Hi, this is Doug Bradley, pinhead from the Hellraiser Films. You're listening to Movie Meltdown. You better keep listening to Movie Meltdown or I will. Tear your soul apart. The following feature has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.

It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised. It's showtime, folks. Enjoy the show. Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power. God's an astronaut.

Ours is over the rainbow. The medium is where the monsters live. What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian. I am Misty.

I'm Jake. And we're coming to you live via digital recording from the outskirts of Lexington, Kentucky, home of Scarefest. No, we're still in Lexington, Kentucky. Yeah. We're far away from the event, though.

But we're close to the bookstore. Which is the most important part. Duh. So, it's been a while. How's it going, guys?

How's it going? How's it going for you, sir? Okay. Over-peopled? No.

No. No, I didn't really get bothered by people today. Just me? No. No more than usual.

I don't know. I feel like this year's gone by really fast. I know. What the fuck? It's October already?

I know. I was like, man, it's already Halloween times and time for Scarefest. My birthday? It's always your birthday. Always, but never, because that way I don't have to get older.

So, where do we begin on our Scarefest activities? We waited in line for a long time. Which is more than I normally do, but for this situation, I was okay with it. Yeah, it was totally, I don't remember, I don't know how long we actually waited in line. I feel like it really wasn't as long.

I think I just, I rarely have patience for lines, so I try not. At this point, I'm like, most people, I'm like, eh, I don't really need their autograph. But we made up for it by not waiting in line when we got to the convention, because we waited until, like, everybody got in. We did let all the suckers get out of the way and, like, cruised in later in the day, so. That's a strategy.

Almost three. Total strategy. So do we jump right to it then? I mean, that was the first thing we did. I mean, so.

Yeah, it was. Because we were like, if we're doing this, let's go do it now. Make sure he's ready to go. We're ready to go. Everything's cool.

He's not ready to go. We're ready to go. I mean, he's as ready to go as he's going to anymore. Do you want to tell them? We waited in line for the illustrious and iconic and.

Legendary. Legendary. He is a fucking legend. He is. You know, he's a legend.

He's an icon. He's. Fucking Clive Barker. I mean, how can you not? It's Clive Barker.

That's what I was thinking. I wasn't sure how much I was doing at all this weekend. And then I saw that and I was like, huh. You know, actually. I have this poster signed by Boone.

That's what I was going to say. At first I was like, well, Misty might want to go just for books. Because, you know, he writes books and stuff. And I've actually read several of his books. And then I was like, well, I've been like, as the geek that I am that loves Nightbreed.

I got a Nightbreed poster, and after I got Boone to sign it, I was like, well, I already know these other guys that are in Nightbreed, so let me get them to sign it. So I've accumulated a couple of signatures on it already. I was like, wouldn't it be freaking cool if Clive Barker, not only the man who came up with the story, but director of that movie, signed it himself. So that kind of cinched it. I was like, all right, let's make this happen.

Well, that and the more I read about the fact that he's going to apparently stop doing conventions. That's definitely what put a fire under it right now. And he's, what, 72? Yeah, he's not getting younger. None of us are, really.

So, I mean, I can't say anything. And he's had a, you know, it seems like a rough 72. Yeah, he's had some medical issues, and that's a lot to deal with in and of itself. But, yeah. But he was there, trooping along, you know, signing stuff, selling art, you know.

And as we said, more with it than a lot of other people we talked to. Hell yeah. You never know when you're getting with some people and regardless of age, but definitely as they get up there, sometimes you don't know what you're dealing with when you get up to the table. But yeah, he seemed like he was on top of things. So yeah, that's cool.

I mean, he's responsible for some of the most epic like horror movies that have existed in our, you know, in my life at least. I mean, Hellraiser, fucking, he said Nightbreed, fucking Candyman. He wrote it, you know? I don't think he had anything to do with like the directing it, but. He did the first several, though.

