Wake Up Heavy is a weirding Way media podcast. Reluctant dreamer. Welcome to Wake Up Heavy, the world's greatest horror movie podcast. On this episode, my weird dad and I will be talking about. Hello and welcome back to Wake Up Heavy.
This is Mark Begley, your host. Joining me as usual. Is by. Cleo, who never says her name, so I have to. Yep, well, come on, it's like the thing now.
Sure, and we are diving into our penultimate Twin Peaks episode. I was going to say Twin Peaks of Return, but we started with the original series and Firewalk with me, so I caught myself and we are onto episodes thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen and things are starting to wrap up here. You can feel that in these episodes we just have three more to go. Hopefully we get to them before Cleo starts back at school. Yeah is pretty soon.
If we don't, the last episode might not come out until winter break. But we'll see. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see if we get it done before she starts back and or before winter break when we have I don't know, some free time somewhere. Episode thirteen starts off with a bang.
We've got the Mitchen brothers dancing Dougie back to his office after their night of revelry. They're in a little congo line with the girls too. With the girls of course, and some crazy music going. I think it was two times speed. There's no way.
Thought music was insane. I thought I had hit the two times speed on our player and was like, what is going on with this music? They weren't moving in two time speed, but the music, the music is insane. It was kind of awesome though some kind of weird video game anyway, very odd. Mitchen brothers of course, are super super happy, and they bestow gifts on Bushnell and Dougie and which makes janeye E even happier than ever.
When they bring Sunny Jim a backyard gym naseum. Which the cut to that also is awesome. Him playing in the backyard is amazing. Got a spotlight going, this lit up art, there's lights all over the gym, his trampoline having a ball going in a little loop there goes from the gym to the trampoline back to the gym. Lots of fun.
Of course, the Mitchen brothers love Dougie now and that will keep coming into play. As we move on. Oh yeah, and a BMW for Bush now and a BMW for Dougie and all this other stuff. I kind of think that probably an insurance company shouldn't take gifts from a client. But I don't know.
But that's just me being realistic and stuff. It's fine, it's fine. In the meantime, we've got Evil Coop, well not Andray. Evil Coop going to Montana to basically find Ray because he still needs those coordinates, which I'm a little confused about unless the coordinates include other spots other than Twin Peaks. I mean, he should know about Twin Peaks.
He emerged in Twin Peaks. He's been to Twin Peaks as Evil Coop did some horrible stuff you haven't totally gotten to in Twin Peaks. But still he left. Yeah, I don't know. I don't get it.
Maybe the coordinates are just a specific area of Twin Peaks that he doesn't know. Even then, I think it's Jack Rabbit's Palace, I'm assuming. Yeah, which doesn't seem to be widely known, right other than like Bobby and his dad, Because. The other spot, it seems like everybody knew where, you know, the curtains would appear. Hawk has seen the old Sheriff Truman had seen.
Yeah, Doc Hayward had seen. Yeah, a lot of people saw the Black Lodge entrance, or at least that one. I guess maybe that's it. It's this Jack Rabbits palace area that he's not familiar with. Yeah, he does find Ray hold up with this gang and they.
Have an awesome giant TV too huge. It's I don't know how many inch screen that they watch this stuff on. Very oddly set up. I love it. It's so weird.
It's so weird. They're all just standing in front of it. It's like in the garage where Evil Coop enters, or like the camera is. It's just so weird, Like, oh, okay, I. Don't know why you would have one giant screen and not a like set of yeah, like a clar screen.
Yeah, but whatever, you know, tucking reality here and the same reality. And this is Twin Peaks. Evil Coop has to fight the main boss there and if he wins, not fight arm wrestle. If he wins, he becomes the boss. He doesn't want to become the boss, he just wants Ray.
Of course he does win, and I love that whole arm wrestling scene with the keep hurt my arm when you put it down here. It's so much more comfortable right here, and those. Guarding positions more comfortable. It hurt my arm when you moved it down here, but it really hurt when you had it down here. Just being mean to him, like that's fun, you know, because they think they're hot stuff.
Yeah, And he's like, well, no, actually you're stupid. And then he ends up winning the fight and he also immediately caves in the guy's head by punching. Him just the dude's face in. Yeah, it like folds in on itself because he loves it so hard. Still up a chair, He didn't even have time to get up.
He was just in the chair. Horror fans will be familiar with that guy. Derick Mears. He plays Jason Vorhees in the two thousand and nine remake of Friday the Thirteenth, among other things. Uh, let's see what do we get.
We get the information that Coop has been after from Ray. He gets the coordinates and also finds out about the hit that quote unquote Philip Jefferies put on Evil Coop. Yeah, quote Philip. Some information about where Philip Jefferies is the Dutchman's. We also see more of the ring.
Yes, Ray has it, he puts it on, and then once Coop kills him, it disappears. And then Ray also just like is in the Black Lodge. I believe that's what the ring does. Yeah, it like transports to the Black Lodge or out of it. And then I'm assuming who.
Did he say gave it to him? I've forgotten that. Now? How did Ray get the ring? Oh no, I don't remember.
