Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power. Well, that is a sucker punch to the gonads. What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I am Brian.

I'm Marlena. We are currently in. The car on the way to Indianapolis for the once again much anticipated Whorehound Weekend. So, we're supposedly going to rendezvous with Misty and Jay. We'll see how that goes.

Oh, I forgot to text Jay back. It wasn't because I wasn't... I was intentionally not texting him back, but it was because I fell back asleep. Alrighty, so... This is another road trip episode, so.

Lord knows what we'll get on this little journey, but we'll have to see. Yeah. So, do we want to kick off the geek week? Me? I don't know.

I can do mine if you want. Sure, you go ahead, because I have to gather my thoughts. Okay, well, that's the thing. I've been trying to figure mine out, because I've watched a ton of stuff, but it's all been stuff related to. I always like checking back on movies with.

People I was talking to today, so most of those we'll go into later, so I'm not even going to delve into those. I was trying to think of anything I've watched that wasn't one. Of those, and not the last one I can think of is I did watch the remake of Day of the Dead. Which Misty had brought up a long time ago, I think. But, um, have you seen that one?

It's the one with Mira Sorvino. Maybe. I don't know. I can't remember. It's got, uh.

It's... Ving Rhames is in it, but not as the same character. Which, again, makes no sense to me. I don't even know. Yeah, it's...

It's so bad. I mean, it's just. I don't understand exactly why they went from, like, the, like, super high-end... you know, theatrical version of, you know, granted, it's a remake, but that's one of the more impressive remakes ever, possibly, is the Donuted End remake, so you get, you know, Zack Snyder directing, you get a huge theatrical release, you get real. Stars, and then, The next one, which if you. I guess they're still pretending like it's part of that same arc.

I don't know. I mean, it's nobody making it is involved other than Kirk Greengrim's back in there. But, like, I don't know how you drop down to a, like, straight-to-DVD release level with Mirror Sorvino as your major star. And it's just... Yeah.

It's just such a step down from last time. Again, if you even want to consider it in that same arc. I don't know that I do anyway, really. But. On top of that it's just bad I mean it's it's mildly entertaining if you're a horror geek and you just want to kill like an hour and a half but um yeah for the most part it's And this is the weirdest part, is the fact that, once again, they credit at the beginning, like, story by George Romero or whatever, because if you're looking for an actual remake of Day of the Dead, it has nothing to do with that one.

I mean, other than there's zombies, and the military's. Kind of involved, like, in the original Day of the Dead. But other than that, nothing like it in any way, shape, or form, really. Yeah, I don't know, it's just.... The effects are bad.

Most of the characters are just stupid, which, again, happens. A lot in horror movies, but. And, I mean, there's one or two little moments where it's actually kind of an interesting setup, or, you know, just like there's a whole scene in, like, a ductwork system, and you've got a zombie chasing you through the ductwork. That's actually kind of got a tense moment in there somewhere. So, I mean, there's moments where it could have been turned into.

A good movie, but, yeah, it just falls so flat, it's not even funny. I don't know. That's... Do you need the heat up? Huh?

It's really hot. I had to turn the defroster on. We're going to see. Our love and desire to see Randy will get us there even if our. Windows are fogged up and can't see the road.

We're coming! We're coming! Yep. Oh, other than that, yeah, I mean, I went for my major geek activity last night, but we'll get into that later because I did go and see Sucker Punch. So, we'll go full-fledged into that later.

So that's pretty much it. That and just prepping stuff to get ready to head to the show this week. That's most of what I've been doing. Um, well. And last week I watched May, which is maybe one of my favorite horror movies of all time.

It is awesome. It is quite awesome. And as you all well know, I have a huge crush on Jeremy Sisto, which Brian and Misty like to call Suck and Blow. Suck and Blow. Because he was Suck and Blow in Clueless.

Actually, his name was like Elton or Elston or something like that. Yeah, it is Elton, but for some reason Suck and Blow was funnier. Yeah, it is funny. But, I mean, I just don't understand why Misty is so grossed out by him. He's tall, and he's dark, and he's handsome, and he has a deep voice.

And, like, what more. Could you want? Angela Bettis. That's what I want. And she's just weird yeah but she's awesome weird she's like cute weird.

It was very that was the thing about that movie she's so fucking creepy I know but it's still cute and charming it is I can see why he would've like fallen for that a little bit and then immediately been like whoa yeah I'm totally on his side in that movie you know she's in that movie I definitely did not feel sorry for her at all by the end it's just like um Get better social skills. Not really anyone's fault but your own. Nice. I mean, as a person who struggles with being social, I can turn on the charm when needed. I usually just feel no need to do so.

I don't know. I feel for it. I'm socially awkward and I want to kill people. So, I mean, you know, it happens. Yeah, I guess so.

I mean. And I also started watching this show, which I'm surprised at how awesome it is. America's done a remake on Syfy, as you will, Being Human. Yeah, I've been watching that one. Yeah, and the American one I've seen bits and pieces of, and it's okay.

The British one is amazing. That's what I've heard. It's hilarious, and it's just so well done. It's not like there's amazing special effects or anything, but just the stories are fantastic. Like, I've been super duper into that, and I really like it.

So, that's what I've been doing. Yeah, I have not watched the British one yet, but well before there even was an American one, I had people saying, oh, yeah, I've seen this show. You know, it's actually really cool, and. It's, you know, It's still such a funny idea if you actually stop and break it down. It is.

It's such a silly idea, but... Especially for the fact that they almost take the show kind of seriously. Yeah. At least the American one now has become very, like, melodrama or something. Yeah, it is.

It's funny how. What a silly idea it is in its essence. And they turn it into a pretty serious tone of a show. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, the British one has a pretty serious tone as well, but it has a lot more humor in it, I think.

Like, I haven't really noticed... There's a little bit of humor in. The American one, but I think I'm just really partial to British humor. A lot of people don't get it, but I'm one of those people. It's exceedingly funny to me.

I don't know what it is. I'm very hit and miss, and always have been. There's ones I think are awesome, and I totally get, and I'm right on board with, and there's other stuff I'm like, yeah, I can see where you'd have a following, but I just don't buy into it. Yeah. I'm hit and miss with my British show.

I mean, I've pretty much loved every British show I've sat down to watch. All the comedies. I've not really tried to watch any of the dramas or anything like that. But, you know, it's like the only one I can't really get into, which is probably the biggest one of all, is Red Dwarf. And, I mean, I've watched maybe one episode of it, so I feel like that's not really an accurate.

I've seen a couple. It's been a long time, but I've watched a couple. That was one of those I probably could have watched a little more. Maybe I'm just an hardcore geek, but I like the fact that they were so self-aware of all the sci-fi shows. They were making fun of.