I think Candyman he handed off to somebody else. But yeah, I'm pretty sure Hellraiser and Nightbreed and maybe Hellraiser 2. That whole first run, which is what I was kind of fascinated by. I was like, if he had time, again, he had a lengthy line and was moving through it at a good pace. So good for him for that.

When you can have that amount of line and your minimum price for autographs is $ 100. I mean, you're Clive Barker. You do what you gotta do. I don't blame him at this point. I mean, seriously, he had to be pulling in some shit this weekend because there was a lot of people.

And at $ 100 a pop, dude, seriously. Good for him. More power to him. That's what I'd be doing if I were him at this point. I'll do it right now.

Somebody give me $ 100, I'll scribble some stuff. I can't even read my signature when I do it, so it's even more priceless. And he signed mine in red, and it looks good. Mine at least stands out. It's in yellow.

Unlike some directors I might not mention. who signed a black poster with a black Sharpie. Dude, come on now. So Clive, super cool, picked a color that you can actually see on the poster. Because he's a fucking artist. Damn skimpy.

I like his art, too. Had I, you know, five grand to blow on some art, dude, seriously, I would have gone for that. There were several of them I would hang in my home if I had this massive home where I had wall space to hang things, which I no longer do. I'm going to be lucky to cram this Nightbreed mini poster up somewhere. But I'm going to because it has awesome signatures on it.

Hell yeah, it does. Then we walked around. Walking around. A lot of people. People.

Looking at people. A ridiculous amount of celebrities. Dude. That's what I was telling you. As I went through the list this year, I'm scrolling and scrolling and scrolling.

And you keep scrolling. I was like, good lord. They've always been awesome, but they have added so many people over the years. They've just continued to get bigger and bigger. Their roster these last couple years is just like, everybody that does conventions is at Scarefest now.

I think this is the first time I've seen Rose McGowan out to this one. Yeah, I think I've seen her in recent years starting to do stuff, but yeah, I don't think we've seen her this far. And I gotta say, goddamn. I've heard some stories, but yeah, she looked pretty damn cute, gotta say. I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw her, I thought somebody had either a life-size cutout or a mannequin of Rose McGowan, because she didn't look real.

She was so cute, you know? Well, maybe it was like a standee, and you could buy it and take it home. But then she was moving. Maybe he's one of those real lifelike. You gotta pay extra for that.

One of those lenticular things that you tilt her a different way. But yeah, she was just so cute. And her little outfit. She had like a little jumpsuit on. Oh my god.

So cute. On the other side of the spectrum, you had Jamie Kennedy. I didn't even see him. I just saw the picture you showed me earlier. You didn't see him?

He was standing right there. I saw his table and went, nah, I've seen enough of him in the past. I'm fine. Again, as I told you, last time I saw him at a convention, he was under the table. Probably for the best.

As I passed by. And I was like, yeah, I'm good. Definitely don't think I need a Jamie Kennedy episode. So I'm good. Saw the lines out the door for Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard.

Holy shit. I'm so glad Skeet's got a line, though. Because when we saw him that one time. He didn't have a line. It was all waiting for Matthew Lillard.

And I'm like, don't get me wrong. Shaggy's cool and all. But what the hell? Skeet's right here. Come on, people.

So, yeah, this time he had a really good line. The wolf had a good line. Everybody, well, most people had a good line, I would say. Except for when they made the announcement that Jamie Kennedy doesn't have a line. Like, yeah, rub it in.

They called him out. I'm like, dude, even the fucking wolf has a line. How does Jamie Kennedy not got a line? Yeah, there is, unless you haven't been to this event. There is a live wolf that you can, like, donate money and then go have a picture, sort of in the vicinity of, hopefully not close enough for him to eat your face.

But, you know, whatever. And yeah, there was a big old line that we got stuck at. And I was like, who is this? Oh, it's the wolf. I was like, well, wolf deserves it.

Totally understandable. Wolf's super cool. Doesn't even need security. Yeah. He's his own security.

He's a badass. Yeah, it was awesome. I bought a couple things. I already forgot what they are. So you bought some, were they 3D printed?