Oh no, if any of you guys know, let us know somehow. He mentions it though, and I didn't write that down for some reason, And now I don't have any memory of that. Who gave it to you? Ah? Guard?
No, he is dressed as a guard. I never seen it before. What else we got going on in Las Vegas? We've got the cops dismissing, Oh I remember. Go ahead, he I think, Cooper asked.
He's just like, I don't know, like a guard at the prison. Oh that's right, yes, yes he does. Prison guard. Yeah, just a random person. Who he didn't recognize.
So probably an agent of the Black Lodge. Possible, yeah, of Woodsman. Well, yeah, could have been something, but yeah, he's just like, I don't know. In Las Vegas, the Fusco brothers dismiss the fingerprint analysis of Dougie Jones because they know that there's no way he's an FBI agent and involved in murders because he's been in Las Vegas this whole time. Yeah, just throw it, and he's silly, there's.
No way, some kind of foul up has happened, and they throw it in the garbage. Ah, so close. Anthony, the foil at the insurance company that it's been involved in all of these mishandled claims, tries to kill Dougie again. He goes to the same police station and is like, hey, is this person here and they're like yeah, he's out back smoking. And then he just goes out there and he's like, Hey, what poison should I use to kill this guy?
And it's one of the detectives and he's like hmm and tells him and I think gives like supplies it to him. Yeah, he buys it from him. So it's just like, oh, okay. The whole thing is all of these people are, including that mister Todd guy, our Patrick Fischler has fingers in all of these pies. Yeah, everywhere Las Vegas.
So there are dirty cops and Anthony goes to buy poison. I don't know why you would buy it from a cop, but yeah, I mean, obviously they're in on it together, but it's like kind of a weird person to be buying poison from. At the station. Also, I feel like you should have more of a different spot to go to. The other guy that was out there was in on it too.
Yeah, so whatever gets the poison and then is having morning coffee with doug the next day and can't go through with it. Dougie notices his andriff and starts massaging his shoulders on that for some reason makes Anthony break down. And it's like start sobbing, and it's just. Owns up to it. Dumps the coffee out on the urinal owns up to it with Bushnell and all of the claims that he has been erroneously denying or confirming, whichever way goes through this, I almost killed Dougie all this stuff.
Bushnell kind of lets him off the hook. Yeah, he's just like okay, not very convinced, but he doesn't do much. Anthony is no longer a threat, so that's been taken care of. Yay. Mister Todd has failed and all of his attempts to get Dougie killed, and that'll come back to haunt him in a little bit.
We've got Hutch and Chantelle are fast food obsessed. They're so weird on. The road to Las Vegas and driving through Utah talk about the Mormons and all they can and can do and all that gets stuff well, constantly eating the food and junk. I love it. I will say, those burgers that they were eating, I was like.
I know, actually everything they eat is appealing to me. So I'm going I mean when I don't remember which episode now it was, it might have been this one where Shelley's like, ohhow make you a slice of pie, cherry pie and ice cream, and I was like, oh, that sounds so good. Oh, and Douggie gets another piece of pie at the place City bought the whole pie for the Mitchen brothers. And I want pie. Shelley tells Becky to come by and have pie and ice cream and whipped cream, and it sounds so good.
In Twin Peaks, we have Big Ed and Bobby and Norma together in the diner and I think this is the first mention of the franchising of The Double R. Yeah, and so her Norma's recent love interest. Yeah, business partner shows. Up and both I guess it. Is down trodden and I know Bobby.
When Walter, the business partner, I guess I'll just call him shows up. Ed's like, I guess we'll go to another table, and Bobby gets up in like two seconds. He's like, nope, I'm going We're going over there. Like, I just noticed how fast he got up and how awkward that scene was, and it made me laugh because he same position, poor Bobby and poor Ed. Yeah.
Yeah, I love the framing of this scene where she's talking to Walter over his shoulder. In the background, Ed is just sitting there the whole time and looking up occasionally and obviously very unhappy about this. But you know, he's still stuck with Nadine, So what can you do? Yeah, oh Nadine. Yeah, speaking of her, she and Jacoby meet up for the first time in years.
He sees his shovel in her display window and knocks on the door and they have an interesting little chat. Yeah, just too weird to. Sarah Palmer is watching an old boxing match on a loop in her house welcoming Lenny Mary's. We also noticed her ashtrays in the scene that are like filled. Her ashtrays have like two full packs of cigarette butts in them a piece, and there are like two or three.
Yeah, there's like a it's just gross and all of her alcohol. And that's what I called it, like a makeshift bar because it's just her like coffee table, but it's absolutely covered in sigarettes, ashtrays and just a bunch of alcohol. And she's watching, yeah, the looped boxing match. It's just weird. She's so weird.
Yeah, she's not in a good place. Basically at this point runs out of vodka. So when we see her next, she is headed to a bar. We go back to Audrey and pour sleepy Charlie. In this episode, it's.
Already late and I'm getting sleepy. We see them in all three of these episodes. The time we're done with our three episode arc here, they still have not left the Frickin' house. No. From episode twelve to episode fifteen, they are still in the house, arguing.
