Guess who? It's 10 o'clock. Do you care where your parents are? This episode is rated M for Misty. Yes, that's right, this is a Misty episode, so it will be laced with profanity even more than usual.
If you're not comfortable with this level of profanity, perhaps this isn't the episode for you. But we have many other episodes to choose from that do not feature Misty and will probably be far less offensive. Okay, maybe. With that having been said, on with the show. Defense Corps forces reported just moments ago.
This is not a drill. Repeat, this is not the drill. At this time, we are requesting the immediate and orderly evacuation of the vicinity. The Coast Guard and the Navy have been alerted and are standing by on the eastern sea. And it continues to burn out of control.
It has been regular. Every five to ten minutes, there has been another convoy of units, fire companies, paramedics. A citywide emergency has been declared. Police officers are still on tactical full alert. 2,000 National Guardsmen are standing by.
Air defense warning read. We're doomed! It's time for Movie Meltdown's Attack of the Killers soundtrack. The live transmission has begun, and we're into the final hour of hell. The End.
What's up and welcome to Movie Mountdown's Attack of the Killer soundtrack. I'm Brian. I'm Misty. And we are coming to you live in digital recording from Fright Night Film Fest here in Louisville, Kentucky. Yeah.
So I thought, because we're here amidst all the horror peoples, I thought this was a good time to work in another music episode. And I really like the horror theme. Again, we like all of our Halloween-themed stuff that go on every year. But last year was the first time we worked in a Halloween-horror-themed music episode. And I really liked it, obviously, because I'm all about some horror bop.
Anyway, so if you can also tie it into movies, that's always cool. So. I thought we would go with that today as a horror-themed episode. And in particular, I thought of a very specific subsection, because I started thinking of this. To me, there's movies that, in a way, the soundtrack starts to reflect what the movie's doing sometimes.
So I was like, sometimes they'll take a very traditional genre, like horror, and then try to do something different with it, and at the same time, in the soundtrack, sort of do that same thing with a cover song. So I thought you like cover songs. I do. So I thought this time we would do cover songs that are in horror movies. And in particular, I found a few that immediately.
Came to me. So my specific example, the one that sort of inspired this whole show, was Scream. Because Scream, to me, was taking a very conventional and worn out at that time genre and totally... throwing it out the window and be like no we're going to do things like this and it redefined that and changed things now granted you had a lot of copycats that sucked for 10 or 15 years after that but it like it totally redefined and reinvigorated people on horror movies at that time and to me the key one on the soundtrack that does that same thing it's taking a very well known cover song totally changing the rules Don't Fear the Reaper I love that version of Don't Fear the Reaper it's Gus which I don't know if I've heard anything else that Gus has done, but that cover.
Song that they do is so awesome. And it does. It sets the mood for that. It's a very creepy, don't fear the reaper kind of message, but it's not done in the super cowbell upbeat version. That we know the original.
It slows it down, and it really totally changes the mood of the song. And definitely that weird. Scene that's going on when she's making out with the Johnny Depp lookalike. Oh, Skeet Ulrich? Skeet.
You know, that Skeet character. Where is he at these days? Jericho-ing? He's out there Jericho-ing. We all go a little mad sometimes.
Our times have come. Here, but now they're gone. The seasons don't feel the. Way they do. Go to the wind.
The sun or the rain. Take my hand We'll be able to fly. Baby, I'm your man. Baby, I'm your. Man La, la, la, la, la.
Valentine is done. They've come Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity. Forty thousand men and women every day Another forty thousand every. Day So come on baby. Take my hand We'll be able to fly Cause baby, I'm your man Baby, I'm your man Love I love love.
Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity So come on baby Take. My hand. We'll be able to fly. Baby, I'm your man. Baby, I'm your man.
I'm your man. I'm your man. Oh, oh. There's always some stupid bullshit reason to kill your girlfriend. Well, I was trying to think.
There was another one that almost immediately came to mind after the Scream one, and it's because this movie and series of movies, as it turned out, to me felt like a direct response to Scream being popular, and it kind of kicked off that series of copycat-type movies that I was talking about before. I know what you did last summer. I love those movies. I love the first one. It's cheesy.
I think we can all agree it's not the finest film ever made, but it's certainly entertaining. It's not as good as the book. I'm not even going to lie. But what's funny is I think the. I'm that person.
