Last. Olivia Newton John, in a timeless holiday classic, is a headstrong widow struggling to provide her children a home, and Gregory Harrison is the bottom line banker charged with taking it away. I came up here to give you one last chance to make these payments. Just need a little more time. If you can't, then you and your children are going to have.
To leave until they find themselves stranded in a freak winter storm. We're not lucky with no phones. One of the bills who just decided to cut back on no power. You just learn to do without and no escape. Anybody out in this kind of weather's this plain idiotic.
You're here. It's a recipe for love. I wanted to see you. I want to see you. If they don't kill each other first love, Olivia Newton John and Gregory Harrison have the makings of a Christmas romance.
Welcome to our penultimate stocking stuffer of twenty twenty five Season eleven. We're here with a very special movie from a very special time and a very special place. And it's such a gigantic task to tackle something like this that I don't have a guest. Guys, I have three guests with me today, and not just anybody off the street. I Am not just pulling the three drunk men from the general store down the mountain up here to deliver my baby calf.
No, no, no, no no. I have brought the hosts of the longest running horror podcast on the internet, Noight, a living podcast. We have Amy, we have Freddy, and we have Andy. Hot guys. Hey having us.
It's so nice to have you guys here. You made our holiday season a little brighter to night and a. Little darker too at times. Right, I mean this is a movie. I mean we have dead animals, we have dw I, dead husband.
There's there's a we have disclosures, Yeah. Closures that are not necessarily solved at the end of this movie. But we'll get into a lot of the nitty gritty. We went back here, We went back to nineteen ninety four. Wow, this is ninety four, ninety four.
Would you have thought this movie was nine like? Watching it? Did it feel ninety four to you? No? I was thinking early two thousands.
Can I say less than be believed? I mean, they don't say where they are, right, we don't. We never really know what state they're in. So it feels like, yeah, people are still dressing like that on the mountains somewhere. There's no there's no cell phones.
No, there's no late model vehicles that I can remember. No, there's very few. There's like one car in the movie. Right, you did have Larry Darryl and his other brother. Darryl, so that was definitely two Daryl's.
Yeah, okay, but I clocked it as nineties because I live in Newton. John's hair it's. The scrunchy, right, it's the scrunchy. Crunchy, but also a French braid. Yes, yes, yeah, that is so late eighties, early nineties.
Mom coded very much. Yeah, that did date it. Yes, so the curled bangs, the big bangs, the big bangs. That you like do the I never did this because I never trusted myself with bangs. But where you'd have the round brush and you just blow dry up.
I remember in high school there was a like very pretty popular girl who sat in the front of the classroom and during class the entire time she had like one of those round brushes and she would just be doing this. She was curling, cranking her hand to get that perfect big Yeah. See Brandon's been watching a lot of La Law lately, Yeah, which I think ended sometime like early nineties, and it feels like it's the very different version of this because it's obviously like city, urban modern life. But there's something about like the fuzziness, like the look of it that you feel like, oh, yeah, this banker might be def like he might be a plaintiff or defendant soon on La Law. I see what I mean.
Yeah, Yeah, Well you kind of feel like he could turn up in a lot of places. Is that the only thing I really recognized him from, although I know he's like a he's a big relative, big name. I remember from Trilogy. Of Terror, Yeah, which is one of his first credits too. Yeah, early on.
But he's got so much other stuff. Yeah, as do you. So, Yeah, Andy, is it time to tell my gross Gregor Harrison story? Oh my god, it's always time to tell you late telling your gross Gregory Horison story. I was looking forward to this.
I was excited when you gave us these options to pick movies and I saw Gregory Harrison. I was like, Oh, it's that guy. He's an erotic thriller in the nineties. Yeah, and he was one of my first crushes. It was Caught Body Chemistry.
To part two. And uh, yeah, when I had to watch straight stuff to you know get what. Well. I mean, he gets to take a shirt off in this movie, and I like you when you look at him, he doesn't because he's kind of you know, he's made very nerdy, yuppy in this movie, so he doesn't seem like up there in caliber to Olivia Newton John and then halfway through the movie he's shirtless and you're saying, oh, okay, this could work. Also his personality is terrible very much.
Yeah, well that's you know what we have to have here, because we do have a journey, right. So this movie it's made for CBS back in the day when you would have like a nice like you know, Sunday night movie kind of thing. Uh. It is directed by Sheldon Larry who directed any tell levision show you ever watched between the years like nineteen seventy eight and nineteen ninety two. He's got a first name for a last name and vice versa.
Very yes, And I always whenever I see that, I always like to think that there's like a Larry Sheldon out there and that they constantly wonder if they should trade lives just for a day. Oh, Emily, can I tell you one fun thing about Sheldon? You can please. He directed a segment for the Twilight Zone reboot in the eighties. Oh wait, the TV show, the show.
When they brought up a matter of minutes and anytime a Twilight Zone connection comes on because of zoned out, I have to say it. Oh no, I love it, and we have. Brannan went on a very great tear this year where we discovered that DVD sets of TV shows are very cheap, and because it's harder and harder to know like what you will actually still be able to watch digitally in you know, the future, He's just been buying like a lot of complete series of things. So we have the complete eighties Twilight Zone, which I've been excited to watch because I remember a couple of those episodes as being like actually good. Yeah, there's some good, some real bad, and there's.
Some like anything like anything. I don't I don't remember Sheldon Larry's episode, but I'm really intrigued to get to it now. Oh definitely, yeah, because I mean he he gets to do a like a variety of things here. I guess would be the best way to say it. So, now, who would like to give this is a Christmas romance which hopefully we heard the trailer for.
Who would like to give us synopsis and kind of go through it? We can spoil things. We're counting on people watching it, which you can watch. I think this is on It's on Canopy, it's on Watch. I watched on two B.
It's on two B. It's on Amazon Prime as well, so it's pretty accessible. Paramount Plus, wow, this who is not showing this movie is now? That's where we watched it. Wow, they must be rolling and rotes now I hope.
So I hope that Sheldon Larry is getting his checks and that they're not made to Larry Sheldon whoever. Before over synopsises, I just want to say, did anybody read the book this is based on by Maggie David Well. Darren McLeod obviously did. The woman who adapted it and wrote many many more Christmas movies to come? Oh my god, I saw that too, and she also wrote or I don't know who Dark Cloud is necessarily, but I know they wrote The Smirl Family, the first Smirl Family movie that haunted Remember the smirls.
They were most recently part of the Conjuring universe. Wait wait, wait is this the one that was the TV movie where the man is sexually assaulted. The same writer? I have seen that. Oh my goodness, yeah, yeah, smirl Sir.