The reason they haven't left is that Audrey does not feel like herself. She doesn't know who she is or where she is again for me. This leads into the meta textual thing and Charlie says something to the effect of, do I need to write you out of the story? Yeah? He says, do I need to end your story.
In your story? Yeah? And that ominous as hell? Well, I think it goes to the she's not in fire Walk with me and she gets killed off in the original series and that may have been what was upsetting for her back then. Cherylyn Finn the actress, you have actress, her story was ended technically speaking in the original series.
You know some spooky things. It's like a purgatory meta purgatory. Yeah, and she can't leave You're right, she can't leave the house. She doesn't know who she is, which sucks. And we get an amazing musical performance at the end of this one.
Yeah the roadhouse, yess, which is what it's James. He sings his little song from was the first season of Is that by the second. Season with Maddie she's in the first season. Yeah, I don't remember. It feels first season to me.
Yeah to me too. So just you, I believe is his song? Yes, just awesome. We were watching it. I was like, well you know when they had musical performances.
I'm like, but you gotta put your own song. In it, like, come on right, And we don't end there at the roadhouse with the song. We end sadly, sadly with big Ed sitting alone in gas station eating soups and just just yeah, it's a bummer. Thanks David Lynch. What the heck, man, we're bumming me out.
Yeah. But I was so happy when James started singing and we were both like, well, what the heck. He needs two backup singers, he needs his ladies. And then it panned out and there was two women on stage with them singing, and we were like, this is perfect, It's all perfect. It was very good.
And the girl that he's interested in is brought to tears by his song. She's just crying over on her in her seat. Yeah. It was great, good. Good for James.
I hadn't really seen a whole lot of him. Yeah. So episode fourteen is this is where it sort of felt like we were starting to wind things up. Yeah, for sure, And it's kind of crazy. Some crazy stuff goes on here.
More stuff is revealed too, which I like Gordon. Gordon calls Lucy and talks to her, and she, of course like, you're still there. Well, I leave to go home, and. Yeah, I thought we went on vacation. We went to Bora Bora, and the cut back to his face and he's just on the home like with the most just like huh expression.
Ever so, and she's still talking. And then I think when she patches him through, she again explains it all to share Truman and he's like. Yeah, every time she has every time plane which line she's talking about, the one that's blinking blah blah blah. Yes, Lucy, we got it. Gordon finally gets the information about the diary pages and the two coopers, so they're making those connections finally, yes, thankfully.
At the same time, Albert explains the initial Blue Rose case to Tammy and it involved doppelgangers. Hmm, go figure. Who would have guessed. It was also a pretty interesting little story about them investigating a woman and then they entered her house or whatever, and there were two of her and they both just that well one of them got shot by the other. Is what I just said.
Doppelgangers. Yeah, but I'm just saying the story itself is interesting. What they were talking about yeah, two ladies. Yeah, and it's the same type of situation they one gets shot and then disappears. So she was probably wearing the al Cave ring, which I have since learned is its name or what it's called.
Yeah, got that same you know symbol as the markings on that cave and Cole Gordon Cole and Philip Jeffries were the arresting officers in that original Blue Rose case. And then as all this is going on that window washer office and is this going crazy? Oh my lord, that was bizarre. Yeah, like not even doing how you would squeege you a window, right, He's just going in like a circle basically, and it's so loud. Of course that sets off Gordon Cole's Yeah, his hearing aids.
It was so weird. And they are talking to Diane about the last time she saw Cooper, which she doesn't want to talk about, of course, but they're asking specifically about Major Briggs. Did he mention Briggs? And I think she says yeah, I think so. They bring up the ring finally that was found in Major Briggs's stomach, the inscription and the janey E and we find out that she and janey E are half sisters, which I didn't remember at all.
Also, yeah, insane. It's just so like, okay, what sure. I mean, it's one of those stretches for me and this whole thing, all these connections that get made. It's led to some theories that I mentioned while we were watching it. Yeah, Jane is actually a tulpa of Diane, which to me doesn't make sense of the show.
Is that tulpas and doppelgangers are exact duplicates or yeah, physically at least. Yeah, because Dougie's or you know, o G Dougie was. He looked different, but he was still well face wise and. Hair and wad and body weight, very but janey E doesn't look anything like. Those two actresses are similar but very very different, so very estranged.
They don't speak to each. Other, and it's like, yeah, I hate her. It is interesting though, that her half sister ended up with the Dougie. Yeah, that's what I'm curious about. So I don't know if that was arranged, or if we'll find out that was arranged, or if that has anything to do with anything other than total coincidence.
Yeah, I'm very curious. That was one of my first thoughts when that got revealed. I was like, so, is it pure coincidence that they got married or did something else happen there. I'm very curious about that, No idea. I don't know if we'll that'll be explaining.
Yeah, I guess we'll see. And then Gordon calls the Las Vegas branch of the FBI to start investigating the Joneses because they need to track them down. So luckily another connection has been made. We've got twin peaks with the diary. And he didn't mention the key though, which I find odd.
