If it is hot, I will eat it. Hi, this. Is Tom Kane, the voice of Yoda. And listening to Movie Meltdown, you are guests. The following feature has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.

It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised. It's showtime folks. Enjoy the show. our nuclear reactor, pumping out one million kilowatts of power. What the fuck are you bitches babbling about? What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.

I'm Brian and this week we'll be revisiting our most recent trip to Wonderfest. But this won't be just any old recordings from the event, this will be a special crossover episode with the guys from Tower of Technobabble. Now in previous episodes from this event, you may have heard me describe them as our noisy neighbors. Which is true, they were situated right next to our table, and if you listen to the last couple of episodes, you can kind of hear them making noise in the background. Specifically the Godzilla episode.

All that yammering on in the background, that's the guys from Tower of Technobabble. I know it's them, because they were the only other ones in the room. They were out of control. The reason they were so out of control is their table next to us wasn't just another table at any other show. They had brought in all this other equipment, including, you know, furniture and a big running clock.

Because what they had decided to do with. Their weekend at Wonderfest was they were going to try to break a world record. But if you go to the old Guinness Book of World Records, what I don't think you'll find is anything in there on podcasts. Because they, like pretty much the rest of the world, don't know what the hell a podcast is. Except, of course, for you cool people.

You're the only ones that understand. But aside from that, no, no podcast in the Guinness Book. But there was a listing for the longest uninterrupted webcast. So that's similar, right? Again, most of this country has no idea.

But in actuality, it. Was close enough that they could stream a webcast and record a podcast at the same time and attempt to break the world record. Now, they were working on this idea for a while before I heard about it. And when I did, I laughed. I said, good luck, and I told them I would help them as best I can.

But I had other plans. I wanted to wander around and put together several specific episodes, and I'm glad I did. As you've hopefully heard already, we've recorded some great episodes with people like Joe Alves and Eric Chu and Carol Bauman and Dr. Gangrene and all from that event. So, I'm glad I stuck with my plan, but, you know, the Tower Technobabble guys, we'd also plan on recording something together while we were there that weekend.

But instead of bouncing back and forth and doing different crossover episodes, I decided it would be more interesting to drag my recording equipment over into the middle of their recording setup and record both shows simultaneously. That might also be a new world record. Eh, probably not. There's a lot of podcasts out there. But what this is is a really fun episode hanging out with the guys.

And interesting to listen to, because keep in mind, as we get into this, our episode here is basically midway. Into their world record attempt. And when we start recording, they are right about. At the 20 hour point. Yes, by now, when you start listening, they have been awake and talking nonstop for 20 hours.

And they were shooting for 40 hours, so they still have a long way to go even after we wrap up this segment. Now you might be wondering, did they make it? Did they break the world record? Well, I'd say head on over to TowerTechnobabble.com and find out for yourself. But in the meantime, let's listen to our shenanigans from Hour 20.

So now let's go live via digital recording to the floor of Wonderfest. And as we do, we're going to be doing what kind of podcasting? Simultaneous podcasting. Whoa, won't that cause a weird flux capacitor? I know, it's going to be awesome.

It's great, man. If we start a fire, it's your fault. Have we got enough cable? We're tangled together. We are podcasting.

You know, sort of the granddaddy of the little podcasters. I'll take it. I don't know if it's accurate, but I'll say it. Slowly come about here. We'll double up on Mike.

We're all set. All right. I can do that. I like it. I like it.

No, actually, this is how we've been doing our remotes. Because we've been Skyping in on the cell phone. And TowerBot Skype. And then we have to talk in these mics and in that one at the exact same time, man. Have to synchronize.

Not those bastards that use Skype. I can't trust those guys. Whoa. Brian, it's nice to see you. Welcome to Hour 20.

The Brian Renfro Hour. The movie Meltdown Hour. So, uh. Welcome to Movie Meltdown. Thanks for coming on Movie Meltdown.

Hey, no problem. We'll tell you what. On Movie Meltdown, we want to introduce a new tradition. We've been doing a memory... Sorry.

You're right. You don't know how to work microphones. I'm trying to grab something. Stay away from me. Damn it.

Something, anything. I don't care. We're trying to trigger memories. And the way we've been doing it is we've been pulling vintage Star Wars figures out of the sack. And just seeing what kind of memories.

This is loaded. I don't know if I trust this. No, no, no. This is live radio, man, without a net. Here was our previous figure.

What kind of memories? One of my favorites of all time. It's a snow trooper, by the way. The snow trooper. As much as everybody loves normal storm troopers, I like snow troopers even more.

That costume is so badass. I can't even begin to put into words. It's the coolest outfit ever. I was telling them when I was a kid. in grade school before anybody had seen the movie a kid came in and during recess he had this figure and everyone was like what is that and he was like these are the new stormtroopers in the new star wars movie man They're not going to have the old Stormtroopers. These are the brand new ones.

And because he said that, I instantly hated it. Because I had such an affection for the old classic Stormtroopers. No, you went home and you threw out all your old ones. You were like, I'm moving on with the time. Oh, man, I was like, I hate this.

And then when I finally saw Empire, you don't see a Stormtrooper until Cloud City, well past halfway. Through the movie. So I was like, oh man, that jerk was true. I don't like this new changes. And why isn't Luke wearing his karate smock?

Everything's changed, man. Bespin fatigues, damn it. Get with the times. Okay, why did they call them Bespin fatigues if he was wearing them before he got to Bespin? Because they were trying to sell that action figure.

Why weren't they called Dagobah fatigues? Nobody knew what a Dagobah was. Everybody knows Bespin. Vacation commercials, you see, come to Bespin. Relax up in the clouds.

Everybody knows Bespin. Come on, man. All right, so you basically get the gist here. So we're going to pull out the next figure. All right.

I don't have to reach in a sack. Yes, you do. Ben is pulling out. I'll give the play-by-play. Ben is pulling out the sack.

He's addressing the sack. Hello, sack. All right, here's the magic sack. That's a magic sack. It's actually a pillowcase.

It's a magic sack. Get in our van full of candy and let's go. Hey, you're playing my game. We should have technically 20 figures left. So we're pulling it.

All right. Am I supposed to just go with the first one? Yeah, just go with the first one. Don't feel around for special. The joints are loose already, I can tell you.

Somebody's played with this one. Oh! Of course, 3PO. No, wait. You're wrong.

His head's backwards. Oh, you lost a nerd point. For that one, man. Come on. I don't think so.

Without the head and the fact that this one's worn out, I'm deducting points for you have not kept this in the package. You did not put it behind glass like a true geek is supposed to. By the way, it's the silver droid from the Jawa Sandcrawler. Okay, that's another good example. Why they call it the Death Star Droid.

I agree. It doesn't make sense, but it is the Death Star Droid. They did call it the Death Star Droid. We just saw Star Wars last night, so we have a very clear memory. He's in three scenes in the crawler.

Let's see something about these plastics. Yeah. It just wears totally different than all the rest of them. Yeah. Three feel the same problem.

The metallic one, right? Yeah, the fact that they just kind of fall over. It was always impossible to get 3PO to stand up like the other ones because. There's just no grip to it. It just gets loose.

It was either completely vertical or completely horizontal. There was no catch. He can dance. Look at him. He's got his space moves.

He can walk like crazy, man. Ironically, the robot had the most moves of all. Couldn't do the robot. Ironically. Strangely enough.

Since you're here, we need something to talk about. Let's show you the previous 2020. came out. Because you talk about action. Nothing says action like this guy, right? Power droid.