They were just really smart about the way they were making fun of it. They weren't going about it clumsily. Like, everything was so plotted out and specific as to what they were making fun of, and they were just, like, really well-versed in their sci-fi geekery before they even started that show. So, again, I haven't watched much of it, but what I've seen, yeah, it was one of them that I probably would have watched more than a lot of other BBC shows. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean that's that's how i feel but it's like really popular and i think if i maybe sat down and watched more of it i would get into it but i kind of slipped through most of the one or two episodes that i watched and i was just like oh for. The love of god can we watch something else. I just kind of like, it's really strange because I don't like tense or awkward situations. Not that I ever would, but I can't watch Maury Povich.

It's just like, oh, it's too, it's a gut-wrenching tense. It's like, is it going to be the father? Is this guy going to be the father? Or is it going to be one of these seven guys? Oh, I can't stand not knowing.

And I just, I don't like situations where people are like, arguing or like almost physical violence is way easier for me to tolerate than like just like uncomfortable situations or like Like, arguments that are, like, not loud yelling. Just, like, little bickering. Those are just so hard for me to watch. I don't know. I'm always impressed when somebody can recreate one of those on screen.

Yeah. Like, I. Again, if it's, like, mediocre done, I'm just like. Eh, this is melodrama. I don't like it.

Yeah. But when there's, like, one that's convincingly good that I'm just like... ow, that was painful to watch. I have to give you credit. It may not be an enjoyable experience. It may not be one I want to go back right away and watch.

But I'm way more impressed with somebody who can convincingly recreate the tense and uncomfortable situation that those kind of fights or arguments become. Yeah. I think I've referenced this before, but who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? I could not... watched that. Movie it made me so uncomfortable worse than anything I've ever watched in my life I don't know it was just the tone of that movie I was just like oh my god yeah but like that's a lot of British shows so it's strange to me almost that I'm so into them because like I mean like the British office that's just pretty much what it was you know but like.

They were all just so good at it it was oh and off that subject I got around to watching Winter's Bone. Ah, there we go. And, you know, at first I was like, this is kind of a slow movie. I wasn't sure if I would like it. By the end, I was like, oh, my God.

Yep. That movie was amazing. I mean, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. That's what I'm saying. I mean, it really is definitely, like, top five of last year.

And I haven't seen most of the movies of last year. Yeah. I don't have to to know that, you know? Yeah, anything I've ranked of the last year, I'm like. Yeah, that's the best movie I've seen last year.

Because I didn't see that many movies of the new variety last year. So that's the best thing I've seen last year. I mean, I was just blown away by everything in that movie. It's like Jennifer Lawrence was amazing, of course. She was nominated for an Oscar.

But I don't know. I never bothered to research it. I don't know if it was actually filmed. in people's houses, or if they had sets or something like that. I think a lot of it is, because I know they even brought in some of the other actors, like the little kids, her sister. brother and sister are actual like local kids from that area like I don't think they were even professional actors I think they wanted authentic to the point of getting real people involved yeah. Cause I mean there was just it was so authentic you know when I was watching I was like there's no way that can be a set you know it's just like down to the little detail of like how many magnets they have on their fridge and all the clutter on their countertop it's just like this is it was just like real and that was what made the movie, like, so hard to watch, you know?

Like, that. Like, it was very real. And, like, there was no... Did you notice that Patty the Daytime Hooker was in it? Yeah.

Yeah. And the people were just. And, I mean, not that this is even an issue, but this kind of, like, added to the film. The people were just so fucking ugly. I mean, it was, like, the worst meth-mouth hooker's...

And that's what they needed for the movie. That's what it was about. So it worked. But it was just like, oh, my God, these people are amazing. I totally believe that she's on meth.

It's frighteningly accurate. I mean, these are people you're going to run into out there. Oh, yeah. Easily. And ten times over.

Yeah. Especially in those areas. You're just going to see a lot of scary people out there. Yeah. And there's just, I don't know what it is, but like certain movies, I think, it's not even that I relate to it, but it's just like a certain movies just like strike a chord in you.

And just the part, the part in that movie where she goes back to, uh, I can't remember his name, but the old guy's house and the woman comes out and like beats her in the face with a coffee mug and throws hot coffee on her and they drag her into a barn and she wakes up and she's like, well, I guess you're going to have to kill me. It's just like, That was just almost, like, a painful scene to watch because you, at that point, you realize, like, this is a girl whose life is shit. You know, it's just like, sometimes I might think I'm having a bad day. Sometimes I might think my life sucks. But this girl's life is shit.

And she has nothing to lose. You know, it's just like, I've got to do this or I can die. Whatever. You know, like. At the same time, that's what I took from it.

It's like she's, you know, it kind of brings that universal. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It all is kind of your own existence.

It's how you live your life. Even if you want better out of it, you realize this is what you have. This is what you have to deal with. That's what I thought was really amazing is how much it kind of gives that perspective that each person is dealing. With their own little reality there and hers isn't. seems scary and horrible but at the same.

Time she's fighting to keep it that's the best thing she has is you know being able to have her land and have her family and it's like that's all she has in the world and they're trying to take that away from. Her you know at one point I was just like why doesn't she just let them take that stupid fucking house she could get welfare I was like she'd get welfare she could get section 8 she'd have a pretty sweet life you know like her mom would get disability you know Just move to. A ghetto city somewhere. Yeah. She'd be fine.

That's what I was thinking. I'm like, you know, you wouldn't have to chop wood all day and you could not have to rely on the neighbors for groceries because you could get food stamps. I don't know. I did think that, but then. Again, I think there's also a.

Well, with more people, and also people that I would almost have a little more respect for, there's also a pride. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I guess it was pride. And that's probably why she wouldn't, because she actually seems like, in part, a good person. Yeah.

A person with pride and dignity, and she would not want to. Leech off the government. Yeah, but... Like, a big portion of our country does now. Yeah, but.

I thought that, and then I was like, no, she readily accepted handouts from neighbors and things like that, you know? But that's, I don't know, that's kind of different. Because, I mean, and it, again, it speaks so well of the movie that everything is handled by these little communities. Yeah. And it's like, they, even the law, I mean, they take everything into their own hands.

So it is almost like. we're taking care of you now, but later, you know, something horrible happened to us and you'll help us. I think, I mean, it wasn't. Like a total handout. I think it is more of just that system of helping each other. And that system of.

Neighbors helping neighbors. Yeah, of taking care of your own, which is what really comes into play later, that these little systems at work take care of their own first and foremost regardless. So, yeah. And again, I mean, just that I. I've said it the last time, but yeah, Jennifer Lawrence, I think it's such a massively layered performance, especially for a girl who just started acting.

A few years ago. I mean, to be that impressive, like just the fact that at times she is a little kid and she's like laying on the bread with her friend talking like she's a teenager. And the other time, she is. Just putting adults in their place. She will just shut people down with her, like, hard-ass comments.

