Hey, this is Jonah Ray from Comedy Central's The Meltdown with Jonah Kumail, and you're listening to another meltdown, a movie meltdown. The following feature has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised. It's showtime, folks. Enjoy the show.

Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power. What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian. I'm Misty. And I'm Jay.

And we're coming to you live via digital recording from the. Bastion of awesomeness. It's super messy right The hell you say. I know, right? If it's like that every time, it can't be messy this time.

There's an extra stack of books here and there. That's just accumulating. That's different. That's adding to your collection. Bastion of not putting shit away.

Hey, I live there, too. Mine is just shifting things. I need to be in here. You can't give me too much shit about it. By the couch, there is a box of break discs in a box, so I don't want to hear it.

I know. I'm not giving you shit about it. I'm just saying. Okay, like for the car. I was really hoping he was just accumulating all the break-in movies on disc.

No, no, no. That's like functional. I got a break-up grade for my car that I bought a couple months ago that I haven't put on my car because that requires me to do more work after I get off work. Fuck that mess. I just assumed we were going to have to watch break-in 2 and Beat Street.

So we could then figure out what was the superior film. Maybe throw some crush groove in there, you know. Yeah, you done lost me. So, how's it going? It's going.

Pretty exciting, I know. Yeah, yeah. We're getting back into like normal things-ish. So, just kind of getting slowly closer to normal life, sort of. My life hasn't changed.

Yeah, I know. I've said that many a time. Everybody else's life. Everybody's like, well, the new normal. I was like, I'm still living the same old normal.

Aside from the masks, everything's... We never left work. We still go places. It's been my thing, too. Everything's been kind of the same.

And I've realized I don't... The only places that I go now are the same places I went. Before, really. Just less conventions. Yeah, just that kind of stuff.

But everything. Week to week, like, oh, I gotta go buy some groceries. Oh, I gotta go stock up on Legos or whatever dumb thing I'm buying that week. Yeah, it's like... Mine's books.

I still go. I still go get the same crap that I need to get. I just put a dumb mask on. Yeah. No matter what your stance is on masks, which I really don't care, but I tell you one thing... they do help me avoid people that I'm trying to avoid because they don't know who I am.

I think that all the time. Actually, I start to notice somebody and go, do I know them? And then I'm like, Oh, I don't really have to worry about it. Cause odds are they don't recognize me either. So yeah, just going to keep walking.

So yeah, the people that I try to avoid, it's a lot easier to avoid them. I have been looking for a time when I could put on like a bandana and Be like a cowboy. I've seen people like that. There was a guy driving around yesterday that had a little cowboy bandana. There was one standing at the crosswalk.

He went and got himself a drink at the grocery, or no, the little gas station store. And he came and stood out there with his big bandana on. I was just like, we are kind of in the old west at this point. We're just wearing bandanas and people doing whatever the hell they want and staying away from each other. I tell you one thing, though.

I am going to miss the social distancing. Because people are starting to get a little bit too comfortable. A little bit doesn't go away. No. See, I've gone this entire year without having to snap too much at anybody.

Because you haven't been around people. I mean, I've been around people, but they've pretty much been, like, following the rules. At least, you know, staying at least somewhat. Don't be right up on me. I went to the bookstore.

Shocking. I know. I am shocked. I know, right? And I'm looking at a shelf.

And this bitch came to stand. directly behind me because she wanted to look at the exact same fucking shelf I want to look at. There's a sign. There's a sign on every one of the half-price bookstores that. Says one person per alcove. Yeah, each little alley there.

It says one person. One person. And most of the time I'm standing there going, oh wait, is there somebody here? Because I only notice when I'm already there. And obviously everybody has that problem.

I'm standing there and I'm looking and she comes and she's literally breathing down my neck. And of course I give her the aggravated deep sigh, turn around and look at her. And she says, no. Oh, no, you're okay. Well, then, it's a good thing you didn't get in her way.

Oh, no, you're okay. And I'm like, no, I'm not, because there's not supposed to be one person in this aisle at a time. She's like, oh, well, excuse me. And I'm like, bitch, can you not fucking read? Why are you looking at books if you can't read the sign that says to not be here?

Don't look at these books at the same time. I go to those bookstores all the time, and I don't know how to read. I try to look at the arrows at least. She wasn't even looking at the book that just had photos. This was like the antique book section.

Old words. Because I was trying to figure out how many books there are in the Dark Shadows series if I wanted to bother. Going down that road. Well, because they had 27 of them for $ 50. And I'm like, usually when I see them, they're over $ 10 a piece, but there's 27 for $ 50.

And I had a 10% off coupon. Oh, Lord. I know, right? So I'm sitting there. I hadn't been in the aisle maybe a minute and a half.

Because I waited my turn. Like you're supposed to. Exactly. Lady. Exactly.

People are getting comfortable again. Social distance. Still. Forever. The only time I forget, because normally I'm not around people.

It's the cutting through thing that I don't even think about. It's the same thing I've been doing my whole life of like, oh, I don't really want to be around this person. I'm going to try to get past them as quick as possible. But in that moment, I'm like, oh, I'm about six inches away from this person. I'm like, that's not at all social distance.

But I said, pardon me, bye. Gone. Did you say, oh. Sorry. And by then, I'm gone.

So it's not for long, but for like a split second, I'm six inches away from you. And dump. You just scooch. I made a duck. What do you want?

I realized. You gotta make the oop sound. Oop! Oop! Don't!

You gotta homer it, and then you'd be like, ah, it's fine. He homered it. He understands. Let me just scooch right past you. I hate that.

Or they do that. Or they just. They low crawl. They duck. Like there's something that they're going underneath.

There's nothing they're going underneath. And it usually moves things down a couple inches. And you're like, you didn't really change any. Yeah. I guess it shows you're making an effort, though.

That's really all you can ask for. But changing your elevation doesn't do anything. You're still in my way. Speed walk. But I'm showing you I'm aware that I'm in your way, and I'm trying.

To get the hell out of your way. But the ope covered it. The ope. And the announcement of the fact that you were going to scooch right past me. I didn't necessarily say that because I don't normally use that phrase.

Because you hear two different, I hear scoot and I hear scooch. So I'm not sure which one it is. Is it a regional thing? I think it is. I'll put that in the category.

Some people are like, let me just squeeze right past you. I worked with somebody and this became, and now I occasionally use that word like normal and I go like, Because it used to bug the hell out of me that she would shimmy right past you. And I'd be like, no, don't do that. No, no, please don't. So now when I see something that I should actually use that word for the right purpose.

I go, oh. So try not to shimmy past anybody if you can. Unless, of course, you're doing something very spectacular and wearing something with spadangles on you. I usually just go, excuse me, and I go right past them. So where was I?

Oh, it was today. I was at Meijer getting some stuff. These people were standing like four deep in the aisle. You know? If you're going to look at something, just.

Were they Hands Across America? Oh my god, almost! Shit. Kids, Google that. I was a part of Hands Across America.

Thank you very much. I found your shirt. You have proof. I found my shirt. I have proof.

