I'm Jake. I'm Misty. I'm Greg. And we're back for the fourth annual Movie Meltdown Holiday Special. Good God, has it really been that long?
Four freaking episodes of this version. I don't know. It's kind of amazing. We've lost some. We've gained some.
We've gained some. It's rotating, damn it. It's rotating. Some are probably in a ditch somewhere at this point. Could very well be, yeah.
Might really be lost. Eh, whatever. So, it being a holiday... You know what's coming. Candy?
Ghosts? Ghosts? Oh, no. Oh, my God. I just ate, like, ten pieces.
That's your own fault. You know this routine. You have to have the ghost bowl. You need a Santa hat with a ghost. No, we decided last year he's the ghost of Christmas past.
Oh, yeah. When we have hot chocolate, I have, I don't know if they're stale or not, but I have some ghost marshmallows. Stale marshmallows are the best anyways. I don't know what it is about marshmallows. Candy bars?
Wow. And we just had to eat them. We know that. I'm gonna have to go run for like six hours. I don't think so.
You're gonna run to wherever you're going? Wherever you're going. Where are you going? Oldham? Oldham County?
You're gonna run there. Oh, you're gonna get the sound of the pour? Oh, look at the. Oh, it's like. You want the dark chocolate?
I hate dark chocolate. Oh, I do like dark chocolate. I want all the dark chocolate. Give me the dark chocolate. Oh, what's this one?
That's a regular Milky Way. Oh, I love regular Milky Way. Why are the Snickers different colors? Are they flavored? Eat one and find out, I guess.
I'm only going to eat one now. Here's the holiday. We have peppermint, too, so throw some peppermint. Peppermint patties. I like peppermint patties.
I'm only going to eat one now, otherwise I'm totally going to hurl, and that would not be good. Well, I had spaghetti, so it would at least be somewhat festive, I guess, bread. Unless you ate something green to go with it, and I know better than that. With the garlic salt, it had some green. Flakes in it.
It's not like there was a salad involved. I know better than that. That's what I say. That's why I know better. I'm going to steal another peppermint patty.
I do like peppermint patties. So for weeks and weeks now, Misty has been pushing a specific product, and I figured we'd have to save up until the holiday special to bust this out. So, Misty. Shake it. Hold on.
Tell them what you're dealing with here. I got some fucking handful of red velvet milk right here, bitches. It's old-fashioned. The one I got wasn't old-fashioned, so I don't know if this is going to be different. It might be.
All right. Hold on. Explore it. I think I'm just going to talk right here. Experience a new twist on an old recipe.
Enjoy our unique red velvet milk. Whether it's chilled or warm. Ew, that's disgusting. I fucking hate warm milk. Indulge in the taste and quality of the name brand.
We're not going to mention because they're not sponsored in any way. Alright, who wants some of this here? Fire it up? Just a taste. I just ate a whole bunch of stuff.
I ain't going to. Have that much. How much do you. Want? Keep going.
It's so thick. That looks good. This looks like paint. It looks like the cake mix. It looks like paint.
Was there a chunk in there? It's got cake in it. I think you're good. Sometimes it just doesn't. I'm pretty sure there's.
A chunk of something in there. That's enough for a taste. I'm pretty convinced this is just cake batter. That much. It's got part of the same amount every time.
Whatever. Have you had any of it yet? Nope. It's slightly different than the Target brand, but not too much. I think the Target brand's a little sweeter.
It's pretty thick. It's almost as thick as, like, an eggnog. But not slimy like an eggnog. I hate eggnog. I like soy nog.
It's okay. Soy nog. Mmm. Red velvet milk. And it's delicious.
We had the waffles the other day, too. They were very dense. That's what I was going to say. This morning, that's what I had for breakfast. Red velvet cake waffles.
I had red velvet cake waffles. They were animal shaped. No. Okay, I remember mine because I had them this morning. And they came out of the Powerpuff Girl waffle maker.
Oh, nice. It was pretty awesome. Right after I bought them. Right after I bought the milk the first time. Do we have syrup with it?
It came with a mix. It came with the stuff. It came with the cream cheese topping stuff that I didn't make. Oh, yeah. Okay, yeah.
Okay. They were good. They were. Damn it. Four years of that.
Which is what I go through on a daily goddamn basis. So yes, this morning I also had red velvet waffles. Weren't they good? They were a little bit denser than regular waffles. Yeah, it was different.
It's not like the milk. The milk actually has a pretty different flavor. They were very red. I was worried that if I had red velvet milk and red velvet waffles that it would have the same effect as blueberry. It does.
You know. We need to leave that alone. I made my friend a red velvet birthday cake. Put this in the fridge. For his birthday in April.
It was shaped like a garbage bucket. Red velvet cake is extremely hard to make from scratch. That's why I didn't try. And that fucker never even cut the cake. It's just like whole pieces.
In his refrigerator. I was like, if I would have known that you weren't ever going to even eat the cake, I would have made it out of box cake. It was labor intensive and hard and expensive to make. And he never even ate a piece of it. Well, it does tie in because that was the cake that you brought to Fright Night.
It was red velvet cake. That we sat in the middle of the festival eating cake. That was from Kroger. It was still good. It was still red velvet cake.
I love red velvet cake. It's my favorite. If I make a cake, it's usually a red velvet cake. I like it too. Because if I'm going to do something, I want it to be hard.
You didn't make your own ice cream. Yeah, I'm going to do something. I want it to be hard. I'm just making things as difficult as possible. That's just how I'm used to my life being.
And if it's not, I'm, like, confused and concerned. I always look around the box because I'm lazy. I make the ice cream. Thank you for the red velvet. It was very good.
It was delicious. Mm-hmm. It coats the mouth, doesn't it? No, it does. It coats the glass.
It coats everything. We should thank Jesse for alerting me of the red velvet cake, for which I had to go on an excursion and try to find it. It was my vast disappointment when our backwards-ass targets down here didn't get him until, like, two weeks after Indianapolis did. Takes a while. I noticed.
And the happy dance it is in the middle of the party. So, yeah, this is sort of... We decided to do, like, a whole... conglomeration since it all falls pretty much at the same time it's you know it's our our anniversary we also just crossed the 150 episode mark just a couple episodes back so that's also pretty ridiculous yeah and um i i guess you know it's christmas i. Love christmas even though where i work would make it suck otherwise but i do love christmas. And i figured just to Embrace all of the cultures.
I mean, technically, this one's coming out right about the time of Hanukkah, so I thought we can also have our happy Hanukkah celebration. Bring a menorah. No, we get this. A dreidel. Fucking A.
What the hell does that mean? I don't know what it means. Yahtzee. Sorry, people of the Jewish faith. I was actually looking at it.
I'm trying to broaden my horizons here. There's nun, gimel, hay, and shin on each side. And it's actually like a whole game. And, you know, you have to like bet basically. And then if you're one of them comes up, you don't get anything.
One of them, you have to pay somebody. One of them, you put more back in. So, it yeah it's like a whole it's a complicated game i didn't realize it was that complicated i thought it was kind of like a top sounds like stupid non-jewish people feed the cat feed the cat yeah kind of feed the cat take the cat yeah so i thought yeah i thought it was it was kind of fun and it makes noise so it works on an audio. Program i saw can i spin the dreidel spin the dreidel I saw it play at the Jewish Community Center a couple weeks ago. It's about as Jewish.
It's as in-depth as my Jewish knowledge is. Hey, roll a five. It looks like a twig to me. It's like my elf takes damage. You can play dice with it during the roll.
Sorry, people of the Jewish faith. You have a 20-sided draggle. D & D with draggles. I figured it also ties in. Our show is centered around the entertainment industry.
A good portion of our favorite people are Jewish, so I thought we should... No! Also, the hell you say, I know. They're Scientologists. Those are the only two.
I mean, there's, yeah, the celebrities that are Jewish, the celebrities that are Scientologists, and Mel Gibson. That's pretty much all you get, really. Did you bring anything to celebrate Kwanzaa, or are you assuming that we have anything? No, and that's the other one. They don't have a fun toy that I know of.
If they do, you know, guys pass along. All they've got is candles, which, again, kind of seems ripped off from Judaism. But anyway, I don't know. Hate mail alert. Yeah.
Well, no, that's my problem with that, and it's because you can remember it. It's just the same thing I said about Scientology. So, I mean, your religion or your holiday, if anybody, if you or anybody you know can remember when it didn't exist, you kind of, it's hard. You have to question it, don't you? I mean.
If somebody just randomly comes up with a holiday, you're like, wait, wait, wait, wait a minute. If it's made by a Berkeley professor. Yeah, it's a professor in the 60s. I'm like, hmm, at least, you know, these other ones have been around. Do psychologists have holidays?
Are they allowed to have holidays? Does the aliens bring the presents? Just send your check day. I think that's it. My daughter, she's in second grade.
She was talking about not being able to have a tree at school, which. you know, no big deal. And we explained that to her and she has a friend that's Jewish and was talking about that. And, and well, they could have, we, we, you know, we could have a tree and she could have a menorah and, That's a good idea, but what about all the people that don't believe in anything? And she goes, well, they can have nothing. That's what I was just.
Exactly. I obviously think like a grade schooler. If they believe in nothing, then they can have nothing. Embrace your nothing, then. I'm putting my Festivus pole over here.
Screw you guys. I don't believe in anything. I still have a Christmas tree. Me too. And I'm not offended by anybody else's.
I love Christmas. I'm... Not a, you know. Just. What we grew up with.
Well, and that's what I took it as. It's like, you know, I have no problem with Kwanzaa or Hanukkah or any of it, because to me, Christmas doesn't even have any religious overtones. To me, it's enough. It's all, yeah, it's all, you know, Christmas trees and Santa Claus. Well, the Christmas tree can just be a pretty Christmas tree if you want it to be.
You don't have to go into backstory on any of it if you don't want to. Santa Claus was invented by Coca-Cola, so fuck anybody that has a problem with the backstory on him, because there isn't one really. It's so manufactured at this point. To me, you can celebrate Christmas as just a Christmas thing. It's just the act of it, not really any religious nonsense.
I like Krampus. I want to have Krampus Fest. What is this? Krampus is like this devil that is like Santa's friend. Yeah, he's the one who punishes all the bad kids.
Yeah, it's a bad hell out there. It's like a month or something. Krampus month. Krampus comes once a month. Yeah, that's what I said.
There was a book about Krampus on Bill's coffee table on Thanksgiving, and I picked it up, and I was like, Krampus visits me once a month. Well, you know, um. Solstice celebrations were going on long before Christianity existed. Yeah. And for me, just, winter, you know, January and February are so bleak anyway that having lights up and some place to go and different music and stuff to do and so what, whatever your religion is, throw out the religion and just enjoy yourselves and if it's an excuse to be nice to people, good.
Well, like, most religious things holidays were pagan holidays to begin with and religion had just kind of taken over the pagan holidays to kind of push it out of the light you know Christ's birthday really isn't December 25th like most people think. Again it's all sort of part of the show so you can buy into the religious end if you want to or again Santa Claus. You know, how does Santa Claus tie into the Jesus part of it? Not at all, but he's on ten times as much stuff as Jesus. Well, it depends.
I mean, if you ask Kristen Stewart. Wait, wait. Bite your lip. Okay, now do her. Did you watch the Kristen Stewart Explains Christmas?
Yes. No, it's not really her. Well, you YouTube Kristen Stewart Explains Christmas. Do your impersonation of her, Misty. Misty is biting her lip.
You have to look up, though. Look down. Oh, is it down? Discover your hair. Discover your hair.
Oh, my God. You just got that. Wow. What was it now? What did, uh, the, uh, the old Terry killed baby Jesus.