Why it felt like a share. Your cameras have been writing it. Knew it knew sometimes it is on point. I'll take a crack at it. Why don't we do that please?
As as the intended audience for a Christmas One Man of a certain age, the story starts off with this lady who's getting laid off from her job and she's a single mother of two adorable little daughters. Widow even she's a widow. Yeah, Grace Underfire very oh yeah the show. No, I feel like this is very nineties Cody, because there are so many shows and movies about, you know, the recession during this. Time, single moms doing their best.
Yeah, Roseanne too during this. Yeah, And just a quick aside, do you think that was like a pushback to dan Quayle versus Murphy Brown, Like the entertainment industry is like, fuck you dan Quayle. Pardon right, look. At how these oh you can cur story? Yeah, like look at how these women are making it work.
Well, yes, and then there's another side to that, in the fact that a lot I watched a couple of the movie. There's a few movies like this at this era, like in the early nineties that were CBS occasionally like Movie of the Week ABC or like Made for like USA or something, and more of them are about the man melting and not the not like an icy woman lawyer who has to earn her lesson. And I'm wondering what that was. It like we were too new to like feminism that that they weren't ready to dismantle it yet. So instead it was like no softness of women melts yuppie men.
That it would take a few more years before we decided we hated working women. Break is the yuppy delric. Yep, that's our quote from the movie when Freddy throws that out. It's not just some random again. Good good band name yup about that?
Yes? All right? So Amy continues, So she's laid off, it's Christmas. Laid off and it's Christmas time, and what are you gonna do? Well, she's going to make some pound cakes with her kids.
Naturally, all those for five dollars a pound cake, which is a really good price. But I guess maybe in the nineties and that would be forty thousand dollars. I meant to like actually google that and see what five dollars in nineteen ninety four would be. But continue because I'll look it up. And so, you know, everybody loves her around town, and they love her poundcakes and her sweet little daughters, and her one daughter is all obsessed, not unlike Linus for his great pumpkins.
True of the Christmas Stranger story, which I've never heard of this story before in my entire life. Do they make it up for this movie? I've heard it some I can't remember where. But when she started, as soon as she said the chair, in my head, I knew Christmas Stranger. I don't know where that came from.
But it's not entirely made up for the movie. I think it's I don't know, it's some like medieval British thing. Maybe it's and google, Yeah, it redirects you to some uplifting novel like Tuesdays Maury type thing. Was that what that book was? Yeah?
Yeah, cover. So this is her life now and everything's you know, held together by wishes and dreams. And meanwhile we have Brian. What's this bitch's name again, Olivia Newton John Sandy. I honestly don't remember her name.
What was her name? Her last name is stone Cipher, which is saying a lot. I feel like that is a a loaded name that the movie doesn't really explore because it's clearly it's her husband's name. It's a family name, and like stone Cipher, that's a very like what are you saying with that? Julia?
Julia is her name? Julia was her name? All right? So we have Julia with the kids selling poundcake laid off, and we have Brian in the city and he's a high powered banker and he's been tasked with they don't have anybody else to take a foreclosure notice. Up them up the mountain to somebody.
And you're like, well, who's a somebody gonna be Brian, It's gonna be Julia. Oh, I thought you meant no, I'm saying, you know, the movie does a terrible job of hiding that first, so you know, you know what, you know what Jrian for. We're also introduced to his short haired, dark haired fiance. Yeah, and as soon as you're introduced to her, you know that they're not going up together, right, Well. They didn't feel like a couple when they were introduced.
At first, I thought she was his assistance. They also knew this movie is called a Christmas Romance, so obviously he's not there to romance this woman. I at first thought she was the assistant because there's no like physical touching of any kind of just you'll pick me up at five thirty, right. Definitely. It was very cold, yes, but you know that's how working women are, just parts of ice from.
Yeah, not like wild women. No women, We're. Wearing buns, not pony channels, if we even have long hair. You know, he's gotta he's gotta right before Christmas, he's gotta go up the mountain, I guess to serve this foreclosure notice. And he takes off and the weather starts to get bad as he's driving up there to tell her, Hey, by the way, and she's like, by the way, this was my husband's house and his family for one hundred years.
And I'm like, you're really twisting it in there, lady. Yeah, and you're not really helping her cause either. But banking question, are foreclosures typically delivered in person by the sheriff. It is not by the bank employee. No, no, there's never the employe is never really directly involved in that.
As someone who used to be a banker, I'm just trying to tell you that that gets something that's given to another Yeah, I guess it's less romantic one of the sheriff delivers. Yeah, because then she has to fall in over of the sheriff. Yeah, you don't want to. You're not immediately like, oh, I hate the sheriff because he's doing it. He's just kind of for some reason, that extra layer of space between the sheriff and the banker makes the sheriff more sympathetic.
So you can't go shriff. Well, and the sheriff probably doesn't have the same financial means to presumably save the day at the end. Oh good point, whereas we trust that this guy probably does. Yeah, because he's an uptight already, probably doesn't spend much money on anything but wine and cheese. Yeah, you know, dudes and long wood trench coats, camel color.
They're just sitting on it. Can't take it with you. We all know what they is. It loaded, all. Right, So Amy, he's up there.
He's delivered the foreclosure. Notice what happens next. He's like, that really sucks. And then he goes to leave and the weather's so bad he crashes into a into a ditch basically, and he's been concussed. And so this nice woman who's just delivered this horrible news by the same person goes and helps.
Him because he'll die, he'll die out in the. She doesn't have a choice, so she drags his for real, drags him into the house, and the kids get weirdly attached to him, very quickly, very quickly. Yes, this is what happens when you raise your kids on a mountain like you need them to interact. It's like homeschooling to the extreme. They don't know how to react to other people, and it's a problem.
They're starved for daddy energy too. Oh yeah, yeah, they're starved for it. They need to be socialized, They need daddy, they need all of it. But Freddy said in the chat we had that it did have misery beats. Oh definitely.
Yep. I thought it was going to be overboard. Yeah. I thought he was going to wake up not knowing where he was, and she was going to try to manipulate the situation and then decide at the end that it's a terrible, like abusive thing to do. But no, he's aware, he's just miserable up there.
And I, yeah, I kind of was telling Amy the dark like I went kind of down a dark path that you go ahead, Andy. No, it be on the misery comparisons. There are other horror beats that I noticed in this movie that if you like re edited it, it could be a movie. It's what I say about all of these movies with a different score. It's a lifetime thriller, and the same thing if you watch lifetime thrillers and there's one movie I need to find the title of it that you realize all it's like and it's a three.