You are a piece of history! You put it on? I put it on. Yes! I bet it fit just fine.

I took a picture. There were pictures online. How did you miss that? Maybe my brain was secretly trying to protect me. It saw it and went, don't look, don't look, don't look.

These days, boyfriend, in a shirt from when you were, what, nine? Yeah. I was going to say, that's a long time ago. Yeah, it was a long time ago. Hey, I fit in it, though.

Barely. Did it explode when you were done? No. You were like, did you Hulk your way out of it? Well, I had a shirt that said, hey, it's across America.

Don't anymore. This is my mom. Would she have that? Did she have it? Out.

She was going to give it to me. She's like, oh, I found one of your old shirts. I was like, hell yeah. It's a hand puppet. Fucking hands across America.

I forgot about that. Yeah. Did I show you the thing for that? The commercial, the promos they used to run. The promos that they ran.

I remember those. Yeah. What year was this again? I vaguely remember. I don't know.

Maybe 82. It says on my shirt. Oh. You're not wearing it right now? I'm not wearing it right now.

Yeah. You have to look it up. It's not that important. I'll look it up just so people at home don't have to. Yeah.

I just remember at the time being scared of heights and we were standing on a bridge and And whoever designed this bridge was a fucking sadist. Actually, much later. 86? May 25th, 1986. Okay, so maybe I was wrong.

There you go. There's your public service announcement, kids. No, I was older than that. I was 6 in 86. Maybe I was 14.

So you could totally wear that shirt now. You were 13. 13. Yeah, I was 13. Jesus Christ.

Well, it depends on what time of the year it was. May. May. Yeah, so I was still 13. I had to turn 14 in.

Anyway, saving the country, touching people. You're not supposed to do that at all now. Holding hands. Gross. Not like touching elbows or some shit like that, which brings you even closer to the person if you're touching elbows than if you're shaking hands.

What if you bump feet? You do that. I don't do that either. I don't do any of these things. At least if you do the fist bump, I can at least tolerate that.

When they come in for the elbow bump, I'm like, you're getting within way closer regions. I don't think I've done any of these things in the last year plus. Me neither. Our circles, we still shake hands. I do the same thing I've always done, which is not do any of those things.

Not come in contact. I used to do that if we were meeting. It was semi-professionally. I could shake somebody's hand if need be, but outside of that, I'm like, don't really try to interact with the humans. Well, generally, I don't stick my fingers in my mouth after I shake people's hands, so I don't have to worry about that.

Speak for yourself. Yeah. So, have you watched anything? We actually have. We've started watching two shows simultaneously because I have the attention span of a guppy.

I was going to say, I was just going to confuse you. We started watching. Interweaving the plots. We've got two different crazy plots. We started watching...

I've been collecting... I started collecting the Quantum Leap novels. Oh, Lord. And I don't really remember watching the show. I don't think it was one of my mom's.

I definitely remember watching it in the day. I kind of vaguely remember different... I remember the hymn with the blue light and the wind and all that shit. Oh boy. I was probably reading my Fear Street books and not paying a goddamn bit of attention to what she was doing.

I haven't thought about it until you posted that. And within a second, I started typing, Ziggy says this is us. I was like, why do I remember Ziggy for fuck's sake? Yeah. Like, I haven't seen it since it was on TV.

And I immediately was just Dean Stockwell talking about Ziggy. I was just immediately blown away that the very first scene in the show had the exact same clock that I have right there underneath the squirrel. That was your post, wasn't it? Yes, it was. I was trying to remember what was it.

It was like, oh, yeah, it's that clock right there. It was. And it shouldn't be a surprise that it's underneath a squirrel. Most things in this room are underneath the squirrel. I know.

So we started watching that, but then there's a problem with that. I don't know if it's the app on the. Seems like it. The app on the Roku. It keeps.

It'll start off okay, but then it zooms into a tiny right-hand square. That's weird. Maybe the left-hand square. Either way, you can't watch it. I don't know if it's the Roku having a problem or if it's the NBC app.

Because they're all available on. keeping like the pictures the same size as the tv it's just zooming in on part of the screen or the screen itself goes like postage stamp and there's a bunch of black space no. It's making just like the screen becomes the top right hand. Corner yeah so all you're missing the other three-fourths of the screen but it's still full size. Yeah it's still full size okay it's just either. Way this is weird but i would figure out which.

Version and every time you stop it and restart it It does the same thing. I try to skip to a different episode. It still does the same thing. I don't know if it's the app or if it's the stick. I don't have time to figure it out yet.

Let's write an angry email to Scott Bakula. I feel like he's personally responsible. I don't know. I think Dean Stockwell probably has nothing better to do than to reply. He'd probably be like, I.

Love Dean Stockwell back in the day. I don't know what all he's doing these days. Art. Yeah, I guess. He's doing art.

Well, he was doing art. I don't know if he's still doing art or not. What kind of art? Like watercolors? No.

I can't remember. Because I was following him on... Or I was friends with him on Facebook a long time ago. And.... He's a weird dude.

Tagging. I don't remember. Street art. He's out in the streets. Him and Corin Nemec are hanging out.

Out in an alley somewhere right now. It's pretty pain. Wouldn't doubt it. But then... I've been forcing one of my favorite of all time shows on Boyfriend, and he's been a very good sport about it.

He is in general for most of your shenanigans. I know, right? We've started, like I've already mentioned, one of my favorite shows of all time, the Canadian classic, Big Wolf on Campus. I think you recently asked, should I make him watch these? And I was like, you probably will anyway.

So you have started down that road. We have started, but I went... to a later episode and then work my way back. Because I figure, if you're going to go. It does get a little more polished as they move along. They get a little more budget.

Start with the Corey Haim episode. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Ease your way in there. Go with the Corey Haim episode because that one's great.

Well, let's go to the source here. Jay, how are you doing with the old Big Wolf on campus? It's okay. I remember him being fun. I started out...

She was like, I'm going to watch Big Wolf on campus. I'm like, all right, whatever. I'm just going to sit on my phone and veg out because anymore getting off work I just, you know, don't want to have to deal with life. I get that. She's watching TV and I'm just kind of, you know, looking at my phone.

And I start catching snippets of it and stuff like that. It is pretty funny. I end up laughing at some of it. The short bus. I'm just like, what?

You said something about the short bus. Oh, yeah. I make special kid references. I'm like, they could not get away with that today. Yeah.

So some of that and ripping off. the current movies of the time and stuff like that. It was kind of funny. That became their thing. Yeah. So.

And they are great. That's so quick, too, because you can watch it and be like, you don't have time for it to get too dumb because it's over. Yeah. That's true. I mean, it's like 22 minutes for most sitcoms, so.

And they're editing all the commercials out, so you're just like, boom, all right. Mm-hmm. I can't even get tired of it because it's already the next episode. So, I mean, we've only gotten, like, four or five episodes in. But it is.