No, they crucified him. They crucified him. Baby Jesus. And then, uh, Santa Claus brought him back from the dead. Yeah, because, yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Pilgrims. Because they're pilgrims. They're pilgrims, but an Indian.
Wow. So, once again, we can all learn something from Kristen Stewart in that it doesn't really have to mean anything. You just have a good time with it if you want to. So, you know, celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, what was yours again? Krampus.
Just quit being so pissed at everybody else that wants. To celebrate this shit. Can't we all get along? Jesus. And even if it is the people that are you know, oh, it's so commercial, or it's, you know, they're not, you know, Christ isn't in Christmas.
Who cares? At least somebody's, like I said, being nice to other people. Again, I don't, yeah, I, they complain about the commercial, and to the point, I've sort of accepted that so much, I don't notice that either. Like, again, you only are, like, weighed down by that if you totally buy into it. Yeah, this guy was sitting outside, there was, like, this really annoying thing at my work last Saturday, and this guy said, I say Merry Christmas because it's America.
I don't remember what his reasoning was, but it's just like, people say happy holidays, you stupid fuck, because it's like, there's Christmas, there's New Year's, there's like tons of different holidays that people celebrate. Fuckwad. Yeah, I mean, they were saying happy holidays before things became PC, and they tried to include other... Back when we were closed-minded jackasses, they were still using that just to sort of rope New Year's into it, too. So, I mean, now it really does sort of mean...
More of what it probably should have meant to begin with, which is to group everything together and be like, hey, whatever it is you're into, go have fun with it. It's America, yeah. But America is the melting pot. We've got all different religions, all different races, all different creeds. Everybody can celebrate their own shit.
Just don't force it. On somebody else. It's really funny. This girl that I worked with right before Thanksgiving, she was telling people Happy Thanksgiving. And then she was like. should I not tell people Happy Thanksgiving?
She's like, am I going to offend the Indians? Native Americans? Well, she's like, am I going to offend people? And I was like, it's not a... She's like, am I going to offend people?
Like, what if they're Jehovah's Witnesses? I was like, it's not a religious holiday. She goes, oh, yeah. She's like, is there anybody that I could offend? And I was like, Indians?
Non-thankful people? Non-thankful people. Non-thankful people. Canadians who celebrated it already. Well, they're Canadian.
They do stuff all wonky. Right, let's just rip on Canadians tonight. I like Canadians. As much as I talk shit about Canada, my favorite people are from Canada. That's what I'm saying.
Canadian and Jewish. Everybody we watch in these things, our favorite people are Canadian and Jewish. Are there any Canadian Jews? They might be my favorite people ever. And, uh.
Shatner and Nimoy, aren't both of them from Canada? They're both from Canada. No, I'm pretty sure they're both Jewish, too. Mark Singer's from Canada. I don't know about him.
Big Wolf on Campus. I don't love that show. I'm noticing a trend here. Yeah. He loves Canada.
Yeah, you do. I would think by now. I think it's like a... I mean, I've never been there, but it's a magical land in my mind. I'm almost afraid to go.
I figured it because that one guy from... Oh, one guy's from there. Full House. Dave Couillet. Oh, yeah.
Dave Couillet's bringing the whole country down. They kicked him out. Yeah, yeah. Good job, Canada. It's a shame you brought him here, though.
Can we deport Dave Couillet to some other country? I mean, he doesn't really need to be. Who's heard anything from him? His career deported him already is that what you're saying. Yeah i like dave coulier i hate him he was way more tolerable than the other guy on full house oh who's stamos stamos was hot stamos.
Was a rock star and bob saget's come around now now you watch him and he he's not retarded like he was on the show he's actually like a filthy stand-up well he was always a filthy yeah it's like but he totally bought into that like he was like well here's my meal ticket i'll clean it up and put it on. Tv at eight o'clock every week and yeah but he was still hanging out at the playboy. Yeah it's like he sold it so well that everybody bought it for like I mean, ten years after the show was off, people still thought he was like that. And then they saw him on stage. And he had America's Funniest Home Videos.
Everybody's like, oh, you know, we're going to get the kids together and watch America's Funniest Home Videos. Watch children fall on their face and we're going to laugh. It is hilarious. Or people fart. Yeah, it was such a squeaky clean image that he had that it's so funny to see him do a stand-up now.
So I've come around on him. I'm just like, okay. No, don't apologize for eating candy. I just don't care. Yeah, me neither, really.
But All right, are we ready to do some Geek Week? Yes, please. Yeah, let's go. Oh, that segment right there should have been longer. I know.
Oh, jeez. I know, do we need a break? Sure, let's take a break. I'll tell a tale, tale, tale, tale. Yeah.
Of Maccabees in Israel, El, El, El, El. Yeah. When the Greeks tried to assail, assail, assail, assail. Yeah. But it was all to.
No avail, avail, avail, avail. Yeah, yeah. The war went on and on and on until the mighty Greeks were gone. Yeah. I put my lockers in the air sometimes saying, spin the dreidel.
Just wanna celebrate for all. Eight nights Singing hey-oh, light the candle We say I'll have me some, oh yeah, for all. Eight nights When we play hey-oh, by the candlelight And I told you once, now I told you twice About the miracle of the candlelight They took the field, field, field, field Hi, I'm Kristen Stewart. In the latest Twilight movie, I very convincingly play a girl who's pregnant with a magical baby. Can you guys guess who that is?
Who also was pregnant with magical babies. Virgin Mary. After playing Belle, I realized I have a lot in common with the Virgin Mary, and so I thought for the holidays that I would tell the first story of the first Christmas. So one day this angel comes up to Mary and she's. Like, God thinks you're hot.
He wants to make a baby with you, so wear something nice. One thing I know about Women who are pregnant, they rub their stomachs constantly. I know that because that's how I played Bella. You just rub your stomach and then you gave this. Freaked out look.
In olden times, people had babies in hotels, but the hotel was booked because it was Christmas Eve. And so the hotel let them have their baby in a barn. So three pilgrims come with gifts. One is Frankenstein. A merman and then.
Gold from Jared's jewelry. Jared's has the best gold and diamonds. It was a nice gift. The pilgrims also brought Pocahontas and she helped birth the baby because Indians are really good at birthing outside. So baby Jesus comes out of Mary and he sees his own shadow and That's why we have winter.
So, like, right after Jesus saw his own shadow, the Volturi, like. Crucified him. Oh, my God. Literally. Whatever.
And so afterwards, to make everyone feel better, St. Nick got everybody presents. But they were all like, for Christmas, could you bring baby Jesus back from the dead? And he totally did. So Jesus is like a super magical baby.
With a beard. Merry Christmas. Hello, this is Tom Cade, the voice of the professor from The Powerpuff Girls. And you're listening to Movie Meltdown. Oh, I love it so.
Oh, no. What if I don't get my official Red Raider Carbine Action 200 Shot Rage Model Air Rifle? Merry Christmas, everybody. Merry Christmas. And a twisted New Year.
Yeah, we've been twisting Santa Twist Oh, yeah, twist Santa Twist Yeah, we've been twisting Santa Twist Oh, yeah, twist Santa Twist Now Merry Christmas To all of you Santa Twist Come on, let's twist Merry, merry, merry Merry. Christmas Come on, let's. Twist Merry, merry, merry Merry Christmas Come on, everybody Merry, merry. Merry. If we're getting into the geek week here, and again, I think this couple of times here, this week and next, we'll break them up.
I think I, Misty, and Jay will go ahead and get ours out of the way this time around. To tie in the Christmas theme, or whatever holiday you choose, but this one was Christmas. I watched And it just randomly came on. I was like, oh, I am watching the hell out of that. The Fat Albert Christmas Special.
Nice. Which I had not seen in, I don't even know how long, since it was probably actually playing on normal primetime, not cable rerun like it was here. I've never seen it. It's basically, yeah, if you haven't seen it, it's sort of like a mashup between Scrooge and the Nativity Story. Like there is a birth in a manger, we'll say, or clubhouse.
And, you know, a cranky old Scrooge character. And, like, they just jam it all together in this one half-hour show. Was it between a pair of unwed teenagers? No, just random passers-by. Oh, okay.
That's weird. That end up in it. It's such a weird thing that this show existed, really. I mean, it's... If you tried to pitch, like, a bunch of kids hanging out in a junkyard now, I'm just like, what network would be like...
No, no. That's irresponsible. Kids are going to start hanging out in junkyards. They're going to cut themselves. They're going to get some sort of tetanus.
Then we're going to get sued. Back to the whole racist thing. What is it in the 70s with America's fascination with black people hanging out in junkyards? Because I guess the fat white people that made these things thought that that's all they did. It was like, well, we need to make some black shows.
What do you think? Oh, yeah, what do they do? I don't know, hang out in junkyards? Seriously. I think that's the pitch right there.
I know. Sanford and Sen was awesome. I love that show. Hey, George Jefferson moved on up. Yeah, but he probably hung out in a junkyard before he came down here.
When he was a kid, maybe, and he played stickball, because I think I remember him talking about that. Did he play that one game where you roll the hoop? He wasn't young in the 30s i don't know he wasn't that young so yeah i don't know i i it was very strange watching it because it was especially after like we were talking about the uh the depressing background art show that lucy went and saw remember the that that was that i kind of focused on the background a little We can dreidel more when we're not recording. So yeah, I was probably watching the backgrounds a little more than I needed to, but it's entertaining. There's a couple of those guys in their outfits.
I'm still thoroughly convinced. Most of my childhood, I was thoroughly convinced Rudy was a girl. I'm still kind of on the fence. I think they're presenting it differently. I think they're saying it was a whole group of boys, but I read it that way from a child.
I was just like, and that one girl. And she wears that goofy hat all the time. And then what the hell is on that one? Rudy ended up being a girl on the Cosby Show. Well, there you go.
I'm sure he carried that over somehow. Because he knew I was thinking that. Me and Bill were just linked. Up like that. With the pudding.
With the pudding bops. Why didn't they get rid of pudding pops? What the fuck? We'll make our own. Why did they not make pudding pops?
When did this happen? I don't know. They just disappeared from the shelves. I didn't think about it. We were looking for them.
They probably couldn't freeze them without high levels of trans fat. That's the best part. I bet that's it. Maybe. I don't know.
It's probably like, well, we can't get these and sell them. They're going to shut us down. Pudding pots. Why don't we just take pudding and put it in the freezer? That's what you do.
That's how you make them. You get those little molds and, yeah. So, yeah, next Christmas. There you go. Why do I have to wait till christmas it's a holiday special i have.
Like a ton of popsicle molds why am i. Not so yeah the only thing uh i watched outside of that that was at least movie related not really christmassy but um i did watch the siege have you seen the siege I remembered it from years ago, but I never watched it. I just remembered the trailer when it came out, and I remember the video box on the shelf as we worked at the video store, but I don't think I'd ever gotten around to watching it. So watching it. It didn't involve humans at all as a cook, did it?
No, there's no under as well. Alright, that's what I thought it was. I was like thinking, I was like. I'm not even placing it right now. I don't remember the movie.
It's Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, and Bruce Willis. Yeah. Yeah, you'll remember the Bruce Willis part. Well, no, it's... I.
Know Steven Seagal, and I'm not going to watch it. Specifically now, it's very strange watching it, because this movie was made in 1998. Keep that in mind when you go into the story, which is about Muslim terrorists attacking New York. Mm-hmm. It's really weird to watch it now.
Maybe that's where they got the idea from. It might be. Which, you know. Kind of like watching others is weird to watch. They're like, he just brought a gun to school.
They're not going to. Kick him out. Yeah. That's totally cool. Or watching, like I said, escape from New York and they fly a plane onto it.
Onto their World Trade Center. Well, yeah. Again, you get that shot. Like, every time they pan across the city, there they are, looming in the background. I'm like, oh, that's weird anyway.