Oh, Lord. That's why I'm ignoring it. I don't even want to do that book nonsense. So the one that I thought was the perfect example of that, and I couldn't even remember if it was officially in the movie like part of the soundtrack, because I always gave it credit for having one of the best trailers. Like that trailer for I Know What You Did Last Summer is so cool, and it so heavily features that.
Version of Hush. It's a rowdy-ass song. Yeah, it's such a cool version. I wonder if the reboot will have it in there. I don't know.
It worried me that they were trying to reboot that already, but... It's okay, even the other day, Love said it was okay that they were doing it. Oh, it's got Love's blessing, then we're all set in life. On a side note, I will have to say, Love was on some daytime talk show the other day pushing her new I'm an FBI agent, take me seriously role. Good luck with that.
And I'll have to give her credit. She looks pretty damn good. Because then she brought up the fact that it's been 20 years since that movie came out. So I'm like, that makes her pushing 40. She looks pretty damn good for a.
40-year-old woman, so. And she doesn't look like she's doctored the hell out of herself. So thanks for not doing that, love. Fucking A. But anyway, that.
She hasn't Rose McGowan-ed her face yet, is what you're saying. Please, learn a lesson from so many other starlets. And men. Dude. There's a lot of dudes doing it, too.
Mickey Rourke, I'm talking to you, buddy. Anyway. Kenny Rogers. Please stop. There's the horror of this episode.
Knock that shit off. Facial surgery. Ah! But yeah, either way, I was going to work it in just for the trailer alone. Because I still think, again, even if you don't like that movie, the trailer is so effective the way that it cuts the horror and the kills and everything in there and times it perfectly with that song.
I think it's a great use of that specific song with that movie. And put together a good trailer, which they're hard to come by these days. So the boy and girl are making out, right? When they hear over the radio that this lunatic killer's escaped from an insane asylum. That's not the way it goes.
The boy goes for help, and the girl stays in the car, and she hears this, like, scratching sound. No, he's been decapitated. No, he was gutted. With a hook. Oh, my God.
I think he's dead. We can't just leave him here. Oh, tell me, little Miss Prelaw, what's the charge for mad slaughter? We make a pact. Right here and now, we take the sorry grave.
For the last year, four friends have kept a secret. Are you on drugs? No. Well, then what is wrong? I've had a rough year.
But not all secrets stay buried. Somebody sent this to me. Oh, my God. Someone knows. I know what you did last summer.
Ooh. What they thought would be a new beginning. Toast to us. Is becoming a dead end. Somebody tried to kill you last night.
We have to go to the police. If he wanted me dead, he could have done it. And the mistake they made. It was an accident. There was no accident.
It was murder. What if he's still alive? Hey! What are you doing here? Is coming back to haunt them.
Oh, my gosh. He's after me, too. I got a letter. I got run over. Helen gets her hair chopped off.
Julie gets a body in a trunk, and you get a letter? That's balanced. She's waiting for us to unravel. The wait is over. What are you waiting for, huh?
What are you waiting for? One, two, three, four. Well, got to see the little girl she's on in my mind. Look out about her, she looks so fine. She's the best girl that I ever had.
Except that she's coming and it feels so sad. No, no, no. You callin' my name now Hush, hush You're blowin' my heart But I'm flippin' him now Hush, hush How far I heard. You call my name now Hush, hush. You're blowin' my heart But I'm not the king now Down, down, down Early in the mornin.
Down, down, down Late in the evenin' How. Long Hush, I thought I heard you calling my name now Hush, hush, you broke my heart but. Now I'm not so deep now Hush, hush, I thought I heard you call my name now Hush, hush, you broke my heart but now I'm not so deep. Now You're in the morning, you're late in the. Evening Now I am.
So that was, and get this, do you know who did that cover of Hush? No. Me neither. Nobody will, I suppose, because it's Kula Shaker. What?
How do you put that awesome song together and not do something else or come up with a better band name? Or maybe that's your personal name. I don't know. But I was just like, you would think more would come from them. You would think.
But that was an interesting one because it's like a cover several times over. It's always awesome. It was written by Joe South for a song by Billy Joe Royal. And it was like in 1967, I think he wrote that one. And it hit number 52 on the Billboard charts, but wasn't setting the world on fire.
And then the next year, 68, Deep Purple comes along. Fucking A. And their version of it actually goes to number four on Billboard. So to me, it's like it's already a cover of a cover by the time we know what it is, because the version most people would ever even recognize it is because of Deep Purple. But it's funny that even that was a cover.