I'm watching it and I'm like, am I going to be disappointed? Because I don't think I've actually... I know we watched it when it came on. Yeah, that's the thing. I'm thinking back and I'm like, I don't think I've seen it since it was on TV.

And I might have watched a few episodes here and there since then, but I don't think I've watched it in its entirety since it was on whatever CW? I was going to say, I don't even know a channel. ABC Family? I don't know where. Because it was like the middle of the day.

See, I kind of remember it being on, but I didn't watch it. Like, I remember the... Merton? Merton. See, I remember Merton.

Yeah, I remember him, and I was just like, what is this? And I was like, oh, this is like a weird Saved by the Bell Kids show. I don't need to watch this. So, I didn't watch it. I could see you making that mistake.

Thankfully, it is so much better. Yeah, it's pretty funny. I was afraid it wouldn't hold up, and then watch it, and I'm like, Tommy Dawkins. He has aged so well. Yeah, surprisingly.

Didn't I say he turned up on MacGyver lately? Yeah, I think he did. Even he was surprised. Yeah, I was just barely in it. I was like, hey, where did he go?

He was just there getting attacked by terrorists or something, and now he's gone. I don't know. I don't know what happened to him. Tommy just disappeared back into the night like a werewolf or whatever the hell he is now. He's always posted on Twitter about football.

Like, all the time. He just really likes football. I mean, some people, that's their thing. He loves them Denver Broncos. It's sad that I know that.

Wasn't he a football player in the show? He was the high school quarterback. So there you go. He was not acting. That was just him.

That's just him. Do they have football in Canada? I'm sure they do. I'm surprised he wouldn't play in hockey or something. I was going to say, I don't know how much they play any other sport.

It's just hockey and hockey and hockey. Just hockey and maple syrup. That's all Canada is, right? Moose's mountains. I made that comment once about everybody from Canada smelling like syrup.

Or just Canada in general smelling like syrup. And the guy in front of me in line was like, I'm from Canada. And you're like, mmm, syrup. Where was this? At work trying to leave.

Oh, I see. I mean, for any Canadians out there, we've also on many occasions discussed how much everybody we love is from Canada. So we can't really. Seriously. I thought we were going to discuss about how Misty's pissed off everybody from around the world.

That's true of most places around the world except Canada. Seriously. Everybody he loves from Canada. I know. Tommy Dawkins is from Canada.

Corey Haim. Mark Singer. Who else? Alex Durek. He got kind of weird there at the end.

He wasn't very funny. Don't get me started on my Michael J. Fox. Others. I'm sure there are good things.

They were cranking out some top quotes. Is it Ryan Reynolds? Isn't he Canadian? What about Kirk? Huh?

Fucking Shatner. Oh, okay. I was like, Kirk Douglas? I'm like, what is he? I don't know that he is.

You didn't put captain in front of it, so you didn't fully address him by his name. I mean, sometimes he gets demoted. Sometimes he's an admiral. You never know. I don't know.

See, if you said Captain Kirk, I'd have been right there with you. But we've watched other things. We watched actual movies. We did? Yes, we did.

What did we watch? Motherfucker, you're the one who picked them out. I did? I don't remember. You picked out both of them.

I did? You bought them. Oh, yeah. Fuck yeah, I did. Forgot.

Watch the original Tron. Because I hadn't seen it since I was a fucking kid. And I'd never seen it. I'm kind of in that boat. Like, I remember thinking it was super cool as a kid.

Yeah. But not really following any of it. No. Like, every kid, I'm. Assuming, everywhere.

No. Me, now, as an adult. I feel like I tried to go back and watch it, like, when it first came on DVD and was like, what's going. On in this movie? Exactly.

Exactly. And I was like, ooh, light cycles are cool. Yeah. Ooh, Frisbees. Yeah.

I like these colors. That's where I came. That's it. That's it. I tried to have him explain it to me.

Like, what's going on? What happened? I can probably tell you the same that I knew then. So they're like in the computer. Yeah.

And then things look glowy. Because they're in the computer. And light cycles. And Frisbees. And big flying things.

And Jeff Bridges. Yeah. What? So, yeah. Billy the Kid from Bill and Ted was in there.

Lacey Underall from Caddyshack. I was watching it and I literally had to have him explain it to me. Well, even me sitting back watching it again, I was like, How was this so popular as a kid? Because I don't think I understood any of it. Lights and colors.

Exactly. That's all it was. Well, I mean, it's still to this day. Like, think of how different that looked than everything else that was going on. It looked awesome.

Well, and just different. Like, it's just so damn different that I'm like, I think everybody was just dazzled by that. And they were just like, I didn't plot whatever for you. Literally. I had to pause it a couple times and be like, What?

Well, they do throw you right in the middle of it, thinking that you already know everything about computers. I just remember David Warner. Man, he's awesome in everything. Even in that, that I don't know what the hell's going on. He's super creepy.

I look at him, I'm like, who the fuck is David Warner? I knew I knew him. The Twin Peaks. Yeah, but he was also in Wallander. More importantly, Time Bandits.

Come on now. That's been a long time since I've seen Time Bandits. We got that. We didn't finish talking about Tron, did we? Oh, we haven't finished?

Okay, what else about Tron? Please explain the plot to me, thank you. It's how the end, where it's just like, da-da-da-da, he's the boss now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're setting it up for a sequel several decades later.

I haven't seen the newer movie. I haven't either. But I'm wondering, because every movie nowadays has to over-explain everything. If they made that movie now, we would know exactly what happened. Yeah.

Well, they had the. I should have got the one that had the sequel, because they had. I don't know why you didn't get it. They had Tron and Tron Legacy. Because I didn't want to see Tron Legacy.

But it was the same fucking price for one or both. All I wanted was one. I didn't want both of them. I wanted the original. They were the same price.

I kind of get that now, because there was something. Lately that I was like, I could have gotten three movies for the same price as the one that I wanted. I'm like, I don't want those. Three on my shelf. Exactly.

Exactly. Even though I want to go back and watch those other two. Legacy actually might be an okay movie, but I don't care. But it'll be on my shelf, so it doesn't matter. That's true.

You've taken over all shelves. In the world. Are we done talking about Tron? I guess we can move on. I have no idea what it was.

1986. The year. 1986. Alright. My buddy's birthday party.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese. Alright. Me, him, and My other friend and his sister. All of us.

We all used to hang around him. We were kids. Went to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday. Fucking awesome.

First time we had ever been to Chuck E. Cheese. I don't even know if Chuck E. Cheese was still pretty new, I think, at the time. Did we talk about this one?

To get to go play video games. Fucking awesome. But I can't remember if we went to the movie first and then went to Chuck E. Cheese or went to Chuck E. Cheese and then went to the movie.

Either way, This is one of the times when I stole $ 20 worth of quarters out of my dad's quarter collection, which fuck him. He can burn in hell for all I care. But still, I'm glad I stole this fucking money. You needed it. And I needed it for video games.

Important things like games. Yeah. And I'm pretty sure Tron was one of the games that was there. You might get sucked into Tron. You need those quarters.