But. Even more so when you've got, like, terrorists blowing shit up through the whole movie. I mean, really, where was Bruce Willis when the 9-11 terror attacks were happening? Where the fuck was he? Yeah, that's in L.A.
Nakatomi's in L.A. Making fists with his toes, that's what he was doing. That's how you wind down. So, here's the... I mean, it really is kind of strange when they start, like, listing off, like, the statistics and stuff.
I mean, basically, at one point, like, there's this... bomb that goes off and the news reporters are all going on and on about how this is the, the biggest like attack on American soil ever. And like 40 people die. I'm just like, Oh, this seems like such an innocent time. It's just like, it's very hard watching it. Not going, you guys don't even know what the hell you're doing.
Give it a couple of years. So yeah, that, that, that I think was probably the most interesting thing about it. Cause then when I watch it, I'm just like, I kind of feel like there needs to be more going on. Like, by the end, it's not even, because the part that always sounded interesting to me in the pitch, you know, watching the trailer, is like, midway in, they're like, okay, we know stuff's going on here, so they freaking lock down New York City. Like, they close off the bridges, and they start, you know, it's basically, you know, they just quarantine off an entire city and start looking for terrorists.
And I'm like, okay, that sounds like it could be a really cool alternate way to go in history, and This could be interesting, and they do, and it becomes frighteningly mirrored to previous wars because we start putting people in detention camps because of the race that they are. So, yeah, I mean, that becomes the real focus of it. By the end, it's actually a lot more about, like, human rights. I mean, they start taking people out and, you know, throwing them off in the camps and, like, separating families and, you know, basically, once again... Now it seems really weird to watch somebody get in trouble for torturing people to get information out of them.
I was like, this movie was way ahead of its time. I don't know if it's in a good way. This is a government's rule, like, playbook. I think so. They were just like, what do we need to do in the next couple of years?
Get ourselves in trouble. I don't want to suddenly disappear. Ah, you gotta do more of that. So, yeah, that was very interesting from that aspect. But the rest of it, yeah, that last half just becomes, you know, them arguing about, you know, human rights and this isn't, you know, this isn't right.
You shouldn't do that. And it's kind of boring. It's kind of boring. Yeah. I mean, it is.
It's a sad thing. Like, it seems like it would be a better setup. And then you get midway in and it's just them running around trying to figure out what's going on. And, yeah, it gets kind of boring. So it's...
And Annette Bening is really annoying. Not that she isn't a lot of her career. We brought that up before. You know, I really like that movie where she had that kid that gets abducted by Robert Downey Jr. I love that movie.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you know which movie? I would say it's called End Dreams. Okay, yeah. I kind of remember that one.
And this also had Tony Shalhoub, your favorite guy. And I don't think I'd ever thought about what his nationality was. I don't like that. Yeah, was he like Lebanese maybe? Yeah, I think he was.
I was just kind of like, huh. He was always like of the monk race. I mean, I just never thought about it. He's a Shalhoub. He's a total Shalhoub.
So I never really thought about it. I was just like, I'd never put one way or the other. Like, I never even picked anything for him. I was just like, he's Tony Shalhoub. You assign it to him, I suppose.
I mean, you see people walk by, you kind of go, oh, uh-huh. Brian just assigned the other. In his brain. There's an other checkbox? Yeah.
They're trying to take those off the forums now. What was he on wings? Other. I think so. Cab driver.
That's its own. He was good in Galaxy Quest. He's not bad, really. He's just... My.
Only problem with Shalhoub is that for some reason, I would stay up late to try to watch How I Met Your Mother... reruns and they would play Monk like once or twice a month they would play Monk for no reason. I would get very upset. Just to mess with you. Now they've got instant you can watch How I Met Your Mother and I don't watch it. I have access and I don't watch it.
It takes the novelty out then. It's different when it's just on. So yeah, that's pretty much what I watched. Miss DJ, you want to run with us? We watched the Six seasons of Supernatural, and then we've turned around and started again.
Because I love that show. You're holding off on seven, though. I'm kind of upset with seven, because one of my favorite characters dies, from what I've heard. You're cheating. You're not supposed to know that yet.
I know, but I don't have the patience to actually watch a show when it's on television. I have to wait until it's done, and then I can get the whole thing, and then watch it. Because I like to watch it when I want to watch it. This doesn't surprise me. This is very Misty mentality.
God damn it. I want to watch it when I want to watch it. I don't have to wait every week. I feel like that, too. It sounds about right, yep.
And then I'm like, what if I miss it? Then I'm fucked, you know? I want to have it and be able to watch it at my own leisure. Pause it, get some ice cream, sit back down. Pause it when Dean takes his shirt off or whatever.
But yeah, I love this show. Rich Dean. Dean Dean Dean. Of Supernatural Dean from Supernatural not Dean from Gilmore. Girls that's way too confusing I'm just now getting to the point where I can figure out which one it took me six fucking seasons to be able to say that's Sam and that's Dean and get it right.
But yeah they really should have just scribbled out that name and put in another I know Johnny or Jimmy or something. I don't know I've been trying to watch the Supernatural animated animated series the anime or whatever it's all anime style But then it's got Jared Padalecki. I don't know how to say his name. It's all wrong. I think that's pretty close.
Padalecki. Sam. Sam does his voice, but then some other guy is doing Dean's voice. That's all. That's just wrong.
That throws you off. You couldn't afford Dean? Yeah, because his voiceover is so expensive. Because he's got. So much else to do.
That's what I was going to say, because he's so busy. Because he's worked so much since My Bloody Valentine, like three years ago. But it just throws me off, and the episodes are like 20 minutes, so they have to cram an entire episode into 20 minutes, and it's just... I mean, I'm not big on anime to begin with. I've never been able to get into it.
I don't like it. And I'm trying really hard, because I love Supernatural. We're broadening our horizons. I'm trying. Oh, sorry.
I'm fighting it. I really am. That also sounds like us. Goddammit, it's like, I don't want to watch this, but I have to. So it's like, I'm angry.
It's got Sam and Dee. I know. I know. It's doing me off, because for a while, the first couple episodes were like mini-episodes, like they were based off the TV shows, so I could watch it and kind of compare it, and then they threw one that wasn't on the TV, and I'm like, I don't remember this ever fucking happening. Did I miss an episode?
So I was kind of freaking out. No, because you've watched both seasons more than one time, or all seasons more than one time, so I think you'd know. You're like, I don't want to watch this, but my stuffed werewolf is making me. Winchester, who's got his Christmas hat. Yeah, do you want to tell them about the Christmas hat?
He has one of his Christmas hats. I'm going to put a picture of it on his Facebook page. No. But the only people that will. See it will be me and Jay.
You can put it. Because me and Jay are the only ones that like it. We will post it for the Secret Circle. Okay. Which we did last time.
I'll still put it on his Facebook page because nobody else is a fan, so nobody else will see it anyways. We put it like we did with the Kiwis, which, by the way, I believe Randy's response once I sent him, because, of course, he's like king of the secret circle. And it was his kiwis. Well, that was the thing. I was like, I sent the picture of Winchester and kiwis, and that's what it said.
And his response was, oh, God, I ate those. What? When we were at Cincinnati, they had their food all about like they always do. And I took a picture of Winchester with Randy's kiwis. End of story.
So we haven't really watched anything else. but tell them what we did. I'll tell them what we did. We went and saw Guns N' Roses, which if anybody says anything bad about Guns N' Roses, you will get kicked out of my house. Well, not even that. Just in general, you guys listening, just keep your snide comments to yourself.
I'll put it this way, okay? Because I'm not a huge Guns N' Roses fan. I was more of a punk fan in high school. But a lot of the guys that I was in school with, I ran with a lot of the metal kids because there really wasn't much of any punk kids in my school. One of the guys gave me a Guns N.
Roses tape to listen to, and I thought it was pretty fucking awesome at the time. It's the best album ever. Yeah, it was. It is. Yeah, definitely by far one of the best albums I'd ever heard. um, you know, you could say what you want about Axl Rose.
Yeah. Maybe he's a jackass. Um, and maybe not always great to his fans and stuff like that. And he did kind of get lax and GNR just kind of fell by the wayside a few years, you know. More than a few years.
Yeah. And, and he became a little bit of a joke. Um, He came back on and had gained weight and his voice wasn't as good and. Stuff like that. And so everybody was making fun of him.
And the braids. And the braids. Those braids were terrible, I'm sorry. And wasn't he bald and had red hair and was fat? Yeah, something like that.
I don't remember. Either way, the picture that surfaced on the internet, that was not the Axl Rose that we saw Friday night. The Axl Rose that we saw Friday night was a lot like the Axl Rose that I remember from early 90s, jumping around, running around. He wasn't in that shape exactly. He wasn't in that shape.
He was in a lot better shape. His voice was fucking amazing. It was Axl Rose. I've been to some pretty good concerts, and by far, what I told Misty, this was the best fucking concert I've ever been to in my life. I was completely blown away.
Almost literally, there were fireballs. Yeah, there was. And I told her, she goes, do you think there'll be fireworks? And I was like, no, probably not. They had fucking fireworks, pyrotechnics, fucking flamethrowers that you could feel the heat off of from where we were sitting.
Because I was like, if we're going to go see them, we're not going to get the shit seats. We're going to sit pretty close. We're going to fucking see X. Huge, huge screens. We're underneath one of them.
Yeah, we're underneath one of them. But yeah, I mean. God, the show was amazing. His voice was great. The songs were awesome.
It was fast-paced. He was in a good mood, it seemed like. No bitchy rants. No bitchy rants or anything. He played for almost three hours.
When was the last time you were at a concert where somebody played for three hours almost non-stop? I mean, this guy. He kept up energy. He kept up energy. All the guys in the band kept up energy.
And it was like, from the moment they went on stage... with the exception of a couple slow songs that he played. It was fast-paced. The only slow songs he did were the ones people expected to hear, like November Rain, Don't Cry. You better do some motherfucking... That's the thing.
He didn't come out and just play Chinese Democracy and say, fuck you guys. Most people would, yeah. He came out, he played. Chinese Democracy was the first thing he played. Then he rolled right into Welcome to the Jungle and several other Appetite songs.
Yeah. But he played a good amount of Appetite. He did eight songs off Appetite. Eight out of twelve. Yeah, that's...
That's most of the album. That's pretty impressive. But he did, he did, it's like, For once, he kind of put away the Axl Rose, you know, I'll do whatever the fuck I want kind of attitude. And was like, this is what my fans want. This is what my fans want to see.
And this is what we're going to give them. Awesome. And, man, it was well worth the money that we paid for it. Get cold chills just thinking about it. It was fucking good.
And I told the guys at work because they were laughing about it. And one of the guys was like, so what about the X-Rose concert? Did he actually show up? And I told him, I was like, dude, it's the best fucking concert I've ever been to in my life. He was like, get out of here.
I was like, I showed him the video because the video was on YouTube. A couple people were taking videos and stuff like that. And, yeah. By far, I mean, they're back. Wow.
Everybody wants to give the whole It's not Guns N' Roses, it's Axl Rose and those other guys. And I'm like, to me, I'm sorry, but Guns N' Roses is Axl Rose. I mean, yeah, Slash was cool. I like Slash. I would like to see Guns N' Roses with Slash.
He's not the band to me. It wasn't Guns N' Slash. Does that mean Slash wasn't even the original guitar player? Or Slash and Roses. When you brought that up, I was like, okay, I guess the fact that none of those other guys were in the original.
Yeah, that's who they got famous with. I always get people, everybody wants to talk shit about Steve Perry and Journey. There was Journey before Steve Perry, but nobody gives a shit. But nobody wants to watch that now. I know, but to me, it's Axl Rose.