Yeah, 3D printed. A little moth. I was a bat. I was a bat? Oh, I thought it was a mothman.

And a little skeleton. Yeah, I couldn't see. And I bought an air freshener. I was trying to stand out of the way. Because there were a lot of people trying to get in and out of the booth.

Yeah, it's kind of hard. There's no place to actually be out of the way. You're kind of in the way all the time, even when you're out of the way. I went across where they had backpacks where they were showing movies on the back of the backpack. And I kind of want one of those.

Because then we could go to an event and you could take your backpack and you could watch a movie. It's not the most convenient thing if you're wearing the backpack, but I was still impressed with the technology that the backpack was showing a movie on the back of you. Well, see, the idea is for all these up-and-coming indie directors is they can play their movie on the backpack while they're walking around the convention. I mean... Or while you're in line behind them.

Yeah, that too. These crazy kids today, they do all kinds of weird stuff, so it actually wouldn't surprise me if that's the new optimum way for them to experience a film is to have it on their backpack while they're walking yeah kids. Are weird i'm gonna say a lot i saw a lot of velmas today. Yeah velma's got her. I didn't see one daphne.

Which is unusual at least there's somebody that wants to be cute and just dressed like daphne. Yeah because i mean you gotta think it's convention so are. You gonna say most of the people at conventions are chunky And therefore could dress more as Velma than Daphne. No, actually I was going to say that most people at the conventions are nerds. And most nerds usually.

She's like a nerd hero. Yeah, she's a nerd hero. And I wasn't saying anything bad about people at conventions. I myself am extremely chunky. We are convention people.

Come on now. But I figured more people identify with Velma than they do with Daphne. Yeah. Probably. You didn't see any Freds walking around, did you?

No, this is definitely not a Fred crowd. Yeah. Conventions in general are not a Fred crowd. No. No, you rarely ever, I don't think I've ever seen a Fred.

I always see shaggies. I'm sure that, I don't know how many people I've offended by saying that chunky people. I am extremely overweight, so. Hey, I resemble that remark. Speaking of crazy people, you also were excited to see your pal Devin Sawa.

Oh my good lord, he is still hot. I don't know why you didn't go up and tell him you were his biggest fan. Yeah. He'd be like, what the fuck? He's like, get away from me.

Yeah. But it made me want to tell you about that movie. So I had to look up the, I tried to block out as much as I could. It's called The Fanatic. If you guys listening weren't here, like, I remember years ago, like Dick and I, Dick Starr was on and was telling me about it.

And I was in awe. I was like, wait, what? What is this thing? So, and then I watched it and I was like, oh, you weren't lying. Like, this is a real thing.

So yeah, Devin Sawa plays essentially Devin Sawa with a different name. And he's a guy who makes lots of horror movies and he goes to conventions and he does like signings of stuff. And there's a dude that shows up and is, we'll say, old school, we'd say special. Now I'd say he's most definitely on the spectrum at some magical point that who knows what. But he plays it real special, let's just say.

And this character is played by John Troll. John Travolta's already kind of weird as a dude. That's what you say. Yeah, if you add into that him trying to do a special needs performance, it's cringy is probably, I don't know that cool kids use that word. More cringy than Billy Bob Thornton playing Sling Blade.

Yeah, kind of. Because at least, like, Billy Bob's almost doing it at, like, Oscar caliber level. Like, he's trying to win an award. But, like, this is a schlocky horror movie kind of a crowd. I was going to say Simple Simon or Simple Jack.

I was going to say Simple Jack, yeah. I can't remember his name. I referenced that earlier. I was like, there's a rule, and John Travolta did not follow that rule. Oh, man.

He did not. He is pretty far down that road. He went full. I'm not going to say it. I've already offended people like myself that are chubby.

I don't want to offend others like me who are also special. Did you offend yourself? You're very special. How about that? Put that aside.

This one, I told you, the only thing to put it even more in perspective. Keep in mind, it is directed and co-written by Fred Durst. Backwards Cap, we're in Fred Durst. He's hanging out with fucking Corey, or Feldman. Yeah.