So he's basically just a D battery in space, right? With legs. With legs. It comes to you. And he has an outlet for a face, you know?

That's inappropriate. Count the points of articulation. One. Two points of articulation. Put that in a big bubble on the front of the package.

Two ratcheting points. That is a selling point. I mean, flash forward to McFarlane toys, 27 points of articulation. But he did make this clicky sound. So, you know.

I guess it's cool if it were on a different road. What I'm wondering, did young Brian, did he ever have the backstory adventures of the power droid. No, young Brian didn't bother getting that one because it was lame. Well, I think young Ben got it in his stalking from Santa, so screw you. Okay, man?

I think we need to take this up with Santa. All right. No, he employs slave labor and discriminatory policies. Okay, here's a good one. Check out the points, the number of articulation points on this one.

Now, this one I did like. He had a lot of adventures. Again, because he was sort of a Hoff-based droid. Do you remember his name? FX7?

FX7, yeah. We knew it was FX something. I don't know. Calculus, but I know the name of the damn Star Wars movie. That's what I'm saying.

You've got to have a geek point somewhere. Did you mess with these arms much? No, because I didn't want to break them. That's the thing. I kind of left mine alone.

I was very worried about that one there. That one seems pretty sturdy. That one always had that bend, though. These always look like they were just like, as soon as I put it up, the little. describing the little ones on the side here, that were pinned down when you got them. But technically, you could pop them out and hub them up and move them around a little bit.

Not much. A little bit. Just raise them up. They didn't go out 90 degrees. They went about 30 maybe.

But I only assumed, you know, once again, Little Brian only assumed that my toy wouldn't be messed up. And God forbid that happened. So I assumed as soon as I pulled that out, it was never going to go back down. It was never going to stay in place again. And I'd have this half-popped-out droid arm nonsense going on.

I wouldn't have it. So he sat very nicely and then went on his adventures, and he did everything with this arm. He was a little handicapped, but he was handicapable. That's right. And he made use of his arm.

You know what that meant? By not using the other arms, you had a figure with one point of articulation. His bobbing head? Well, so he could see over the hedge. Excuse me, am I needing medical attention over there?

I really, really am interested in your thoughts on this guy. Pondo Baba. No, that is not his name. It is Walrus Man. It is how I referred to him then and still.

On the card, it says Walrus Man. That is his official name. That is on his space driver's license. Mr. And Mrs.

Baba named him Pondo. That is some extended universe crap. No, no, no. No, I think that was. See, to me, the changeover on this was when Hasbro took over it.

The Kenner toy was always Walrus Man. Then when they started making that new run in the 90s or whatever it was, when they started gearing up for the prequels, they were just like, oh. Man, we can't just call him Walrus Man. Everybody else has like a real name. These kids ain't in the 70s.

We can't just call him Hammerhead. That's just making fun of his physical deformities. We gotta come up with something. And calling him Walrus Man was making fun of his great big teeth. Or possibly his heritage.

That's racism, damn it, man. Exactly. Nobody's saying walrus is a pejorative. You know, it's like. Walrus would be awesome.

It's the imperial man keeping down the walrus. You say it that way, yeah. You're saying that mocking. Tone, sure. Everything I say isn't a mocking tone.

Well. But I. Yeah, I don't know. It's good for you. To me, I appreciate it.

He didn't really have much to do. Of course I had him because he was brightly colored and he looked like a mutant freak. But, you know, that kind of bothered me because his color palette didn't match the other characters. It was very, I don't know, he was such an odd guy. He also kind of has flippers.

Yeah. Like, Greedo doesn't have flippers. Greedo wears moon boots, but he's got flippers on. I don't really get that. Greedo's cool.

I mean, Greedo is stylish. Well, why don't we just... Let's bust out some Greedo right now. Let's bust out some Greedo. Okay, what do you think?

It looks nothing like he does in Star Wars. Greedo is hot. That's what I think of now when I think of him. Hot? Why do you think he's hot?

Because I've talked to Maria, who is inside the Greedo suit, and then I watched her other movies, and I've seen Greedo naked. Really? Greedo gets naked. Inside. Does she still have the big, long, floppy fingers?

Not at that point. When she was in the pool, she took all that off. All that off. What movie did the Greedo actors take off her clothes? I don't think I'm mad.

Actually, I talked to her about it, and She didn't have any problem with that. She's actually one that's even more racy than that one. But the one that I enjoyed was Blood Mania. Terror that rips the screams right out of your throat. Suspense that traps you in a web of shadows and fear.

I expect $ 50, 000 in two weeks. A treacherous journey inside a nightmare of passion and death. A love affair with horror. Blood Mania. A terrifying film experience that explores the twisted souls of insanity.

When there is no reality, there is no such word as evil. You've been after Craig Cooper for years and he won't give you a tumble. What makes you so hard to get? A bargain of the flesh made by an ambitious doctor who sought to escape his own past. I need 50,000.

I know how to get it. I give, devise, and bequeath the remainder of my estate to my daughter, Gail Waterman. Come back! I hate you! Two sisters, blood sisters.

One the victim of a love that was a lie. The other tormented by demons of jealousy and hate. Blood mania. I don't want the money. I have you.

A suspense shocker in the psycho tradition. An electrifying tale of intrigue, madness, and death. come prepared for the shocking climax the last 15 minutes will jolt you right out of your seat. Blood mania is a nice uh like i think if it's early yeah i think it's like mid early 70s and uh it's it's a horror movie and it it does what most 70s horror movies do which is midway in just takes this weird turn that makes no sense whatsoever But it's very atmospheric and cheesy. And did I mention cheesy? It's a very cheesy horror.

Is she still kind of doing stuff? I don't think she's acting so much. I think she lives in Canada now. She was sort of cross cultures. She's dual citizenship, I believe.

She was living up there last night. The thing I think that bothered me about the Greedo figure, though... was, again, it didn't look like his outfit in the movie. It looks like he's wearing a leotard, you know, covering up his whole finger. It's only in years since then I've started trying to piece this stuff together. How did this figure happen?

Do you think they did a concept art first, made the toys from the concept art, while some dude in England was like, here, put this on. And they didn't really match up. But at that point, it was like, eh, close enough. I think they were half-assing it, and they were just giving photos of the heads. And it was up to them to figure out what the body looks like, you know?

Somewhere in between all this is probably the truth. Because you compare, like, again, the colors on Walrus, and just the name Walrus Man, I think they were just half-assing it because they had to get it out. That's what I'm saying. Luke just had a lot on his shoulders at that point. But because they were half-assing it, that is the name that he will have for the rest of my life.

For me, just because, yeah. I still call him Walrus Man. Yeah. Of course, or you could go the Beatles way, The Wall vs. Paul.

I think his name is Paul. All right. All right. Oh, here's... Speaking of Paul's.

Oh, hello, sir. Welcome to Movie Meltdown. Hi. Movie Meltdown. Hey, we've been trying to get Paul on Movie Meltdown for a long time.

We finally pried his restraining bolt off and. He has left the house. It's the craziest thing. I know. And unfortunately, this is the sort of activity that's going to make me regret it.

Regret doing it. See, I was just. I'm channeling my grumpy old curmudgeon. Do you two have kind of a love-hate thing going? No, no.

Hey, be sure to talk into that mic so we can get you on our podcast. No, most importantly, this one. This one's important. This is. I'm happy.