So it's a cover several times over. But Kula Shaker. Yep. Who knows? Shadow knows.

The last time at the drive-in, we were talking about trying new Halloween-themed items. I, as of, like, a day ago, got the pumpkin spice Oreos. How were they? Holy shit, they are good. Like, and I'm usually not so on board for the, like, vanilla-y type Oreos.
Like, to me, if it's not going to be chocolate, it usually doesn't work right. This is the one time it, like, makes a big difference, and it kind of works. Did you ever try the caramel apple ones? No. Well, those worked.
Because I ate that shit. That's right. See, that's why I bought those because I wanted the pumpkin spice ones and they are awesome. So, Nabisco, you know, if you want us to plug them for you, I'm sure we'll be thrilled to. Just don't get the birthday cake ones because they're ass nasty.
Good to know. They're disgusting. That's the only pack of Oreos that I've ever in my entire life bought that got tossed away. That is pretty bad. I think I ate like two.
And I'm like, I can't do this. I just can't. It was a travesty. oreos in the garbage it's. A rough time people all right so i thought with this um this one isn't necessarily specifically yours i know you've got one you're gonna need to talk about but this one i know you love the movie so i thought we'll throw it out there what is it we've definitely worked in the soundtrack somewhere in the past but i thought we need to get in some lost boys hell yeah we do and again if ever there's a great cover to open up that movie and give you just the perfect idea of What you're dealing with in this little town and the weird characters. People are strange.
Whether you like The Doors or not, that version by Echo and the Bunnymen is pretty awesome. People are strange when you're a stranger. Faces look ugly when you're alone. Women seem wicked when you're unwanted. Streets are under when you're down When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name when you're strange, when you're strange, when you're strange.
People are strange when you're a stranger. Faces look ugly when you're alone. Women seem wicked when you're unwanted. The streets are uneven. When you're down here.
When you're strange, faces come out of the rain. When you're strange, no one remembers your name. When you're strange. When you're strange, you're strange. Yeah.
Thank you. Thank you. When you're down, when you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name When you're. Strange The doors are overrated. I said it.
I don't even care. I've heard a lot of that. It's one of those I got. I came on board like at that right time when I was a dorky kid and I was just like, dude, Jim Bortles, it's cool. And like, I guess every teenager must fall for that at some point.
But I've heard so many people lately kind of talk smack about him. And now like I'll listen to some of those other non-hits. And be like, all right, I can see. There's some weak ones on those B-side tracks. I'm just like, what are they doing.
On those ones? When I was in high school, I had a bunch of The Doors records. So I listened to them over and over, more than I probably should have. So yeah, I'm like, hmm. A couple of their big hits, I can kind of like, okay, this isn't horrible.
And you listen to all of it, and you're like, oh, sweet baby Jesus, the lizard ramblings is just too much for me. I kind of like the ramblings, actually. I have that live album they did where it's just him on stage doing some sort of fucking crazy-ass Jim Morrison poetry. I kind of like him as a crazy person. I think he was convincing as that.
It wasn't putting on an act. He really was a crazy person. He was nutters. This force, this thing that lived inside of him came from a source too violent, too deadly for you to imagine it grew inside him, contaminating his soul. But yeah, I figured you'd be up for some Lost Boy love.
Hell yeah. At least the original movie. Hell yeah. I don't even want to acknowledge that the other ones exist, because to me they don't, because they sucked ass. I think I successfully watched the second one, maybe?
The Thirst? I think so. That's the one that had Tom Savini die horribly in the first five minutes. I don't know. I haven't seen any of them.
The only really. The only. Take I have on them is yours and Jay's because you've talked about them. I don't even think Jay got through. I think Jay quit.
After like five minutes, he was like, fuck this mess and left the room. I don't blame him because it was horrible. Oh, man. Speaking of Jay, let's play one from one of his favorite movies. This is one I think I forgot it was even a cover because I've listened to this soundtrack nonstop.
I've played something off of it in the past, but not this one. Dead Souls from the Crow soundtrack. is actually a cover of Joy Division, which I'm sure Jay do because he's hardcore Joy Division, if I remember. But yeah, I don't think I listen to much Joy Division. So this is the Nine Inch Nails version. Thank you.