And I'm just like, to be able to play each one of those levels, you know, it's like that's, it's an impressive performance. Yeah. It was, it was very, it was an excellent movie. You know, and it was one of the movies that I never really even thought I'd want to see. But it was kind of like a red box.

Do I want to watch. Air Bud 9 or. Winter's Bone, or some stupid movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, who I hate. So, I mean, it was Winter's Bone, and I'm really glad that I watched it. I mean, it was amazing.

Yep, definitely. I'm working on that one. Jennifer Lawrence. Yeah. She'd be sitting in with us.

Yeah, I know. I can pretend like we're cousins or something. Like, don't you remember me? I'm your cousin, twice removed, and you're... mother's side I don't know I don't know how that works I don't even know. What once removed means honestly I don't think I ever officially figured it out I don't think I want to there's so many things that I'm just like I don't know the answer to that and then I'm like why don't I google that and I'm just like because by.

The time I pull out my phone I just don't care anymore. You know, like, yesterday someone asked me, what exactly is a caper? And I was like, you know, I've wondered that a lot, but it's not really important enough for me to, like, pull out my phone and Google. They're just peas, I'm sorry. Yeah I look at them they're peas.

Salty peas salty pea yeah I mean I don't know strange thing about knowledge in the internet now I feel like there's no reason for me to not know everything If I don't know it, I can look it up. You do have the entire universe at your disposal. Yeah, exactly. It's kind of frightening how much knowledge we have accessible and yet use little of. I know, yeah.

It's like, it's amazing to me that people are so much dumber now. It's just like, everything you need to know, you carry the internet in your back pocket. Yep. It's frightening actually yeah it is it's. Very frightening it's just like you get lost in the woods and that's the thing like if your phone dies and you're lost in the woods you're fucked because how are you going to google how to make a campfire how are you going to google which berries are poisonous.

People don't know how to actually live they only know how. To virtually live exactly that's why I like to take that knowledge and keep it with me. I just try not to know anything that way I don't have to worry about losing it. That's all I have as far as gateways to go, though. All right.

Anything else we need to pass. Along between here and Indy? I don't think so. If we find something interesting at a rest stop or something, we'll let you guys know. But otherwise, I guess we will check in once we get up to Indy.

Sweet. Oh, can we eat at the Huddle House? Just kidding. But that would be kind of cool. No lie.

But if nothing else i wanted to at least give the uh we did just recently present you with the mace jay gave you his uh his awesomely handcrafted mace so what was your response to.

That um a religious epiphany that Now no man will stand before me, no injustice that I am exposed to will I brook. Vengeance will be mine, not saith the Lord, saith Randy. Because your average CSI kind of situation, they're not going to be looking for mace-based weapons. Sure, you would confuse them. It would definitely be blunt force trauma.

Right, right. But they'd be confused by what? Yeah. So if I do have to use it, I've already picked out the spot under the stairs where I can hide it. I promise that I won't go out on a rampage and wind up having to fill lots of graves.

Did you clean all the coconut residue off so they can't trace that back to our backyard? Yeah. I cleaned the coconut residue off. I didn't know coconuts were native to your backyard. I know the splattering remains that are still about.

That's pretty fucking awesome. The shrapnel from the coconut almost took me out. It scared the bejesus out of me. I almost dropped the camera. No, we're doing it sort of backwards.

We did mention it in the last. couple of episodes but do we need to give the back story on why there was a mace. I don't know I can't remember how do we talk about maces how did that even get started. I don't know I don't remember either magic just happens. He was going to give you stuff so you were like alright I'm going to make you a mace I. Think it's because you were in the same Facebook page thing remember if you're in the top five.

Whoever's in that oh you're in the zombie zombie killing. Group oh yeah okay yeah I had a good team, too. I lucked out. Maybe I already got eaten by zombies because I wasn't on the team. It changes all the time.

You left me behind? Every time. I didn't leave you behind. Mine changes all the time. I'd have to include Misty, though.

She's a good shop. She's a lot better shop than I am. I am, dude. Why does that not surprise me and frighten me emotionally? I threatened to shoot a girl because you're a wise man.

She said she was going to kidnap me. She's going to sneak into my house, kidnap me, and drive me to the beach and feed me to sharks. This girl at work. Sometimes when I feed her to the pigs first, she's like, well, oh yeah, well, I'll feed you to the sharks. I'm like, that's just the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard.

Where are you going to get a fucking shark? She's at the ocean. I'm like, where's the ocean? Is it anywhere fucking near us? She's like, I'll come in your house and kidnap you and drive you to the ocean.

I'm like, bitch, you know, I'm breaking my house. Try to kidnap me. I got five handguns by my bed. Let's see you try that. I will shoot your ass dead.

You're dating the fucking Punisher. Oh, he's way hotter than that guy. I just like that the feeding her pigs was totally normal. But it's completely outlandish that she feed you pigs. At least, hey, no, there are at least pigs in Kentucky, you know?

There are, there are. They're down the street from here, right? At my, uh, my boss's. It at least makes sense. If you've seen Spanish, it makes sense, for God's sakes.

There you go. Alright. Sharks makes no goddamn sense. I've seen dogs. There's no sharks in Kentucky.

If you want to kill people with sharks, the first thing you've got to do is schedule a fucking regatta. Because that's what brings them. She might be able to take you to Newport. Yeah. Anyway, I was going to shoot her ass.

Or Spring Break. Yeah, Spring Break. Were you guys serious? Was this a serious quarrel? That was serious.

She thought I was joking. She thinks we're friends. Yeah, what little I. Know of most of her encounters, I go like. She didn't.

Have the fear she should have. I would shoot her in her face. I didn't like her. She's like a poodle. She acts like a chihuahua.

She's like. Oh, my God. We got started talking about the zombie team. Yeah. Somehow Randy and I got talking about something.

What was it? Movies or something like that? Mm-hmm. You're going to make me a copy of some movies, and I told him I would trade him a mace. Legally copied of.

You buy your movies from a store where you pay tax and full price. For the government, yes. Yes. So the bottom line is I'm now prepared for any apocalypse. Because I'm not reloading anything, I'm not a shell guy, so.

I can go out and I can manually service anybody. That I need to. Manually service. And we need to talk Jay into going into business for himself. You already got stopped by somebody in the showroom asking if he had a table or a website.

So everybody at home. Put in your orders right now. Start putting the pre-orders in so you can get the material. You could get genuine movie meltdown merchandise. Nobody wants that.

Maybe you have to, like, sharpie your movie meltdown on the handle of the weapon. I wish they'd only give you the weapon if you buy. A movie meltdown. I'll make you one, but... Well, the confused look on guys at work was the best thing.

What you making? Mace. What's that? Just don't worry about it. Is that a park for your truck?