And. Fuck, what was that dragon game? Dragonlance? Dragon's Lair? Dragon's Lair.

Dragon's Lair was in there. Again, awesome in my mind. When I think back, I'm like, man, I couldn't play more than about 10 seconds and die. No, you died, and the controls didn't make any sense, and all you did was just pump quarters in it and die and go, what the fuck? And that was the first of many times I was like, can I just watch this cartoon and not have to keep giving you quarters to watch the same thing as I fall down or get.

Fire burned or whatever the hell happened to me? I don't remember. So anyways, the movie. I haven't seen this movie since 1986. And one of my coworkers, he's like 22 that I was training.

He was talking to me about it. And I was like, dude, I haven't seen that movie. I saw that movie in the theater. Transformers, the fucking movie. God, I love that movie.

I'd forgotten about it. I like how you had to emphasize that by picking your glass, your empty glass. And slamming it down. Yeah. I forgot how much I loved that movie.

The funnier thing is, I think we talked about this last time. Did we? We hadn't watched it then. Did we have the last time? I thought we did.

No. Because we talked about Everybody Die. I remember. I think we talked about the movie, but we hadn't watched it. Maybe you hadn't watched it.

Maybe we were just anticipating. I think you had watched parts of. It on YouTube or something. Yeah, see, I watched it on YouTube, and they cut out a bunch of shit out of it. And I was like, man, this sucks, because I don't know what's going on.

So it's like watching Tron. Yeah, and they cut a bunch of shit out of it, because I don't remember. I mean, there should have been more stuff, and then I went and got it. Because I told my girlfriend, I was like, you're going to watch this. We're going to watch it.

I'd never seen it. It's going to change your life. She was like, did they just kill off some of the main characters? I was like, fuck yeah, they did. Imagine being a kid and watching your favorite characters die.

In a cartoon. Did they bring them back? And you're like, no. This was it. They literally never had any more Optimus Prime in the cartoons after this?

I don't remember. I feel like they worked around the Optimus Prime. I feel like some of those other ones, we never saw them again. Yeah, they had other toys. So, you know.

I mean, they were pushing the whole new Rodimus Prime and all that other. The whatimus prime? Rodimus. That's what. Did you not watch the movie?

Yes. That's what Hot Rod turned into. He turned into Rodimus Prime. I don't remember him being called Rodimus. Well, yeah.

That is kind of a terrible name. It is. As cool as Optimus Prime is, Rodimus just is. But yeah, it was just funny because this kid I work with was talking about it. And it made me think.

I was like, fuck yeah, dude. I saw that movie in the theater. And then he was probably thinking, dude, you're so old. It's kind of a given. I assume that at all times when I talk to people now.

Then I was like, I will beat your ass. Because you thought he was talking about the fucking movie. I thought he was talking about Transformers, the movie. I was like, what? No, I ain't seen that.

And he goes, no, no, the old cartoon from 86. And I was like, dude, I saw that in the theater. Except I liked Bumblebee because it's not directed by him. And it has an actual storyline. And the scenes aren't set up stupid so you can't tell what the hell's going on.

It actually functions like a real movie. Well, I haven't seen any of them. I saw the first one. Yeah, I saw the first one. I saw the Megan Fox bending over the car one.

I saw... I saw... One more reason to like Bumblebee. Haley Steinfeld? Super cool.

So, I saw the second one. They were running it on, like, TBS or something. And I'd heard so many terrible things about it. And then I was like, they're just kind of overselling. It's not really that bad, right?

Holy shit. Like, this was like a half hour of it I watched. And I was just like, oh, my God. This is beyond horrible. Like, it's offensive on so many levels.

Like, acting or what? Just dumb. And then. The new characters they make are so insulting to your brain. Like, it's just, it's like angering.

And it takes a lot. I'm pretty, like, I don't. give a shit about them. I'm like, good, bad, whatever. I get what I want out of most movies for the hell of it. But sometimes they're so dumb, so bad, that I'm just like.

What are you doing? This is annoying now. Wow. That was Transformers 2. And I don't think I've gone back for any since then, until we got the Bumblebee.

And I was like, oh, thank God he didn't direct this one. I can watch it. Now that you went back and watched all of Transformers, was it all that you hoped it would be? Yeah. I had questions during that one too.

Yeah. I can see that. That was like, how do they make new robots? Do they actually make. With ratchets?

Shit! Because I'm like. That's the X-rated. I'm like. They did introduce a girl car later, so.

There was a girl car in this one, wasn't there? Yeah, there was. Wasn't that the movie, though? I thought on the show they didn't. I thought that was one of the big, look what we've got in the movie!

It's a girl! It's a girl car! But I mean, do they actually like Make them full grown? Yeah, I guess they just build them. I don't know.

Jeez, you're asking questions. It's a cartoon. I had more questions, too. I had to keep asking you. You were probably like, oh, my God, girlfriend, stop.

Stop with your logic. It has no place in my cartoon shows. Transformer. Mother beats the eye Transformers The Movie Transformers. Coming to a theater near you this August.

The ritual has begun Satan's work is done 666 The number. Of the beast Sacrifice. Is going on tonight. So, guess what happened the other day? What?

I have no idea. I went into a store. I know it's hard to go out into the world, but I actually went into a place, and I brought my goods up to the register, and they went to ring me. Up, and damned if it didn't say 666. Ooh.

Fantastic. And the woman behind the counter went, oh, God. Like, she kind of responded, and I was like, nah, that seems about right. It's fine. So it's obvious that we're in tune with the dark forces of the universe.

Clearly. And, you know, one of those things is probably because we're always rolling 20-sided die. We can't stop. So, you know, as you may or may not know, each time we roll the die. we open up a portal. To some sort of demon dimension and evil forces come and go and do as they please.

So just if you, if you didn't know that at home, this is one of the things we're doing now is opening up demon portals. And we also kind of watch horror movies, but this is one of the benefits, you know, fringe benefits that comes with, you know, setting up a show that rolls die and brings in horror movies and evil forces. It's the whole reason I joined. And you too can join and be part of this evil madness so go to movie meltdown.com click on that link right there at the top that says join the horror club and you can enjoy all the fun and games that comes along with the demon dimensions that we're opening up and we talk about horror movies on occasion. Sometime so brian what's the uh what's the minimum to join up for.

That two bucks Two bucks, two American dollars, and you can get all this and more. Two measly dollars, and you can have access to all of the episodes. Now, granted, you can throw some more at us, and we'll come up with some other crazy things, but you get two dollars in, and you can listen to every one of the bonus episodes, all horror-related, all just for you. And on top of that, our little promo we've got going now is the previously mentioned Rolling of the Die, If you join up, you get to give us a movie to put on the list, and then we'll roll the die and potentially get to your movie down the line. We never know when.

That's part of the evil forces that live inside the 20-sided die. But you can be part of that if you just join the club, and then you can get your movie on the list and listen as we crack open the thin little membrane that's containing evil on the other side of the void. Each week, we're poking at it with a stick. You can be part of that magic. Evil magic.