Yeah, Frank didn't mention the key to Gordon. This also showed up that would have been kind of maybe important a little bit. I don't know, Well, yeah, maybe it might come back, who knows. The Las Vegas branch of the FBI are going to try to look into the Joneses, and there are a bunch of dougie Joneses, and they bring the wrong ones in at at some point. But there is one of those very obvious nods to eraser Head in this scene with the I guess top FBI agent huh acting like the guy at the Eraser shop in eraser Head.
His movements and like voice is exactly the same as that, say, I loved. It, shaking his fist or whatever out of the fist. Yeah, yeah, okay. Paul I also giggled at that whole you need to find Dougie Jones and Janey E for us, and then I can't remember if it's or the other head of the Las Vegas department being like, you need to find that they wanted for like double homicides, Like that's their way of getting them into the office to make them wanted for non existent crime. And it's just so like out of bucket.
Yeah, I mean I think they're referring to whatever is going to be on the fingerprint, Yeah, because it's. All the same person. Yeah, it's going to have the same report. This is true. This is Gordon gives us a detail of his one of his Monica Balucci dream.
Yeah, I had another Monica Balucci dream. And so she shows up as herself in his dream. Awesome stuff. We were watching that and I was like, this would probably happen in one of my dreams. I'm like, oh yeah, and we kind of see real Cooper in that in his dream because he's not Dougie there in the dream.
He's like kind of faded into the dream. Yeah, that's real coop. I'd say, like the dream back. In Twin Peaks, they finally arrest Chad, thank god. Yay.
We were like cheering and had apparently been watching him, so they were aware of all this stuff that we were like, I mean, yeah, he's taking money, he's covering stuff up. Yeah, and we didn't mention that about Richard calling him to track down the mail. Yeah, that whole scenario because Miriam had sent the letter and so he did do that. But I believe Lucy it's not explicitly shown, but you know, she knew something was up, probably relay that information to them. But they also had him on the bribes and everything else.
Yeah. So Bobby Hawk, Truman, and Andy head out to Jack Rabbit's palace. Yeah, finally a little fun hike. They encounter one of those little pools of gunk. Vortex opens up on Nato is there.
NATO's there? Yeah, after some a big cloud of smoke. Yeah, I love that. I immediately think of Mohan Drive when all this smoke shows up in any of these scenes. Oh yeah, for sure, very reminiscent our Eyelis Gal from the White Lodge is ye.
They're laying on the ground and then Andy gets sucked into vortex and has a little chat with the fireman. When that scene happened, I just remember being like, was Andy the right person to pit? Not that they picked, but he does actually get everything across. He gets, yeah, the needed information across. Very proud of Andy for that.
He's the one that carries her out of there. They all lose time and lose memory and. Yeah, them fading back into their places. They're placed back at Jack Rabbit's palace. This tree stump.
It's cool. Andy comes walking out with Nato in his arms, and they get her back to the station and put her in one of the cells to keep her safe. Yeah, he kind of locks in for that whole thing because he's pretty serious too. It's like, we got to get her back. People are after her.
Good job, Andy, you did it. I think he understood what was happening with the Fireman aka the Giant Giant. I still call him the Giant. He calls himself the Fireman here to yea, so this is true, And we get some more James kind of a late character introduction with Freddie Sykes, who will be instrumental in this story. Oh, that's really funny.
It's kind of funny scene now seeing him show up and oh yeah, it's a big part in this. Okay, he's fun though. I like that character. Actually, he had an encounter with the Fireman as well, and that is why he is in Twin Peaks. He's British, he's he's very British.
I like that. He's James's little buddy too. At work, James is apparently a security guard at the Great Northern and they're at the tail end of their shift and Freddie he always is wearing a green glove, so he explains what that. Yeah, which we won't get into, but basically, this green glove, he can't take it off. He was advised by the fireman to get it, and it gives him superhuman strength.
Yeah, just in that one hand. In the beginning of that scene, he's cracking nuts open with it. Yeah, he's trying to crack the walnuts and they're exploding and so James does it with the regular nutcracker. That scene, I think, doesn't it lead to James also going back into the Great Northern. Yeah, he goes in to check on something and then here's that humming and I'm assuming it's related to the humming that Beverly was complaining about.
That's what I figured, just because it's also in the Great Northern. But he did they end up showing what it was or did it cut before he found it? It's behind a door. Somewhere, Okay, I want to know what it is. For a second there, I was thinking, oh, this has to do with Bob.
Oh, yeah, but I. Was confusing that with the basement of hospital, where, yeah, that alternate ending takes place, the alternate ending of the weird alternate where he's in the basement of the hospital and that's where they track him down, et cetera. But I'm like, oh, wait, no, that doesn't have anything to do with the Great Northern. So I'm not really sure what the humming. I don't remember what it is because it is now.
The third episode that it's been featured in, but this time we're on a different area where basically, yeah, we're below everything. I'm very curious. I'm just assuming it's connected because it's hum It didn't sound the same to me. But yeah, we've already heard humming in the Great Northern, just up on top in or Beverly's office. So I don't know, I don't know.