The guitar player they had was amazing. Yeah. DJ Ashbaugh. Yeah, he was good. He was really good.
Because they brought him out, and I was like, oh, God, they got another guy with a hat. I was like, oh, well, I guess they got rid of Slash. They had to go find another guy with a hat. Slash 2. Slash 2.0.
It's like a Hollywood rebooted Slash. But I don't know. I don't want to say. I don't know much of DJ Ashbaugh's background other than he was in the Bullet. Boys, right?
Yeah, he did some work. He wasn't originally in. The Bullet Boys. Did some work for him. So I don't know what his whole background is, but dude was fucking amazing on guitar.
He was good at. if not better than Slash on guitar. He had more personality. He had a lot more personality. Slash is kind of stood there. Slash, he's there.
He's Slash. He's kind of cool. He's quiet. He stands there. This guy was everywhere.
He was running. He was jumping from the upper part of the stage to the lower part of the stage. You couldn't keep up with the guy. He was everywhere. Is he smooth up in you?
You know, I don't know. I'm looking for a Bullet Boys reference. I was looking hard, by the way. There aren't many. I was afraid he was.
Going to be annoyed. Because I've been a Guns N' Roses fan since I can remember, so I'm like, I was going to be very judgmental. Yeah, he wasn't annoying at all. But he was hammy, but fun. Yeah, he was fun hammy.
Yeah, it was awesome. Like I said, I went into it with very, very low expectations. I'm like, what if I get there and Axl Rose doesn't show up? Or what if there's nobody at the show and he gets pissed? And half-asses it.
What if his voice isn't that good? What if he looks like Rip Torn? Yeah. That'd be awesome. Oh, jeez.
That would still be awesome. Confetti everywhere. There was confetti everywhere. That's what I'm saying. That's a show, man.
There's a rock show. Hello, it's time for Guns N' Roses. What is the end? I'm trying to think which song it was. It's got the really long note that he just.
Don't Cry. Don't Cry. He held that fucking note at the end, just like he did, you know, so many years ago. And I was just like, holy shit, he's still singing. He's like, and you're like, okay, is he done?
No, he's still singing. God damn it, look at that guy, he was still singing. You know, wow, that's cool. It was amazing. I was so excited.
Wow. I'm still excited. Yeah, she's still excited. I was happy she was, I was happy it turned out great, because I would have felt bad to take her, and it just be a complete, blow out like i. Said i had low expectations because like i said i didn't want to get too disappointed if something happened but yeah there was a there was a huge crowd it was like packed it was yeah it was a shit ton of people and it was.
Just we saw it in uh cincinnati's u.s bank stadium i think was yeah. I was kind of aggravated that our seats were like almost beside the stage i thought they were right but. It was still awesome it's okay That's not Axl's fault. Yeah, it wasn't Axl's fault. It was awesome.
I would probably pay to go see him again if they come through here again, which will probably be another 10 years. I don't know. If he makes enough money off of it, he'll do it again. That's true. He probably will.
I mean, we have the M Center now. I mean, everybody was jazzed. Everybody, I mean, everybody that I can think of that was around us were just like, oh, awesome. It was funny to see people that brought their kids, too. You know, so there's these, like, you know, 12, 13-year-old kids there.
And I think they even brought a little kid up on stage to play guitar. At one point. He wasn't actually playing guitar. Well, yeah, he wasn't playing guitar, but they brought him up on stage to play guitar. They shot him out of a cannon.
Yeah, whatever. It's a stage show. It was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better show. I was still excited because, I mean, that's one of the few things that I've ever needed to see.
But yeah, I was so fucking excited. I'm still excited. The only thing that kind of bugged me was the camera Nazi. Yeah, I didn't know if you were going to mention. The camera Nazi.
Yeah, the camera Nazi. So when I emailed the stadium, I'm like, can you take pictures? Because everybody knows Axl has a thing for cameras. For rules, I mean he jumped into a crowd after somebody You're like that can be me yeah, and so the actual arena email me back and like yeah, just regular point shoot You're good. I get there and like taking a picture of the opening band, which sucked anyways I.
Just wanted to see if I could get it was a test shot. I took like three pictures She's like, oh you can't have cameras. You can't have cameras. I'm like bitch. Oh Yeah.
She was like, I wrote the stadium and they told me I could have it. And she's like, no, you can use your cell phone. That's it. So we can have really crappy quality pictures. Yeah.
Can't have you can't have cameras whereas the guy sitting in front of us is using a fucking hand cannon you know sitting there taking pictures and she didn't. Say anything about it i don't think they said anything once guns and roses actually started yeah She went away. The girl next to me kept taking pictures. The girl was staring at me because the flash kept going off. She wanted to come get me.
She kind of had a little bit of an attitude power trip going on. Was it just because you had a flash? I wasn't using flash at all. She wasn't using anything. The chick next to her had a camera.
When I had mine, I wasn't using flash at all. She was standing up behind us, and I guess she saw Misty's screen from her camera and came down there to gripe at her about it. It's alright, it was a shitty opening band anyway. Yeah. But anyways, that and the prices of t-shirts was ridiculous.
Forty bucks for a t-shirt. They only had one girl's shirt, and... Didn't have the tour dates. Motherfucker, if I'm paying 40 goddamn dollars for a t-shirt from my concert, it better have the fucking tour dates on it. I want something better than I can buy at Walmart.
But she did get a t-shirt. In the parking lot. She got a t-shirt in the parking lot from a guy who pulled it out from underneath his jacket. It was tied around his waist. This guy, I've never seen.
I don't know how many t-shirts he had stuffed up in his coat. They were long sleeves. They were. He had to be long sleeve to tie around his waist. That was his strategy.
Well, that's the thing. I don't know if he was big or if he just had a shitload of t-shirts. Because he was wearing this huge coat. And she was like, Anita, what do you want? He's like 90 pounds.
Oh, he's small. She's like. He's like, he just pulled it out of his coat. He's like, oh, that's medium. That's a medium.
There's not even a size tag on it anywhere. They were all one size. They were all one size. He was like, I need a small. He's like, okay, here.
He said he didn't have a small. He said he had a medium. Well, if you fake it out like that. I'm afraid to wash it. It might fall apart.
Yeah, but you got a good story out of it, too. It was 20 bucks. It was long sleeve. Those were 50 bucks instead. Yeah.
And it was awesome. I'm excited still. I'm I love it. Me too. I would go see him again.
I love you sometimes. I was going to marry him when I was 12 years old. How's that working out for you? It didn't work out so well. Oh, well.
I would still marry him from when I was 12, but that probably wouldn't work out for us. I don't know if I'd go with that right now. No, the him from when I was 12 years old. So he has to marry you when you're 12 years old? No.
No. Him. She would marry him when he was. I know, that's how I originally read it, but then you restated it, and maybe we went, well, maybe this works both ways. 12-year-old, you would think that was awesome.
Yeah. He might think it's awesome, we don't know. You know, the people that I wanted to marry when I was really young, like Elijah Wood and Macaulay Culkin, they're both really gay. What is wrong with them? What was Elijah Wood in?
He was in Convertible. He's Frodo. No, he was tons of stuff. Oh, back then. North.
North. Oh, he was in every movie. Tom. They couldn't make a kid's movie. Without Elijah Moore.
Yeah. I mean, if there was a movie. He was. He was one of those go-to kids. Was he a fan or Tom sort?
I don't know. I never saw. See, I was already old then. But he was like any movie with a kid in it, in that 10 year span, he was the kid. Wow.
You know, so many people panned North. I actually have watched it again and really enjoyed it. I never saw it. It was way too much of like an indie movie, I think, for me when I was a. Kid editing it.
Well, yeah. It's been so long, I don't remember anything about it. I don't either. It just didn't make any sense at the time. Yeah.
Pretty sure he's gay. Macaulay Culkin's kind of gay, too. I don't know either of those. I don't know that either have been confirmed. I don't think it's confirmed, but...
He's getting all kinds of hot chicks. He was with What's-Her-Face for a while. Hey, Mila Kunis was with Macaulay Culkin one day together? Probably. I think Macaulay Culkin's actually less gay than Elijah Wood, who's probably actually gay.
I think Macaulay Culkin's just Kind of effeminate. I don't know. I always thought it was just Macaulay Culkin. I don't know. I never really read into whether he was.
I didn't care. I mean, he married that chick, so he was at least covering really good. That's Macaulay Culkin. He's just Macaulay Culkin. I don't know.
I guess people to me are just. He's not gay, he's just pale. He had an odd life from the time he was seven. Yeah, he really did. And you can tell by the kids in the family, they're all kind of odd.
They all got swept up in that ridiculous thing that happened to them. And they've got weird names. I think that messes up people. Kieran, Macaulay. There's another one.
Rory. Rory's not even that bad. But for a boy, it's weird. Macaulay? What kind of name is Macaulay?
That's like a last name. You can call him Mac. Terrible name. Macaulay. And he hung out with Michael Jackson.
That didn't turn out well for Michael, so. Right. So. For Michael, we haven't seen Faith Feldman for a while. Is he okay?
Every time I drive through here, I just, I'm like, okay, am I going to see the Feldman? You know it because he's wearing the hat. You always know he's always wearing the Feldman hat. Because I have to come through here about once a week to go over here to the bank, and this. Is the easiest way through.
He can tell you where he lives. I'm going to go hang out with him. Creepy. He's always walking up this street, and he goes up to the Kroger. And I know he's really into music.
He's a big Michael Jackson fan. He's a big Michael Jackson fan. He likes Kiss, too. And we need to get him on the show. I overheard him talking at Kroger.
That's it. Over cause I was I was texting I was texting Missy I was like holy crap I'm gonna say Miles fake velvet. That's what we do with our cats oh my god he can remember this from weeks ago but he can't remember the god damn red velvet. It's just funny that I'm sorry I hope I didn't spit on your. Arm You're that excited about fake Feldman, but you weren't that excited when we saw the actual Feldman.
You saw the real Feldman, and you were like, oh, hey, what's up? You're like, fake Feldman is right here. I don't know. Something's out of whack there. It's like I had to sign my name.
Well, maybe they're really split. Real Feldman's surrounded by bodyguards. Fake Feldman's not. I don't think I've had lunch in a long time. She can party.
We need to get fake Feldman a bodyguard. Yeah, yeah. It's just a matter of time. I wonder if fake Madonna is still around. Fake Madonna and fake Feldman, that would be epic.
I don't know that one girl who was kind of blonde. Which one? The one who was on the street with his fancy clothes. Oh, yeah, he had his fancy clothes on. They went up the subway.
That's what you do. No, there used to be, when I was a teenager and I worked at the mall, there used to be this, like, large girl who always had, like, cut off jean shorts and tights underneath them and this leather jacket no matter if it was 120 degrees in the middle of july and she had like a cassette tape player and headphones and this was like 2002 people didn't have cassette then but she would like walk up and down that oh and she had like one dangly cross but she danced She did, and she would sing Like a Virgin really loudly, and she thought she was like hot shit. I'm just like, it's 2002, you fucking retarded bitch. But she's doing classic Madonna, so she's got to have the classic hardware to go with it.
Did she have a boy toy back then? Probably. It sounds almost like it was a cross-dressing man that was dressing up as Madonna. I don't know. It seems like something that a.
You saw a Mike Feldman dance. Yeah, I did. I loved early Madonna. I ain't gonna lie. No, she was.
I'm so in love with her. I will go on record. She was badass in that mid-range, like, both. Like, she was kind of hot, but on top of that, like, she knew how to work where she was. Like, she worked the system so well that, I mean, she was completely in control of everything that happened in her career.
And that, like, I will give her credit. That's amazing, because most people cannot do that. How'd she get so old so fast? I'm so creepy. I don't know.