No. Your answer should be, let me show you. Mace, the first choice in weaponry for any apocalypse. People of Eternia, I stand before the great eye of the podosphere, chosen by destiny by the powers of. of Lipson. This inevitable moment will transpire before your eyes even as He-Man himself bears witness to it now I baby Skeletor am master of the action attraction action attraction your home for all things action.

To find out more, visit metalmikey.lipson.com or search for Action Attraction in iTunes. All right, so we're here in the hallway lurking outside of the Feldman room. We're stalking the Feldman. We're also here with Metal Mikey. Hey, how's it going?

Awesome. He wanted to come stalking with us. So, aside from the stalking, do you want to tell the other giant news that just happened? Oh my god. Apparently the guy, he used to be Corey, or he used to be Corey, yeah, Haim's manager, who's now Corey Feldman's manager.

He's both of those, I guess. I don't know if he's still Feldman's manager or whatever. Anyways, he saw my tattoo and he was like, can I take a picture of your tattoo? I'm going to send it to Haim's mom. I didn't say Haim's mom.

I sent it to his mom. So Corey Haim's mom is going to see Haim's face on my leg. And I shaved this morning so I don't have stubble at all. I don't know if. Oh, 5 o'clock shadow.

Hold on, let me check. No, we're good. That's okay. Corey would be cool then. You know.

Yeah. So it's all exciting, so... Yay! So now we're standing outside in the hallway making fun of Feldman and his anime hair and his stupid smoke... You know those e-cigarettes?

I'm getting way too loud to the microphone. I'm getting excited. I'm sorry. It's fine. Well, no, wait.

No, I actually noticed a new detail, too, because he kind of has Bono-esque sunglasses right now, too, from, like, the. There are no goggles. He is a rock star. Yeah. We've been on all day.

We're also like a foot away from all of his fans. Maybe he got confused and he doesn't think that he's Corey Feldman. He thinks he's Corey Hart. It's not nice. Nice.

Well, jeez. I need to get in line on a NASA case. That will change the whole list of fans. I should probably not talk quite so loudly about Feldman. He's about two feet from his fans.

Although one of them did take a picture of. My leg, so. She was the fan of both, I would guess. What, four people have taken pictures of my legs so far? We need to start charging for this.

Dude, I totally should. I can make back my boondock saints money on that one. You should keep, like, a little veil over it and be like, oh, I'll show you. It's going to cost you. A different kind of beep show.

Yeah. A hame show. A hame show. Oh, God. I still can't bring myself to stand in line for that.

Fucker's got his glasses on. I'm not going to give him $ 25. Well, he's probably really, really high, and he just wants to cover his bloodshot eyes. I can't imagine. I like that he's on a stage, too, because he can't be a ground level with us Libyans.

He needs to look down the rest of the time. He can't be higher than Sean Patrick Flannery. That does seem wrong, really. Sean Patrick Flannery's face moves somewhat, we've decided. I'm pretty excited about that.

He's got one side up. Love that man. I can't believe I didn't know he was powder. We were just talking about that movie the other day. One of his many stellar roles.

He went naked, so I gotta watch it. He wouldn't stand up, though. That's kind of lame, you know? But then again, Feldman's not standing up either. Again, it's the new trend this time.

Everybody's staying behind. Because even Sid was just like, fuck it, just take the picture. I'm tired. Well, Shatner wouldn't even write your name on something. He wouldn't even make eye contact.

Yeah, Shatner's a douchebag. Oh, that's tragic. Right after his birthday, we're saying that. Oops, sorry about that, Willie. All my autograph pictures are on the wall.

I don't know where my... I paid $ 80 for that thing. I don't know where I put it. It's on a wall. It's like...

Shuffled in with some, like, old teen-bop magazines or something. I don't even know where the hell it is. I take that, Shabby. Yeah, if I'm not paying you, like, $ 80, you could at least, like, write my damn name on it, you know? You would think, really. $ 80?

Misty, it's not a long name. It charges by the letter. Dude, seriously. But it was, ooh, security, security, uh-oh, uh-oh. Something's going down.

It's probably us. We're recording. Probably. Maybe we should make it. We should probably make it.

Yes. But I'm curious to see what it is. Just leave it. Run, run. I'm going to hide behind it.

Maybe they won't notice we're on it. Beyond any terror you have imagined. A nightmare. No. Unlike anything you have witnessed.

Is born. Hi, my name is Andrew Robinson, and you are listening to Movie Meltdown. The unholy is unleashed. Stand up You've got too many. I won't sympathize And if you complain once more, you'll be found out in your dreams.

And if you. Complain once more, you'll be found out in your dreams. Before we begin that, do you want to tell your core game story? Huh? Feldman?

Feldman, whatever. The elevator in there. It wasn't much of anything. It was just me standing there at the elevator with a mace and him... Okay, this sounds good already.

The doors open and there's a confused looking Feldman in bodyguards and there's me and I look up and kind of look at. Him and go, hey, what's up? And he just kind of looked at me and went. Hey. Walked off.

Was it hey or was it hey? Was it his fake voice? No, no, it was his real voice. Oh, that's nice. That's his frog brother's voice.

No, and I'm kind of wishing I would have said a little bit more to him, but at the time he had security with him, so. I'm still going to wait in that line to see him. Or I could just wait out the door, since he's right down the hallway. Yeah, we are crashing in Randy's room for the moment, so. All right, anything else before we begin?

Boy, his mom's going to see my legs. Oh, Lord. You have been jingling all day long. I have. Lord.

I jingle, jangle, jingle. All right, so it is time for our out-of-town feature. Get more out of life. Go out to a movie. Out of town.

Out of town. Out of the night. Out of town. It's in your mind. I lost everyone I've ever loved.

Then they locked me away. With nowhere to hide. From the pain. You are safe. It's all safe.

What you're imagining right now? That place can be as real as any pain. Don't be afraid. You have all the weapons you need. Your fight for survival starts right now.

I'm gonna escape from here. There's armed guards everywhere. If Blue finds out, we're dead. We're already dead. This is your journey.

If you succeed, it will set you free. And this week, not only did we go out on the town, but we're also recording this segment out of our house where we usually sit. So this is quite an activity for us. We're leaving the house two different times in one week. For two different reasons.

Crazy. I know, hell yeah. So this week's Out on the Town feature is Sucker Punch, the year 2011, director Zack Snyder. The plot, according to. IMDb, a young girl is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather, retreating to an alternative reality is a coping strategy.

She envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility. So, spoiler alert, this is a whole brand new movie, so don't be ruining it for yourselves. You have been warned. You haven't seen this. You should go see it because it was fucking awesome.

It was pretty awesome. I think I had more issues with it than you guys. You did not like this movie? I wouldn't go that far. I liked it.

It was fun, I'll be with that. It was fun. I think my take on it, as I got outside, I was like, yeah, all style, no substance. It's, like, visually amazing. Like, just everything about the way he shoots it, the way he pieces.