Someone take these dreams away That put me to a birthday A jewel of personality That's strange or true reality. Where figures from the past stand tall. And mocking voices. Ring the bell. Imperialistic house of fear Conquisted doors who took.
Their share. And that one's one that, like, to me, people will... I mean, you watch it, it's sort of an action movie at times. It's sort of a thriller or a weird urban thriller. I don't know what you want to call it.
But, like, at its heart is definitely a gothic horror movie. So, yeah. There's another one we're going. To skate by here on genre. Now, this one, again, goes sort of down the scream road on the song itself, but not the movie.
The movie is Spun. Are you familiar with Spun? I am completely unfamiliar with Spun. Okay, we're going to be cheating, but that's because I run the show. I can do whatever the hell I want.
So, I mean, really, I don't know if you would call it horror. But in a way, I'm like, yeah, if you consider Requiem for a Dream, that kind of horror. It's certainly, it's a comedy more or less, but it's such a drug comedy that there's so many horrible things going on related to drugs and a bunch of druggies that, like, it definitely has some horrific elements in it. But I thought the song itself sort of put it over the edge to go ahead and throw it in the mix here. Because in the middle of this comedy about druggies, they play Number of the Beast, originally by Iron Maiden, but.
It's a swan cover. Which, if you remember, that's the Billy Corrigan side project that came about midway there that now everybody's totally forgotten about. For good reason. Again, I like Billy Corrigan as a musician. As a person, I might have different feelings.
I don't know. I've heard some weird stories about him. But he puts together some good songs on occasion. But this is definitely a different take on Number of the Beast. I left alone My mind was blank I needed time to think To.
Get the memories from my mind What did I see? That what I saw. That night was. Really not just fancy. Just what I saw in my own dreams were the reflections of my woman staring back at me.
Cause in my dreams It's always there The evil face that twists my mind And brings. Me to despair. Six, six, six The number of the beast. In hell and fire. The spawn to be released.
The torch is blazed. The sacred chants were praised. And as they start to cry, their hands held to the sky. In the night, fires burning bright. The ritual has begun.
Satan's work is done. Six, six, six. This sacrifice is going on tonight. I'm coming back. I will return.
And I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn. I have the fire. I have the force. Take its course. You look ravishing.
It truly is beauty and the beast. I might add a handsome beast at that. Here's another one I thought you might like. Are you not a fan of Lady in White? I fucking love that movie.
I can't get Boyfriend to watch it with me, though. I think I'm afraid that he thinks it's going to be a total kid movie. I'm like, dude, it's got dead kids in it. Creepy. I know, right?
Well, in that, they play Did You Ever Say Dream Walking? By Bing Crosby. Which you would think, being that old, that would be the original version. But it's actually not. It's a cover that he did that was originally done by Art Jarrett.
God, I love that movie. I want to watch that movie tonight. I love that movie. I figured you'd be on board for that one. It's one of the ones that I watched over and over.
There's probably like five movies that I watched over and over and over again as a kid. Lady in White, Watcher in the Woods, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mr. Boogity. And the bride of Mr. Boogity.
This pieces together why you are the way you are. I watch those movies. And notice four out of five are horror movies, more or less. I don't know. There's some shit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
That can be pretty fucking scary. Oh, it's horrifying. You know, when they're fucking squishing the judge at the end. Doom is pretty scary. Hold on.
Here comes Sam. Let's see if I can get a picture with Sam. Hold on. All right. Go for it.
This is PJ Souls, and you are totally listening to Movie Meltdown. I just got my picture taken with Sam. Super excited. This is Sam from Trick or Treat, by the way. It's my third different Sam that I have a picture with.
There's no Andy, but whatever. Andy was super adorable. But no, Doom is a scary dude. You can't mess with him. Those scenes are horrifying.
I'm still kind of traumatized by the testing out. The dip scene. With the shoe? That still. I remember as a kid watching that just being like, oh my God.
I'm like, that's traumatizing. It is. It is fucking terrifying. Because it's just like in this movie where all the cartoons are sentient beings. And it's like, this poor little shoe is dying a horrible death.
And we're watching it. It's a little disturbing. But yes, I'm telling you, Lady in White, one of my favorites. Watched it over and over again. Well, I have to now stop and try to convince myself of which one is which.
So Lady in White, Woman in Black. I think I've got them right. All right. Lady in White is the one that has Lucas Haas on it. Lucas Haas, not Harry Potter.