It's an obsessive thriller, and so on. If you just put Christmas decorations in the movie and play public domain holiday songs, it's one of these movies. It's the line between them. And you'll see a lot of directors who just go back and forth between the two. Jima Norski and fred Olin Ray both just constantly make one or the other that it is this like little little line and this is like the start of the chasm, maybe because this is ninety four and you can see it could go dark, it could go light, and it kind of finds a place in between.
Yeah. I was telling Amy it could be like Stepfather three basically totally. Yea, totally, you know what I mean, Like, because yeah, Tanks, it's like you're saying, Emily, it's a tweaks just a few. Yeah. Oh, there's an IMDb review that let me just find it because it's this person watching it getting very very fired up.
Uh so, let me say if I may read this IMDb review. I was a child when this movie was made. Hollywood movie plots told single mothers they needed a new father for their kids. They still do today. So many kids have been abused in so many ways because there are men and women around who pray on single parents by pretending to like their kids.
This is the vibe I got during the whole movie. Single man from the City is suddenly happy to have kids who aren't his, holding hands with a little girl and calling her sweetheart, et cetera. Single parents all have to be careful of predatory people. While Hollywood tells you your kids need a father or mother. With these unrealistic love interests.
No one can be alone or uncommitted, according to Hollywood. I do not disagree. I don't. He's a fired uprider. I'm like that.
Because it's a stretch. Come on. But that's why we felt that way. The subject it's. There, I guess, I mean I am.
I was a little more fuzzy on it. I kind of. I was more disturbed by how quickly he made the moves on her that too. Yeah, Or how quickly he is to step up and take on a fatherly roll. Right and be like I'm going to break that.
I'm going to tell you about death child. I've known for a day, and about how quick he was to U put actual hands on these children, you discipline them. Oh yeah, that's right. He does like the kid at. Talk about when it comes to it.
But yeah, when he did that, wing to call him dad at some point, and you're like, holy fure Daddy, help. All right to Amy, Let's get us through the plot so everybody knows where we are. So he's got a concussion. Whatever she's trying to She strips Hi naked because all of his clothes are wet, and she's gonna give him he husband's clothes, so like the whole dad transformation is happening. Yeah, get some haircut, but some glasses.
Here's his hare. Lie, he's got this concussion. They he doesn't want to sleep because you know, concussion, So he asked her to stay awake. This is one of their first heart to hearts in front of the fire. She helps him stay awake, they fall asleep.
They end up cuddled together. Bomb the kids see this, how confusing for them emotionally. The score was real cheesy. That was a note I had written down here. Yep.
True. This woman's really still grieving her husband hard. And that's what's happening. You learned that she was a foreign exchange students. That explains why she has an accident.
Yes, she just decided to say she fell in love. Got a green card. Yeah. When she was telling the story of how she was this young wide eyed exchange student from in love with this guy from the mountains, and all of a sudden, she's a widow taking care of two children on the eve of foreclosure. And I was thinking life comes at you fast.
Yeah, because what she was, she was just she nearly drowned before and then. One day it's summer loven and the next day you are a mountain woman raising two little girls who don't understand human relations. Bingo bango. The weather's real bad, so we can't leave, even though he tries, and the one little girl follows him when he tries to leave the first time, and you know, she almost dies out there. But thank god they have a donkey.
Yeah, a donkey, saye's day. Donkey saves the day? A donkey named General. Why do I remember that? Because it was a cute as it was as a donkey.
All donkeys are pretty cute. They are, so they were basically stuck in this house for like a day and a half, and I guess that was enough to fall in love. I mean, what else are you gonna do but fall in love with stranger in a day and a half? Sarah Connor and h Kyle ree similar. And humanity is alive today because of that, so think about it.
The movie's a lot like Terminatory. Just like Terminator, there's also a sheep that's pregnant. But the sheep's not doing well. It's not been eating. You know what.
That sheep they had it did a good performance. Yeah, she's a good I don't know, and I'm a sheep trainer. Yeah, but I don't know how they got that sheep to lay down and looks since Joseph Gordon love. It and a child actor also, yeah right, we could get a baby sheep, which I guess is a lamb who is like beautiful on camera and knows her ankles and it just has charisma. Baby, She's going to be a star.
Oh quick. As side, the acting very good all around it. Oh yeah, this is much better acted than than we would learn come to come to expect from these kinds. Of movies to be really impressed by the kids. Honestly, me too, Yeah, I was mostly impressed by that sheep.
Really good this. Yeah, I mean she's a loving you, not like she's a movie star. She's got her own singing in the movie, so like, yeah, she's invested. She is into this movie. And she's the.
Kind of single mom in this movie that takes on everything yep, with very brave no worries. She's gonna like birth this lamb no matter what. She's chopping wood. She's chopping wood. She's a catch, taking care for everybody.
She absolutely deserves you. Marri a very wealthy man, like much older than her, who's gonna die quickly. Like that's the ending I would have liked for her because I don't think she needs she doesn't need a man around. She just needs monney, which she is not getting in her And by the way, five dollars in nineteen ninety four apparently is ten ninety three today. You said that she a man, but she wants a man horny.
Yeah, she's lonely up there. I would you could under and like then you see the townspeople and you're like, yeah, there's not really anybody else that you can kind of place. Yeah, I don't think you want them as a father figure to your kids. But those guys weren't even acting. They're playing themselves.
That's very yeah, I gathered. But so we're up on the mountain, they kind of seemed to maybe fall in love or maybe not, because then we're interrupted. Right, Yes, help me remember why the. Helicopter shows up with fifty's where we're flying, like check off helicopter. There it is.
I was thinking myself right before the helicopter showed up, somebody had to have called the police, right. This man's been missing now for two days. For two days he missed cocktails. Yeah, and he was supposed to be cocktails at six. And none though we weren't considered missing until you've been gone for a month.
That's true. That's true, until your mailbox exploded with how much mail you were not collecting? Correct, because we didn't have any other way to know. So rich girlfriend Felicity flies a helicopter into the mountains to save the day. But it turns in our dudes drunk a little bit because they because they finally got that moon shone.
Yeah, that's a definitely moonho. City boys used to this country. Yeah, the neighbors were finally able to come up, get through with the weather and everything. So he's drunk a little bit, and he has this incredibly awkward scene where he tries to tell Olivia Newton John and that she's pretty, and he keeps going, you're pretty, which. Is relatable, like, that's probably what I would do if I was next to Olivia Newton.