I guess we'll see, And we get Sarah Palmer Bean super super creepy and scary in this episode. Yeah, this is frightening, Like, actually, she's been weird already, but not this weird. She's on the lookout for booze because she has run out at home. It's late, so I don't think she's gonna I mean, she could hit up a gas station, yeah, for booze. But she ends up at a bar.
Some trucker or something starts harassing her and she basically bites his throat out. Yeah, she says the most like, yeah. I'm not going to repeat any of that here. Oh no, it's the worst thing you can call a woman. Face.
Yeah, it's pretty bad. She also opens her face up. She grabs her face and opens it like on a hinge, and there's a hand, well there's like smoke. There's a hand with one finger that's the ring finger is black, and then there's a little smiley face on that smiley face. It's just straight mouth and teeth smiling mouth.
Yeah, and then she closes it back up and it has to be like a higher frame rate and she rips his throat aisle. Definitely. It's terrifying the speed is. Played with when he falls on the ground, because I thought she had just kind of like did like a quote unquote normal bite. Half of his like neck skin is gone.
She took like a huge chunk out. She ripped him open, and the guy, the bartender is like with half his neck gone. Yeah, She's like, oh my god, he's dead. She starts acting she. Doesn't have any evidence of it on her No, there's no blood on her in her mouth, on her chin, on her clothes, so she kind of just plays it off like I don't know what happened.
She's like, oh my god, he just died, and he's the bartender's like what are you what? Poor dude having a normal night in his bar, and then this guy is missing a neck. Yeah, very frightening. I's scary, man, I don't like it. We've seen Laura do that, haven't we in the Black Lodge with her face.
Yeah, she opened her face like that, but I think wasn't there an orb in it or was it smoke? It was something, but it didn't result. Smoke in something. Yeah, But I'm just saying we have seen that on this show before we oh yeah, this happened. It's a special trick that the Palmer girls can do.
Horrifying because like also just imagining that happening like real life, ooh yuck, scary, scary. Also, Sarah Palmer's just so off putting that it's like even worse. Like either way, it's really interesting to me how she's portrayed in this. And we've kind of talked about it already. Obviously horrible things happened.
We've her got murdered. Her husband's the one that did it, kind of did it, but he did other stuff too, and then he dies and then. He was also drugging her and stuff. So like she's left with all of this. So I like that they show, yeah, that she's trauma can do, not like, oh she's all fine and great.
Yeah, and she powered through it and she's great now, instead of having her just be like a kooky old woman or something. Who yeah, trauma. It's like this really really messed her up. Yeah, and something's not right right. We do have music on this one.
I'm not familiar with this group, LISSI. Yeah, this song was fun. Yeah, it was a nice song, and then we get. It's nothing like James singing. Though.
We get two girls talking, which happens a lot in these Yeah and scenes, but they're talking about Billy Billy. One of the girls, Megan, is apparently Tina's daughter daughter. Yeah, Na is the one that Charlie calls to find out where Billy is. She also reveals some scary stuff that he broke into their house and was bleeding and everything profusely. Yeah a lot.
So it's just like, what's going on? And I remember when they said this. I think she says that it's coming from his mouth and nose. It kind of reminded me of the drunk guy that's in the jail with Nato and Chad. Oh yeah, I think it's the same person, or intended to be.
But he is bleeding a lot from his mouth, and every scene they show him, there's a little puddle of blood under him. Also those jail scenes. In the jail with Nato is of course Chad and then they're the drunken there who's something's wrong with his face he has. Yeah, it's all wound. It's kind of gross, a wound that's partially bandaged.
Yeah, it's like slightly patched up but not there's anything. Going across his face, and I don't know if it's like a breathing tube in his nose or just a line string or something. I couldn't figure out what it was because he's in shadow for most of it. For most of it, Yeah, I don't even think I saw that. And he's just repeating what everybody says and there, and it's a very Lynchian thing.
I mean there's stuff like that in Wild at Heart in particular that it reminds me of and it's disturbing. Yeah, he's bleeding from the mouth basically the whole time he's repeating all these lines and stuff that's gross. And also because Nato can't I mean, maybe Nato can speak in her own way, but in the show, she just makes that like weird, wispy kind of noise and he's repeating it too, so it's even like it's just all these weird noises. Shut up, you fucking drunk, drunk. But it's driving Chad crazy, So I'm all for it deserved.
Yeah, I'm like, who cares? This is just kind of a cute scene that I like. Lucy gives Nato a fluffy pink robe and pj's and slippers and fluffy pink slippers, and I was like, oh, that's sweet. And so she's like at least comfy because they're I mean, they're trying to keep her safe. But she's in a jail cell and that's not really Yeah, the comfy is.
I'm not sure where else they could put her where she wouldn't be exposed. To people everything. I mean, the hospital would probably make more sense. It's not. But then you get people asking questions.
Well, I mean, they're the police, so I don't think anybody's gonna bother ask your questions. She's in a little cute PJ set. And again, Chad's been tortured with all these noises. Good. But that's just what that story about Billy reminded me, because I was like, there is a bleeding guy.
Yeah, but it's probably not the same person. It's probably not Billy. I don't think we ever find out who Billy is. Okay, be honest with you. That is interesting though, and I hadn't even that didn't even cross my mind, just because I have it in my head.