No, not Harry Potter. Sorry, Daniel. But it's, yeah, it's where he gets locked in a closet, the school closet or whatever, and he sees the ghost of the little girl, and it's kind of fucking creepy, you know? That it is. I love that damn movie.
Something very strange and mystic happened to me Something realistic and as weird as can be. Something that I feared somehow is now endeared to me. What a funny feeling, odd and yet so true. Did a thing like this ever happen to you? Did you ever see a dream walking?
Well, I did. Did you ever hear a dream talking? Well, I did. Did you ever have a dream thrill you with will you be mine? Oh, it's so grand, and it's true, true divine.
Did you ever see a dream dancing? Well, I did. Did you ever see a dream romancing? Well, I did. Did you ever see heaven right in your heart saying, I love you, I do?
Well, the dream that was walking and the dream that was talking © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Did you ever see a dream walking? Well, I did. Did you ever hear a dream talking? Well, I did. Did you ever have a dream that thrilled you with, will you be mine?
Oh, it's so grand and it's too, too divine. Did you ever see a dream dancing? Well, I did. Did you ever see a dream romancing? Well, I did.
Did you ever see heaven right in your eyes? Saying I love you, I do. Well, the dream that was walking and the dream that was talking and the heaven in my arms was you. Bing Crosby sort of has his own horror stories in his personal life. I'm sure he does.
Anyway, as a caring father that he was. Watcher in the Woods has Betty Davis with her crazy old lady eyes. I love that damn movie. She's got crazy old lady Betty Davis eyes, but we're not going to work that song in. It's a shame there's no cover songs in that one because I would love to talk about that movie.
I made my boyfriend watch that one and he surprisingly enough liked it. I'm sure we can come back around to it. It's not like we shy away from horror movies. It's my favorites. What else?
Well, we were. Talking earlier about our friend Rob Zombie. We were discussing the Halloween remakes, and we were just kind of sitting here watching Michael Myers people across the way here and just reminiscing on whether or not I think we all have issues with some of the stuff going on in those remakes, but they have. Their good points too. But in trying to come up with a few that I hadn't thought of, this one came up, which I think I'd totally forgotten about.
And probably because. I've never gone back to touch that movie, as much as I love The Crow... The Crow 2 is the scourge of humanity. Dude, fuck Vincent Perez. Yeah, City of Angels I have not gone back to touch since the first time I saw it and was horrified in the wrong.
Kind of way. It had Iggy Pop in it, didn't it? Yes, yeah, I believe it did. I don't know what he was thinking either. I forget who else it had in it.
I fucking hated that movie. But it does have a Rob Zombie song in the soundtrack doing a version of I'm Your Boogeyman originally done by Casey and the Sunshine Band. Oh! You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you.
You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you. You're gonna get you.
You're gonna get you. I'm the Boogie Man, Boogie. Man, I'm what I want. I'm the Boogie Man, oh, that's what I am. I'm here to do, oh, whatever I can.
Be it early morning, late afternoon, or at midnight. I always never do too, too much, too much, too much. I don't know. I do love that song. I think I have the, you know, I saw it on one of my CDs.
It's not connected to that movie at all. So it's on like a separate Rob Zombie CD. I thought that was an odd mixture of everything there. But yet perfect for Rob Zombie, I think. Yeah, exactly.
Again, kind of that same thing. They're taking something already pre-established as this thing over here. and then finding a way to sort of redefine it and make it work in the. Movie that they're doing. Again, there's sort of a theme that runs through these, and I don't know. I thought it was interesting.

Doo-Wop Shop. We're serious about music. So this one is a more recent one. And it's one that totally connected with me. First of all, it's in a movie that I didn't think I was going to like.
I certainly did not think they even needed to touch Fright Night originally when they started talking about it. I was surprised how much I didn't hate the remake. It's a different thing. It doesn't come near the original, but it's an entertaining new version of sort of a similar story. I wasn't big on it.
I don't like Colin Farrell. I'm not like, apparently I'm more like the eight girls in the entire universe who are not completely gaga over fucking Colin Farrell. But I feel like that version of Jerry Dandridge is supposed to be a dick, so Colin Farrell is kind of perfect casting because he seems like a dick. In the real world. I do adore what's-his-face, though.
The main guy. Jackoff? Yes. The Wessel. Drive a steak through their heart with a Wessel.