It together is, like, awesome. It's a beautiful movie. Yeah, like, and the color. Like, the color that he uses. Like, he's found a way to make a lot of stuff washed out, but then he makes certain things really bright, and it's just...

I agree most of that's probably done post-production at this point, but I don't care. It's like you use whatever tools you have at your disposal at this point to make your movie. And so, yeah, I think just that kind of stuff, just the look of it overall is amazing. And that color palette is awesome. But I don't know.

I think I had more issues with the story than anything else. I liked the story. I thought that it was sad and it went places I didn't think it would actually go. Yeah. Yeah.

But, I mean, I thought it was dark. The whole opening sequence with her and her sister and the stepdad, it was just like... Holy shit to me. I was sitting there and I was watching. I was just like.

I was just like, ah, ah. And it was just, it was amazing. I mean, there's like the visuals of it. And I thought it was a good story. And that girl is so Emily Browning.

Yeah. Emily Browning. I, yeah, I'm totally, I'm totally on board with that one. It's yeah. She's so ridiculously cute.

She was supposed to be in that role, right? No, it was supposed to be Amanda Seyfried. Hmm. And she ended up having to drop out because of, like, scheduling conflicts or something? Well, it's kind of to this movie's benefit.

Because as much as I like Amanda, I think half of what sells it is Emily Browning. She's so damn adorable, for one. But on top of that, like, she also handles the dramatic stuff. She handles the action scenes. It's like, I think she turns in, like, an amazing performance.

She really is. Half the reason to go see it is because, I mean, most of it focuses on her anyway. Yeah, I was telling Misty, she does a really good job of playing a tragic kind of character. She was awesome in Limity Snicket. You know, I thought she was awesome in that.

She was in Ghost Ship. yeah what other movies was she in. She's been in a lot of stuff but it's a lot of like smaller stuff I think originally she's. Canadian she's Australian she's Australian. Alright nevermind cause we saw first of all I read it on IMDB. And then she watched Jay was watching she was doing this interview on something and you could very hear the Australian accent because she learned how to have what I read she learned her American accent watching Sesame Street wow that's awesome.

Oh, she was ridiculous. I mean, most of the girls in this movie were beautiful, aside from Jenna Malone and her butthole mouth. See, I sat there the whole time going... Why do I know her? What was her name again?

Jenna Malone? No, I mean the character. Rocket? Yeah, I was like, why do I know Rocket? Because she looked so familiar.

I just didn't recognize the hair, the new hair color. Everything about her looked different. It looked bad. But it didn't, yeah. It was just kind of weird looking.

I don't know. She doesn't stand with her mouth and it just squinches up. Kind of like a sphincter. I don't like it. That's not a good look for a mouth.

It's not. I loved her in Saved. Saved was awesome. In this movie, I just... I don't know.

I mean, it wasn't that she had a bad job of acting. I just didn't like her face and the way it moved in the butthole mouth. But, I mean, I loved Abby Cornish. Sweet Pea was awesome. And Jamie Chun was adorable.

Yeah, I was going to say, I liked the, what was it, Jamie Chun. She is just, yeah, again, a lot of the other ones don't have a whole lot to do, but their job is to be cute. Yeah, so I mean, Jamie. Chun is good. Vanessa Hutchins, how adorable.

Vanessa Hutchins, I thought she, like, that's probably the best thing she could have done with her career. I told Jamie, it wasn't bad for having somebody from high school musical, and it wasn't. Well, I mean, yeah, all she's done is Disney projects and, like, romantic comedy kind of stuff so far. So I think this is, yeah, a step in the right direction for her, if nothing else, is just to be in something. A step in the half-naked direction.

Have her scantily clad and firing guns most of the time. It's just, like, it's a whole new... A new entry into her resume, so. And then that one chick whose name I can't say right, the doctor, the Carla. Oh, yeah, Carla.

I've given up on trying to say her last name right, so. But the doctor, she was awesome. Everything about this movie was awesome. I loved the cast. There wasn't anybody in the movie that I didn't like, aside.

From Butthole Mel. What was your thoughts on Blue? Sleazy, but in an awesome way. It was just so, you hated him, but he was so awesome at it. And he's such an asshole.

It's Oscar Isaac. Yeah, he's been in a couple other things, but I hadn't paid much attention to him before this. He's entertaining. I'm still kind of making up my mind on him. I don't know.

He's like, he is so, like, sleazy and so. But it works for this. He's supposed to be that sleazy asshole. You're supposed to not like him. He's a jackass.

Yeah. You can't like guys with mustaches that look like that. They're going to be assholes. Yeah. Yeah, they did sort of tailor him to be that sleazy.

I dated a guy who had that mustache. You don't trust them. You never trust guys with mustaches like that, ever. That's true. He was sleazy, too.

Dude, seriously, you don't get no sleazier than that. I was wondering about your mustache taste. Is that why you won't let me grow a mustache? Part of it. But yeah, I loved the cast.

I loved everything about this movie. I mean, I loved the action sequences. I mean, it didn't have the most substance and storyline, but what storyline it did have I thought was great. I loved the way it played out. I think that was what I was let down with, is there was so much awesome setup, and then there's just not enough to fill it out.

I don't know. I think it's almost trying. And this is. It's like a double-edged sword with Zack Snyder. It's like he's so good at the visuals, but I think sometimes he focuses too much on them.

Like, he's spending... Because this one seems like it's heavily influenced by three things. Music videos, video games, and anime. And it's like. heavily influenced like to the point where there are times I think it's trying so hard to be those that it kind of forgets to be a movie like just story wise structure wise it's like it almost gets more caught up in the making the little like snippets of you know of cool scenes that like you I don't know in the end I. Think it takes away from what could have been a better story put.

In there I don't know I just it was just fun to me I mean He could have had this really heavy story, and that would have been a good movie too, but if you're just going to have a good time, and. We've seen the trailers. You watched the trailer. You knew what you were getting into. Kind of, and that was the other thing.

It's so disconnected from everything. I was really hoping they were finding a way to work it all into the bigger picture and put it all together, and I don't know. It seems so broken up into those little snippets of an entirely separate little mini-movie. Which I guess is how they have to do it. But I don't know.

I think I was just hoping for something that was a little more all-encompassing that would kind of work. At all in there. I don't know. You're expecting too much. I guess so.

But again, if it were, if it were lesser, I mean, not that Zack Snyder's movies are perfect, but I mean, they're usually pretty entertaining and structure wise, they're usually pretty good. I haven't noticed anything else that's been this like segmented and broken up into weird little, it's, it almost uses like a gimmick for the whole structure of it. You know, it's like, he's never really done that before. It's always been very story based. So this one, you know, you get, everything is set up to fall into this pattern once we get past, you know, the first half hour.

Did you write this movie or? I thought he did. I don't know. I mean, I thought it was good. I mean, I loved it.