You know, this is way more comfortable, by the way. to hold the mic rather than. Yeah, the guys on Tower Technobabble, they don't know what the hell they're doing. No, they're inexperienced. It's our first time at Winterfest. We don't know what we're doing.

Do we want to complain about that show? Because I have some Okay, so I was talking the other day to my neighbor, Paul. We were out between the towers. If you'll notice, when you look out the window, you see that loomy nuclear tower. That's me.

Over there, you have some carpeted kiddie tower. Whatever it is you guys have. That's how I find my way home when I'm out of town. I look for the light and I drive toward it. But yeah, we were discussing, hey, we need to do stuff.

And then Paul was like, I can't. My wife beats me and keeps me in a closet. I think is what you said. No, I said pushing me down the stairs. That does sound like her.

I won't use her real name. Did you install a staircase? Yeah. Out on me, man. There's a lot of push presses and then throwing downstairs.

We'll call her Ginny. Because I'm assuming she wants to not be associated with either of our shows. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right. So we already couldn't put that one together. But then I had some other things occur to me recently.

And I was like, all right, I'm going to have to come here and throw down the gauntlet. What the hell is going on? Because many a year ago when we got these shows together, and I was like, dude, you guys are doing a show? I'm doing the show. Let's get our shows together.

Let's cross over and be one badass system here. I've crossed over so many times. Sort of. But let's do the math here. I was almost a regular character there for a couple months.

That's the issue I have. How many times have I been on Power of Techno and Babble? Not including today. One. I went through and did the math.

There was actual calculating involved to figure out how many times you guys have been on Movie Meltdown. Would you like to take a guess? Eight. Nineteen episodes. Whoa!

Nineteen times you or Dave or you and Dave have been on, and I've tried, Paul, but we couldn't. Yeah, as we said. So you guys have been on 19 episodes. I've been on one. Screw you guys.

Well, you know what? I've got to say, after hearing the evidence, he's totally justified. You're right. We should totally stop this world record thing. That's right.

Well, that's my other reason for coming here. I've decided. I was trying to be Anakin and do the good thing, but you pushed me to the dark side. So I've gone full-on villain now. You're going to go slay some sand people.

No, I'm going to spend the rest of this weekend trying to completely tear this thing apart. You'll see me over creeping in the corner, unplugging shit. All you've got to do is hit that button. Everything is going through that one power strip right there. I'm going to be standing in front of a camera so you won't have recorded evidence.

You name it. The rest of this weekend, you'll see me lurking about with the mustache twirling. Coming up with some sort of sinister plot to take this down. Can I give a rebuttal to your. You have one minute, sir.

Okay. You don't like to use Skype. And you have told me several times, me and Skype do not... I said I don't like it. I don't use it for my show.

But I'm not running your show. I don't know if you noticed that. That's probably why you're having all these problems. But you took it upon yourself to do it through Skype. That's not...

So... See. You get together in one room. We like to stay in our comfy houses and not get in each other's grill. That's true.

This has been a very hard weekend for us. Yeah, it's extremely difficult. Nerves have been frayed. wills have been tested. As I've said. Previously, this may be the activity that cures me of all future activities.

Yes. Entirely. We're not going to have anything. To talk about ever. No, we don't need to.

We've just taken care of the entire, almost the entire year of podcasts. We don't have to do any other ones. That's why I told you. If you and I weren't doing a podcast together, Paul, this probably would have been the conversation, the amount of time we would have talked for the rest of our lives, actually. Quite possible.

40 hours, you know. But yeah, that's why you came up with this idea and you told me about it. I was like, yeah, good luck with that. That's not a good idea at all. It's like walking your dog all at once.

Like, walk him from one state border to the other and back and go, there, you're done. Don't ever ask me again. Well, Brian, I got the impression that you just did not like the Skype experience, so. I don't think it's the best way to record. Yeah.

But that's just me. And I just, okay, I blame myself. Hey, wait, quick question, production question. Oh, production meeting. Are you okay with Mark's feed store?

Yes, very much so. Good. All right, that's it. Get something for Brian. Get something for Brian, too.

I'll pay for it. Because I feel I owe him now, okay? Oh, more than that. I've been tallying it up. I've got a running turtle.

What do you want your order? We owe Brian apparently $ 19. Sloppy Joe's from. You have to eat them all in one sitting, though. $ 19, 000. There, you are done.

You are done. We don't owe you anything now. No, no. It's a grand per episode. $ 19, 000. I would like you to donate towards our show.

You know, I like to think, sure, I've been on the show over ten times. I like to think that I gave you the gift of content. Yeah. No, no. If you'll notice, we had plenty of people there, and we would have yammered on just as easily.

I'm just saying, I wanted you to be there. I think the last one I was on. I wanted you to be there. Oh, thank you, man. But I didn't have that in the other one.

I wasn't wanted on yours. Again, in my defense, I've been trying to organize the campfire. For such a long time. Yeah, but you know we won't let you touch matches. But nobody...

We had our meeting. We didn't tell you about it. This is why we do Skype. Nobody will coordinate their schedules, you know? Dave and Paul and other Dave all got together and went, we do not want him near a fire.

There is no way we're going to let this happen. I think it's true. He's as competent with fire as he is with celebrities. I didn't piss off Phil Tippett. That's a first for me.

Well, he's sort of the anti-celebrity, though. That's true. Celebrity. Anti-celebrity celebrity. I pissed off Everclear and Hootie and the Blowfish and Dom McLean.

I've heard the Hootie story. Actually, I made you write down the Hootie story. Now, Mark Book, who's listening right now, he pissed off Flock of Seagulls. I didn't do that. I had nothing to do.

With Flock of Seagulls. What did he do? Well, he did something because they stole his drum cases. So he did. Something to provoke that.

Mark's a trouble maker. If you remember, I worked with Mark. He's a button pusher right there. He likes mixing it up, that book character. I know.

I think my favorite thing he did, we were playing at Headliners and some celebrity band was playing after us. And Mark asked, hey, can I play on your drum kit while we open for you? And the guy was like, I can't remember who it was. He was like, nah, I think I'm going to be a rock star tonight. So.

And that band was Rush. Yes. It was quite a drum kit. I mean, he really, no wonder he wanted to play. Anyone would have gone.

It was like jungle bars and monkey bars and stuff in there, man. Oh, hey, Paul. Yeah. You missed the figure of the hour. Oh, is it?

Oh, yeah, it's him. He's loose. We've discussed it. I don't know if that's an attack on his character. You know, I had one that was also loose.

That's what I said as I pulled it out. It was a design flaw. It's that type of plastic. This fancy, shiny plastic. Yeah, and as it wears from where you would, you know.

Why were you rubbing your droid so much? Well, he was trying to get three more witches out of him, you know? The wine doesn't look like that. That's all I'm saying. Hey, with every rub you do... the eBay value goes down, so just be careful there.

There's a little clock ticking away on the eBay page. I'm seeing this dollar amount over, and it's slowly ticking down. The more you rub it. Yeah, he's awfully loose. Again, the tax on his character.

But whatever. He can pop and lock. Pop and lock. So, did you. See, that's what I.

Was making the answer. I wish this was a visual podcast. That's, again, your own doing right now. Paul is making the robot do something that would result in a boy baby robot. I gotta get a photo of this guy.

I love it. Good evening. It's intermission time. And during the next ten minutes, we invite you to visit our refreshment stand, located in the center of the drive-in. Hungry?