Dark magic. For $ 2. You are probably just going to throw that money in the garbage anyway. Probably. I mean, you don't need anything to do with it now.

You can't go anywhere. You can't do anything functional. I was lucky to come up with enough to scrape together to get $ 6. 66 worth of goods because. I don't go anywhere.

I don't do anything now. It's the wonderful world we live in. So now you've got that extra two bucks to throw towards something important. Like this show. That did actually happen.

It was at a Walgreens. And the woman was like, oh, Lord. That's happened to me a handful of times. And I'm always like, fantastic. I was somewhere.

I don't remember what it was. And the lady actually told me. Like when the amount rang up, she's like, oh, we'll just round this up to 670. Like the hell you will. I was like, you can round it down.

I was like, but you're not going to rip me off just because the cash register rang up an evil, quote unquote, evil number. Satan says you give me this for free. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. Well, there you go.

You don't have to round up if you want. You can just leave it an even two bucks. So there you go. If you want to round it up to $ 100, feel free. I have a God level set up just for crazy people that want to throw $ 100 at us.

But you don't have to do that. We're really looking for like crazy millionaires that want to just throw money at something weird. And we are those weirdos. So it's certainly an option if you're looking for that. But assuming you're not a millionaire, two bucks is.

All you need. And we will take your $ 6. 66 if you have it. That's true. If you want to throw that in there every month just to get on board with the evil, feel free.

We are more than happy to go with that evil number, unlike that lady behind the counter. Well, let's say you buy something for $ 3. 34. Am I doing this math right? I don't know if I am or not.

I don't bother with math. Well, let's say your change that comes back for whatever reason is $ 6. 66 and you're scared to death of what's going to happen. You send it to us and you get all this great stuff. There you go.

We're saving your soul. Yeah. The only hope for you is to give us money so that you can go on to some sort of afterlife that you will enjoy as opposed to the evil forces that live within our episodes. Turned so televangelist. Get out your pocketbooks you know.

That you want to give. That's what we're looking for some sort of demon televangelist it's the ultimate level we're going for for this. So go to movie meltdown.com click on the horror club link on the. Right side of the page and join the club With your help, we can keep this 20-sided die rolling. Hey, hey, come here.

Come here. This is Dan Roebuck, and I just want to tell you, you've got to listen to Movie Meltdown. That's www.moviemeltdown.com. And if you don't know how to spell movie or meltdown, then. You don't deserve to listen to it anyway.

Oh, you've got to do the beat after me. A, B, C. Easy as one, two, three. I'll sing when I go away. A, B, C.

One, two, three. It is a time when magic is more powerful than science, and only those who control the magic control destiny. They are the visionaries. Visionaries, lights of the magical light. Visionaries, magical powers they.

Fight. Powers of light, they change, give and steal. Powers to accomplish the greatest of deeds. Visionaries, lights of the magical light. She was talking about some toys or something the other day, and I was telling her about, oh, you said you were a sucker for toys with holograms.

Oh, Lord. So we started talking about visionaries. I was going to say, I was like, no. And I'm like, I don't even remember most of the details about it. I just remember standing in the store looking at the package going.

Well, that's cool. I do, right? Yeah, so, Visionaries. And you were trying to explain it to me. And I had questions.

Yeah, I was trying to explain the cartoon, and I was like, here, just watch the intro. I was going to say, did you watch the cartoon? No. Because I watched the cartoon as a kid. I just remember the toys, and I knew it was a cartoon.

Yeah. But I never paid attention enough to even piece a story together. I had like Something about holograms. I don't know. I had like two of the figures.

But what am I... Yeah, it's like... Everybody has that one kid that's in their neighborhood that has every toy that comes out. Thankfully, I didn't get that far. I got.

I had more Star Wars than most kids probably. But I still didn't know. There's a lot of the big ones that other kids had that I never got. There was me and a couple other friends that were like, you had to do yard work, you had to do dishes, and then you got your allowance, and then every once in a while your parents would take you to Toys R Us. And you'd be able to buy one or two action figures.

And then you had that one kid that lived in the neighborhood whose parents just bought him anything he wanted. He was like, I want this and this and this and this. And you're all just super stoked because you've got snake eyes. Yes, I've got snake eyes. And you go over to his house and he's got, oh, I've got snake eyes and I've got the flag.

And you're like, what? What? Here's my platoon of snake eyes. They're hanging out on the deck of the flat. Yeah.

Jeez. I remember working so hard one summer just to save up enough money for a Sky Striker. And God, all he had to do was just go like, I want a Sky Striker and I want I want was the other the Rattler and I want this and I want that. His parents just bought it for him. I was like, son of a bitch.

I spent all summer mowing yards to get the money for this. I got like one or two at a time, like figures wise. And I don't even remember how, like most of the big stuff I would get just like Christmas or birthday. And that was pretty much it. But I do remember specifically, it was like, I think it had been my birthday and I'd gotten money.

Yeah. And of course, like my only thing was like, well, they're coming out with more Star Wars figures. And there was like an ad in the paper. And I'm trying to remember what it was for. Like, value city or somewhere like.

Somewhere i didn't go to normally but i'm like but they're on sale and i think i still had the ad for years because it was like 97 cents or something like they were like even then they were way more than that and they were some sort of crazy ass sale they were having and like i went there with all of my birthday money and bought like 13 v it was like the most toys i've ever bought myself at any one time in my life Now I put that to shame all the time. But at the time, I was like, I never had money, so I never bought that much. So I was like, everything. I was like, and this one, and this. I don't even know.

I haven't seen this movie. I don't know what this is, but I'm buying it anyway. Yeah, that's the most I bought myself of little toys. Everything else was just like, wait for Christmas, and maybe I'll get a sleeve on. Never.

Never even got one as an adult. What? Slave 1. Do you want a Slave 1? No, I don't want one now.

I bought the redone version and then I didn't like the colors. And then I stuck my other one. Back on the shelf. I was like, well, I've still got the old one and those colors are cooler. I think when the second run came out, when they did the re-release, I bought a bunch of the figures.

I re-bought an X-Wing. I think I wanted to buy a Slave 1, but I think I think they were hard to find, I want to say. I know the figures were super hard to find at the time. At the time. Because then I was a dork and found some and bought a bunch of them.

They're still in the box somewhere. If somebody out. There needs Power of the Force Boba Fett, let me know because I've still got them in the package. My friend's mom worked at Walmart. Inside track.

Inside track. So she would set the box aside of what we wanted. Like, we would tell her what we wanted, and she would go through and pick them all out. You totally can't do that. Yeah.

Can't do that. As someone who worked at a toy store for years, that's fireable. Yeah, well, his mom did that. And we also, one of my buddies would go through, and if he found figures that he needed but didn't have money for, he would pop open the bottom shelf and shove them in there. Yeah.

And then we had money, we would come back. And get them. We'd, we'd find people doing that over the years. Hide them? Yeah, you hide them so that you can come back and get them later.

Yup. Yup. The tricks of the illegal trade. Good times. But yeah, I ended up giving away all my Star Wars stuff.