I had fun. I don't know. I think it's trying so hard to do the visuals. It's trying so hard to be all these other things that it kind of loses track of the story midway through. I don't know.

And I was gonna, I mean, what, because it goes into the main, like, setup of it, where she, like, goes into the insane asylum and then shifts to an entire second plotline that's sort of fictional, or. At least questionably. As it pans out, it seems pretty fictional. But, yes, I mean, is there a need for that second plotline? Like, where she goes to the club?

Because, I mean, you really kind of get the same thing either way. It's like, I don't know why... Well, yeah, it's in her head. Nobody cares about. Nobody wants to see the dull drabness of the inside of the insane asylum.

They want to see the beautiful visuals of the club. What's going on in her mind is all playing out. Nobody wants to see her getting shock therapy constantly. I don't. She's too adorable to get shock therapy.

Yeah, that's true. To me it seemed like an extension of the little, her little journey she has to do. This is like the big one. It's like the big. Scene, like from the whole scene of her in the club is just another one of, it's like an expanded one of the little scenes.

That's her battle is all these, what's in the whole thing. Does that make any sense? Yeah, I mean, it just seems like, I don't know, for a lot of, I guess not, but it almost seems like it's looping. Around on itself. Like, it sets up a scenario, then it immediately sets up another scenario that's sort of similar, which I think in a different setup, it would be okay.

Like, from there, it just took on its own little storyline, and it was all sort of her... fixing what you know horrible world she's actually living in and we had some sort of idea because everybody there is there it's almost that wizard of oz thing of like everybody that's in the real world turns up in this fantasy world and is pretty much similar but they're just, you know, they dress it up a little for this plot line. But they're always in the little fantasies too so I think it's just an extension of like that one where Each little one has this goal she has to do, and then the big one, her goal is to, it's all just a goal, little goals and a big goal, so I can understand why it has, why it switches to that. because otherwise you wouldn't have her main goal.

Yeah, I mean, I understand that it's just, it's weird that it switches gears immediately from one scenario to the next, and then it throws in these other, like, four or five little snippets of other storylines. Like, I don't know, it almost. Well, because each one of those is a goal. Do you feel overwhelmed? Well, it's almost layering it so much that I'm like.

I compared it to Inception. I'm like, so somebody gets killed, do they have to ride it back up to the top? I mean, it's like five stories in, and you're already in a fictional story, and then you get back to the asylum, and I'm just like, I don't know. There's a lot going on, if you want. I don't know, if you think about it too much, which maybe I'm just thinking about it too much.

You quite possibly could be. Crazy people have a lot of scenarios going on in their head. Are we talking about me now or her? Both. Take your pick.

I approach this from the same way that I approach any of the Resident Evils, which is. Throw everything out the window. Don't be serious about it. Go into the theater. Watch it.

Enjoy it. Pretty pictures. Lots of lights. Lots of things getting blown up. And, yeah, hot chicks, so.

It did have a lot in common with that. It is a very big action story with a hot babe in charge of it and a lot of kick-ass action scenes. So, again, I think this one's even more impressive than that visually. And Misty pointed out that she... She was saying that it looked like it was shot for 3D, and I agree with her.

A lot of the scenes that were in there, you're like, this could have been awesome as 3D. Why didn't they shoot this in 3D? Yeah. I mean, as much as I'm sick of 3D, if there's something that probably would have looked awesome, this might have been it. It just seems like they were shot specifically for 3D.

You know, the scene with the sword. Where it's like you're looking down the sword and it's all like flowing. Yeah. Or the scene with the bullets. There's bullets slowly and like, yeah.

The shell casings are coming at you and they revolve and you can see the grittiness of the powder residue on it. That's totally a 3D shot right there. Yeah, I mean, why not? You would think so, actually. Everything else is in 3D.

Maybe all the 3D cameras were checked out and they're just like, we know what we're going to do, but we don't have the technology to do it right now. Let's just. Roll with it. Check that out. They went to the 3D camera library and they were overdue.

Damn it. They all look at these other terrible movies. We'll have to come back next Wednesday. We'll be shooting by then. I'm sorry.

There's nothing we can do about it. Spielberg hasn't won. Damn it. Come on. Fucking Spielberg.

Oh, I don't know. I think another thing was just the little stories along the way. I'll get to better parts of that that I like, but I think the stories themselves, I liked them more in the beginning. Like, I think I got tired with the idea because it just got sort of repetitive. Like, they were awesome on their own, but I think, you know, especially the main, like that first scene.

Of her fighting the three warriors. Like, that is an awesome scene. And then I like her in the biplanes. I mean, it's equally as cool. But I think, like, by the time we get to the robots, I don't know.

I was just like. As she goes into the scenario again, I'm just like, okay, here we go again. And we already kind of know how it's going to go. It's kind of needed for the story because that's how they achieve each of their objectives. It's how they get their goals.

I get it. I think that's what I question more is the story. Is that it's set it up with this very specific gimmicky thing that... Almost wears its welcome out like two-thirds of the way through. Again, I think the visuals on it all is cool.

I think just structure-wise, I don't know why it... I think you've become an old movie hag. Well, yeah. Not completely old, though, because I still like that hot young chick. I'm still pervy, but....

She's legal. She's 22. Yeah, she's 23, I think. She's way older than I thought she was. Yeah, because she's still.

Way out. Of your range. Well, obviously. Out of my league. Hell, I'm gone out of my league.

Yeah, she's way too old for you. But. That's true. But, yeah, I think she just was. Marlene, are you okay over there?

I just laughed a little bit. You only laugh because it's true. It's true. And? Have you ever had a girlfriend who's older than 22?

No, I don't date outside the teens. Anyway... Although you get the creepier kids. Yeah, it's not my fault. I've tried to stop.

That's the thing about them high school girls. If you keep getting older, they stay the same. You know, that's not just a movie. For some people, it's life. Seriously.

Oh, Lord, what else? So if you see a pickup truck sitting outside your high school... It's a van. Jump in. It's a van that's for candy.

And it's raining outside. It's got a bitchin' dragon painted on the side. That's how you bring the girls in. And a wizard. With a lightning dragon.

But no unicorns, no rainbows. AstroTurf. That's a classy van right there. Okay, two of the stuff that I did like and what I think I want to give Zack Snyder most credit for is you can sort of see him getting even more impressive as a filmmaker. I think the coolest thing he did with this is he's found this way of not showing you things and that makes it so.

Much more awesome. Well, yeah, they didn't have to show her sleazy dance. The dancing, the fact that. It would lead into it and then cut away is so much more like, I don't care what kind of dance you could have done. It cannot touch how awesome it was that they just pulled away at that moment and come back and people are like floored.

Like people are just like, Oh my. And you're like, Oh my God, what just happened? Like that again, that was genius. I mean, it really works so well. And the fact that there was no blood in this entire movie.