Then treat yourself to a luscious Castleberry barbecue sandwich, prepared in that traditional southern way. Doesn't that look good? Wait till you taste it. Rich and savory with that open-pit barbecue flavor. Castleberry slow cooks the choicest cuts of meats over an open pit of smoldering oak coals, cooks them to their juiciest peak of perfection, along with your choice of hot coffee, a cold soft drink, or some wonderful ice cream that you'll also find in our snack bar to tempt your palate.

And remember, Castleberry barbecues are not just meat with barbecue sauce. They're pit-cooked barbecues prepared the Southern way. Alright, yeah, here I was gonna play a Tower of Technobabble promo, but you're hearing more than enough of these guys, right? We plugged them non-stop this whole episode. So I say we pay it forward to somebody else, and now let's use this time to play something from our friends at Night of the Living Podcast. We're a show that is ostensibly about horror. Booby bouncing from the running.

That monkey was Benson. He had sex with Kim Cattrall. Open your mouth so I can fill the void. Rats are gross. Far eastern yeti have smaller feet than.

So like what are we supposed to learn from that? You're like, shit, this is the one with the really fat guy. Yeah. Damn it. Okay.

Doo-Wop Shop. Hello, this is Peter Mayhew, listening to Movie Mountain Down. It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen enough movies. All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now, on with the show.

And you made me smile For a little while I was falling in love And inside your. Eyes All right, so... So, Brian, how's it going for you? Yeah. Here at this.

Wonderfest, hmm? Um, we're jammed back in the corner over there because these bastards are over here. Well, we were discussing earlier about, you know, you move in and you think your neighbors are going to be cool, but then they're, like, out in the yard making a lot of noise, like, throwing frisbees into your windows and shit. Hey, Brian! Just saying.

Just saying. That's pretty much how it's gone. So luckily I just left. So that worked pretty well because then I wandered off and looked at Jaws. So I've wandered around.

And the rest of the show's been great. I was told it was going to be the real Jaws head and it wasn't. It was a reproduction of the Jaws head, right? You can take your picture with it. You got that going.

You know, there's these girls that had three little pug dogs and they put the pug dogs inside the Jaws mountain. Got a picture of that. That is worth their money right there. I'm also taking a picture of the Death Star Droid. Oh, no, I don't want it on Facebook.

So what kind of. Adventures did you take the Death Star Droid on, Paul? What? What kind of adventures did you take the Death Star Droid on? Oh, as a child?

How did he get so rubbed out? No, as a teenager. And why is he so floppy? Well, it started with him being buried about, you know, 12 inches into the ground. You were a sandbox kid with him, weren't you?

Yeah, absolutely. Because the kids down the street from me had that, and they would take their, and like, see, this was my mistake. I tried to be like, hey, let's be friends and trade toys. Let's make friends, yeah, right. And so then, like, I took one of his, and he took my Han Solo.

This was the original run Han Solo, not Best of the Steves. And so it was the big head it was the big head I have to say I didn't like the big head but you know I didn't know any different at the time so yeah I let him borrow it for like a couple of days or whatever it was and they had a sandbox in the backyard and he looked like he lived there the entire time when I got it back I was just like mine I took care of his you know it was pristine and it sat on a shelf for a day or whatever I did with it but like he took it out back and like taped firecrackers to it I don't know I was beat to hell when I got it back I was just like Well, I guess we didn't lay the ground rules out, so I can't really be mad, but no more trading with you, buddy.

Are you still his friend to this day? I did recently come across him on Facebook. I did not. Was he covered in sand? He would be like, I haven't talked to you in 70 years.

Leave me alone, you freak. Something to that effect. I only assume. So, you know, this is also Paul's first year here. Out of the house.

He went to the dealer room. And, uh, we were listening to him as he was going through and it was like, um, It was like Robin Williams saying, oh, look at this wonderful thing. It was really funny. It was nothing but a series of, wow, I want that. That one's mine.

Whoopee, a Zeppelin. Whoopee, a Zeppelin. That's mine. I did. I did.

I sent you photos. Oh, tell me about the model contest room. There are a lot of them, and they're all almost exquisitely done. I mean. There's a couple amateur entries that are obviously done by little kids.

Hey, I put my name on there. Shut up. I saw yours was the X-Wing, wasn't it? Yeah, but it was made out of, like, I stuck some aluminum cans together and sort of bent one. It was like, X-Wing!

X-Wing! Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah. Don't upset the master. Ben is now looking at photos of the awesome, awesome models down in the model room.

Oh, and there's the pug dog in the shark mouth. Okay, that is adorable. Come on. Who doesn't want to put their pug dog in a shark mouth? Wait, maybe that came out.

So, what are your plans here, Brian? You got any hot interviews lined up? As soon as this room closes, I'm ditching you guys. I'm free to roam the world. When does this room close?

Five? Is it five it closes? I think it's... I think it is, isn't it? I've lost track.

Oh, shit. Boy, tell me about it. I've lost track. I was here for like an hour, so it's crazy. Hey, how are you guys doing?

Hey, you know, I was going to ask you, have you been able to watch the Game of Thrones at all? Is that anything that tracks on your radar? I'll tell you how it tracks. It tracks as, man, that's a lot of hours of stuff to watch that I do not have time for. It looks really interesting.

It looks well done. That blonde chick's super hot. She has dragons. I know all of these things. I don't know if you're into the sword and sorcery type of stuff, are you?

Dude, I live and breathe Beastmaster, alright? Beastmaster! Beastmaster's in my veins. So obviously I am on board with that type of thing, but it's a lot of hours. It's only 37 episodes.

It's only 37 hours. You can knock that out. We're going to do 40 hours in a weekend. What's your excuse? I don't want to do that.

Once you start, you can't stop. I'm telling you. I got to. Tell you, can I just be a complete man here? I don't know if you can, but all right, try.

The boob, Colton, is amazing for episode. I won't say again. Two per female. I will totally admit to my manliness in saying I may or may not have run across a. Few of them on the internet.

Yeah, yeah. So I might have already seen a few snippets of that. It's like, why do you watch The Wicker Man? Hand to heart, why do you watch it? Because that song is awesome.

Now, what she's wearing when she's singing it or not has nothing to do with the fact that that song is awesome. Just saying. Corn rigs and barley rigs. Corn rigs of barley. I think you're kind of thrusting.

Yeah, you're not doing it quite the same. No, I mean, you know. You work with what you got, right? That was being sung while the guy was in a seaplane, okay? I mean.

Come on. That's not the same at all. He was dancing in the seaplane. Okay, well. Do you think you're going to.

This is impressive that I can even do this right now. I know. We're on Death Star Droid, but you're doing what you're doing. What hour are we on? I'm more impressed that the Death Star Droid is still standing.

I know. I'm going to use the force now and knock him away. My dark powers. What did I tell you? There you go.

That was impressive. Audio podcast that On two audio podcasts that will never be seen. That was the funniest thing. It was all timing. Keep in mind.

The force. Now, Brian, I knew you had a beef with us. Many. And that's why I want you to know we all pitched in and we got you a little something. So, uh.

It's not actually this. It's inside these. This is our way of apologizing to you. A major award, a father and son award, because we figure you're like the father podcast, and we're the little upstart podcast that's going to get our hand chopped off. Whatever you're saying, I'm playing with lightsabers.

Hold on. No, that's impossible. Shut up, bitch. Didn't you guys add your own later? I don't know, that was just me growing up.

I don't actually steal your toys. No, no, we got them for you. I got those in 1985, distinctly knowing I was going to piss you off someday, and I'd been keeping them ever since. You do know I'm a geek, and I know that wasn't in 85. 96, maybe.