John girlfriend's standing right next to it. He's telling her that she's pretty, but then he. Leaves Darcy Marcy Darcy vibes a little bit, So, I don't know, children, I don't think she was the match for him. Do better elsewhere at least she can find somebody more fit to her. She needs miss mister Darcy, she needs the first mister Darcy or no Darcy Marcy.
Yeah, that's what she needed, but said she had a Brian. She ends up leaving the Felicity and we're like, well, I guess that's it, movie, I guess that's all you have to show us. Not now we have a little bit more to go. She gets the foreclosure notice in the mail that he had said was going to become a formal notice in the mail and. It's signed by him.
Hm hm hm, and she just devastated because not only did he leave, now she gets this, but then he comes back. He comes back and he picks up that lamb because he can't stop picking that lamb up. Who could you? No, I would be picking that Yeah exactly. It was sup precious.
The image of him holding that lamb was like, I was saying this like the super soft guy dating profile. M h ye, good stuff. And he's like, Babe, I signed that foreclosure notice days before I met you. Yeah, I didn't mean it. I was still an evil banker at that time.
Yeah, I'm changed, I'm different now, let's all go sing a song together for. Well, here's the thing. He comes back, but her financial problems still exist. Yeah. Like yeah, because earlier in the film he's like, hey, maybe you can turn this into a museum or a live action interactive exhibit.
Can make cake pound cake? Yeah, like start selling your husband's antiques. Because there's once there's a scene at the end where he gives all the family presents and he has like this picture wrapped up right he drew It turns out to be a picture that he drew when the kids are sleeping. But I thought, because I'm you know, trained to believe in happy endings, that it was going to be the deed to the house or something, ohat. Or like a work of art that she could sell.
And then, you know, because Brannon asked me at the end of the movie. He like walks in and kind of his winky He's like, so did they save the farm? And I look at him, I'm like, uh not really. Maybe there is no resolve for no. No, I feel like there's a path.
I like this, she protected her way of life, you know what I mean, Like you an. Except though I mean it's kind of like right, it's like the corner we all turned with the play rent, where in your twenties you're like, yeah, we're not going to pick rent, and then in your thirties you're like, you get a job at Starbucks and you pay your fucking rent, and it's kind of this. You're like, yeah, you have mountain lady, like live your life, raise your kids in the natural way all this, but you're also like, oh, I don't know, you you're in serious debt. You need to start finding something like and there and not victim and blaming in any way, because it's obviously, you know, she fell into a hole that her husband had already dug and she stuck there and all of this, but it is like, a you haven't come up with any ideas.
Julia is what we call sovereign citizen. Emily, and luckily for her, there is a Daddy Warbucks that is just just. There exactly the right time, thank. God, dropped right into her life. Yeah.
Yeah, that's that's the true romance of it. Well, and I mean, let's talk about the title of this before we jump into the list. This is the worst title for this. I hate the title of this movie. Romance.
It's like, could you be more bland? Right, Andy, you I think you had the best suggestion. Right, I'm talking about this Christmas Stranger story that the little daughter was always talking about and we never found out what the actual story is. Yeah, it's just there's a stranger at Christmas. So Christmas Stranger would have worked the mountain Christmas, Christmas in the mountains, Christmas on a mountain, Christmas above the mountains.
A million other ways to. Get to my heart, to my heart, Yeah, a lot. Of ways to improve the title. But uh, that being said, let's dive in because again this is free Hallmark, free formula. But there's still struggle.
This is one more thing that please to me. Yeah, gregor uh, what's his name, Brian? He kept keeps asking about what happened to your husband? What happened to your husband? Since he has no boundaries.
Yes, And when it's finally revealed what happens, you know, he got drunk and crashed into his motorcycle into a call and then she tells a story about how she had to pay a settlement and all these medical bills and funeral work. Ship that's when he chooses to make a move on her and kiss her. Oh my god, right after her tongue was story and I was thinking, does he have like a trauma fetish or something? Yeah, I feel like this man just hasn't really Like even though Olivia Newton John makes a very insulting joke about city people having psychiatrists, I don't think this man has ever been in therapy because clearly he's got a lot of of like layered walls in front of his heart, right like you yeah, like you get like little tidbit of of him kind of being very bitter about different things.
So the idea that this woman has been through this very very like visceral emotional thing really turns him on. And I think it's a way of like, oh, she's lived a life I haven't been able to tap into. Yeah, And I think he sees everything as contractual, like yeah, because it really stuck out to me, Oh god. Yes, yes, yeah. So now the first thing is our lead in need of a Usually again it kind of sometimes it rotates, it's the man who needs the lesson, the man or the woman.
But I still Julia needed to need some growth here, right. Yeah, I think so. Yeah, I would say that she is really angry and I can't blame her. Well, but she spent two years since the death of her husband. She clearly yeah, not over it now.
And the opening gives a very specific like view of she had a job, right she was, I guess, like a bookkeeper accountant for this company in town. And I like how they open it because they open it very specifically on her, like she's been fired, but she's doing everything she can to make sure like her boss and the company is okay. Where most people like you're fired, like you might walk out and be like, well then fuck you, Merry Christmas. She's like, okay, here's you have to remember to do this, this, this, and don't forget the checkbook is here. Where it's this very like endearing.
Oh she's a good person. Canadians, Yeah, yeah, Canadian Australians totally. Yeah. So now the Bland love interest, Brian, who obviously we've we've had a lot, a lot to say here, uh there now, Oh the other part of the wall he had right was like, I guess he also wanted to be an artist deep down. Yeah, he's he can draw, and she was like trying to encourage that out and he's kind of like, what for it's money?
She in the garbage and he was like, it's a hobby, not a profession. And she was like, you can sell those, and I was like, ath was drawing, but. Like five dollars the equivalent of ten ninety. Three, you know, good artist, and nobody's buying those sketches. Well, nobody's buying her for bread either.
Package. Yeah. I don't want to cook somebody's arts, but if you're allowed, yeah, oh yeah yeah, character and. The whole like, I'm sure you you we are all animal people on this call. So when he was very like, well I didn't have animals growing up because my mother thought they were dirty and I went to prep school, was again this like oh, very specific view of this, Like he had a very like sad but rich childhood.
I guess he's like the perfect poor little rich boy. Yeah yeah, all right. So our setting big bad city, charming, small town, magical, winter wonderland. In this case, we kind of get the first two, I guess, because we get like tidbits of the big bad city, whatever city this is right? Where do we have any inkling of where they are.
Now in Canada? Well that's where they filmed it. Oh they're trying to make it off, but pawn it off as an America at all. Yeah, but close enough to Appalachia somewhere. Yeah.