We don't know who Billy is. You never find out who Billy is. It's interesting though, that other people are actually talking about him. Yeah, outside of Audrey's purgatory. Yeah, outside of Audrey and Charlie.
Sleepy, Charlie, I'm so sleepy. That's lying. And I did say it in that episode. Yeah, put your code on, Audrey. It's already late and I'm so sleepy.
So episode fifteen takes us back to episode three. I don't remember, know if you remember those numbers that were I do. I got all excited in the White Lodge three and fifteen. Episode three was when Coop got sucked into the Las Vegas room through the outlet. Jade, Jade, get you right right.
We will see the fruition of that in this episode. But first we get Nadine releasing Edyhy. How many years have we all been waiting for this? You know, like from nineteen ninety to twenty sixteen. She's very chill about it.
She's been a selfish bitch this whole time. And Ed is still doing the like, are you you're going to regret saying this tomorrow? Blah blah blah blah. It's like Ed just like gosh, b run to Norma and. She's like, no, I had I walked here, I had the whole time to think about it, and I'm doing it.
We're like yay Aden and. His what what? But I've been a selfish bitch to you all these years and you've been a saint. Yeah, it's fun. She uses her shovel, or she has her shovel with her.
She has her shovel. She walks all the way there, doesn't turn back because she's determined to do this, to give it his freedom. She did it. We're so proud of you, niche. And of course when it shows up at the diner, Walter is back boo, but Norma dismisses him, sells.
Part of the arrangement with this franchisey situation is that she can sell off the other franchise locations and just keep the double arm, which is what she does. She opts for that, So he's going to buy her out and she will stay there. Run the com peaks and Mary ed, thank god. Finally, finally, very cute. Yeah, it's heartwarming.
I have to say. Well, I also liked that whole scene with the music and stuff the whole time. Yeah, yeah, uh, I remember which song that is. I've been loving you. Too long.
To stop that? No, I know what you're talking about. I thought, for some reason, because the show does tend to cut away and make its wait, I thought that when Nadine parted that we wouldn't get back, you know, it wouldn't be immediately ed showing up at the Double R. We'd have to yeat through, you know, some Evil Coop stuff for some the ice stuff, for Las Vegas stuff or whatever. But nope, it just thankfully it culminates right then.
So very sweet. Yeah, just cute, little heartwarming scene where he finally gets the girl. Evil Coop gets to the convenience store, the Dutchman's I'm assuming, Yeah, I guess, I'm assuming that's what that was. In reference to that's what I'm thinking, Ray. Says, the Dutchman's Coop says he knows what that is.
He goes to the convenience store, so gotta assume. And this is something that has always bugged me. I may have mentioned it on one of our episodes, that whole thing about Philip Jeffries in Firewalk and he's saying, we lived above a convenience store. I've been to one of their maidens. It was above a convenience store.
We live inside adream. And the convenience store that they show in this does not have two stories. And as a lodg a cool person or as an autistic person or whatever, I am like, that doesn't have a second What do you mean sure there's no above. I mean there can be convenience stores with a room above it, but this one does not have that. Oh yeah, it's like a normal like gas station.
It's a metaphysical on top of the convenience. Store because it does have stairs. It does have stairs, but there is nothing on top of the game store. It is part of the other dimension. Yeah, they walk up the stairs and kind of fade out, and then they're there and the same.
Yeah, dude, it's not all kinds of rooms. And then he ends up walking across a courtyard into a hotel. Yeah, there's like a bear like. Yeah, there's outdoor spaces happening too, and it's just like, okay, so it's not just. A building, walk up stairs, go through another door, and then he's in a courtyard and then he goes through another door and it's like a hotel or motel room and he gets to talk to the teapot.
Yeah, the teapot. You sees some woods and some other strange people, that. Lady talking backwards of course, yeah, the usual. We also see our old masked friend because I think one of us were like, are we going to see any of the other the older entity creature things. We do see the masked guy with the pointy nose from Firewalk with Me and earlier in this was.
I think he gets shown in like just like an older clip. Every time they show him. I just think about the kid also having that mask on. It's like, where'd you get that? How do you know about that?
Because they're part of I mean the little kids, they're a convenience store with me. They are part of that whole group, that club. But Coop finds out from Jeffries or they talk about Judy. Jeffries tells him you've already met Judy. But isn't any clearer than that.
I guess that's all really the information that he gets. Yeah, not much. Jeffery is not very talkative. Yeah, I mean Coop asked him, why did you put a hit out on me? Or who's Judy?
All this other stuff. I don't know that he leaves satisfied, but I don't think so. He does have the coordinate. He can head there now and Richard shows up because back in Montana he had recognized him. This is this is another one of those kind of stretches to me.
Yeah, he recognized him from a picture that Audrey apparently had of Coop. Sure, yeah, whatever. I don't know when she got a picture of him, but it's probably the same picture that Tammy. Has Tammy has. I was just gonna say, maybe it's like what Sam.