This is sleepy mouth here, okay? I'm very sleepy. Nice try, but 96. But please, take them with our compliments. Did you like yell at you to get crap out of the house?

We are having a baby, yes. Get this stuff out of this room. We have a crib to put together. Did you hear about the lizard? You're having a lizard?

No. That is way better than a baby. I know, I know. Well, it's a lizard baby. I keep trying to get.

People to have puppies instead of babies, but they always go for babies. I keep giving my wife eggs, telling her to strip naked and walk into the fire, and she Do it. But you haven't seen Game of Thrones, so that makes no sense to you at all. Either way, it works. I've watched a video kind of like that before, if that helps.

It has nothing to do with Game of Thrones. It's the internet. Maybe you with Game of Thrones has been like me with... Krull and Jaws and Alien I've seen all of the 80's I've seen all of the most poignant clips I've never seen these movies but I've seen all of the major clips so it's like I've seen the cliff notes kind of like you in Game of Thrones all the best bits are topless so you've seen all the best bits right. There were some nice bits I'm just saying there were some interesting moments of intrigue in the Game of Thrones you know world what yeah intrigue intrigue suspense murder by the way.

I've given anything off to here i'll let you you can you can collect toys later you can collect these after the uh. Oh don't let them fall because those lightsabers will snap i. Gave them toys okay you're not off the. Hunt so let's work the other way now have you guys seen. Any movies lately oh movies.

Maybe this is another problem i don't The last movie I saw, honestly, was the last Hobbit movie, and I didn't like it. Oh, yeah, I watched that. I still haven't watched it. Really? I watched that recently, actually.

Will that mic work? Oh, no, not for this. We're double fisting. Right, right, I forgot. I keep forgetting.

I saw X-Men the other day. Oh, there you go. We were having our X-Men discussion, so feel free to add to it. What were your thoughts on it? Or should we not spoil it for everyone else?

I don't really care. Go ahead. I'm a comic book fan from way back, and A, I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a good story. B, it erased.

Spoiler alert. I think we already addressed this on our show, but go ahead. It erased X3. That's what I said. I was like, it got up to two and went, now let's see.

I'm Bryan Singer. Where did I leave off? Yeah, everything from here bullshit. Choppy choppy. And, you know, they had Kitty Pryde sending Wolverine back in time, which that's not her power set.

But you know what? They erased X3, so I'm going to. Live with it. But she's going like this with her hands. Yeah.

See, that's not really her. So it's cool. That's not really her deal, but again. I'm totally lost. Yeah, I know.

Going like this. It's more like this. But if she's a kitty, she doesn't have fingers. She's got paws, right? So she was doing like, you know.

No, Kitty's got claws. She was. I was kind of hoping she'd. Do that pawing at you thing, you know, when the mood strikes them. Making some bread.

Kneading the dough. Sometimes, you know. Whatever gets you through the night with Kitty. Oh, hey, you should check out the model room. Because apparently I've been on Movie Meltdown way too many times, so I'm.

Going to go take a pee break. Way too many times. Paul and I are going to stay over here. While I'm gone, I want you to make up Lost Time with Paul. Go over all the 19 topics that you.

Can go over with me. Oh, really? 19 topics. That's right. In the beginning, God said unto Paul.

There could be only one. And he said, I don't watch movies. And the show was over. I watch plenty of movies. Unfortunately, most of them suck.

They're really, really bad movies. That's what I'm a fan of. Are you spiraling blindly through Netflix and just hitting the screen? That can lead to trouble. Well, but see, that's the kind of trouble I like to get in.

Then you can't complain after that. Mega Shark versus Mecha Shark. Have you seen that one? I'm a shark to push kind of guy myself. Okay, yeah, seen that one.

Oh, ah. Have you seen Grabbers? I know of it. You've got to see Grabbers. You will love.

Grabbers, actually. We're going to put a picture of you in for the Grabbers special episode. Okay. That's what we're saying. Yeah, absolutely.

That's totally worth it. In fact, I might be able to get a special someone I know to sign on for that one. Jenny. That Jenny character is probably up for it. I may or may not have been talking to her earlier.

I don't think I... She may have introduced herself by her real name, but we'll say Jenny. Well, whatever. Anyway, Grabbers. Definitely, I'm trying to remember who's the guy that makes the appearance in that.

He's sort of the, he plays an alcoholic. I'm going to go with Tim Curry. No, no, he would be too old for this. He's sort of, the character is sort of the heartthrob, but man. It's going to bug me.

I'll have to look it up. Anyway, so yeah, there's that one. Grabbers. Grabbers. And it's actually a good monster flick.

What era is this? Oh, yeah, last five years. All right. I'm partial to The Burrowers. Have you seen The Burrowers?

The Burrowers? No, that's a new one for me. We had, actually, J.T. Petty directed it, and he was on the show, kind of the coolest guy ever, and saw the movie, like, after that, I think, and, like, was impressed by just how good it was, like, It's, like, basically. Sort of along the lines of, like, a Tremors sort of thing.

Okay. Only it's also set in the Old West. It's really creatively done. And what's it called? The Grab...

No, wait. I'm missing it here. It was... It's not like you've been awake for the last. And the Burrowers.

Yeah, but I have no brain skills anyway. Oh, yeah. Okay, the Burrowers. So is it still, like, subterranean critters that... Something along those lines, yes.

But they're very clever, the way that he puts them together. Yeah. When was that released? Early 2000s. Maybe 8 or so.

Moving into the later 2000s. Grabbers, 2012. And the heartthrob lead. Was Richard Coyle, who you may have recognized him from the BBC show Coupling. That's not British, is it?

Yeah. I don't want to have to watch British things. Oh, yeah, it's a British movie. I have to put on a translator. I speak American, thank you very much.

American. Hi, Jenny. And, yeah, anyway, so Burrowers. We'll find you a new name. What's your code name?

Code name. Jenny. You don't want to be associated with either of our. Shows yeah you don't want to get involved with this alright whatever you do don't marry a man that is into this stuff you. Don't want to get involved with this she was hooked right there sucker let's see what else.

What else are you asking me or is this just a general topic. I don't care whoever has seen anything. Well, hey, last night we were talking to, like, the biggest Godzilla fan ever. And I don't know your thoughts on Godzilla. You for it or you against it?

What do you. Tune in next week to find out. Ah, that's the upcoming show. It's the coming in the near future episode. Can you give us a taste?

Give us a little teaser. Yeah, there's lots of that. Really? Okay. Oh, and explosions.

Probably. A few explosions. And the sound of that sparking fire, you know, sound. The. Him sparking.

His fire, it's not the old one that he used to be. It's like a flamethrower mixed with a... Like a lightening or a big lighter? Yeah, sparks. Yeah.

The crackle of sparks flying. It's not exactly the same. They've changed a little, but I have to say his new nuclear-powered blast is pretty impressive. So you did see the new one? I have seen it.

Okay, I haven't seen it yet. We will be discussing it at great length. Sometime in the near future. And I think hopefully I'll see it before you all talk about it. All right.

Did you guys? Probably not. Did you guys get all the 19 topics that Paul missed? Yeah, yeah, we totally did. Oh, wait.

Covered it. Did you do your top five movie songs, Paul? Did we do movie songs? Yeah, I did that one, too. It was awesome.

That was a whole different episode. Down in the valley. If you would like to say, I mean, we've only got two-thirds, so if we want to round out the. Set at some point, we can do that, but I won't make him do it. Wait, wait, wait.