It was funny because we went to Red Robin the other day and I told them our last name was Wesley and they said, Wessel? No Wessels! Do you have any dilithium crystals here? No. Need to get this Wessel up and running.
But yeah, anyways, I was not a big fan of the remake. Okay with it i think there's a lot of really cool stuff on there some of the cg and i think that wasn't their fault they sort of threw that in when it became that 3d nonsense as well so some of those effects are not the best but again i don't blame the story or the actors that. Was imogene poots in that one i like saying. Imogene poots imogene poots has come around let me tell you imogene poots. I just like saying her name poots.
Special we're very special. But one of the things I really didn't see coming was the song that kicks in at the end. And I do like, again, it has a very comic book-y feel as they get to the end credits because they'll do this splatter effect on the screen. They'll do these weird cut moving images taken straight out of the movie. But it almost has a weird comic book feel.
But it's also paired up with, of all songs, 99 Problems, but not by Jay-Z. It is done by Hugo. If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for your son. I got 99 problems. And a bitch ain't one.
Tip my hat to the sun in the west Feel the. Beat right in my chest At. The crossroads a second time Make the devil change his mind It's a pound of flesh, but it's really a ton 99 problems and a bitch ain't one. If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for your son I got 99 problems and a bitch ain't one. 99 Problems Like broken glass under my.
Feet I could lose my mind in the sea. Looking for the prize but I don't want blood. I don't want drinks and I drink the flood. You can come inside but your friends can't come. 99 problems and a bitch ain't one.
If you're having girl problems I feel bad for your son. 99 problems and a bitch ain't one. I got 99 problems. I'm a big fan of that song. I posted it on Facebook years ago.
I'm smitten with that version i. Love that and who would ever thought you'd pair up jay-z with like banjo and like come out with something that would kick ass but like that song really kind of does. And it's a it finds its own style of. Doing does it really count because only like only like the chorus is the same i don't think the rest of the lyrics are the same. As much as i remember it i don't know if it goes into the full raps on the side but i think the basic structure of it's the.
Same I don't remember. I've listened to the Hugo version so much. I know. It's been so long since I've actually heard the Jay-Z version now. I would always see, since it's gone on to be on cable now, for the while when I had cable, it would come on and I would catch it at the last 15 minutes and I'd leave it on because I knew that song was coming on.
That's the sign of a good song. I would finish watching out this movie, where normally I would just change it if it was almost over, but I would leave it on specifically because to hear the song come on in credits. That says something about the song. That song is rowdy. I like the Jay-Z version, too, though.
I think I'll... It's a good song. That's the thing. I mean, you give Jay-Z credit. For a cracker, I'm all about some Jay-Z.
Yeah, I know. Not that nobody heaps some praise on Jay-Z as rap goes, but he is pretty impressive, and he has found a good way to sort of mesh traditional hip-hop sound with the guitars that he works in, that original one, are also very unconventional for him. That style of music. Because the original version, it was mixed together by Rick Rubin. Yeah, I believe so.
Who does some amazing shit. Who does a lot of weird crossover stuff. That's sort of his thing, too. He likes mixing genres of music. Because he did an Eminem song not that long ago that I thought was fucking amazing.
Usually I'm kind of iffy on Eminem. He's always been hit and miss. I forget which song it was that he did with Rick Rubin, but I was like, fucking hell. Rick Rubin kind of knows what he's doing, too. All right, so I've been building up to this one, Misty, because I figured if I was bringing you in on this episode, I mean, number one, you like covers anyway, but on top of that, there was one in particular you were going to have to talk about.
Okay, you want to let me peek at the list? No, it's not for you. You know which one it is. I mean, if there's one band and they do a cover at the end of a horror movie. Is it the one from Energy of the Vampire?
Yes. Guns N' Roses and Symphony for the Devil? I love that song. It's the best part of the whole damn movie. It kind of is.
I need to revisit. It's been a long time since I saw it. I was kind of hitting this on it at the time. Anyway, I have heard some interesting things since then, though. I was listening to a.
Show and they were talking with this woman who had just written a book on Tom Cruise. And they were talking, like she was going on about how good he is in the movie. Again, I feel like I need to re-watch it because she was talking about how much Brad's phoning it in. Like Brad, like didn't really even read the book. Like, he got it.
