yeah I saw a physical version. Of it I was like DVDs of this like I didn't think they'd shell out that kind of fancy two cents a disc money but There was that one, and there was one of... Oh, the Malignant, or whatever that kids in the house one is. Malevolent? Malevolent.

That was my problem, is they all... It was three titles that were all. The Topher Grace one was like delirium. Delirium. The Ghost Hunter one was malevolent.

It's got... What's her face in it? She's super popular now. Yeah, Florence Pugh. Yeah, Florence Pugh.

And that was the best part of that movie. She was good in it, but... It was not a great movie. So again, physical version of that yesterday. I was just like, what the hell?

Like, I don't need these. I've already seen this garbage. So yeah, that was my takeaway. You can give us a much better movie and then I won't have to go out in the world and buy a physical copy of some weird movie with Topher Grace. But you probably will.

I probably will. I might have a copy of Spider-Man 3 laying around. But don't pick that one, for God's sakes. That's a horror movie. It kind of is.

Even Marvel people think that's a horror movie. So, yeah. If nothing else, you know, in the meantime, you can hear us say amazing things like this. We're literally sitting a few feet away from a pumpkin patch. It's seasonal.

I think by next week. You'll be in the middle. Of a pumpkin. I mean, I, for a while, I kept making reference that I thought Audrey too lived outside the door and was going to come and eat me. So I've kept an eye on what's going on out there, but it kept spreading, but it wasn't getting bigger in that sense.

It just kept spreading wider. So now it's taken over that whole area and the area across the sidewalk and it's, it's sprouted pumpkins now. So we're, yeah, we're probably gonna be attacked by pumpkin monsters i don't know i only assume eventually though you don't carve a jack-o'-lantern it just becomes a jack-o'-lantern right that's what i thought it tries to eat. You and i'm a dehydrated husk of a person but that works because this movie is about husks of people that's true yeah so i'm on theme. Knowing you, I expected you to be excited.

Sure. I think this is what a lot of my whole thing with the movie as I went on, and we can elaborate on many other things, but my overall thing going in was like. It is a young woman in a pink cardigan sweater with a backing band of what appears to be a guy on a guitar and a girl on a theremin, I assume. So I can only imagine that that's fantastic. Like, yeah, you already publicly executed her.

Why do you care to follow through with what's in her will? I know we murdered her and all, but we gotta do this the right way. Yeah. That guy's just a really bad cop. I mean, first of all, he's clearly out of his jurisdiction.

And it's important that I use the words it's a normal human family who some strange occurrences happen to them that I don't want to You guys would just be like, what the fuck? So some strange things happen to them, and then it jumps to the next story, which is an anthropomorphic mouse. Exactly. This giant package shows up with no address, just his name handwritten on it. In this post-9-11 people-mailing anthrax world, let's just open this up.

And then. What the hell just happened and how did we get to that moment huh and why aren't we wrapping it up why are we just moving along something had to have happened after that. And what we find out is his wife was also a witch and she'd been protecting him the entire time so she has this secret life that he doesn't know about that is like fighting off monsters and keeping the town safe from evil and like he has no idea this is going on It was weird. It's fun. It's about scary mannequins and roadside attractions.

Running theme in my life. Yeah. And I love a good mannequin movie. I do love roadside attractions. I can take or leave mannequin movies.

It's a fun one. Mannequin 2 on the move. I mean, that's pretty awesome. Time travel and mannequins. What more do you want?

What about Colin Robinson? I know. You've got to figure out what's going on. Let me tell you, you're not prepared for what's going on. And so you probably don't know the special connection our friend Donnie from this movie has with our town that we're currently sitting in.

No, but now I'm excited. It became the new JAG. Ambient noise ceases. No, you're trying to rhyme those two words? You gotta sing. those for the boys overseas can't have rubber can't have chocolate this place sucks can't even rhyme even the camera work where they go from like one room to the other and it just passes through the wall like james well did and then you've even got like the burning building like the burning windmill yeah I mean, she's clearly so precise at building ventriloquist dummies.

Surely you'd think that she could sew a bunch of tongues together. The rest of it is effective. Like, each thing is super effective and creepy and does its own little weird thing. But, like, by the time we get to the. Clearly he doesn't have a modern computer.

He uses a typewriter from 50 years ago. Just like our corner. Everything in this town. Every accessory we have in this world is from 50 years ago. That's impressive, man.

They bothered to explain where the soup goes, because they knew you and I would be here going, what about the soup? So, go to MovieMeltdown.com, join the Meltdown Horror Club. You can give us a much better movie to watch, and then you can listen to us talk about it, because you'll be part of the club. I don't want to be your darling. I'm not straight, I'm not free, honey.