Hardly any. Well, I mean, we can get to that in a minute. But the other thing I think on that line is when it gets to the end, and we've already thrown out the spoiler alert, but once it gets to the point of things change for her towards the very end, you don't see her at all. Like, you never see her face. That whole first, like, ten minutes or so of her going through and they're still continuing the story and all these characters are talking around her and you see her standing there.

And it's like it almost adds to the tension of it, and it adds to the drama of, oh, God, what's it going to be like? So, again, I give him credit for that. Like, that's a really cool move, and I think, you know, I don't know if he early on would have done that. I think he is progressing as a filmmaker, and I still want to see where he's going because I think visually he's impressive. He's learning weird tricks like that that are, like, amazing.

So I still think he's, like, one of the most promising directors out there. He just– he almost needs to reign in his flash. I mean, he's so– flashy about everything he does especially since 300 you know so i mean it's it's just gotta gotta put a leash on it you know i think it's definitely there and impressive but i just don't want that to overtake the you know the awesome other stuff that he can do um is it just me or was scott glenn doing his best david carey He was doing his best damn David Carradine. He was trying so hard to be David Carradine. And no, you know, points to him.

He still did a good job. And, well, in his defense, they really couldn't get David Carradine. But, I mean, tell me the other thing. Here's the thing. I don't buy David Carradine as this mystical....

Faux Asian wannabe spiritual guy I don't give a fuck if you played Kane in Kung Fu because you beat Bruce Lee out for the part because they weren't taking Asians in film cinema at that time so that's the only way you get the part but I don't buy it I never did buy him as that and it's kind of. A stretch but whatever but it is funny looking at that scene when you walk in you're like oh if they would have shot this a couple years ago. They would have used David Carradine no doubt in my mind it would have been David Carradine Oh, especially post-Kill Bill when he was like super popular again. It's like he turned up in so many little cameos in that kind of role. It's like, yeah, there's not a doubt in my mind that's who it would have been.

Yeah. Oh, let's see. Oh, back to you. You said no blood. To me, it's very obvious there was somebody possibly sitting at a desk somewhere.

I mean, maybe, I mean, some of it he does creatively, but it's very much let's keep that PG-13 cap on it. I mean, it really... Well, that's what he was saying. He said he wanted to keep it PG-13 to try to keep, I guess, for a bigger audience. Yeah.

Because once you go to that R rating, you limit your audience. See, and once you stay at PG-13, you're going to lose a lot of audience, too. It's going to be like, I don't want to watch a PG-13. Especially, I mean, as racy as they build this up to be with them in their little outfits, it's like you could almost lure people in thinking they're going to get to see a show and Which, granted, with those girls, I don't think you would get much anyway. They're all kind of high class enough.

You know, they're names at this point that you're not going to get much of a show anyway. So I don't think that hurt it. I think it's just I think more in the violence you can tell. I think when when they bother to make the the zombie guys like steam powered. So that you're not killing guys you're killing steam powered already dead like he specifically goes to the trouble.

Of saying don't worry they're already dead. So it's like it sort of pgs it up a little more where it's just like um yeah but i mean to me in on the good side that visual is awesome like them in the mask and the every time they kill them you get this big you know instead of blood you get this giant burst of steam coming out like i think what they did with it was creative and it's like the best way to go about that but I still feel like somewhere somebody went we need to keep this PG how can we do that so it's like all of her villains then become steam powered zombies and like faceless monster you know then it's like the dragon or it's the guys in suits of armor that you don't see and orcs that you know you can kill orcs all you want nobody cares so Yeah, I mean, it's...

Or the robots. I mean, everything becomes non-human-like, so it's a lot easier to just wipe them out, which they do. And this is one I saw with Greg last night, and he's not here, but I'll give him credit. He also said there's moments, especially in each of those, that are sort of reminiscent of other things. Like, you can see in the orc one the moments of...

Borders. all the Lord of the Rings battle scenes, and then the one with the robots. There's almost like a scene in iRobot that's exactly like that. So he's sort of playing from stuff we've seen, so I kind of would think him being the big name he is now, he would mix. That up a little bit more. But then you've got to understand, too, all the stuff that happens in her dreams is all stuff that happens in her world.

So, I mean, if you go back and watch, from what I read online, Online, he was saying that if you go back and watch the movie, you can see where a lot of elements that are in her dream, in that dream kind of action sequence, you can see is actually small parts in her real life. Her stepfather has a lot of books on World War II, if you notice in his library. His letter opener is a samurai sword, a small little sword. There's all kinds of little aspects that are thrown in. I don't know where she got the robot one from.

I'll have to watch it again and try to figure it out. And that is, if we're, yeah, I mean, since it's all sort of going on in her mind, I mean, it really would be. She had a steam, too, when she shoots at her sister. There's a steam that hits the pipe. Yeah, that's true.

But, I mean, it would all be drawing from your. So, I mean, if it were us, again, we would be drawing off these movies we've seen before. Which looks familiar. You can take that into account, I guess, that you're drawing from the real world, and in the real world, these movies all exist, right? So, kind of, you can go that way with it.

Um. As far as music, I mean, it's so heavy. In a way, I think it's overdone, but I will say music-wise, I also think it's good. Oh, I fucking love the music. I like what they did, mostly because it's got a very uniform feel to it, with the exception of Army of Me, which I don't care.

You can crank that up to 11 in every movie. That song is fucking awesome. Love that. That scene actually reminded me about how much I love Bjork. Yeah.

Completely. Your kid's named after Bjork. Yeah, my kid's named after Bjork's song, so. I've just, over the time, just from listening to other stuff, just kind of forgot about, you know, forgot about it and recently went back and. He tried to maybe listen to the Bjork radio station on the way up here.

But they started playing Cure because they don't play. Just what you choose. They play stuff sort of like it in their opinion. I fucking hate the Cure. I fucking hate the Friday I'm in Love song.

Because that's the only song they play on the radio. It gets stuck in my head on a repeat. That was not as good. I like some of their stuff. I don't like Robert Smith.

Wow. He's become a thing. He's become a brand almost at this point. People imitate him to a ridiculous level now. Guys in their guy liners.

Yeah. But yeah, that song is amazing in general. So, I mean, they're making use of it. But overall, I think everything else has that feel of, like, it's all a very similar style of song. It's taking songs you already know.

Yeah. So, again, I think it's almost, and it may be a very, again, conscious act that they're going to tap into that younger market since they're going for PG-13 and they know that. Because to me, it felt very much like what stuff like American Idol does now or Glee. It's like it takes songs you know and mixes them different and does it in a different way and works it in kind of quote-unquote cool these days. But out of all those songs.

Aside from the Bjork song, I don't think there were any other ones that were sung by the original artist. They're all covers. It was all covers, and it was all a very similar style, too. That's what I think. It gives the whole rest of the movie that uniform feel, but yet they're working in different songs.