I don't think it was that fast. It's been 30, 40 years since that happens. It doesn't seem like it's been that fast. Yeah. It's crazy.
Oh. Anyway, that's the end of our Geek Week. Alright, so. Fucking love me some Guns N' Roses. And Madonna's sitting on Santa's lap right now.
Fake Feldman trumps real Feldman. Yeah, that's... Well, I got more of a shot at becoming fake Feldman's friend than real Feldman's friend. And you'd probably prefer it, actually. I thought you guys would probably.
Hame in there, baby. Oh, God. Yes, that's awesome. We should talk about the Hame game on Tumblr. Yeah, Fozzie, I showed it to her.
I think she'd already seen it. I'd already seen it, but I was. There were new ones today. There were new ones that I had not yet seen, and they were fantastic. I had not seen the Hame in there, which was...
I want to print it out and hang it on my wall, like poster size, like.... Yeah. It's going to be rowdy. Oh, poor Jay. You're going to have to look at that.
I don't care. Hame and a kitten every morning when you wake up. Damn it. I'm going to make it like ceiling size and put it on the ceiling. I can't see.
One more time. That's coming in handy. It's like 4 o'clock in the morning. It's dark in there. I can't see anything.
You always scare the hell out. Of me, too. I'm sorry. Especially when you're coming in your work uniform. I'm like, this is gas station attendant.
Why is he on my bedroom? Here, check your oil. No, don't check on the oil. Is that a double entendre? I don't even think it was a double.
I think it just went right for him. Not that he's a gas station attendant, but he wears a uniform. And when I'm half asleep, he looks like a gas station attendant. And he scares the hell out of me. Excuse me, Miss.
Can I check under your hood? Oh, Lord. Fill her up. Can I rotate your tires? Your legs go on your arm spot.
That would be awful. Your legs go on your arm spot. That would be awesome. You'd be like Sabuba. Sabuba.
Star Wars. The fucky one. the first yeah he was about the only tolerable thing in. That first movie watching any of that was pretty much it really. I discovered for my son the um he's five and into lightsabers i discovered um someone has taken the lightsaber duel from the phantom menace and cut it into just that scene on YouTube, and you can just watch that, and it's eight minutes, and I said, that's all you need to see from that movie. It really is.
And he goes, okay, what's the next one? So we started watching the second movie. It's true, because I went back because I got it on DVD almost for that, and then I went back to watch it, and I was like, damn it, I forgot it's so cut in with all this Amidala running around a freaking parking garage or wherever they were at. I can't remember what floor we parked on. I was like, what the hell is this?
I was like, just get back to the Darth Maul fight, because that's all that's good. So, yeah, it's good. Yeah, thank you, YouTube, once again. That was the only part that was worth watching. Yep, pretty much.
I fell asleep during it. Yep, just nudge you once you get to that part. Everything else is wasted in two hours. You know, it's like, what I think is really strange, I've seen Star Wars... I could not tell you how many times, but I cannot remember a single part from any Star Wars movie.
It's like, there's certain things that do not stick in my brain. It's card games, algebraic equations, and Star Wars movies. I'm only saying like once or twice each ever. I was not brought up on Star Wars. I was brought up on Star Wars.
I watched Empire every day. I was brought up to believe that the new three that Lucas brought out are completely they're garbage. I can't tell you anything that's happened in any of them. They don't exist in my world. But that's okay.
I think most fans fall into that category. I still think Revenge of the Sith is. It's tolerable. It's what I expected. It's the best of those three, obviously.
Is that the last one? That's the last one. I did see part of it. It was a bad bootleg copy. But that was right when it came out in the theater.
I didn't really feel like watching it. I fast-forwarded through a good majority of it right up to the end battle where he gets burned. And then I laughed most of it. Yeah, I laughed most of it. I was like, ah, Anakin's getting burned.
We maybe hate Hayden Christensen, like, severely. Has he been in anything else? He's in that one movie we watched that we hated because he was in it. Chapter? Vanishing on 7th Street.
Oh, yeah. It was stupid anyways, but he just made it worse with his face. That movie was horrible. You can rip apart me better than anybody I've ever met. This is that whole being brought up with no real emotions.
I hate you for what you do. I hate you for who you are. And what you look like. I hate who you are, so I can. See in you.
That's so deep of you. I am. I don't like your eyebrow. I've hated people for less. That's true.
That one girl in Supernatural, the way her mouth moves. Yeah. I hate her. She's like, God, I hate that bitch and her mouth. Stupid people with mouths.
Just the way her mouth works, I just hate her. I hate her genetics. Stupid people with mouths. That's the way she talks. It's me, Meg, the blonde Meg, before she becomes...
Never mind. Fuck you guys. No, I can't laugh. You're saying something funny? Oh, Lord.
Yeah. Blonde Meg. She hates blonde Meg from Supernatural. Is there more than one Meg? She's a demon, so she's in different bodies.
She jumps in another body. I don't like the one she's in later, but I. Don't like it. I don't like the way Sam's face twitches when he talks either. When he's going to cry, he moves his face.
Twitches. Yeah, I don't like it. Didn't you say he has a weird ear? I don't know. No, Jensen X was a short forehead.
I thought you. Said he had weird ears or something. You need like a program. You can't tell the players without a program and their defects. Would you print that out?
Misty's list of defects of celebrities. Oh, God. It's like a phone book. You should write a book. That would be great.
I have a Tumblr. That would be too much work. That's true. You can send it over and we'll put it in form for you. Yeah.
Sam's face twitches too much. It seems like his lips want to go up his nose. Are you done with your geek week? I'm done. Okay.

If you're enjoying this podcast, perhaps you'd be interested in GleeCast. You watch your tone, young lady. Hey, we're not forcing you to download the internet's best, or at least most booze-filled podcast about Glee. You want to be me. Who doesn't, Sue?
But we know we can't be. Instead, Erica and Emily. Uh, Emily and Erica. Who am I? I just don't know anymore.
I'd love to stay in chat, but I got a satellite interview. Sorry, we get off topic a lot. The point is, listen to Glee Cast following every new episode of Glee. Plus our sporadic bonus content on some of the greatest bad cinema that incorporates musical theater or sweet dance moves. I'm going to ask you to smell your armpits.
The right or the left? I don't know. That's the smell of failure. Valor smells like dove? Mine has a pleasant lady speed stick scent.

Boy, the only thing missing from this place is a couple dozen bodies limed and rotting in shallow graves under the floorboards. We're working on that. Don't forget that report, Bill. Yes, sir. Thank you.
Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass.
Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah. It's part of your problem, you know. You haven't seen enough movies.
All of life's riddles are answered. In the movies. And now, on with the show. As a matter. Of fact, I want everybody to have a good time.
I want you to come on and get your groove on. Because we're having a Christmas party. Every birthday We're having a Christmas party You bring the wine And I'll bring the cheer Mix up the ice cream And the eggnog beer Put on some music Make sure that it's tight By the way girl Put on that red dress You know the one I like We're having a Christmas party Everybody, we're having a Christmas party. All right, we're having a Christmas party. Everybody, we're having a Christmas party.
All right, super. I'm just getting started. Wait till we get to the rest of it. Uh-oh. Whoa.
Is there cookies? Why do we have pizza if we're going to have this many snacks? Because cookies aren't dinner, damn it. How old are you? Cookies are dinner because we are adults.
We are very refined adults I do what I want that's right fuck yeah my. Son he believes that popcorn is a meal. Okay I've done that before but you know you tried to. Pass jerky off to me it is a meal if he can eat jerky he calls it big bacon for whatever reason because it's like bacon but thicker we. Have some jerky that Jay hid in the.
Cabinet I didn't hide it but it want some, it's I ate the best part of the jerky. It's gone. This is the left. He said two different flavors. Jerky lemons.
These were a little bit eating Randy jerky. Holy shit. This is one of the bags. The other bag he sent was more for us. Can I have, like.
Yeah. This is, like, $ 1, 000 with. A steak right here. I know. And he sent two bags.
All right, we're back. And go ahead. We're eating Randy jerky. We're eating Randy's meat. It's byproduct for human consumption.
So it says, but I don't know. I forced Jay into sharing. At least it doesn't say, like... grade D, but edible. No, you didn't force me into sharing. I share my stuff.
You put it hidden in the cabinet. It is hidden. Oh my God, like it was so fucking hidden in the cabinet behind that damn door. Nobody could get to. He has a secret book that he's hollowed out.
And he hides his drink in the cabinet. It was on the cabinet when you all got here. Then that's it no I put it up because we were putting other shit right. There he was cleaning up shut up I know god I'm having a hard time calm down anyways we were sharing the Randy jerky that he sent to us last time well Jay ate all the good stuff. Well yeah I ate all the damn good.
Stuff I'm not implying that this isn't good the better. Stuff yeah Randy sent me two bags and one's gone one's gone. So Thanks, Randy. All right, well, that'll be a good lead-in to the rest of this goings-on. So this, you know, being the...
Basically, our anniversary, you know, this week, more or less, what, three years ago, we started this process. So it's, you know, it's kind of. Was it three years ago or four years ago? It would be three. This is the fourth time we've done this, but...
I'm confused. It was 2008, so. Are you sure you don't want any more? Swash all the air out of it. I'm good.
I'm going to bring it to you so you can do it. I don't want to squish your meat incorrectly. Ooh. Oh, that's what you're into. Whichever.
It's all good. I get her to make animal shapes out of it. There's a website for you. Oh, God. It's a draft.
Never mind. So every year our holiday celebration is also our birthday. So we're just like Jesus is what I'm saying. Right. I'm hoping that goes over like that.
I rip like Jesus. We're more popular than Jesus. You know, that took off so well. We're just like Jesus here at Movie Mountain. Our birthday's in December.
So that being the case, I thought we would celebrate our anniversary and the holidays and episode 150 and everything all at once with our little feedback fest here. So some of this we've had for a while. A few of them came in the last day or so. Not very many because most of you guys are slackers. But we do have one, and this one we have had for a few weeks now.
It was probably last time all of us were here, but because he's talking about last time we were talking with Jay, so. First off, we will come to James. Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, man.
I want to be a fixer, too, man. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.
Come here. Come on. Hey, this is James. Crap, I hate it when I do that. My brain freezes up and I forget what I was saying.
Hey, to Jay, regarding his advice for his child, dude, you fucking rock. As someone who basically grew up having his parents tell him he was a God damn idiot most of his life. That's awesome. Seriously. Just fucking awesome.
Keep at it. Uh, trick or treat, kick ass. I saw that when I was a kid. Uh, like, probably pretty soon after it came out. And, uh, that movie just like, when I was a kid, it just blew my mind.
Uh, and then as I got older, you know, they come out on DVD and I saw the DVD with Gene Simmons and Ozzy on the cover and went, ooh. Uh, and, yeah, uh, We watch it just about every year at Halloween. It is a. Staple around the household. Oh, crap.
Oh, well, fuck it. Most of y'all know my last name anyway. But it is a staple. We love it and always loved it, always will love it. I don't really have much else to say.
Oh, yeah, Garfield Kids sucked. Wow. When I was a kid, I fucked a chick from Garfield Kids, like super hot. And then we watched it again, and, like, for the last three or four years. Ew.
Awful. Anyway, that was it. Later, dudes. And if you remember the Trick or Treat episode, we went into the whole, like, telling Izzy to do her whole thing and not worry about what other people say and kind of supporting her doing her own thing as opposed to his parents telling him he's a fucking idiot. So it seems so.
Thank you, James. Yeah, thanks. No last name. We'll take that out for you. But yeah, most of us all know.