I was thinking like this is like I have family in Core, West Virginia, which is this teeniest, tiniest town that doesn't have its own post office, about twenty minutes away from Morgantown, West Virginia. So in my head I had decided this is taking place in Morgantown was the city, and Core is the mountain. There you go. That's never say right, there's well on the they do say Nova Scotia on the. Oh good, good spotting.
Remember that Canadian? Yeah, impressive, well done, Freddy, well done. She didn't kill her co workers when they fired her Canada because Canada. Yeah, they're nice. They have to be polite about it.
So number four is either a dead parents or dead wife. In this case the dead dad and a dead husband. Motorcycles man look out for motorcycles. Now that's something that we still The dead parents is a hallmark of the hallmark genre, right, Most of these movies have a dead parent as a way to kind of immediately give you sympathy and everything else. But what is so shocking is that they tell you how he died.
Because even like movie stained. The most they'll say as well, when mom got sick, right, they will never say it was cancer. They'll never say it was a car accident. It's never a stroke a hardtack no, no, no, no, it's. Just I'm this mom.
Yeah. So it's weird to hear, like the grizzly details and illegal remediations. Yes, and for it to be so dark, yeah, yeah, but I think they had to. They had to make Felicity suck, and they had to make the dead husband suck so that they're not true rivals. That excellent point.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you want little Emily Rose to forget her father and accept a new father. Because they she still believes that daddy's coming home, he's coming back. She the mother really never really told her that she did. She did, she says she did, but we don't see her say it. Yes, Daddy's not coming home, And.
The little girl at a certain point is like, well I know that, but does mom now because I don't know? Yeah, I got the feeling I got is that Like Julia said it a lot the first year and got tired of her daughter just refusing to understand it that she's that Now when the little girls like Daddy's coming up for Christmas, right, Julia doesn't even bother because she's just tired of saying no, he's dead, he's dead, like the seat of Jackie on the phone and Roseanne, I know you guys know what I'm saying, Like she just gave up. You said hi. Yeah. But that so it's like sometimes it is one of those things where and like you've also all had this at work, probably in some way where you keep making a point over and over again and nobody seems to listen to it, and then then it happens and somebody else says it and everybody's like, oh yeah, why didn't anybody say it?
I feel like that was a little bit of also Emily Rose's kind of dismissal over her mother. I used to use the calm room, and that would happen. You had a calm room. Is that like an anger room where you's like padded walls, or is there like a pinball machine? It just sucks.
It's just a room with a desk in it. It's just so you can get away from people freaking out, a place to go be calm. It was a real high stress place. Yeah, yeah, that's true. You have to have the place with the sound proof at least, no.
Like a therapy dog in there or something or baby Lamb. Which man, I wish they had done those puppies workplace therapeutic puppies that had been amazing, Right. Yeah, those should just come with any building with more than ten people, there should be a therapy dog in there. Yeah. I agree, they tried.
They tried with the room a box of tissues in there if you want to cry. All right, So number five is the sassy sidekick, which we don't especially. That's fair. That's fair both of them, maybe, So. Do you you know what that's fair because Deani is kind of like the like chief number two in the household Deanie.
Yeah, Deanie played. By that is Olivia Newton John's real daughter. How cute and something else and I know I can't remember what it was. So Deani had a career. She went on to I think she also does like music stuff.
But she is in Charcnado five. She played kid in the Living Room and another Christmas movie, so she didn't do a lot of kid acting. But I think she kind of is like come back in and out here and there. Good for her. Yeah, yeah, she At first.
I was like, oh, she's got some stiff line readings. But then like quickly, I'm like, oh no, that's that's how this kid talks. So I was okay with her. It felt like they worked together. I mean like she and her mom maybe worked together on their dialogue.
It was really I thought, yeah, like you said, as the movie progressed, I don't know what order it was shot in, but she really did. Yeah, she felt and they felt like a family. Yeah. I thought the chemistry I thought the girl playing Emily Rose, I thought was actually like a very natural child actor, like I believed her. She's younger, so it's really more like just be a kid and say the lines.
We need to close enough to the lines, and we got it. This is just a backdoor sequel. I'm her prequel to the Exorcism of Emily Rose. Oh my god. I wondered that the entire time.
I was trying to do the math and figure out could this be the Emily. Rose's close to the right age I think. I mean, Emily Rose was like ninety seven, thin, can I eight? She's supposed to be a teenager, right. And this girl is like five, So okay, she's a little young, but I mean you always age him up so you can get an older actor to play it because of like child rules and everything.
So it made perfect sence that, yes, this is this girl would go on to be pssessed by the devil or is. She the Christmas Stranger Christmas? Oh my god, she's like inviting it in if like a Ouiji board, Right, she's leaving this chair out for a ghost to come. Oh shit, Yeah, okay, good sequel, We got it all right. Number six is our.
Villain the economy? Oh I like that. Capitalism. Yeah, that works, capitalism, that's right. I think.
So, I think there's one more that means a like element of capitalism. I guess he is the villain because he pres but he's just a messenger. Really, the bank is. The bank is the villain. There's somebody else that's in the way of happiness.
Felicity. Felicity's villain though, I mean, she can't even boil an egg. Oh that's that's as bad as pretty damn behavior like you there. I think we're on the third level of hell is women who can't cook and Dante's Inferno. So, but that is a pretty big red flag that you can't boil an egg.
I'm not quite sure how to. I know because I hate hard boiling eggs and I love to cook. So here's a pressure cooker to do it. I'm always afraid that's going to like explode or smell like eggs. Works great appeal for some weeks.
That's something I don't know what the science is, but it makes the eggs easier to peel. How long do you put it? Do you put them in there with water? Five minutes with water five minutes. Like filled covering the water.
The water's gonna cover. Them just enough to create steam in your pressure cooker. If you have an instant pot, it's like five against the pot with like a couple of cups of water and like a dozen eggs. Okay, is it a quick release or or you. Let it a quick release?
And the part is you have an ice bath waiting if you don't want Yeah. It seems like much worthy ice path. It's so easier, and you think, mmmm, it's just ice in a bowl some water. It feels like I'm stressing my ice maker for like for an egg of ice spark smart Yeah, like no, I want a boiled egg, all right. Number seven is our montage, which we don't get nearly enough of in this movie.
No, not really. I know when you said that, Emily, you were hoping for more montage and I couldn't think of a single montage. No okake in the beginning, ye yeah. I mean like the openings, like the credits are sort of like a slide show of pictures with like little Christmas digital frames around them, and that was like, oh, okay, this is what we're doing, and then it just goes away. Like at one point he's chopping wood, and it felt like it was going to be like a montage of him doing outdoors things and failing, but no, it's just him.