You've got three-fourths. Well, no, I already have the other one. We just haven't worked that. Into the episode. Dave sent him a Towerbots top five song.

So we can do Paul and Towerbots as their own episode. If you'd like. Oh, I get you. I get you. See, you're thinking ahead.

You've got to be thinking ahead. There's a lot of carbon scoring. Oh, they don't have any copies. Duplicates. Oh, no, wait.

So I wanted to hear. The thoughts about the second piece of the Hobbit trilogy. You said you saw it. You didn't like it. Was it the second or the first?

Did you say that? I didn't because I haven't seen it yet. Oh, you haven't seen it. Oh, that's right. I saw the first one and I was like, oh, okay, whatever.

The second one pissed me off. Really? What was it about it that you didn't like? The overkill of it. I have that in general.

Like just the scenes that were never in the book that they added in just to make a trilogy? The never-ending action scenes. But the thing that really pissed me off more than anything was the dragon chase in the mountain. You know? Like, up until the point where Bilbo's talking to Smaug, that's all really, really cool.

I mean, it was a good conversation. It was good acting. But then they do the thing where the dwarves sneak down with them, and Smaug's certainly chasing them. I'm not going to spoil this for you. Oh, my God.

There's a dragon in this? There's not only a dragon. There's a molten dwarf. For some reason. Which is ironic because it's giant.

For some reason, they were able. Are we going to spoil this for you? Should we not say this? I have no idea when I'm going to get around to it. Okay, do you want me to tell you this?

For some reason, after 200 years that they were able to stay away, they were able, within five minutes, to create, fill, and build a 40-story tall gold molten dwarf that suddenly melts all over Smaug, which was my favorite part. It had hardened just enough so that when the cast is pulled away... It looks very beautiful and shiny, but then starts to fall apart. That's nice. Then you've got a gold-covered dragon.

I've had this for years and years. Now with Jackson. I went too far. I have one main issue. One word.

Editing. Why? Why did he forget how to edit? If you go back in time and look at the run times of his movies, they were like 90-minute movies. He knew how to make a movie.

I didn't mind the Lord of the Rings. That's a fair point. No, they were too long to do. Two Towers is way too freaking long. I was such a fan of the books, though, and he was sticking more to the books then.

Now he's just throwing in stuff. Well, now because there's some dude writing a check that says, oh, we need a trilogy so we can parse all this stuff out and sell action figures. Why did trilogies become such a big deal? Money. Well, single money.

Star Wars did it. Yeah, Star Wars did it. Was that it? Yeah, they ruined it for everyone. Because Superman tried to do a quadrilogy, right?

That worked, right? Well, we did achieve peace through our quest. I mean, if we wouldn't have had the quest for peace, how would we now be in this wonderful, peaceful world that we live in? And Star Trek did a sextology, right? I don't know.

Where do you cut it off? Just the old cast, and then do you count generations? That's expanded universe. Oh, wait, wait. I think that's expanded you.

I wanted to, you briefly touched on something there that I wanted to bring back. Up that The quadrilogy or the sext trilogy? No, no, no, no, no. Go back further. I'm making up words here.

The desire that we have over here to. Make sequel after sequel after sequel, whereas over in Europe and the UK, they'll do a movie and totally be satisfied with that. Even though there's plenty of room to do a sequel, they are happy to let it lie. Is it because... It's generally state-funded entertainment.

Depends on what country we're talking about. There are no sequels in North Korea. Then we can reference Godzilla. How many Godzillas have there been in this year? No, no, no.

I'm speaking more of movies from the UK. Yeah, see, I think you're depending on that. Well, the James Bond. Well, notwithstanding. Is Star Wars considered an American or a British film?

I think it still counts as American because it's all American-funded. But, I mean, that's kind of questionable. I mean, it's a mix of American and British actors. You know what I think it might be, Paul? I'm not sure British movies are original screenplays.

Aren't they usually based on novels, and novels tend to be more standalone? The exception being Harry Potter, obviously. That might be my impression. I don't know. Well, they definitely do this with TV, right?

Like, American TV will just beat a story to death, you know, like. Season to season. Season 12. And, you know, the BBC is like, all right, you get seven episodes. That's it.

That is because it's state-funded. I think movies are different. Movies are a different animal. Like, they're a commercial venture. Yeah, but there's just not as many sequels in the U.K., Yeah, but there's not as many movies either.

There's not as many. People, maybe. I don't know. Mark Cochran, if you're not as many, period! We have a friend in England, Mark Cochran, if you listen, please text our Facebook and let us know the answer.

We are a sprawling country compared to most. I guess we also decided to make a whole bunch of movies to go with. Wow. T, you want to tap the computer, get it back on? I'm just waiting for some kind of hot food to get thrown.

At my face so I can throw some groceries. Down my neck. Classy. Oh, boy. When's our Jerry Reed hour?

Yeah. You know how they always have Talk Like Pirate Day? You took all the rambling out of me, girl. I would much prefer that because I'm sick to death of a pirate nonsense. How did that start?

What's the deal with murder and bloodthirsty pirates? I blame that Jerry Depp bouncer. Yeah. Really? Like, did anybody care?

Hardly his fault, though. I would blame Disney more than anybody. Yeah, but, I mean, it's so easy to blame Disney for everything. Yeah, but they've done some quality things, but the whole pirate thing. One movie, again, talk about one that should have stopped at one, but kept beating the cash cow.

Right. Because that first one was pretty entertaining. Wait, what? Which one? Pirates of the Caribbean.

Oh, right, right, right. It was entertaining. Yeah, could have let it be. You could have left. You know.

I would have liked the sequels better if they would have moved to different seas, like Pirates of the Aleutian Sea, Pirates of the Caspian Sea, Pirates of Lake Michigan, you know, if they would have kept it going. To different places. There actually were pirates on the ohio river it was down below evansville there were caves in the uh shoreline and pirates would hide out and as the steamboats. Are there gold in them their caves. They would golden them their pits and and they jump out and they ambush the uh steamboats i'm not making this up this is true history you can look it up on ancestry with.

Their long boats like what how did how did they outrun the steamboats rocket boat rocket boat that's right Once. Again, he's making things up. And that's why Madison has the regatta, because it's a tribute to those long-gone pirate days of speedboats on the high river. Madison, home of the rocket boat. Yeah, that's right.

Home of the regatta rocket boat. Rocket boat regatta. Hey, I just noticed we're... I just noticed we're coming up on the hour. Do we have some stuff we need to do?

Yeah, we've got to read a commercial. We just have to hit the split. Oh, my God. My head is kind of killing me. You should take a nap.

I know. I know. I really ought to. You should all take a nap at the same time. Well, one of us has to talk.

No, you should all take a nap. Yeah, I agree. Look at this yeah I definitely want to do that before see later on tonight we are reading the Empire Strikes Back can I let the cat out of the bag Yeah. Hey, dude. Sorry, go on.

We're going to read The Empire Strikes Back as if it were a country western. Not a western western? I've gone off of script. Not a western western. A country western.

Like a country western song. You let the cat out of the bag on that like a long time ago. You were talking about a week ago. You're real fast. Oh, have we?

Wow, you actually listen to this? How come I'm. The one that's on top of what's going on. In your show? Well, for those who are just tuning in, right?

We're letting it out now. And last week. No, yeah, so we're going to do that. And I want to take a nap before that, so I'm... I haven't been able to sleep.