I had a friend, a really good friend that was a huge Star Wars fan, uh, had all the original figures and everything, like original, original figures when we were a kid. And, uh, His house got hit by a tornado. Oh, God. And it destroyed, like, I mean, it destroyed their family's house. So his family was, like, homeless for a while.

And I just was like, hey, here's all my Star Wars stuff. That's kind of awesome. Because I was. I still have those traumatic thoughts of. Didn't that happen to what's-his-face that you all were good friends with?

Yeah, which, again, I talked to him recently. I guess I won't out him by name, but I talked to him recently on the internets, and I think about that all the time, because he was the kind of guy who had, and anybody who knows him, one of which in particular will know who I'm talking about right now. It was a running joke that he had, I don't even remember the number, like. 11 R5 D4s. Like, not R2.

Yeah. R5-D4. Yeah. The broken ass robot. And he had, like, variations of it.

Wow. Like, this one was this package. But this was, like, a weird thing that they did on this package that was different than this other package. All of them. He had all of them.

Fire in his house. Wow. I still... Like, it creeps me out to think about that. Lost all of his Star Wars toys.

Well, see, the only reason... The reason I gave all my stuff to him was... He was a collector of stuff, and at the time, I wasn't really collecting anything, and I was still kind of living out of my car. You can't put all those Star Wars toys in your car. Yeah, you can't put all that shit in my car.

I was like, you know what? I was like, do I really need all this stuff? Because I go through phases like that where I'm just like, you know what? All I need is a good knife and a backpack and. I feel like you've come around these days.

Oh, yeah. I approve of your stuff, so I don't care. 300 backpacks and a shit ton of knives. Swords. 498 tiki mugs.

As long as you got cool stuff. That's all that matters. Yeah. That's what gets us through. Well, you know, the thing is, too, I mean, we've been in the same place for so long now.

I think this is the longest I've ever been in one place. Yeah. I used to move from year to year, so I never spent more than a year in one place. And everything you have used to fit in this trunk that's underneath. Yeah, the trunk that's back there in the corner.

Everything I own fit in that trunk. So it used to not be the crow trunk. It used to just be my trunk. It's an instrument's trunk that... Came from.

Where your tuba used to be. Don't pretend. The Air Force. Your sousaphone. Throw away.

And that's the crow trunk. That's the crow trunk. Well, I mean... All my crow memorabilia. And Brandon Lee miscellaneous stuff.

Huh? And they're miscellaneous Brandon Lee stuff or is it all the crow that they had to. There's... Yeah, it's miscellaneous. Laser mission in there?

Yeah, laser mission stuff. Showdown in little Tokyo. Stuff. Yep, showdown. Stuff from Rapid Fire.

A lot of movie posters. Anything that I could grab from... Suncoast. Anything that I could grab. So I sold you that stuff.

Yeah, you probably sold me most of the stuff. I'm pretty sure. Because that is around the time I remember you hanging out there. Yeah, I'd come in and grab all the clear stuff. I probably wronged you.

And went, damn, I was going to buy this. Yeah. Waiting for stuff to go on sale. You know, I don't know. I do have the City of Angels one sheet still on the cardboard.

Because the posters were hard to come by. He won't watch any of this. Oh, no, it's terrible. No, it is a nightmare. Yeah.

But it was... the posters would only come in once most of the time. Yeah. And usually it was well before the movies came out because it was like, here's the big release. Here's the movies coming out this summer or whatever. So like you would get those in like, so anything I got, so most of the posters I had, I bought beforehand.

A lot of them were stuff I already knew, you know, it was, or, you know, here's a Pulp Fiction poster. It was like, Oh, well, cool. I know what that is. That one came out because it was one of the new releases. And I was like, Oh fuck, it's the crow.

I need this. And then I got it, and it sat in the cardboard, and then I went to the theater and saw it, and I went, what the hell is going on here? Are you not a big fan of Vincent Perez? Is it Vincent Perez? It's...

Again, I haven't watched it since the theater. I was just so like. Was Iggy Pop in that one? I think that was the problem. And I like Iggy Pop, even in stuff, not just musically.

As an actor, he's a weirdo, but sometimes he is perfect for the role, but I feel like That, and they had another villain type guy that was horrible. It's a whole thing. So, yeah, I feel like Vincent was the least of their worries. But, yeah. Never saw it.

Refused to see it. It's got the Edward Furlong one. I refused to see that one, too. Isn't there another one? Oh, the Eric Mobius?

Yeah, the one with, what's his face? I have. I think I told you. I've got some of the Suncoast. The big black and whites?

Yeah. We were talking about those the other day somewhere. They are, but they're not. They came out during Halloween. Okay.

So they're big, huge cardboard, black and white. One of them's got Michael Myers' face. The other one's got Freddy Krueger's face. Oh, you had Ash, too. Or did you not?

It's the skull from Evil Dead. And the other one's Pinhead. I also still have a huge number of those big black and whites from the top of the... So once again, if you guys need those, I don't know how to ship them without them being destroyed because any shipping company is going to trash them. We do that on a regular basis.

So that's why I was like, I'm like, somebody out there needs them. I don't want to get rid of them. You just need to set up a booth at these conventions. That's what I'm saying. If somebody will get me a booth and let me sell.

All this crap. I don't think you guys were supposed to give those away, were you? In the beginning, we didn't. People used to ask for them all day long. Hey, can we buy these?

And I'm like, no, just go away. So for years, we just told people, get lost. And then finally, I think they just wanted to swap them out and put new stuff in there because they were all really classic stuff. And then eventually, they picked more like, Here's some cool 90s movies that we're going to put up there. Because technically the.

Guy told me they weren't supposed to get rid of them. Originally. And I bitched at him because I was like, the other guy here the other day, I paid him money and he said I could come get him. And the guy was just like, all right, here, take him and shut up. Did you actually give the other guy money?

Fuck, I don't know. But no, eventually they swapped out. Maybe I did. I don't know. They swapped out and put some new ones in there.

And then they did officially sell them. Yeah. But again, that was like a long time before that happened. And then if you were in some stores, some idiot that worked there would buy a whole fucking bunch. Of them and then not have anything to do with them.

When I had my apartment, I remember that was the only one I remember like kind of. And I have somewhere I had the Back to the Future one that was like Doc and Marty standing next to the DeLorean. Yeah. That one was cool. I think I had that out at one point.

And then in that first apartment I had, I had the Thelma and Louise were like sitting on the car. I had that just like lean up against the wall because they're so huge. You can't even hang them up, really. They're just giant. So that was like sitting there just being cool.

And other than that, most of the others are in the box that they were in right now. It was sat there ever since. Because where the hell am. I going to put them? They're giant.

There was a house that I lived in. that had this weird, creepy ass basement that we didn't know it had a basement because, because the, because the fridge was in front of the door that went to the basement, which was weird. We didn't know. Was there a secret door? It was small. It was, it was weird.