He's like, oh, I'm supposed to be this guy, whatever. And, like, he didn't even finish reading the book. He's like, I know what I'm going to do. Whereas Tom Cruise not only went home and, like, you know, took the role, immediately read that book, but read all of the other Anne Rice novels at the time so that he understood what Lestat's role was. Now it's like I kind of want to go back and watch it knowing that like he realizes he's not the villain.
Like and they try to within that story, they try to make him like he's the bad guy. But like if you read the rest of it, that's not really the case. He's just a character and he's really not a bad guy as you go into the other stories about him. This is just the place that he's in and he deals with being a vampire very differently. Than certainly the whiny Brad Pitt character.
So, yeah, I don't know. I kind of want to go back and rewatch it because I feel like you need to watch it again. It's been a long time, and I knew I had issues with it even the first time I saw it. But I kind of want to watch it and see what Tom Cruise is doing. Because he doesn't half-ass stuff, you know?
It's like, whether you love him or hate him, he goes all in. When he takes these roles. And I kind of need to look at his performance again. I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise. As anybody who would actually listen to the show regularly would know, I just can't stand him.
But I do remember... Not hating him in an interview with a vampire. I know when they first announced it, like, years ago, everybody was fired the fuck up. People lost their shit. They, like, Heath Ledger, as the Joker level, lost their shit.
Yeah, really. Which they were way off on that one, too. But it's like, I mean, I remember liking it. It's been at least ten years since I've sat and watched it, you know. It has been fucking forever.
But if nothing else, that's the best thing to go out. Again, that's how you know, like, they wrap up the movie with that. That's... Work in a little river there and then kick the credits on them. I'm all for any Guns N' Roses covers.
I don't even... I'm still... Live and Let Die. You know, I still... Fuck Wings.
Dude, fuck Wings. Time went on to do that anyways. Yeah, seriously. Knocking on Heaven's Door. Fuck Bob Dylan.
I said it. Screw you guys. I fucking hate Bob Dylan. What the fuck? Fucking sing.
Enunciate. Come on. Like Axl. Hey, I can understand what he's saying a good portion of the time. And one of the.
Voices that he uses. He does have a few different levels of his voices. He does. There's like a multitude of Axl Rose's voices, and I love them all. There probably are voices in his head as well.
Yeah. Sometimes I should stay in there. Some things even Axl can't do. He should never rap. My world.
I blocked it out. It was awful. He did a lot of weird crap. around that era. They did a whole album of cover songs. It wasn't bad.
Everybody gave the Spaghetti Incident a whole bunch of shit. It was kind of past. I've described it before. That was the shark. I was like, Use Your Illusion is the shark.
It's the most epic and everything from there is a downhill. You already see them going downhill on half of the albums anyway. That's the moment. Everything past that point is just them trying to figure out what to do to survive and not kill each other. I've always said if you combine both the user illusion albums you'll get at least one good album out of it it's one.
Really good album but you have to weed through that other crap. Yeah you gotta get you gotta weed through my world the ego crap a good portion of get in the ring yup I like the first part of it shit he's all mad. Shit I mean, I like that song anyway. Like, that song in its original form is badass. Yeah, I'm not a big Rolling Stone fan.
But that's one of the best ones. It is. There's like three Rolling Stone songs that I'm like, okay, I can understand why you all blast this fucking long. If nothing else, for those fucking three songs. Because they're badass when they need to be badass.
Sympathy for the Devil. All right, go ahead. Paint it black. That is one of my favorites of theirs. What's the other one I like?
What's another awesome song? Wild Horses. No. Angie? No.
Maybe it's Beast of Burden. I like that song. Pizza burning. That's not New Europe. It's not, but it's...
It's no Paint of Black. Paint of Black is one of the best things ever. Right up there with Sympathy for the Devil. I mean, I can just narrow it out to just two songs. I'll just leave it at the two songs and be done.
Nice. All right, so with all that, we will actually go out with your big number, Misty. What's the name of it? Sympathy for the Devil. By your favorite-est band.
Guns N' Roses. Tried to beat the Crypt Keeper. All right, so let's fire up the axle and we'll get the hell out of here. With that, I will remind you, Get Alive will provide the soundtrack. Thanks for listening.

Royale with Cheese. My boyfriend loves that show and I will not watch it with him. Because it's the end of the world and he's preparing. I know, and I get all nervous and shit. Because he's going to shoot somebody.