Along the way. Yeah, you got an Iggy Pop song. What else? Eurythmics. Eurythmics, yeah.

I think there's a. I like that rap song that had Queen in it. Yeah, there's a Queen mashup. The White Rabbit. Yeah, White Rabbit.

Jefferson Airplane. But then. Love that song. That's an awesome song. It does things that are sort of...

Again, I think we are... It's very much taking this turn trying to tap into that youth market. And I don't know that it's doing it in a tacky way. I think it found the best way to do it. It is working in a reworking of music the way that is popular now.

I think it's also doing... it's super video game oriented. So it's kind of tapping into the, I mean the same thing that like, um, Scott Pilgrim was trying to do a very different style, but I think it's like, let's take video games and work them into the real world. Even if it's a fictionalized real world, like it's, it's trying to make a more real version of, you know, what we see in video games. So I think it does it well, but I think it's, it's definitely trying to tap into, again, if you. Show, that's what I was thinking last night.

I was like, if you showed this movie to somebody like 50 years ago, their head might explode. Like, I mean, it's stuff that did not exist. Like they're, they're drawing all the music videos and the video games. It's like the references that they're not going to get. I don't even know how you.

Would process it. You know, not that that's a possibility, but I'm just. Thinking it's so like in the last 25 years, like everything is based so young that I'm just like, I don't know how this would stand up to somebody, you know, an older generation of somebody that didn't come along in the video game generation or the kids that watched anime and stuff like that. I think it, it pulls so heavily from those that I think it's, I don't know. It works on that level and maybe it's only going to work to people from this point on.

Like, I don't know. It won't problem people, people that are, I don't know, like older than 50, you know, or hell, you never know. There are some people that are older than 50 to get an anime. You never know. But sometimes for the majority of people that didn't grow up in the whole, I don't know, the whole gen X, gen Y type thing.

Yeah. Yeah, yeah, they're not going to get it. They're going to look at it and go, well, there's just a lot of crap going on here. What the hell is all this? It's noisy.

There's a lot of explosions. Yeah, sure is. See, I'm not that cranky old man yet. Give it to them. Where the hell did they go?

She was over here. I thought she was in an insane asylum. Now she's on a train? What the hell? Confusion.

There ain't no jetpacks in World War II. Kids got their new thing on their gut, dang it. Steam-powered zombies. I never fought steam-powered zombies. So, I don't know.

Again, I really liked parts of it. I think it's still definitely worth seeing. It's amazing to look at. I have issues with. The structure and the story somewhat, but again, not enough to make you not want to go see it.

I think it's still amazing. It's an amazing visual feat, if nothing else. And you guys like it. I fucking loved this. I love that a lot.

I was surprised at the end. Should we do like full-blown spoiler alert? Yeah. Full-on. Here we go.

I was fucking kind of surprised that they went in and lobotomized the bitch. Yeah, really? I was like. I fucking love it. I mean, I was waiting for them to save her at the last minute, and then he's just.

Like, clink! And I was like, oh! See, part of me was surprised. I kept waiting. I kept waiting for them, like, because they weren't showing her face.

I'm like, it's going to be Sweet Pea, and, like, Babydoll's in figment of her complete imagination or something. So I'm like, oh, well, fuck. I love Babydoll. They really. I mean, they set it up for that.

So I was just like, that's where it should have gone. But at the same time, you kept thinking, again, I guess it's very un-Hollywood. I mean, normally they would... find a way to save the day, and they turn it around and make it a happy ending. No, no. They follow up, and they finish the story.

It was like a halfway happy ending. Sweet Pea got a happy ending, but I figured it would be like when Sweet Pea went home, it was her paradise, that maybe Sweet Pea was the one at the bottom of us. But no, I was like, well, fuck me or anything. They totally just did that. Wow.

Yeah. So I don't know. Again, I mean, there's parts of it that are very. cliche and there are parts that are actually original and invented so. It's like it's it's a weird mixture of a movie but i thought. It was a fun movie just as long as you're not expecting too incredibly much if you're going to expecting a good time a fun movie it was god i was as soon as the credits started rolling and the bitches started cackling laughing behind me i was about to fucking kill people because as soon as it started as soon as the credits i.

Oh, yeah, I know. I was just like, oh, God, shut up. I don't know if. They just were laughing because they thought it was that bad. Several times during the movie, I thought I heard him say, like, what?

What? What's going on? Well, yeah, it was an older group of people that had no fucking clue, so. See, I just had trendy kids at our show. We had a wide variety.

Yeah, they were all, like, maybe just above legal teenage years. They all seemed about. See, most of ours. Were all, like, college group, and then we had older our age, and then we had. Some even older, which was probably the group that was behind scaffolding.

What? What's going on? And then once the corral doors opened at the end, they moved their way out and got back onto. The cattle truck and took off down the road, cackling all the way. They'll be back next week to watch their dumb comedy.

Yeah. So. Oh, well. I don't know. It's definitely still impressive.

And, yeah. I don't know. It's all just sold by our main girl there. Emily Browning. Emily Browning.

Yeah, she's. Yeah. It's one of those, I think with different casting, it really could have gone a long way. Like she, and it's another one, I want to see where she goes because she hasn't done a lot of stuff in her adult life now. So it's like, I really i think she proves herself as being able to carry this because she has so little dialogue i mean you go like 15 20 minutes before she says a word i.

Know that's kind of thrown off by that too i'm like is the bitch gonna. Talk yeah and i was like so i think again with what little she shows she still kind of shows a lot of emotion and she brings a hell of a lot of like badass attitude to it so it's like i kind of want to see where she goes and in maybe a more traditional movie i want to see what she will deliver just on that kind. Of movie so all. Right anything else no. That does it for sucker punch i'll take a break and be back with the rest of the show.

We watched Sucker Punishment. And you didn't like it. I loved it. I have issues with it. It's got a lot of good points to it.

Isn't it getting really horrible reviews? Right before I left this morning, I logged on just long enough to see that just the headline made it sound like it was not doing well, both financially and maybe bad reviews. I don't know. I was expecting it to do better just financially, if nothing else, just because it's Zack Snyder at this point. It's a bunch of half-naked chicks with guns.

It looks awesome just trailer-wise, but yeah. How could you not like that movie? I mean... Like a video game on screen. One of the other shows described it as like a 13-year-old boy's id.

I was like, yeah, that's a pretty good description. That is a good description. I did see the preview and thought, I probably won't necessarily. Guns and scantily clad girls and monsters. Dragons.

Orcs. Yeah. How long can you go? Explosions. I like explosions.

Nobody here but us chickens. Well, that's going to round out this week's episode. But we'll be back next week with more coverage, if you want to call it that, from. Here at the convention. Plus we'll have our exclusive interview with actress Diane Franklin.