I try to take two naps between now and when we started, and I have not been able to sleep. Your napper's broke. It is. It is. So right now, I'm starting to see things on the inside of my eyelids.

You can clear the spot for the special guests. Oh, hey, there's dragons involved. There's dragons. Wait, oh, please, please, you have to come and talk to us, please. I'm going to try to find you over here.

We didn't notice that you had. Dragons there, too. Please sit down. You've got. All right.

Okay, um. I need some help here. Special gift. We're actually doing two podcasts at the same time. Yeah.

It's the first in the world, isn't it? This is tricky. Right, okay. We're doing a world record attempt, and Brian just likes doing podcasts. I like podcasts.

And you're the first Game of Thrones person we've seen. Usually it's all kind of stormtroopers and whatnot, but you've got little basket of dragons, like you just came out of the fire with them. Yeah. I got my baby with me. What's your name?

Amanda. Amanda. And I take it you're liking the Game of Thrones? Oh, I love the show. Why?

What is it about? I just like that genre of fantasy. Better than Tolkien, would you say? No. No.

Really? I wouldn't say that. But you're not dressed as Gwynevere or Gwyndolin. Wait. What's the elf?

Get the book. Her name's Ginny. Galadriel. Well, you're not just as Galadriel unless Galadriel had little baby dragons. She would make a good Galadriel.

My boyfriend actually asked me to make this one and him the Drago costume for Halloween. Spoiler. He gets killed. What the hell did you have for him? Oh, you ruined it.

Yeah. It's a very dramatic ending. He likes that character. It's a very powerful character. It is.

Yeah. He treated you like shit. No, no, there's read the books. They actually love each other. Yeah.

You know what? I just realized my son, my moon. Hold it. Hold it. I just, this is embarrassing.

Okay. We've been taught. I've been taught. I haven't slept for 21 hours. When you said Drago, for some reason I was thinking of your brother.

I don't know why. Okay. I was thinking of the villain in Rocky IV. No, that's... Isn't that him?

Okay, I get it now. I get it now. Drago Malfoy. Your boyfriend is obviously a very big, scary, muscular guy. Yeah, I know.

I was thinking of. Your brother on the show who gets killed with the gold hat. So, okay, never mind. I just wanted to be known. I took the online quiz, and I am.

I have a kinship with the House Targaryen. I took the same quiz, and I'm the Lannister, apparently. I haven't seen that quiz yet. I took a Cosmo quiz once. And how did that work out for you?

Not good. Not good. I only took the quiz because they forced me to. So do you often dress up for these things? I've been coming to this for five years.

Okay. I've dressed up for two years, the past two years. Who did you come as last year? I was Poison Ivy last year. Poison Ivy.

Okay, yeah, remember? I think it was on your pockets. We're like, hey, Poison Ivy just walked by. Go back and look. Let's go to the archives.

And now here's where Brian will pause and go back and insert from that time. Okay. I just had a cosplay question. You know, we were talking about how people dress up, and we just had a Poison Ivy walk by. A very nice Poison Ivy, I might add.

You know, and we got the Stormtroopers walking around, there was a Gorn. Why doesn't anyone ever cosplay as the guy wearing the ping-pong ball CGI suit? That'd be a great. Cosplay, man. Okay, so do you know what you're coming as next year?

Actually, I'm going to dress up again tomorrow as She-Ra. Oh, wow! The princess of power. Wait, yes. Now, is your boyfriend dressing up as the magical flying horse?

No, he's not going to dress up He should dress up as that weird dude with the mustache that hangs out with him. Bo. Bo's an odd character. Yeah, he's... I don't remember Bo.

What does Bo look like? Google Bo. He was the. Bo. Is amusing.

Is it Bo or is it. I think he's confused. Is it Bo as in... He was the. Only guy in that whole forest and yet he.

And he had his little... Mustache and his little heart. It's not a little mustache. He wore his heart, not on his sleeve. He wore it on his chest.

It's like a Tom Selleck mustache. It is a Burt Reynolds Tom Selleck mustache. Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I think he was kind of a...

I don't know. He's like a hag hag. Oh. I can't describe it. Oh, yeah.

He's wearing that crazy tie. No one knew anything about it. Right, right. Whoa. Well, they look very friendly.

Here's how you would explain it. Do you know how in the Masters of the Universe toys there was, like, one girl figure? You know, Teela? In the She-Ra line, there was one dude figure, and that's this guy. So he was the.

And he just sat on the shelves and nobody bought him. Because there was always, like, 40 Eleven Princess Leias. And I was like, what? Come on, girls, buy it. Or at least boys, branch out.

Something. But there would always be a bunch of Princess Leias left behind. I had Princess Leia. I did, too. I had a Princess Leia.

I was a well-rounded young lad. Wait, did I say that? I'm not sure. I haven't thought about that one yet. You know, whenever anyone cosplays as Princess Leia, they always do the slave and the little bikini.

I find the Hoth Leia much more attractive. I don't know why. I actually made a costume for a friend of mine, her daughter, as Leia, like from the first New Hope. Did they do... Do the buns?

Yes. The buns on the hair? Yes. Got to do the buns. They look the same, man.

Or you could have done it at the very end when she's giving out prizes. With her aluminum foil necklace? It's almost the same thing. They just kind of altered it a little bit. Oh, my gosh.

Well, that's great. I've never met a Game of Thrones cosplayer here. Game over. We're done. Game over.

I know another one if you want to start a club or something. Oh, you do? Oh, okay. All right. We're Facebook friends.

Awesome. It makes it totally real. Thank you so much for talking to us. Thank you. If you want to take a free stuff, put it in your dragon basket.

Free stuff. Oh, tell us who your dragons are. I don't remember the name in the book, but it's Toothless. Toothless. Oh, that's right.

She's cross-genre-ing. I'm just confusing everybody. Oh, my. Dragons, we get it. Everybody loves dragons.

Hey, thank you very much. Thank you. Let's see. How are we doing on time? We need to do.

A commercial. Well, did we do the split? We did the split, right? Yes, I did do the split. Oh, you know what this means.

Time to get another figure out of the bag. Oh, yeah. Yeah, figure. I've got to round this thing out. All right, so one more figure out of the bag here, and we'll round this thing out.

What are we going with? Ah, see the classics. Hey, Sasquatch. Hey, Chewie. Not a Sasquatch.

Okay, maybe. Space Sasquatch, at least. Normal Sasquatch doesn't get this cool bandolier going. Now, is that really what that thing's called? Like, I know that it's called a bandolier, but I only know it because of Star Wars.

Is that what they actually call those things? Yeah. Come on, man. Is it really? Yeah, with the.

With the pistolas, and they're shooting in the air, and they have the bandolier. Let's see how bad we can take these actions. I know. What's the English equivalent of bandolier? Fanny pack.

Fanny pack, okay. Bullet fanny pack. Well, he's got a purse on his side. I need to reload. Oh, wait a minute.

Zip. It's like a worst. It's like a Wookiee purse. Don't you talk bad about the Wookiee. It's a worse, yeah.

Now, I know you buried your droid in the sand, which is kind of a euphemism. What'd you do with your Wookiees? What'd you do with your Wookiees, Paul? Well, you know, I never used Chewie as his character. He was always a monster that, you know, attacked the villagers.

Really? You're doing. It. Yeah. You're trying to revoke your Star Wars story.

No, no, no. I mean, I enjoyed the movies, but, you know, playtime was playtime. It was about inventing stories, right? So. Yeah, I think it depends.