In the Black Lodge, but whatever, whatever, Like you said already, they're very different looking. Dougie is different looking from Cooper because of the hairstyle and all this much older. Evil Coop has aged. I mean Cooper has aged as well. They didn't like try to deage him in this, but technically he would probably be more like Major Briggs since he had spent the last twenty five years in the Blood.
Yeah, but also Evil Coop is all like tan and like Sundann, he's kind of gross. Heesus gross looking there. I don't know that, ye, I mean it. Looks obviously same face, but like. And he was young probably when he saw that picture.
Yeah, And it's like you said, like a young picture of Coop. So it's like, how are you sure it feels like shoehorning to to get them together. There could have maybe been a different way to do that, where Richard is at that gang place in Montana and they could have just hooked up there somehow, like oh you're yeah, I don't know, I don't know, but it just seems kind of odd that he's tailed him from to hear and wants to try and kill him and of course doesn't work, and then Coop takes him with him, just like get in the truck. He's like, okay, well, here we go road trip. And then the convenience store just appears.
When they love Spooky, we get Stephen and Gerston in the woods. Yeah, whatever, whatever. You Stephen, I don't like. Yeah, And the scene doesn't really do much for me. I think I remember that from the first time watching it, Like I don't care what happens to him for one thing.
Yeah, I like Becky better. It takes a while for this scene to play out, and apparently he shoots himself in the head or something, and we don't see it because, yeah, Girston has left his side at that point because someone has passed them by in the woods. And it's Mark Frost. Yeah. Mark frost a little cameo.
Little cameo with a doggy, a cute dog. So that story for Becky, I guess is resolved. Yeah. I don't know why we needed to see all of that. Yeah, it's fine, it's whatever.
Becky's getting her pie and ice cream, So who cares about Steven? Yeah? Hoefully. Gersten turns herself around. And well, yeah, what the heck?
Girl gets away from bad people and bad things. Seriously, we get to listen to some zz top at the roadhouse for some reason. Oh yeah. Like the middle of the episode. Sharp dressed man plays people love it.
Apparently everyone goes crazy, so does the announcer. He starts Dan siche, Yeah, it was fun. James really steps into it here by approaching Renee when she's with her husband. Yeah, and it's like dude, and he's like, what. The heck are you doing?
And James just like fumbles all of it like so bad, it can't spin anything out. He starts like stuttering and like stumbling, and he just goes like I. Like her, Yeah, I'm like what are you doing dude? Like you used to be Laura's secret lover. I feel like you should know how to do this.
Hello, just bizarre. But of course this leads to a fight and Freddy is with James, so he these dudes in the face and annihilates them. Like you said, brain damage, Dane Bramage. I'm like, did he like explode their brains just like on impact? Because that one guy I don't remember, Oh it's James, was like yeah, no, but James is like his eyes look missed.
Well yeah, and he's foaming at the mouth so bad. James is smart enough to know hate call nine mone cops. He knows he's going to have to deal with this, so they get arrested because of that end up at the jail as well with everybody else. Everybody else in there, Nato, the drunk Chad, They're all still there, so. A little party of strange characters because also James is like definitely losing that fight and then his friend has to help him and it just uh oh James.
That gets them to the police station, which is important. Okay, Yes, we get Douggie at home and janey E is fawning all over him again because their luck has changed. She's happy about the gym for Sunny Jim and the car and everything else gives him a piece of cake. He doesn't like that cake as much as he likes his pie. It looked pretty dry to me, so I understand it.
He starts fiddling with the remote for some reason, ends up turning on the TV which is playing Sunset Boulevard, which we talked about a little bit on our Mohome Drive episode which you can go listen to. And I totally had forgotten about this, that Gordon Cole's name on the show comes from Sunset Boulevard. There is a character named Gordon Cole in that one of the studio people are something. Because that movie's all about Hollywood. Yeah, that is the final trigger for two.
And it's interesting to me that it's Gordon Cole. It's his name that really shocks brings it back. Yeah, because he seriously he gets and everything. He's just like yeah, and his eyes widen and he's like, I need to do something. Sees the outlet, it's all connected, crawls over there to stick his fork in it.
Yeah, he puts his fricking fork. He knows he needs to do this. Perfectly shaped fork. Also, yes, quite luckily with the times and that doesn't go in obviously, But the other end, the handle fits perfectly into the socket, flicks it in there, and how of course terrifies janey eaves it likes. The whole room up.
I I was we watching that. I was like, imagine being her and turning ground and your toddler husband just absolutely destroyed all your power and probably himself. Yeah, scary to do it though, it's so right too. So he's electrocuted himself. Yeah, obviously he survives, but we'll have to wait a little bit to see shape he's in.
We still have three episodes left. Your hopes up that you're going to see Agent Dale Cooper on the next episode, just saying just like. I don't we gotta I don't know what happened to him. This part bummed me out. We have the log lady calling, oh yeah, that's sad for the last time.
A lot of this sequenced these three episodes that we watched. I didn't remember most of it. Like I knew that Nadine thing was coming, I knew that Coop talks to Teapot, jeffries Teapot. I remember the arm wrestling stuff, but the janey e thing being her half sister. Totally forgot about that.