Dude, it was a weird, weird house. I do need a house with secret passages, but, uh, still waiting to put that together. Uh, when we, when we got there, uh, I had to move the fridge because somebody didn't like where the fridge was, so I moved it, and when we did, there was a door there that was like a small door, like a door for a. Hobbit? Like a pantry.

Like a fucking closet for spices and shit. So we opened that up, and I was like, oh, cool, it's like a little cabin with... Wait a minute, there's stairs over here to the side. And you go down the steps, rickety-ass steps, and it gets into the basement. And you flip on a light, and there's a little room in the basement.

I'm more surprised that light still works. Why? Because lights burn out. And it's been years. Well, I don't know that it's been years, but.

We'll pretend he had a torch if it makes it more cinematic. But the lights, you know, it lit up, and I was like, okay, cool. You know, there's a weird closet down there. The mysterious bloodstains. And there was a door off to the side.

And that led to. The furnace. And it was an old house, so it still had the coal furnace down there. But it had the new furnace next to it, but it had the big old... You know the burbs?

The furnace that they burn the people in? That's what that fucking furnace looked like. So that's where they were burning? It looked like the furnace from the burbs. I was like, holy shit, you know, that's cool.

Sounds like a horror movie. But that's where I put all my horror posters was downstairs in that basement. I had everything set up with my room, my DVD player and stuff like that. And that was my hangout for a while. Reminds me of that thing I just saw on the internet.

I guess it happened a couple months ago. A woman in New York, I don't know if you all saw it. She had this apartment in New York, which you know apartments in New York are probably ridiculously overpriced anyways. She's in her bathroom and she pulls her, she can feel something from the mirror and she pulls her medicine cabinet out and there's an abandoned, creepy, derelict apartment unused on the other side of her apartment that seems like somebody's been camping out in there. I was going to say, if not for that last part, I'd be like, start moving in.

You get twice as much space for the same rent. Hell yeah. But she crawled through there. Her friends were freaking out. They're like, what are you doing?

Somebody could be over there. You don't know what's over there. If somebody's been squatting in this empty, abandoned... Because first of all, whoever owned this building could be charging more. Yeah, you would think they would know that it was there just so they could get more money.

They would do a full check to make sure, where. Else can I rent out in this? What corner of the basement can I charge somebody $ 700 for? I've lived in some apartments like that. They're in the basement.

No windows. Fire hazard. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely no windows.

Red flag. But just to think, because her medicine cabinet just popped right out, so somebody could have been in there, popped her medicine cabinet out, and came right into her place at any time. And maybe did, and put it back when they were done. Don't know. The fact that she just crawled her ass in there, too, with her, like, I'm going to go on an adventure.

Like, bitch, where are you going? Well, I mean, you've seen that. That's how you die. That YouTube video, right? Which later, I'm pretty sure they said was fake, but I assume everything on the internet's fake.

So at this point I'm like, I don't care. It's just a fun story. But like the guy that kept noticing like stuff missing from his refrigerator or whatever. So he like, without saying anything, set up a camera and kind of left it running. And then like, there's this weird layout to this place.

And like the whole, like up above this doorway is this whole big like area. And like the middle of the night, like this lady pops the door open and comes down and standing around his kitchen drinking his orange juice or. Whatever there have been real things of that happening yeah i think that stuff is all real i think that footage was faked but all of the stories about it you know there's plenty of true stories that are the exact same thing. Happening that's such a nightmare we don't have to worry about it here because that's see that's the plan for us hoarders you put enough shit. In there nobody can come get that was even as a kid that was my plan because other people like kids would be worried about like.

Underneath the bed. I'm like, man, I had so much shit. Ain't nothing getting under my bed. No monster or woogie man could ever get under there, so I was safe. No monster big enough to do any damage.

We could have little mice-sized monsters underneath there, maybe. Which you get those later. Stories to tell in the dark. Oh, dude, I showed Boyfriend some pictures from those books. They are fucking still some of the most terrifying shit I've ever seen.

Did you ever watch that movie? Is that the The one recently? I keep forgetting. What's the one from. What's the one a few years before that that was the Guillermo del Toro produced one about the little.

People in the dark? Oh, is that got the one that had the teeth fairy? No. It's another. What was that from?

It's a whole different one. What was that from? There is a tooth fairy movie from like 90s? No. It seemed like it was a part of a different movie where it had these little fairies.

But I don't remember. I don't remember why they were tooth fairies. I don't think they came after your teeth. I think they had teeth. And I think they just did.

They look like The Rock. No. I might have seen this movie. Oh, no. I was trying to think of something I'd watched lately.

And then. I. Remember hearing about this when it came out. And then I was like, well, anything about the world ending, I'll probably watch that. Especially these days.

So I watched How It Ends. I remember hearing about it, but I never watched it. Yeah, it's one of those that just, I think it might be Netflix produced. I don't know. Just popped up on Netflix and you're like, oh.

And I would assume it's like, oh, this random movie with nobody in it. But Forest Whitaker's in it. I'm like, okay. So it must be like a pretty legit movie. What the hell?

It's got.... All these pieces of things that could make a cool movie, and then. They just kind of go, but we're going to go over here instead. So watch them drive around for. An hour and a half instead.

What was the del Toro one you were talking about? That's a whole different thing. Well, you mentioned it. Now I want to know what it was. I thought it had something to do with the scary tales to tell in the dark.

Or scary stories. This was the other one that was like the remake of the TV movie that had little creatures in it that would come out in the dark and climb around. No. Now we have to look it up. So, yes.

The Scary Stories to Tell the Dark, more recently, was produced by Del Toro. And I saw it, and it was actually, yeah, I was... I ended up... I expected it to be something else. It was actually a little more of a conventional...

Creepy kids running around. Again, I think it focused more on the kids, which I liked. So I liked that part of the story. And then there were some creepy monsters, too. For me, in a kids movie, it was really creepy.

It had some creepy stuff. Did you ever see the books, though? I've seen the pictures in it after the fact. It is one of those, somehow, as a kid, I didn't see those as much as I liked weird, scary stuff as a kid, but no. I've got a couple of them, and holy shit, they're creepy.

So yeah, that's... that more recent one the one i was originally thinking of was the 2010 one. That's don't be afraid of the dark that is also produced by del toro and was pretty good actually again it's one of those you can always tell when he's producer and not director so it's not quite as cool as most of his stuff but you can see he's got his hand in it and it's creepy and but yeah it had little creatures and it was kind of a redone version of an old story and I. Remember it being pretty cool. Yeah, I remember that one. But yeah, that End of the World movie.

What the hell, man? It was just. I don't know where they got that guy from. There's like the main dude and he ends up like visiting his girlfriend's parents and then at that moment the world like shuts down or some sort of thing. There's an event.

We don't really know what it is. And then he decides he's gonna go like drive back halfway across country to get to his girlfriend. And of course, then her dad wants to go with him. So it's this, they're already not great. You know, it's the weird in-laws thing.