Some kids get hardcore about this stuff. That's true. The Yeti attack. Well, he wouldn't play with them if they died in the movie. That is true.

I mean, that's a little too hardcore. You're very special. I was a weird kid. But that's why my Greedo is in prestigious shape. Can't touch him.

I'll die like he did. Maybe that's why. Or grow really impressive breasts. I feel like I'm playing with a dead corpse. If I do that, it's...

Do you need to take this picture? Yep. All right. Well, Movie Meltdown, it's been fun being on for number 20. Movie Meltdown.

It's, yeah. Number one. Number 20, number one. I'm only counting his. I'm taking points off for both of you guys.

Oh, that's awesome. Well, uh. Uh... Uh. Damn, where is it?

There we are. Touchdown. Damn, Wookie. Or he surrenders. I don't know.

Chewie never surrenders. Well, you haven't seen Episode 7. Maybe that's the whole plot. Maybe because Chewie surrenders, that's what brings it out. Maybe I've made a pilgrimage across the country to break into Lucasfilm.

How do you feel having the Mark Hamill, the Carrie Fisher, the back end? Do we really want to get in here? This is like another hour right here. I'm not surprised. Are you happy?

Depends on how it turns out. Do I think it's a. Lazy move on their part? Yeah, kind of. Really?

I thought it would be. You have this opportunity to now do whatever you want. To take the universe that you built. But that's what he wanted to do. And go off.

He who? The guy who quit? Jar Jar Abrams. I don't know. He didn't create this universe.

So he's now taking somebody else's universe, and he can do whatever he wants with it, but instead he's just going to beat the horse that is already sitting underneath him. I think it would have been way cooler for him to just sort of venture off on his own. But do I like those characters? Do I like those actors? I'll be glad to see them back.

This is the bridge. This is the Star Trek generation of Star Wars. Does that mean they're going to crash the Millennium Falcon into a planet? Because I'd watch that. Maybe.

I would feel sad, but it'd be pretty awesome. Oh, yeah. Anything crashing into a planet. The more precious the item, the more interesting it is to watch. That's kind of the only reason to watch that.

Because that scene goes on for like ten minutes of them just crashing through dirt and trees. And Malcolm McDowell going, whoo! I think my favorite is the Enterprise self-destruct in Search for Spock. That is an incredibly painful way to destroy your ship. I mean, all you've got to do is crash the antimatter.

No, they have the stations blowing up and the bridge blowing apart and people being blown out of the hatches. Damn, that's a punishing self-destruct. I just like that there's a function. I built that into my home as well. It's just like, house self-destruct, five minutes.

All right. You know what it reminds me of? The very last episode of Little House on the Prairie. They blowed up the. Whole town, and I'm not kidding.

You saw it. Yeah, yeah. Did they do that to. The railroad. The fight the railroad.

Yeah, to throw off the bad guy. And they figured, well, you bought the land, but you didn't buy the houses, so they blew everything up. They got TNT and blew it up. Did they take their possessions out of them, I hope? Oh, yeah.

They kind of stole the wagons and hid it. They got a wagon train. They're very, very meager possessions. They done moved on. That's pretty cool.

Still doesn't quite rank up there with sledgehammers. The season finale of the. First season and the last season, in their mind, of Sledgehammer tops everything because they got word from the network, look, we're going to get canceled. He's like, all right, let's wrap this thing up. So some terrorist steals a nuclear bomb and he's there to defuse it and he sets it off and blows up the entire city with a nuclear bomb.

Here's the kicker. Network changed their mind. They went, you guys are renewed for next year. What are we doing now? And they loopholed their way right out of there.

The crawl comes on at the beginning of season two. The episode you saw last time was a look into the future. Five years into the future. But now we're right back at where we left off. So we got five years of episodes to go.

Enjoy. Loopholed their way right. Out of there. Really? That is crafty.

No, no, no, no. That is impressive. I don't think that's a good. That's not a good way. You've got to weasel your way out of this, man.

It's okay. They got canceled after that. But I thought that was genius. Genius. It's basically like Poochie was an alien that went back to space.

What? Where he died. Poochie. Yeah, didn't Poochie go back to his home planet and die? Yeah, basically.

Poochie, Poochie, Poochie. Brian, were you a fan of Fringe? I saw a few episodes. Did you enjoy them? Yes.

I like Pacey. That's not the right answer. I like Pacey and stand-in Julian Anderson. Oh, is that why you liked it so much? What?

No. I mean, it was definitely going for that vibe, but, I mean, it was. Very well going for that vibe. Yeah, the empowered woman, sure. Well, no, I was talking about the show as a whole.

It was very, like, hey, remember they canceled X-Files? We can probably do something like that, right? Well, yeah, it's like they took Fox Mulder out and just made a show with Scully, right? But X-Files was ripped off from a show, so it's like, yeah. It's like they ripped, I mean.

See, these two guys have not seen it, have not watched it, and I was such a huge fan of that show. It ended poorly. It's on my list. It ended poorly. So it's basically like Lost and Battlestar Galactica, right?

No, no, no, no. It's not the. A wizard did it, right? It was a wizard. A wizard that was dead all the time.

No, I think it just didn't have the same oomph that it did in the first three seasons. But it just kept... spiraling out of control it kept getting. More and more chaotic and you're like whoa what's going on here and then they reveal all this stuff and you're like how could they reveal any more and they reveal more. You know well a little I saw of it as the extra years went on because I watched a sent him out that first season and then just got i don't know i ended up. Doing something else that night or whatever but like i.

Just lost track yeah but. Every time i would kind of tune back in and be like okay this has gotten way crazier like. Yeah up the ante that was like me and. How i met your mother that's the exact same scenario i went through i was i. Just kind of got busy on that night what was good about it though were the characters were actually enjoyable like the um Walter, who plays the mad scientist guy, right?

I mean, he's doing LSD. He was pretty good. He's doing mind control experiments. I mean, it was fun. But then, you know, it got confusing with Walter and it.

As those crazy plot lines. Those J.J. Abrams twists. They do that. It's a twist.

How many seasons of it should I watch? When should I stop? When does the doggit show up? You know, I don't know. I would watch season one and two and then see how you feel.

If you feel like you have to go on from there, do it. Pursue it. I don't think it's a letdown. I liked where he wrapped it up, but you could tell that just the quality wasn't there in the last season for sure. Anyway.

Have we rounded out this episode? Time to sign off. Wow, yeah. I'm going to wrap this one up. Oh, you don't have the guts to go another 15 hours?

No, I have the brains to avoid doing that. Hang on, I've got to drop the mic. I already went off on your show. You just missed it. That's why I recorded it for you.

It's okay. Let's play it back now. He's going to mail it to you every day. He's going to mail a piece of my podcast to me every week. Here's your microphone.

Oh, I found this cable. So sad. Alright, I've got sense enough to get out of here, so... Thanks for listening. Are you going to do your movie Meltdown sign out?

I'm the equivalent of a Skippy, okay? I'm the, you know, early number one Padawan letter. Get out of my kitchen. He's a cousin Oliver. And we all know what happened to Cousin Oliver.

Nothing. The show just stopped. He went on living with him in harmony. Nope. The dog ate him.

Tiger. Tiger got a taste for human flesh. A little bit of rabies went crazy. Oliver's buried in the backyard now. A little bit of rabies goes along with it.

Otherwise, that about does it. We won't return next week. Same geek time, same geek feed. That's it. Thanks for listening.