I would think in the interweb community that we have here. But yeah, that's awesome. And yeah, it's good to know that people actually are taking something from this and even more so that he was creeped out by that girl too, which I don't know why we always come back to Garbage Pail Kids. Everybody comments on, we've never watched the Garbage Pail Kids, but like, That's at least two people that have called in to tell us about the Garbage Pail Kids movie as though we had a whole episode on it. And I'm like, we've mentioned it a few times.
But I agree, that girl's kind of weird looking now that I think back on it. Which girl? Tangerine. Who? The girl Tangerine in the Garbage Pail Kids movie.
Oh, hell, I didn't. I don't know. I haven't seen that movie. My favorite. My favorite line ever, though, at the end of the movie, he goes, I'm sorry, Tangerine.
I just don't think you're pretty anymore. And we were all like, yep. Yeah, neither do we, huh? You're on to something, kid. Yeah, never seen it.
So, yeah, we have a weird connection to Garbage Pail Kids because. I don't want to discourage anybody. If you want to call and talk about Garbage Pail Kids, knock yourself out. Feel free. That's awesome.
Garbage Pail Kids podcast. I'm trying to think of what we brought up that time recently because, yeah, that's at least the second time we've gotten Garbage Pail Kids responses. So, I don't know. That's awesome. Either way.
I want somebody to call in and reference something we've never talked about. Don't we get that? Pull a dang cook. Right. Oh, man.
So, yeah, that was cool. And he liked Trick or Treat, so, you know, more than most people. I didn't like it that much, I don't think. You liked it on the episode. I didn't like Skippy.
Nobody likes Skippy. That's why he's Skippy. Poor bastard. I don't remember that. Alright, so we also had a few from the, this, a lot of our summer appearances that have been sitting for a while because it was text and nobody, we weren't together most of the time, so This was actually when we were talking to Michael Kinworthy at Days of the Dead, and we talked to Candice, who wrote in, and she was like, Wow, I love listening to you guys, and great interview with Michael.
He is such a great guy. Really likable, easy to talk to. She says, Oh yeah, I'm listening now, and you sure have my humor. She says, Haha, I spit out my coffee a few minutes ago. Listening to the Twilight commentary.
I will continue to stay a loyal fan and pass your links on. Keep them coming. And she rounds it out with, right now I'm on the one where y'all are talking about peewee and earnest. Must remember not to get a full bladder before listening. Nice.
So, thank you to Candice. That was awesome. And again, she was going through a rundown there. We need to get a sponsorship from Depends. Make you laugh so hard you pee yourself.
If you can set that up, please do. There we are. So that's, yeah. I don't know why I used that voice when I said that. I'm pretty sure that's not what she said.
It's like your Mitch, what's his face, voice. Ms. Schwan? No, Mitch Hedberg. Oh, Ms.
Hedberg. Hedberg. I've heard the name, but I've never actually heard his name. It's like if you're wearing a turtleneck and a backpack, it's like being strangled by a midget. That's awesome.
One of my favorite comedians. Of all time. We will get a sponsorship. From the pins. It's all in how you word things.
I don't know why. I guess I pee myself a lot. Oops, I crapped my pants. They offered to give me money to take a survey at the mall if I would take a survey on adult diapers. I'm like, but I don't wear it, though.
She's like, well, you can just tell them you do. I'm like, I'm not going to lie about that. Adult diapers are a very niche market. You either need them or you don't. Are they going to pay you?
Like, ten bucks. Yeah, you know, it's really funny. Jessica and I were walking through the mall the other day, and this guy, I coincidentally made out with him in middle school. Was he wearing adult diapers? No, but he's the guy that's like, you want to do a survey?
Is he really skinny? Yeah, he's really skinny. He has black hair, and he looks retarded. He asked me some questions. I went in there and took one about the...
Nail-less picture hangers. Did you get money for it? I got $ 7. Yeah, Jessica needed $ 10. I was like, go talk to Abe.
He'll give you $ 10 if you take a survey. I was like, it's easy. It's like, a perfect solution to your problem. She goes, I don't want to talk to him. He's creepy.
I was like, I made out with him. She was like, that was a long time ago. I was like, so. Did you get money for that, too? No.
And she. I was like, what are you trying to say? I was like, are you dissing me for making out with this guy? He's like, no, I'm just saying he's creepy now. You made out with the survey guy at the mall.
I can't hang out with you anymore. He was like 11. Dude, he had a job already. Come on. You better hang on to that guy.
He is going places. $ 10 a survey. That's good. I got $ 7 if I would hang photos on the wall. It was like the sticky stuff instead of nails. I'm like, no, but okay.
Is that all you had to do? Like, answer one question? No, I had to answer, like, a whole series. I had to pick off a wall what I would buy if I was going to buy them. Which I prefer better?
Which packaging? I was like, the clean ones or the white ones? It's like I'm behind a picture. I don't know what color they're going to be behind. Picture?
Whatever. Who cares? Yeah. He did a lot of cocaine, so I don't even think he remembers me, so. In middle school?
How do you think he had that job and his middle school career going at once? I mean, I've been out of middle school for a really long time. Now, guys. Two whole years. A lot of things have happened since then.
He got a drug problem and I guess got clean enough to work his mall job. How clean do you have to be to work at the mall? He's got his shit together more than me. That's true. Maybe you should start doing cocaine.
I'm working up in the world. I'm taking cocaine. We're now seeking donations to pay for Greg's cocaine addiction. So that I can get a job at the mall. And ask questions about adult diapers.
What's my mom... went to this thrift store and she saw these adult diapers and she didn't buy them. But then the next day I was going to the thrift store and she's like, Hey, Hey, pick up those adult diapers from me. I was like, fuck you. No, I'm not buying adult diapers from the thrift store. And I'm not buying adult diapers for somebody else.
Get your own. That says so much about your mother. Is she probably just like, too inconvenienced to get up. Well no sometimes she'll be really drunk or like. Sometimes oh this is so much better no let me.
Tell let me tell the story is it gonna get better no yeah maybe once I feel like I probably already told this show on here Once my mom bought me, I used to collect like velvet Jesus paintings. I think everybody knows that at this point. But once this lady was peddling stuff at a bar and they were like LED light Jesus paintings. And my mom bought me a couple of them. And it was at the biker bar down the street from my house.
And she was like, hey, come get these. And I'm like, okay. And then I get there and she won't get off her stool. I was like. I don't want to go in.
Bring him out to me. And she's like, I can't. I peed my pants. But when I got there, she was, like, sitting and still karaoke-ing a Bob Seger song. I was like....
She has different priorities than you and I. Wasn't this an episode of... Yeah, what was that? Raising Hope? So how's the dolphin rug do?
It smells like mildew. Aw. Yeah. But. But I was like, when you pee your pants, you leave the bar.
No, you sing out of Bob Seger. You've got to finish that Bob Seger. You've got to be like a rock. If you stay in there long enough, everybody's going to know. If you stay in there long enough, it's not wet anymore.
It's true. It dries out. I mean, she has COPD, so she coughs a lot, so that makes her pee her pants. You just spill beer on you. You go, whoops.
I need another beer. I am so clumsy. And I did not pee my pants. Good thing I didn't also pee my pants. I would never do anything to ruin our friendship.
Jessica and I say that at least once a week. And then we'll see that guy. He was in the Muppet movie. Every time I see him anywhere, I'm like, I would never do anything to ruin our friendship. Like, poop my pants.
And everyone's just like. My name's Brian. I like to skateboard. I love that word. Oh, God.
Yeah, he said everything now. I love that guy. I mean, I was like. I was literally sitting in the. You're getting four episodes out of this one.
I was sitting in the theater next to a... My boyfriend, on Thanksgiving Day, watching the Muppet movie, and then that guy comes on the screen briefly, and I look at him and I say, I would never do anything to ruin our friendship, like poop my pants. And everyone's like, what? We brought our children here. God.
You know, how can he have such a... Because he's respected by rappers as almost not. Now.... Only because I think he's successful anyway. Right, right.
I think that's how popularity goes in general. Yeah, you can. Because he... I mean, most of his raps are how he used to be made fun of. Right.
So, I mean... He's a rapper? Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. I just know that he's like an actor.
He is everything. He's a writer. He's an actor. He's a comedian. He's a singer.
Slash rapper. You name it. He's everything. Okay. Candice?
Not sure how that led to there, but thank you. I don't know how we started talking about my mom peeing her pants. Let's not retrace our steps. And then me making out with some guy. No, here we go again.
Stop it. Next one. Next, next, next. The other ones were shorter. We had one from Kara that actually said the interview was fantastic, so that was kind of cool.
It's good that once again we Occasionally, turn in some decent interviews. What another? You took pictures of that one. Did I? I've got stalkery pictures of me talking to him that you took.
Michael Kinworth. We'll talk after the show. And then we also heard from Troy. This one, I've talked to Troy quite a bit online a few times now, so he's actually really great, but This, I didn't know if I told you guys this. This was when we ended up seeing him at Fright Night.
And I think I was there at the table. He wanted to meet everybody. And, like, the one time I was there by myself, he came up. But he said, I just thought this was very weird when he emailed me. He said, I was just excited to meet you in person.
It was like meeting a celebrity. I'm super glad you didn't charge me $ 20 either. I'm just like. Okay. Yeah, we pay celebrities to do that.
Yeah, that's true. Everybody else there was, I guess, you know. We should set up a misty signature booth. Pictures of Greg. Yeah, nobody would pay for that.
He just did a catalog post for you guys at home. It's like the Tom Selleck Playboy. No, it was sort of the Sears sweater collection. We should send out Christmas cards to our real good fans. Ah, see, we're taking that photo tonight.
Anyway, so, yeah. And Randy would get one. Yeah, based on who gave us feedback this week, Randy would get one. Well, he said just jerky. Yeah, I know, so Randy would get one.
But, again, everybody else, we're glad. I have a picture of me giving Randy the machetes. I sent it out to the secret circle. You're just not on the secret circle. You're not on the secret circle.
I was the one who made the fucking machete. You can't send me the damn picture. I sent Randy one. What the fuck? I can send it over if you'd like.
Yes, I would like. Okay. We can do that. For $ 20. Oh, Lord.
So, yeah. He says, your show is great and I'm a huge fan. Thanks for making my drive and jog time so much fun. So, Who said that? That was Troy.
Thank you, Troy. And I told him if he gets to this area, he can sit in with us because he's not too far. He's within driving distance. So that was most of the... Well, no.
There's one coming. But the next one is audio. So this one. I'll let you guys decide if you want to play all of this. If you go by what this person says, there's instructions.
But I'll let you guys decide what you want to. Do with it. Here's the story of a guy named Brian. Who is sitting watching movies all alone. Oh, fuck that.
It's an oop-pah band. It's the best I could do on short notice. Hey, it's Randy. And Lisa. Well, we figured we'd call in and congratulate you and tell you guys once again how wonderful you are and probably address some specific things.
So, first of all, Horror Hound recap. Yes, Jay is the best friend I will ever have in this lifetime. Yes, I hugged Misty and lived. I've done a lot of crazy shit in my life. I went through the self-destructive adrenaline junkie phase many years ago, and it took me right back there.
It was like staring death in the face. And, you know, I've jumped out of airplanes and other kind of crazy shit, but... you know, right there, I knew that like at any moment it could end for me. So, you know, I've been there and I'm, back from the edge, and life has new meaning. So, let's see. Lucy, meeting Hershey, you have the soul of a butterfly.
I'm sorry, we didn't get enough time. I was running around, and I really kind of regret that. Greg, you are wonderful. You're a... The only thing keeping us from being like real people friends is about a thousand miles, but we'll work on that.
Um, I'm not really sure that Fred's even real. Um, he's like a protocol droid, like with a virus, the kind of shit that you come up with Fred terrifies me, but it is, it's wonderful. I think if you guys as downloadable opinionated sea monkeys and you make my life wonderful, um, let's see Marlena, uh, I can't believe that you exist. You need your own comic book. You need your own sitcom.