They're like not really getting along anyway when he gets with him. And now they're stuck on a road trip together trying to go save her. Yeah. There's moments that are like, okay, that's got potential. And then there's just, they don't ever really get to anything. epic enough to sell this, like, end-of-the-world thing.

There's, like, every day or two some other weird things going on. And you're like, okay, that's kind of a cool idea if we went with it. And then they drive on and something else happens. And I'm like, but... Well, what the hell was that about?

And why did we... And then we get to the end. And I won't spoil it, but I'm just like... Credits here? Really?

What the fuck? Like, it just. Yeah, I don't know how they sprung for Forest Witter. I'm assuming that was the whole budget. Because, I mean, even the effects weren't that amazing.

Maybe it was somebody a favor or something. I'm assuming it was one of those deals. It was like, we're probably not going to get this greenlit. Wait, we suckered Forest into doing this? Okay, we got the backing now.

We can make this move. So, yeah. Anything else we need to say? Did you watch anything else? Because I don't think I watched anything.

I was trying to think if there was anything else. We could talk some more about Tommy Dawkins and how dreamy he is. That's every day of your life. I know it is. He likes to ride bicycles.

And likes the Denver Broncos. I don't know about him and his personal life. See, on the other hand, I mentioned I watched this recently, but I didn't go into it. I did finally. I saw it pop up on Redbox, and I was like, hmm, what is that?

Seems like I would know a movie called Love and Monsters. But I hadn't heard anything about it. And then it sat there for several times. I passed by it and I'm like, I don't really have time right now. But one of these times, I'll probably get that.

I finally did. Really liked it. I was surprised. I expected it to just be kind of dumb. And I'm like, the premise may be in your brain.

I don't know. But I thought it was fun. And it had a pretty well put together story of this... guy again. It's it's into the world so that's the most important part but so the world's taken over by giant monsters that are sort of variations of things that are already here so like some sort of giant frog or a lizard or something but they just become this giant mutated version and some of them are just weird things they're just like i don't know what that is but it's kind of cool looks like it rolled out a never-ending story so i'm sold on it so there's lots of giant monsters only if it's. Not the first one and not the second one because that weird.

Bird creature those other two But the yeah, it was it was a surprisingly well put together like version of this guy who kind of had never done anything again. He'd been like locked in a bunker. More or less. Everybody just sort of the people that survived, like took off and went to different bunkers. And like this girl that was his girlfriend was in one that was like miles and miles away.

And like he hadn't even talked to her in years. And finally they got like a ham radio set up going. And he found out she was still alive and she was still there. So he's just like, oh my God, I'm going to go see her. So he decides to go.

Well, yeah, probably not a good plan, but he decides to go out and make his way to her. What was the TV show that we watched that had the exact same premise as this, except for with no monsters? End of the World. End of the World Apocalypse. And he has to go find his girlfriend who he thought was dead.

Who ends up being a complete, just horrible person. She's the worst. But what was it? Yeah, I don't remember. That was a good show.

I liked that show. But it had the exact same, like, he had to go find his girlfriend because he thought she was dead. It was a zombie apocalypse that only affected the adults. Well, it was Daybreakers. I watched that because you told me about it.

Wasn't it good? I really liked Daybreakers. It was awesome. And she was a horrible person. I mean.

She was, don't lie. Don't sugarcoat it. They did it. Well, I mean, I thought that was an amazing show because everybody continually changed. Like they would get an episode to themselves and you'd be like, okay, I know who this person is.

I got them figured out. And then like you'd get a different perspective from somebody else or from a different scenario. And you're like, oh, well now they're. huh, like everybody kind of had a different facet to them the more you got into it. Again, way more sophisticated character development than you expect about a zombie apocalypse kind of a show. But it was so good.

Especially a funny one is as entertaining as that was. So good. Yeah, I was really impressed with that. And Love and Monsters 2. It's that same kind of thing.

It's like, it really, like, by the end of it, it gets this whole, like, It develops the characters pretty well, and it has him going on this whole, like, figuring out who he's supposed to be in this world. And, like, yeah, way more than I expected. And the monsters must look pretty cool, because this was my comment recently, was, like, it got nominated for an Oscar. So, in a year when they didn't make that many movies... Fuck.

The Oscars, I will repeat again, because they left out Marianne. Oh, Lord. And I know she was more of a TV actress than a movie actress, but if I had to fucking sit through The Town That Dreaded Sun, or whatever. Sundown. Whatever.

Then she should have at least been, because she was in more than a few movies. And Corey Hayne. She was in a couple. Well, that was a given. That's why.

Yeah, they're already dead to me for cutting out Corey Hayne. But fuck them, double fuck them for leaving out Mary Ann. And they put a lot of people in, because I watched it this year, and they were flying through. I guess because a lot of people died last year. But like it was triple time compared to most years.

Like most years it's just like person sits there for a beat. Go to the next person. This was like person, person, person. I was just like, geez, I don't even know who this person was. If they weren't a huge person that you already recognize, if you're like a hairdresser.

Oh, no, I don't know. It's gone now. Special effect. Nope, nope, gone. Like any of these other people.

I'm like, I don't even know who they were. They're dead already. And now I don't even get to learn who they were. Because you guys were scrolling through this shit. Anyway, monsters.

Monsters are cool. It also has crazy-ass Michael Rooker in it. Ah, Rooker. And he's as entertaining as he always is. How can you not love Michael Rooker?

Even if you think he's a crazy bastard, you're right. And he's adorable, and you have to love him. So it's got him in a special appearance. And what is that girl's name? Ariana Greenblatt?

Who I only know because, again, she's on kid shows. But, like, for a little kid actress, she's surprisingly good. So, they have a nice little appearance in there. So, yeah, it was a lot of fun. I'm surprised.

I always forget that Michael Rooker's in... Mall rats. How do you forget? What were you going to say earlier? You were going to say something.

It's not important. I just always forget. Because this has been in a complete and utter. Because everything else is essential knowledge on this show. I don't remember.

I don't really care. So it wasn't that important. It's important to me. Your thoughts and feelings. Really?

Are they? What the fuck's that supposed to mean? What? That my every thought is that important? Not every thought.

Something of some stupid shit. I know. You usually tell me those thoughts. Why is this one any different? We usually devote a whole episode to them.

What are you talking about? Yeah, what are you talking about? That hasn't been said. That's been brought to you by this episode. So, these were our crazy thoughts.

It's good to catch up. Get these important thoughts out there into the world every once in a while. maybe next time we'll watch a movie anything else to pass along to people this time around. Social distance yeah still. Don't give it up i hope we get rid of the mask because i'm sick of fighting with them but i'm fine with staying six feet away. From pretty much everybody all the time yeah yeah even people i know i usually don't need to be that close I know, right?

Unless I'm cutting through and then I'm like, no. Huge. Just trying to get over there and get a drink. Do you do the low crawl? No.

Duck. If you duck, it's fine. As long as you duck or you go. So keep that in mind, guys. Social distancing for the rest of your lives.

All right. Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next time. Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.

Bye. I don't want to go to work. I don't want to go to sleep. I don't want to do it. I don't want to do it.