Like the Christmas tree and the Christmas decoration. It's not you think it's going to be a montage. You think it's going to be a cut of the little girl laughing, a cut of him struggling, a cut of somebody falling in the snow. But instead it's just like a long shot of him chopping a tree down and the little girl being like, you have to do this, and then that's it. He doesn't I think they.
I bet you the director was like, this allows it to breathe and show him recapturing the joy of simple deeds. But you know what, I don't think the tone of this movie need had. That's fair. This was a pretty dark Christmas movie. Yeah, that's fair.
They were going for this sort of like grounded. Yeah montage, you thinking, Wacky's any What song would you put in the montage in this movie if you were given one, Elvis Presley, I would. I mean you got to go to the public domain. Well, which this movie doesn't do nearly enough, but like so it would just be probably, oh, oh Christmas Tree, like played like a mountain man style, Like if you feel like, oh, it's like a country I'm playing on Christmas Tree, That's what I would do it. Yeah.
Right. Eight is slapstick, which a little bit when he's kind of in the crash and she's trying to get him in bed. Yeah yeah, that's just about it. Pants off, yeah yeah, yeah, him just stumbling around with the cheeto room, but that's not very slaps Yeah. That's about as much as we get.
Uh So, Nine is kind of we don't we get a sage old person here, and that's one of the most important things of these movies. It's rare to not have the old person giving some form of wisdom to those around them. Yeah, so much of the movie is spent with just them stuck in that. You know, there is an old Vet that sort of figures in a little bit at the beginning, and he. Does bring alcohol, which loosens everybody up in a way where Ryan kind of figures things out because of it.
So, right then the Best Seal Brothers is that what they were called again, the bet steal brothers. They feel like they would have fulfilled that function, but they saved them in till they had him at the beginning and then at the end. Yeah, and they just drink. So I feel like maybe they were supposed to say something, but then like couldn't. They couldn't get the shot, They couldn't get their line straight enough for them to actually contribute.
Yeah, that makes sense. And sadly we do not have a Santa Claus in this movie. No, Yeah, disappointing. Like an actual Santa Clause or a metaphorical one, because he was way presence at the end. This is true, and presumably a big check to buy the house.
He didn't talk about how disappointed the kids were with their recycled gifts that they got. She couldn't get their gifts because of the snowstorm. Yeah, and she tells them that Santa Claus couldn't get through because of the snowstorm, which Santa is a magical being, ma'am. But these kids, again, they don't talk to anybody else, so they probably just believe whatever she says. Whatever.
She could have a whole cult going on. Another darker version of this is like what because presumably her and Brian might pop out a few more kids, and now they have a whole society of like this very very isolated clan. Yeah, it could turn into like a Hellbender situation too. Why not. I'm a drum kit, all right.
So even though it's ninety it's ninety four. We have some of the tropes, but not all of them. So let's see how all of the bonus rounds add up. The first thing being all of the music, which is usually a mix of public domain holiday songs and like pop songs that nobody's ever heard that are just a bunch of words about Christmas in winter. This being nineteen ninety four, they hadn't figured out yet that you can use public domain holiday songs.
We don't get that many of them in here eat a few. Well there was at the end when they're singing having their moonshine and their Christmas and they sing good King Wench's Loss. And they all know the words. It was an odd choice. What pick?
And all the kids knew the words too, Yeah, Christmas in the early nineteen hundreds or something, right, like. These men are. It's like the way we used to remember people's phone numbers, right, and you could still rattle it off, and you had like probably like a dozen seven digit phone numbers in your head at all times. I guess that's what our brains were being used for. Was also to know the words to one of the more obscure lyrical Christmas songs in history.
Yeah, but they just just sing jingle bells or wish you Merry Christmas. They're very But the implication is that the dad and her raised the kids in these old traditions, right, because she knows how to cook without electricity, Brian wants sort of turn her house into a cultural center. Well, they did things without electricity, so they're just old fashioned that way, sure. The old fashioned. Could you guys know, do you guys know any of the lyrics?
Besides I know the first line. King wenshall LUs went down on the Feast of Stevens. That's all I know. Yeah, that's right, I knew of Stevens. Yeah, that's it.
King break it down for me. Now, King winches Slass he went out, it's like Worcesterster. Sure, oh completely, Yeah. It's difficult, that's what I'm saying. I agreed, And yet they know again, I guess they have nothing else to do.
Like that little girl was five and she could read pretty well for a five year old. Yeah, so, I mean I guess like went in doubt, like she was just like reading the lyrics or good King Wenchelslaus. Yeah, but I'm just wandering, like, does Brian know what he's in for? Really? Oh God no, no, because you're.
Gonna hook up with this lady with two kids that singh timey Christmas song. He did a good job chopping wood. I mean like he looked like he was comfortable. I pray for him. I think he just always wanted animals, That's my theory.
He wanted pets and suddenly realized, like I could have I could have a lamb named after me. Up here, I have a lamb named after me. I am I now live here, dude. Farm animals are a powerful force on unanimals. I mean there so baby farm animals come on, baby lamb suits.
I don't know. Lambs and sheep and stuff like that. But when the they pulled the baby out of the woman the mama sheep, was it really clean to you? Oh? Moored a little bit of red on it.
Or something? You were disappointed by the lack of a fluvia. You wanted the amniotic sac stating Olivia Newton John's. Outfit Christmas story. I need more fluid in my Christmas movie.
All right, So next is our secret family recipe. Sometimes that also involves needlessly complicated holiday cocktails. Sometimes we have a lot of hot chocolate that's used as a sexual metaphor. I don't think we have hot chocolate here. I think the only we get a recipe and then we get the secret to the recipe.
Right, the bourbon the bourbon, right, but. The bourbons for the Catholics and Episcopalians. Theory. You have seriously look for it. When you start watching the Hallmark movies, you will see it.
It's always used to like, not an aphrodisiac. It's more like when characters talk about hot chocolate or habit. There's like this is as sexy as we can get. In a TVG. Is that how it feels when I moving homemade hot chocolate?
Yes, made hot chocolate. I make it from scratch. I love I make good hot chocolate. I never like hot chocolate as much as I I think I'm going to. Yeah, like I always think like, oh, like I see it, you smell it, it feels like this, and then you take like two SIPs and you're like, that's a lot of chocolate.
Liquid going down. A lot. That's why we have marijuana. To build up that appetite. N's all right, So small business in danger.