If only, but no. Unfortunately, Feldman. Isn't he, like, producing Corey Feldman's videos now? Something like that. The fact that he has videos is what's frightening, really.

But, yeah, he's stellar director these days, Fred Durst, so. Yeah. Yeah, that's what you get when you put all these together, so. The one that comes out the best is Devin Sawa, who plays Devin Sawa, and it's just fine, because he's good at being Devin Sawa. He's so hot.

Yeah. Because he was walking. We were waiting in line for Clive Barker. And I'm like, he started walking by. And I'm like.

And you oh so suddenly was like, there goes Devin Sala. I did too. And I was like, cool. You're playing it real cool. Like I said, I don't exist in Devin Sala's world.

If he heard me at all, it would just be a slight buzz in the background. He could have swatted you away. I know. Go away, buzzy girl. I was over there in the corner, minding my own business.

Except for the yelling. Hanging out with the bat. Devon Sawa! Devon Sawa! I didn't yell that bat loud.

Just enough to make my point known. I mean, I'm sure he gets that most places. Oh, duh. I mean, if I was fucking Devon Sawa, I would be disappointed if I didn't get that every once in a while. Who else did we see that was fucking...

I mean... Aside from the other autograph that I bought, who I've already got the autograph before, and I was just sitting there, like, just fucking amazed. I don't think he's aged. That one is impressive, because, yeah, there's plenty of people there. We won't name names.

But there's some people in particular, like, whoa, I haven't seen him in a while. Good golly. Reggie? Time moved on, didn't it? Damn.

So, that happens. Reggie's another one of those whose years have not been easy. But Don Coscarelli, I... I fucking love Don Cross, really. I can't say his name for shit, apparently.

But goddamn, he's just so nice. He's super cool. For being also just a total geek who's into the same stuff that everybody there is. He's probably spending equally as much time running around other people's tables. He was sitting there wearing a Suspiria shirt.

Of course, because it's awesome and he knows it. Old school Suspiria, not the remake. Well, duh. But the remake's impressive. I'm pretending the remake didn't happen.

I like the remake. I don't put it in the same category as... As the original. But it was well made. We'll put it that way.

But on the going to see Don Cascarelli. There's a nice tie in there. About the fanatic. With a crazy person that shows up. And stands at their signing table.

Would you like to go into the guy in front of you? I understand people get excited about stuff. And that's cool. Be prepared. Yeah be prepared.

And check yourself man. When they're getting ready to. Because you know. These guys, a lot of times they're doing like a. There's a schedule.

They have a schedule and they're doing like, you know, Q & A stuff or doing photo ops and stuff like that. Don't be the asshole that sits there and has to carry on like a 45 minute conversation when there's other people that are waiting in line. It's like, get your shit signed. Say what you need to say and get the fuck. Out of the way.

This guy would have. Kept fucking talking. I got one more thing. I got one more thing. I got one.

Let me find it in my bag. It's like, dude, have all your shit. Have it arranged. Have it ready. You know?

Dig through your fucking 50 fucking laser discs that you brought with you. I pulled the first one out. I looked down at your record tote bag that he had down at his feet. And I was like, I'm motioning to it going, holy shit, look at that. I know.

I was looking at it too. I was like, good God, that can't be. He's not getting all those signs. I know. I was like, you can't afford that, dude.

No wonder he had shitty posture. I mean, he was fucking looking around. And he probably carries around with him everywhere he goes. He probably does that thing. He's in the grocery store telling that same story to the lady ringing him up.

And then this one time in Phantasm 2, she's like, sir, do you have your card? I need to scan your card. Yeah. And move along. Yeah.

Type in your loyalty number. But dude, seriously, but you know, it was worth it because Don Coscarelli, he's Again, a fucking icon otherwise. I mean, I wouldn't have wasted my time. And again, he's a super cool dude because he was being a sport. He was just like, yeah, okay, he's playing along and he's listening to the stories.