It would have to be on, like, Showtime because it would be a little too skeevy and off-budget for HBO. But it would need to be just the kind of things that go on in your life. Don't make me believe in magic. So, let's see. Brian, you're the one who's brought us this for 150 episodes.
And through... through hardware failures and staff changes, and I thank you for bringing this to us. So, let's see, a couple of other thoughts. I did want to recommend a movie because I recommended the last one. I think I called in with Dear Zachary, and this is the anti-movie of that. It's playing on Netflix Instant, and it's called Buck, which is a wonderful documentary that is sort of life-affirming and interesting and colorful, and you walk away smarter and wiser and a better human being, which I can always make do with that.
I'm trying to think what else I have to dump on you. 150 episodes. Wow. That's awesome. Almost as awesome as Misty.
I think that's about it. I don't want to ramble on too much. I'll actually put something together for you. Christmas is kicking my ass. You can ask Misty about that.
I hope you're all well. I wanted to let you know that Lisa and I are planning to come out there, whatever that convention is, around last week of June, early July. And I'd like to tell other listeners that these people that you're listening to are as wonderful and warm and welcoming as friends, as anybody you could hope to meet. So if you ever get the chance, I would definitely recommend you contact them, Mark. Get to know him, whatever you can do.
My life's a lot better for it. You guys, I'd say have a good night, but I don't know what the hell time it is when you're going to play this. So have a good fill-in-the-blank. You know, Merry Kwanzaa. Ha ha, Merry Kwanzaa.
See, he likes Kwanzaa. Did he get cut off? Yeah, he got cut off. He acts like he's never hugged me before. That's at least the third time that he has hugged me, and he has not died at any point during this.
But you had a segment called Celebrities Misty's Kill. Since we're having the flashback here, yeah, that's been quite a while ago. We've retired that one since then. I like how everybody else is all like, Lucy's all... butterfly-like or whatever, and Marlene is all wonderful, and Misty, I didn't die. Well, that was actually going to be, now that's actually pretty accurate, because...
The wrap-up there at the end, he was telling people how great we are and they should go out of their way to meet us and get in contact with us. I really don't want that. I was like, except for Misty. I was like, if I were you guys, I probably wouldn't do that. No good will come of it.
Don't run up and hug her. Definitely don't run up and hug her. You don't want people at some of these conventions thinking they can come up and hug you. No. I don't want.
Them to think... I mean, I'm pretty like. I mean. Actually, at conventions, Misty's way friendlier than I am. It depends on the situation and who the person is.
If they're sweaty and stinky, no. Yeah, I don't like these fuckers hugging me. No. These fuckers are the people listening. Not you fuckers.
Those other fuckers. Those other stinky people. You guys shower and use adult diapers and you're totally fresh. You guys are clean and wonderful. I'm not talking about you.
Marlene is pretty low here on the... qualifications. You have to, you know, snort cocaine, work in the mall, and. Yeah, you guys aren't classy enough. Hey, that was the standards I had when I was 12. And they're even more.
Actually.... My standards have gone up since then at least a little bit. At least a little bit. Hey, your boyfriend doesn't work at the mall. He doesn't have a job.
Well, alright, they've sort of leveled out. But whatever. They're just different standards. They're kind of sideways. He got a job until last week, to be fair.
He just decided to not go anymore. He just decided the whole working thing's not his deal. Oh, Lord. Yeah, yeah. Randy's awesome.
I want to talk about how awesome Randy is for a second. He is the best fan that I've ever met. Excuse me. And he's only hugged me because there's been warning. He knows better.
He doesn't want to, like, pull back a bloody stump. I mean, he knows better. I think that has been threatened. Probably. Motherfucker, touch me again, you will pull back a fucking gnome.
Randy's awesome. Lisa's awesome. We should make sure Lisa's mentioned because Lisa's fucking awesome. Well, Lisa also said hello. You guys didn't hear it.
So, yes, Lisa's awesome. Lisa's the one who keeps Randy in check. Somebody's got to do it. She's Randy's sponsor. Rightfully so.
Handler. Even he tells scary stories of his past. I think it's all come together now that Lisa's involved. We all need somebody to wrangle us in. I keep your ass in check.
I thought it was the other way around. I think it's a little of both, actually. Oh, Lord. So we didn't even finish, actually. Let's get the other half of Randy's now pissed off because he got cut off message.
Oh, I knew I was rambling. That fucking thing cut me off. I went way too long. Edit that shit down, Brian. Don't play it.
Edit it. There's no point in playing that horrible oompa thing from the Brady Bunch I started with. It was shitty. I wouldn't have made it past my first cut. Kill it, Brian.
Please. Kill it. Randy's awesome. Bye. Okay, so there you go.
So I'll leave it up to you guys. I liked it myself. It was as goofy as the rest of our show is. I think it seems fine to me. As long as he doesn't have a major problem with it.
I'll be fine. I think he'll be fine. At this point, I think he's an ex-officio member anyway. We've included him as often as we can. He's invited to sit in every week.
If we can get past that damn thousand mile thing, he would be sitting here now as far as I'm concerned. Alright, so here was the other one. Milena, this one I think was sort of directly in result from either you or then the next week when we were sitting there with Lucy, she sort of brought up the exact same question. So, to both of you, we got this letter this past week. A couple weeks back, On the podcast, you guys mentioned Steve Guttenberg.
His appeal, and basically, WTF happened to it. I can clearly pinpoint the moment he dropped off the favorable radar, or at least pissed off so many people simultaneously that he could never recover career-wise. I can pinpoint the exact moment. As you well know, Steve was riding high in the 80s. He had the Police Academy series, which he left early enough to not damage his career, and moved on to a more legit fare like Cocoon and Three Minute Baby.
But in 1989, he and his people made the decision that was such a boneheaded move that it essentially killed his career overnight. After starring in these prestigious films, he next starred in a high-slash-low-concept comedy that was supposed to capitalize on the Australia mania that dominated cinema in the 80s, but way too late. There was Australia mania? Yeah. Crocodile Dundee.
Freaking crazy. Duracell battery. No, Energizer. I'm sorry. He was also on.
Knock it off my shoulder. Oh, crap. What was that show? He was on The Highwayman, which may have went for one season, but I seriously doubt it. Anybody remember The Highwayman?
I do. The Highwayman was awesome. I always wanted this rig that turned into a helicopter. It was like Mask, only bigger. Kind of, yeah.
Reeler. Reel her, yeah. So, he says, when Mad Max came out in 79, it took the world by storm. It set off a cinema movement wherein all things Australian were awesome for a short time. But as you know, the cultural zeitgeist changes every seven years, and by 1989, attempting to cash in on that phenomenon was already two years too late.
The movie was Don't Tell Her It's Me, a comedy in which Steve pretends to be an Aussie biker who dresses exactly like Mad Max, In order to win over an unsuspecting Jamie Girtz. Yeah, this is the 80s. Wow. Whatever happened to Jamie Girtz? She's on TV now.
Actually, I just saw her on one of those talk shows in the middle of the day. She's pushing some new thing. I think she's producing now. She's still out there. She had that weird sitcom like five years ago.
Anyway, off of the Jamie Girtz story. There. The problem with this is that her character knew him before he dons the leather and the accent, so basically the whole film seems to be based on the notion that her character was stupid enough to fall for it. So here's where things go horribly wrong. A bad comedy is easy enough to dismiss, but not when its trailer campaign is so ill-timed that it makes the movie look like a pariah.
You see, the trailer for Don't Tell Her It's Me began playing attached to the beginning of Lethal Weapon 2. I'm not kidding. As the lights go down and the shots of anticipation begin, everyone waiting with bated breath, For Riggs and Murtaugh to kick some ass again, the trailer for a movie plays in which some dorky schlub is imitating, poorly, the hero of the movie we're all about to watch. Top that off with the fact that Mad Mel had just as many, if not more, female fans than male, his trailer insulting them to their very core. This trailer basically said that all women are stupid enough to fall for a trick like that, and that it's perfectly okay for men to do something so deceitful as long as it's in the name of love.
About 10 seconds into that trailer, comments like, the fuck is this? And fuck that guy could be heard before Lethal Weapon 2 even started playing. Steve Guttenberg's career was over. Wow. Sounds like a movie we need to watch.
Now that everyone hates. Mel Gibson, does that mean Steve Guttenberg can come back? He might have a comeback in the works. You never know. Don't tell her it's me, too.
Or don't tell her it's me again. Again. It's time for a reboot on Don't Tell Her It's Me. I mean, now, really, Mel Gibson is, like, one of the most hated men. Yeah, definitely these days.
So, like, Steve Guttenberg. Can come back. He tried to kind of come back. He was on Veronica Mars. And Party Down.
And Party Down. And there's another one he turned up on lately. I mean, he keeps turning in decent little, like, minor roles on, like, TV now. So he could, you know, get a semi-normal career again. Didn't he play Kristen Ritter's dad on Veronica Mars?
Yes. I love Kristen. He played the child molester, remember? That's a career killer. That's not really going to save you.
He was molesting Beaver. I don't remember that. That's why Beaver went crazy. Spoiler alert. Spoiler alert.
Now you void the right for spoiler alert when a show's been off the air for I don't know how many fucking years. There's plenty of shows I haven't watched yet. I'm waiting. No, it deserves to get spoiled. I can understand if it's been like a week.
No, it's been fucking years. It's like the next episode of like True Blood or whatever is popular. It's been years. You don't get to know. Yeah.
What if somebody spoiled like a season four episode of Supernatural for you? I've already seen it. But before you watched it. Like a couple of months ago. Bitch, I get on one and I read spoilers myself.
As soon as she. Spoil your own shit. She spoils her own shit. As soon as we're watching an episode, she's back in the computer room and she's like, oh my god, oh my god, this is gonna happen next. I'm like, shut up!
You're ruining it for me! Winchester's sitting there and she's like she's like a character like get shot and she's like oh don't worry he's not gonna die he's coming back in. The next season i'm like oh okay. Winchester's next to you with his little werewolf fingers in his ears stop ruining it for me we're watching these together damn you Okay, back to the list. He says, not really a man's man per se, Steve Guttenberg relied almost entirely on his appeal to women as the harmless, cute comedy guy in order to be an A-list player.
The second he appeared on screen as a slimeball, it was over. Regardless of whether or not he really was in the actual movie, the trailer was good enough to turf the guy for good. So that's what happened to Steve Guttenberg. He says, the trailer might be on YouTube, and you'll see what I mean. So, that is actually from Devin Richards.
Awesome. He says you can check him out on IMDb. He has actually been in stuff. So he's got his own career. He says you can find him.
Has he done anything with Michael Madsen? If so, he probably wouldn't want to admit to it at this point. But yeah, he's got Indiegogo. You know the Waco brothers. No.
Oh, okay. He's got Indiegogo and Kickstarter campaigns going for his own film. So yeah, go find him and you can donate to him. And donate to us while you're at it, dammit. Do we have a Kickstarter thing?
If you set it up. We've got PayPal and nobody. We can send out Christmas cards to people that actually send us money. There you go. I'm all for that.
Christmas cards with us in front of the tree. I've got a very special shot I think we should do. I think you have to donate a whole lot of money for that one. I wouldn't pay for that. Well, not if most of us were in it.
I asked Brian if we could all have matching sweaters. That would be really awesome. I would chip in on a sweater. I've got a better one actually. So you guys send money and we'll send you that shot because it's going to be awesome.
So yeah, other than that, thank you to Devin. And yeah, I think he's pinned it down now. We've been trying to... figure it out for years now. What the hell happened to Steve Guttenberg? I never really cared.