I mean we have a small farm in Is she making any money off of this farm? Oh? No, I think she's just. Seems like an off the grid type. I mean they have a dunk, they have sheep, she's milking cows.
Oh yeah, she's got what I think is that just their family milk? Yeah? Probably. Why do you keep a pig if you're not going to eat it? You know what I mean, like like domesticated animal.
It's oh my god. And speak So, first of all, I can say two things about pigs. One, pigs actually do make good pets. My brother has a giant pig. They're very friendly and they're very smart.
I'm told. The other thing, did you guys catch one of like the opening of this movie when she goes to the general store to give out some of the pound cake and the old guy has finished a joke about a pig. Oh no, oh my god, it's like a joke of like I know that joke. It's a joke about a guy who has a three legged pig. And so he's got this three legged pig and one day he's like in town three legged pig, and the neighbor looks at him.
He's like, hey, hey, Gil, why does your pig only have three legs? And Gil's like, oh my god, this pig is the greatest creature. My family as ever had a pet, this pig. One day we went to sleep, the pig started like running around the whole house oinking, oinking. Made us get out of bed.
Why because the house was on fire. It saved our lives. Well, I mean, okay, this crat. So did the pig lose the lose his leg and the fire? Oh god, no, no, no, no, no, no, okay, So why does he have to be like, oh my god, this pig.
Let me tell you another thing about this pig. One day I was driving, I had the pig in the car, and the pig just started running in circles and freaking out. I didn't know what to do, so I pulled over and as soon as I did, my tire popped. And you know, if I had stayed on the road and that would have happened, we would have been dead. Oh my god, is the is that pig?
Okay? Like, did you guys crash into something? Is that how we lost his leg? No? No, a pig like this you don't eat all at once.
And that's how the it opens. It opens the opening line of this movie. One of them is a pig like this you don't need all at once. That's the start of that joke. Yeah.
See, I was like, if I had a pig as a pet, I would have it indoors with me, not out in with the lamb. You can try, but they're very big and they can open refrigerators on their own. Yeah, that's the problem my brother has had with his pick. All right, get his own food. Yeah, I'm glad that went to it can more wholesome direction because when you think of like a far man would joke you always think of, you know, oh.
The other kind of joke. I'm like, I don't know. Eating the Pig is kind of a dark. Place, but it's not as dark as the. True True.
There you go, all right, it's the number four ist product placement. I mean, we get Olivia Newton John's own song in the movie True. Yeah, that's something. No. I didn't think it was bad not great either.
It's not great. It's it's not the it's not physical, but it's not up there. It's fine. It's there, it's there. It's perfectly gromulent Christmas song.
If you've run out of other Christmas songs, this will do, all right. It's again before they realize they would have just rated like the CD well they ninety four. We were on CDs in ninety four, right, and we weren't doing tapes. Yeah. My theory is that there's like a CD bin at like Hallmark in Lifetime, and so when they need, like I don't know, go find some pop music for Christmas, all right, and they go and there's like a dollar bin that they've collected over the years from like local shops and places where nobody care, and they're like, yeah, this one's not copyrighted.
Use it. Our friend mcgreiner has written some music for Hallmark Ken. Yeah, they bought some of his songs and used them like think on repeat, like in The White Bets. I might need to get in touch with this person and talk to them and learn everything about them because I'm obsessed with that. Yeah, all right.
So number five is the cloying Child. Again, we have two kids in this movie. I think we all kind of liked. Them, Yeah I did. We're not obnoxious.
They were a little precocious. Yeah, but I guess they kind of had to be so yeah, all right. So six is finding the perfect tree. Which they did, but they did yeah, yeah, yeah they. Might audgery was perfect.
I don't know, it's a tree, that's true. Job number seven, which is my favorite, but this is again early before they figured out that they didn't have to put liquid in cups in order to act as if they were drinking them, because the empty coffee cup acting is my favorite thing that comes up in Hallmark movies. But in this case, like I feel like, no, they're all like eating and drinking on camera. Empty coffee cup acting. Look for it.
Again along with the hot chocolate empty sometimes it's empty hot chocolate acting, but just empty cup acting is a very very big thing that you'll see in these movies. I always notice it. I always my eyes are always drawn to it because I can tell. Yeah, there's weight to a drink, right, if I pick up a cup, it's I know how to like how much force to use when doing it. The stuff inside causes some physical movement too, you know, like a level.
Yeah, like I should immediately be like, oh wait, let me hold it this way? LIU this cup for production of a Christmas Room Vance movies. I like this. I like this. You get some kind of like jelly like under plastic that sort of moves as if it's liquid.
Yeah. Yeah, man, so we need okay, trademark. Trademark, biggest thing since the. Number eight. Actors trying hard not to actually eat on camera.
So there is a scene where dinner is served right where yeah it's carrots, and the little girl doesn't want to eat the carrots. And I've said in my head, well, I wouldn't eat the carrots either, because Olivia Newton John didn't peel those carrots before she chopped them. Uh dirt just like chopping carrots. She didn't peel them. You could see the ribs on the carrots and like the gray dirt on there, like it's disgusting.
I do you, Emily, because you're a big city gal. You don't understand that the dirt is actually what keeps me alive. That's what I don't need. I don't need no vaccine. I just need some dirt.
Carrot. Keep your milliner moral levels up? Do you scrub your. Ca care to day? Do I peel them?
Yeah? I think I don't have to scrub them if I peel them. Oh, if you peel them, you don't have to. Yeah. But the other way, I think Olivia Newton John might die early in this movie.
In the beginning of this movie, when they are delivering the five dollars ten dollars ninety three cent pound cake to the people in town and the first like visit, like the girl comes back with cash and she gives it to Olivia Newton John who's driving. Olivia Newton John. Did you see what she did with this money? You put it in her mouth? She put it in her mouth.
She did that? Oh my god, Yeah, that didn't even occur to me, right, Now why does she do is she has to get to see if it's real. Well, no, like she's driving so okay buckets. If Brian had seen that, he would have bailed down the whole situation. Oh god, Like, I mean what we know, like shoelaces and money are the two dirtiest things in the world because think of how many things they touch.
Yeah, nasty. Like I am not a germophobe, but that is that if I touch a dollar bill, I then have to like sanitize my. Hands where that's been for a very long time. I would wash my hands like every hour in the in the the. And that's why we're still alive.
Yeah, the water it would be dark like dark waters. You're telling me that living John basically kissed the strippers butthole. Yep essentially yeah yeah yep, or like hast some cook residue. Yeah, she got real. Hopefully that's what protected her.