I know you were surprised when that happened, and I was just like, what's going on? Then? I didn't really recall that the log lady basically dies. She had to die on screen, but I mean she basically does. She calls and tells Hawk she's going to die.
She is dying. Yeah, it's like the last it's the end. When he walks into the conference room to tell the other I mean, he says it as if she died when she on up the phone. Yeah, like the second that call was over, he's like, well, Bush, she's gone. Sad.
That was a bummer again that she had such a relationship with David Lynch to Obviously she didn't die like on set while this was happening, but she was well aware that she was going to be dying very soon. And yeah, cared enough about him and the show to do all this. It's it's sad, it's touching. Yeah. And this is the episode where Charlie says that he is still sleepy.
I am so sleepy. I haven't wrote it. She's brighten him again. Yeah, they haven't left the damn house yet. They're still in the same clothes.
It's still the same night for them. But for everybody else. It's yeah, I do believe days have passed and the other storylines, because back on episode twelve, I'm sure they had been talking about Jack Rabbit's palace by them. Yeah, there were supposed to go on their walk for another two days. Yeah, yet in Audrey's timeline, what house that night and haven't left yet.
They're like at the doorway finally, and even then it doesn't they don't leave. No, they don't leave yet, and Charlie is still sleepy. So sleepy. We like cheer when he said that line, We're like, oh, yes. Well, because Sack when we saw him on episode thirteen, I'm like, I hope he says he's sleepy at some point during still had to wait two more episodes.
But he did it. He did it. We do see them leave eventually. Just spoiler for you. Oh my gosh.
I just it's like it's just a weird, so strange. Just wait, yes, wait, I'm like, we still have three episodes. What happens to her? I remember very clearly. Wait, we end with the veils at the roadhouse and an interesting scene with Charlene yee.
Yeah, she's very what's the right word. I just say catatonic. But that's not really it just nothing's going on with her. She's just sitting very like slouched at one of the booths at the third House. She's waiting for her friend.
Yeah, but she's so like about it. And then these two guys come over and she says that they look at each other. They pick her up and just take her spot. Yeah, pick her up, sit her on the floor. They physically remove her from the booth and sit her on the floor and take the booth, because that's how people act these days.
And yeah, she stays on the floor and eventually starts crawling and then screaming. Yep, normal stuff, normal casual night the roadhouse ad. It's Twin Peaks. That's all I say about that. It's Twin Peaks, and these things happen.
Like I said at the beginning, things are starting to wind down. We don't get the reappearance of Agent Cooper, but we're well on the way there. He has finally taken steps to ensure that the connections are being made with Las Vegas and Twin Peaks, obviously by the FBI, and everyone is starting to converge or will be starting to converge into Twin Peaks. Yeah, Evil coops on the way there. If he follows the coordinates, he should end up in Twin Peaks.
Yeah. Like hello. Hopefully in Las Vegas they figure stuff out, and then I'm sure that at some point something will lead the FBI Tammy, Albert, and Gordon back to Twin Peaks. Yeah, and hopefully Agent Cooper back to Twin Peaks. So we'll have to see how that all plays out, how they each get pulled back there.
Yeah, it's like everything because even when Andy is with the Fireman, he gets the visions, and one of them is the experiment in New York, which is already kind of connected to everything. I mean it is, but more so now because someone in Twin Peaks knows about that too, or has at least seen that vision. Was it in New York? Though? What do you mean by in New York it just was floating in space?
Well I just assumed it was just when it was in the box. No, I think that's just that's just it, because it's a part of the creation of Bob and these other things. Like when it was shown in New Mexico, it wasn't being shown back in New York, correct, Yeah, I don't think the experiment just exists in New York. Oh yeah, either way, everything's getting connected. I'm I'm excited to finish it.
Hopefully we'll get it done before you go back to school and complete the series for everybody. Yes, hopefully, Thanks everybody for listening. Hopefully we'll get these last three episodes watched and our last episode out within the next couple of weeks here, no promises. But promises. I think we can do it.
Yeah, we just have three left. They'll go by pretty quickly. It's going to get a little bit depressing from here on out, especially the last two episodes are kind of somber. I just know that. I'm sure there'll be lots of fun stuff thrown in.
There's some Las Vegas stuff that's pretty fun still with Chantel and Hutch and but yeah, the culmination of the series is kind of depressing. Oh wow. Okay, well, so we've got that to look forward to. Okay, I can't wait. All right, everybody, thank you for tuning in, and thanks to Cleo for joining me, and hopefully get the last one done within the next couple of weeks here, and don't forget hey, folks, just wanted to break in here and say that Cleo and I actually watched the last three episodes and recorded our last episode on twin Peaks the Return, before I was finished editing this episode, so you will get it sooner rather than later.
You will not have to wait and tell her winter break to get that episode. It should be out in about a week or so. All right, Thanks a bunch, and don't forget anything can happen when you wake Up Heavy. It's already late and I'm so sleepy. Wow, this has just been such a pleasure.
I'm such a lucky boy. I can't wait to go home. Wake Up Heavy is a weirding Way media podcast