I don't know if anybody did. Maybe that's why nobody bothered to pin it down. After Police Academy, I just really could. Give two shits less about Steve Guttenberg. Short Circuit, was that after?
Yeah, but it wasn't. That was when he went sort of legit, but he wasn't what sold that movie. Johnny Five was the star of that movie. After Johnny Five and Ally. Sheedy, then it was like, oh yeah, Guttenberg.
That was when I still liked Ally Sheedy. And who was the Indian guy? Oh, that's because he's not Indian, by the way. It's Fisher Stevens, who is totally white. Yeah, that's right.
He's not white. What? Massively racist, if you want to look at it that way. That's right. He's white?
He's white. You're going to lose mine. Stand back. Stand back. What, did he put shoe polish on his face?
No. That's the thing. You don't have to do that much in Hollywood. All you have to do is do a really bad accent and kind of wear the clothes. I don't remember that.
He is not at all Indian as far as I know. He was always Indian when I thought about it. Damn it. Everyone makes fun of the haji accent or what's his face in The Simpsons? What's his name?
Oh, the Apu? Yeah, Apu. That is how, I mean, like, no offense if we have any Indian listeners, that is how Indian people sound. Like, every day when I'm listening to the news in my car and they're, like, interviewing this, like, like, I listen to BBC News a lot and there's always, like, an Indian guy on the show and they're, like, interviewing somebody. That is exactly, I'm like, these stereotypical accents are true.
Anytime they, like, interview an Indian person or, like, a British person or, like, a German person or a Russian person, They sound like the stereotypical accent. It's an accent. I mean, you have that. I mean, it's just gotten so blown out of proportion, the PC version. I mean, there are things that people do that are legitimately completely racist and completely, like, not cool the way that they go about it.
And then there's the other hand where sort of we've overdone it, you know? We've over-PC'd everything to the point that you can't actually, you know, refer to someone from the country that they are or the race that they are or whatever. It's just like, well, how do you even describe anybody anymore if you can't even refer to them? Or if, again, you're like quoting them and saying it like they said it. I mean, it's like, well, I'm not being a jerk.
This is how they sounded when they told me the story. You know, it's like there's a fine line there. It's hard to skate it. But at the same time, I think there's something wrong about going too far in the other direction. The other day, someone at work said something about like, oh, that Mexican guy.
And some other guy was like, dude, because we have a Mexican dishwasher. And I was like, he's from Mexico. He knows he's Mexican. I was like, he is a Mexican guy. There's nothing wrong with that.
That's funny. I was thinking about that the other day. Yeah, there was like two guys named Dave. Well, there's the black Dave and the white Dave. And you're like, which Dave was it?
Well, describe him. You know, he's tall. He has dark hair. Was he black? Yes.
Let's go back to the chase. We know he's black. We're not fooling anybody. We have two Chris's at work. One Chris is white, one Chris is black.
And, you know, sometimes people call the little one Little Chris, even though he's Black Chris. Or sometimes they call one, like, Boss Chris and Dishwasher Chris. But it's just like, there's Black Chris and there's White Chris. You know, like. It's like we're C-Lab every week.
It's just like. Which one, like, does he have dark hair? Yes, they both have dark hair. Does he have brown eyes? They both have brown eyes.
Right. One's black. He's wearing a watch. I'm pretty sure he knows he's black. It's okay.
Right. Jesus. So, yeah. He's got on a red shirt. Okay.
And the thing is, I know we have listeners in India. So, I mean, again, if you guys are listening and you... Do we really? Yeah. Awesome.
According to the numbers, we do. Cool. Hey, India's great. You guys are awesome. Again, we're not, I mean, we don't have calls from you guys.
So, you know, as much as we like the feedback we're getting from here, these are all boring white people from America, usually. Yeah, if you want to prove that you don't sound like that. Yeah. Call in. I mean, even if you do.
Thank you for keeping Royal Enfield alive. I know that means absolutely nothing to nobody, but it means a lot to me. And call in and rip Fisher Stevens. Then, I guess. Yeah, there you go.
Who's Fisher Stevens? The guy that started this conversation. Oh, yeah. Yeah, okay. All right.
Four years. We're going into four years. Jay has Alzheimer's. I've been punched in the head too many times, okay? Jay is Dory from Finding Nemo.
I have no patience. I haven't killed him yet. You gotta realize I'm one step away from Memento. You haven't even seen that movie. I don't have to.
I'd forget it. He'd forget it. He has seen it. He's seen it every week of his life. He has a tattoo.
This is Watch Memento. Oh, God. Backwards. I've got a notebook. I've got a notebook at work of all my, of everything I have, I have written down.
And this is stuff I do every day. It's written down in a notebook with scribble drawings and stuff like that. Well, not scribble drawings, because I'm actually a pretty decent artist. But people at work, they're like, why do you have a notebook? This is shit we do every day.
I was like, so I won't forget it. It's stuff that I need to know. I can't remember this stuff. I really can't. Wow.
I'm about that bad with just normal, like, stupid, hey, I have to go there at 2 o'clock tomorrow. But, you know, the basic, like, goings on in my life, I usually remember, it's the, like, oh, yeah, I got to do that, I got to do that. So I'm getting to the point I have to write stupid notes about that stuff every day. I forgot to go to my final. Exam this morning.
Oops. Actually, I didn't forget. I just had the wrong time. See, you got to write that shit down. I had a paper.
On your arm. No, I had a paper in my car. I just misread it and memorized it wrong. How do you misread 8 to 10? Well, there was an alternate time slot for people who were in French and it was for last Thursday.
Just show up and say you were in French. Yeah, but it was on Thursday. Oh, Lord. So, once again, thank you, Devin. I'm not sure how most of the conversations we have get to the places they go, but That's just why we don't get together.
It wouldn't be Movie Meltdown if we didn't do that. We put the meltdown. Yeah, there's the reason the show is Movie Meltdown. Oh, Lord. Where we talk a little bit about movies and mostly about other stuff.
Mostly get sidetracked and not even remember where we started. We should be Movie Runaround. We wouldn't be as awesome as we are if we were any other way. That's true. We're pretty damn awesome.
I would be really bored. Actually, I probably would have quit this a long time ago. I've tried to quit. He won't let me. Damn straight.
Oh, so yes, that was our feedback. Again, we got the very specific stuff from Randy. Everybody else was just sort of... Actually, we did just get the Steve Guttenberg letter this past week. So thank you to both of you and to everybody who's been writing in the last few months.
And we've just sort of collected it up until we were all sitting here. So thank you to everybody. Yay! Again, yeah, to everybody else out there listening, if you haven't written in, if you haven't written in a long time, if you haven't called in, you know, we. Or if you're from other countries, we'd like to hear from you.
Yeah, really, all we've gotten is America and Australia, definitely. We might have gotten Canada. Was it Steve Guttenberg doing an Australian accent? I don't think that was Steve Guttenberg. I want Steve Guttenberg to call him.
He could sit in on a show. He could. He's thoroughly invited. Acting! An Australian child molester.
Now see, he's ruined for life. Thanks to Misty. He's not really a child molester in real life. Veronica Marzi is, goddammit. I'm so sensitive.
I gotta be so PC about it. You can't just call somebody a child molester these days. God! This is when it's gone too far. So, thank you to all the child molesters out there.
Actually, we did put out an advertisement for them to sponsor, like, two weeks ago. Child molesters? Yeah. That was Fred. Once again.
That's right. What? Of crazy shit that Fred says. Yep. That was one of them.
I missed that. I don't remember that. I am not promoting child molestation in any way. No, it's not funny. We may be joking about it, but it's not funny.
It's no laughing matter, even though we're laughing. Because we're bad people. We kind of are, but I think at this point, 150 episodes in, you probably know that. Yeah. They should drag every child molester out into the street and shoot them.
I'm up for that. As long as we get to join in. That would be too clean and easy. They'd make it done and be over with. They'd be tortured.
Beat them with maces. So we're going to send the government in. All right. Thank you for the feedback. Please keep it coming.
Unless you're a child molester, then fuck off and don't bother. But send money. Yeah. I don't want child molester money. We won't know.
It's coming through the internet. We do have our PayPal account. I'm leaving that alone. Moving on. Oh, now we'll take some of that.
That's hot. Again, we're still fighting to keep it going here. If you do want to send donations, we do appreciate that. I know many shows out there actually get a nice little campaign going and get people uh sending in money i would be glad to be one of those shows so if you guys can uh find a way to uh add us to your christmas list hey. We should send them christmas cards i'm all up for that we should sign.
Them or if you're writing your will just include us as a little bit a small percentage. Okay try to screw your family out of most of it and send it all to us. You can give them the car or something, but cash... I don't know. I could use a new car.
Any of the real assets you send to us and give them... We're like your family. You could even send us lottery tickets. That's okay. We'll take it at this point.
Except for pennies. I don't like those. Don't send those. Yeah, she's got a whole tirade about pennies. My in-laws will take us to a place that has a table that they love the restaurant and they have copper tables.
And I can't eat there because I hate the smell of the table. And every single time I'm like, I can't, I can't. And, you know, it's a free meal. Send us free food. Randy sends us food.
I don't know if the rest of it will keep, so just send us gift cards for Food Emporium. I like steak. There you go. Send her steak gift cards. We'll take just about anything.
Just make sure it's nationwide so we can actually use it. Outback's good. Yeah, speaking of Australian, Outback is good. Yeah, you know, authentic Australian food like Outback. See, I brought it all around town.
Bring it around. And we'll drink a Foster's. I don't drink. Yeah, I'm having Diet Coke. Diet Coke, if you'd like to sponsor us, send it on over.
I like Cherry Coke. There you go. We'll take it. But not this week, because we're sponsored by Red Velvet Milk. Nondescript brand Red Velvet Milk.
Until the check comes, nondescript brand Red Velvet Milk. That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown. Okay, kids, get out your recorder bins. Oh, man. Do it.
Do it like Axl Rose style. I can't. Come on, do the shimmy back and forth. And, you know. Or do the last note of don't cry.
Yeah, do that for the next five minutes. Just do that. I can't. I'm embarrassed. . Now, if he had a microphone in my car when I'm driving home from work, he would totally hear me rocking it.
Sitting in traffic for an hour. I hate that traffic. Get me going. I'm mad. That's a whole different thing.
Yeah, unless you're cussing at me over the phone about people in traffic. How bad that traffic's going to be when it snows. And me in my car listening to Get in the Ring. I know. Skip that track.
That track is terrible. The first part's awesome. I like the first part. You're just like imbitching at people. I like the first part.
Set your pins to B2. Here is the message. All right, it is time for the Movie Outdown Secret Circle reveal of the next exciting feature. Next week, we will continue the Christmas festival with the Sofa Theater feature, the original 1974 Black Christmas. Fucking A.
Fucking A. I love that movie, too. Olivia Hussey was so pretty. We'll get to her next week. All right, anything else?
Give them your holiday send-off so we can get the hell out of here. Feliz Navidad. That's right. Merry fucking Christmas. For Misty.
And everybody else. How do you say it in Hawaiian? What's the song? Malakalikimaka. How are you going to attempt it?
I like Hawaii. I want to go there, too. So, yeah. Let's do it Hawaiian style. Otherwise, what about Dylan?
We will return next week. Same geek time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening. Malakalikimaka is a thing to say. I've got a little mound thing underneath my seat. You can eat that if you want. I just didn't want to get left there and get up and step on it or something. Wow, Greg, you made a perfect little square. If I can poop perfect little squares, I'm in business.
Because we can't go more than ten minutes without talking about poop. Well, I don't know. Who's going to buy square poop, really? I mean, you're still going to be shit out of luck. This episode is a production of Movie Meltdown.