Yeah, all right, So number nine it's canadianisms. So this was again as Freddy Kott definitely filmed in Nova Scosh or at least like that's the nearest letterhead they had. I guess, yeah, the letterhead sells. It helped true. I was gonna say, because the next thing is the warm weather watch because usually these movies are not filmed in winter.
They are filmed somewhere on a lot in Atlanta. But this one did feel like, no, this that's real. Yeah, it felt real. Yeah. Play the snow on the ground, yeah yeah, the way they walked and it seemed slick.
There was a moment when she at the beginning of the movie when it was snowing, but there was no actual snow hitting her, so you could tell that they were just putting the snow and like her. Hair wasn't like her hair, her bangs were still perfectly puffed. Yes, right, so that that was the land. And I'm like, you're just putting the snow in. Front of the end.
Yeah, you're just blowing something on them, but it's not going to melt on her hair. Yeah, all right. So then a lot of times we have older characters that like are working really hard to match make our lead characters. In this case, you don't really have that kind of have the daughter who seems to want this guy as her daddy. But again that's another movie, another genre for another network perhaps.
And then yeah, last is the fashion because usually we have like great pea coats in these movies. Now it's again ninety four pea coats weren't like back and stuff. I feel like old Navy brought them back in later nineties, so they weren't. They're not really prominent here and Oliving Newton. John's dressing very like practical for mountain life.
So do anything stand out to you in the fashion. I have a long camel wool trench which is just so city boy. Boy and your parent with that uh that hat and the father's boots. So it it's the melding of both worlds, the city and the country. I like that there is a story being told by the costume designer in this movie.
Yeah. I agree they're trying. They're combining the old ways in the new ways in one character. But yeah, the fact this was this is people live on the mountain. There's to be seen.
Greg looked like someone from a warby Parker Head. Yeah. Well, and the glasses were a big part of him too, right because they break so we can't see and then he's it makes him as soon as he takes them off and then takes his shirt off, he looks like, oh no, he's not as dorky as a little girl keeps saying, it's. Like, what was that movie where Superman? If you take your put your hair down, take your glasses off, now you're sexy.
Take all that, get your glass he's all that, Yes, right right now. She has a ponytail and glasses. I know this is the due version totally. No. So overall, would you recommend your Christmas Romance?
What were your kind of final thoughts on it? It's a weird one for me. I don't know if you would recommend it. It's because I like the formula. I like the Hallmark formula that as they've refined it to now, this is just not that.
And I didn't think that the characters developed enough for me to believe their love story. That's just me, y'all. That's fair, mh. I would because a my question on your hairston. Exactly, and it kind of goes against the grain of what you think a Hallmark movie is.
And I did like the horror beats. And the movie that you made in your mind. While watch it, there's a scene where they're talking about how during Christmas at midnight, the animals talk to each other and they go to the barn at midnight and there's all these quick cuts. Okay, thank you for saying this. I forgot about it.
There's all these cuts of the family laughing moniacally. It is really weird, and like. Oh, yeah, I got that still from Yeah, Oliviyton John has this crazy look on her face and all the kids and Brian are. Just cackling away. It felt like Texas chainsawm yeah, or the end of Midsommer.
Yeah, what was happening in that scene? I forgot about that because I assumed it was going to be revealed that Brian had like was doing something to make those sounds happen. But then I'm watching it, I'm like, he doesn't have access to like he's not the guy from police Academy, and he doesn't seem to have a recorder anywhere, Like, what is what? What's happening there? What's the thing?
The wheel with the animals on you have when you're a kid and you pull the string and it makes the noise. The talking thing, yeah, talking has the buttons on where you can write you're talking about that was speaking? Spell speaking? You type it in and it repeats the word it would It had something like that. It was like barking chirp.
I don't remember exactly, but everyone, I think everyone had this toy after a certain. And these kids didn't. They lived on a mountain, their toy, the toy and porcelain doll. They had the real thing though. Have talked, and that.
Might actually be what was going on was the haunted doll was animating the But yeah, what the hell was that? Thank you for mentioning it. I just assumed it would be explained or come back, and it never did. So I'm reckoning them recommending the movie in the movie in my head, so I don't know if that's there. Yes, but I had a good time with it.
Yeah, Freddy, how about you? I agreed with Andy in a lot of ways about this. I recommend it, but only in as much as I would also recommend like a holiday fire place. Okay, in that it does. It hits the spot for atmosphere.
The acting is good enough, Yeah, everything's good enough just to feel cozy. Then the cabin's cozy as hell. Cabin's pretty cozy. Yeah, there's a lot of candles. Yeah, it looks like they're eating soup at one pointing.
Yeah, yeah, I'll never revisit it like I'm craving. Guys, can we like watch a Christmas Romance next week? Emily? It's been eight times? Are you sure you're not done with it?
You know? I just want to see the part with the talking animals again and see if I can understand why the fuck the animals are talking in this movie, in this one moment. Watch it's one of the unanswered uh tales, like the Christmas Stranger. We don't know why the animals talk, you know, the Christmas Stranger is maybe for the sequel, we're going to. Find out what if?
Like he was never meant to be the Christmas Stranger a right, and part two it's like, no, here's the real Christmas Stranger, and it's the Dad coming back from the dead. And he's like that kid in Terrifyer where he's just at the at the head or Terrified where he's at the head of the table, the bluish grayish dead body just sitting at the dining. Room table where you haven't seen it, but I like it. Oh, watch it. It's scary when you're done with Christmas movies, all right.
Like he was buried in the pet cemetery along with Daisy Sheep and they both come back. They both come back. Yeah, I like it. It's not the clown Terrifier movie. It's just Terrified.
Oh, I can picture the It's Argentinian. Yep. Okay. It was on the list of like scariest movies on the Shutter thing that they did a couple of years ago, and it was one of the feet that I hadn't seen. So I keep meaning to get to it.
I haven't yet. It's a good one. It's scary, but it's just the idea of a body sitting at a dining room table. Can you say that that's exactly what I think of? Okay, I like it because I think I'm not sure how I feel like this movie.
Again, it's better made in some ways. It is feels like a movie. It has actors, but it also is so weirdly plotted and it's working to get to romance. It doesn't really make make sense when you actually watch it, but there is something interesting about it being ninety four and all of that. But more importantly, I feel like it was made so that you could sit down and watch this and then watch Terrified or Terrifier and then have a double bill.
So I'm sure they weren't intending that in nineteen ninety four, but I'm glad it all worked out for all of us. You're right, you know? Yeah? All right? Well, where can everybody listening if they don't already listen to you guys?