He wasn't like, ugh. I've seen plenty of people be, maybe to me, just kind of like, ugh, dude, go away. Let me sign this for you and move the hell out of the way. He was being super cool. I was like, yeah, okay, and looking at all his stuff and he was being awesome.

Maybe he's better at dealing with people than we are. Obviously. Well, that guy just, I mean, it was a throwback. Like, it's the same dude I've been dealing with since working at a video store. It's like those same weird, obsessive guys, mostly all guys.

Occasionally, that's not true. Occasionally, there would be some super weird girls, but I think now it's way more plentiful to run into girls like that, too. But you would get these guys that would come in and it wasn't that it was Don Coscarelli this time. We would have them come in and do the same thing. Like they would tell us the same stupid stories for 45 minutes and maybe be carrying in a whole bunch of their own shit in a place you don't need to be bringing your own shit.

But they wanted to show it off to other nerds and just like, guys, seriously, what the fuck? Settle down. Well, that's before YouTube channels. It's before everybody could geek out over. This is my such and such and I've got autograph this and over here is that.

You know. But it's also a different level of like antisocial behavior. Like now I think most like again, most dorky kids are like already have antisocial built in. So like they realize they don't want to talk to people and they don't and they leave it at that. whereas there's like an older generation that like doesn't have the people skills but also doesn't have the self-realization to acknowledge that and they still think they're being normal and cool on the outside whereas everyone around them is like oh My God, if you don't shut up. I'd like to think that I was okay.

Because I warned the lady who was there, I guess, trying to be like, all right, the photo op is coming up. I'm like, it's just me? Yeah. I promise I won't be as long as this guy. I'm not going to take that long.

That guy was still standing there. Yeah, she was kind of trying to get him to. Wrap it up. Wrap it up, sir. Wrap it up.

Wrap it up. And again, it's like it's not fair to everybody else that's in line that you got to stand there and yammer on for a half an hour. And then everybody's got to rush through and only maybe get five minutes to say, hey, really love that film. All right. Thanks.

All right. See you. Well, and they're. Again, that's what's dangerous about it is they're just self-aware enough because I do... I'm trying not to pay attention to his yammering, but at one point he did look around and go, well, and now while the line's not so crazy, let me tell you about this.

And I'm like, okay, so you looked over and you saw there's a dude in front of you at the time who wandered off because he was sick of waiting. Then you were there and we were behind you. He didn't know we weren't in line. There was somebody behind us. I'm like, you're looking at like six or seven people over here and you're still going...

Now, I acknowledge that they're there, but screw that. It's not 20 people, so it's okay for me to keep talking. I'm like, dude. Yeah, that one guy in front of us was like, dude, fuck this. I gotta go.

He got time for you. He walked off. He was done-sies. He was done. Yeah, I think it was about the time that guy pulled out his fourth Laserdisc.

He was like, nah, I'm not doing this. Nah, I just want to show you this one. Yeah, he didn't want him to sign that one, because that one didn't have anything to do with him. That was Angus. Thanks.

And be sure to show me Munchy 2. I definitely need to look at Munchy 2. Is what Don didn't say because he's cool. But that's what I'm thinking because I'm an asshole. I mean, he did thank me for my kind words about Beastmaster, even though I'm pretty sure I've read multiple times that he does not like that.

Well, again, he obviously loved the idea initially. I think he got kind of shafted by the studio and they made a lot of changes he didn't like. So I don't think he likes the finished product because it's not the way he envisioned it kind of thing. So Not to, you know, make it like he doesn't actually like Beastmaster. Obviously, he loved the idea.

He made it. And he did talk about the glorious vision that would be Mark Singer. A young, handsome, studly Mark Singer. When he took the robe off. I can only imagine being in the first person presence of such a glorious.

Standing directly in front of him as he disrobed. I mean, seriously. He was a glorious... I mean, he was glorious. And he wasn't as oily as he was in the second one.

He wasn't as cut. Well, that was the thing. Like in the, all the way up through the 80s, even guys that were in shape weren't like cut. Like it's not something they worried about. They were just like, I'm a badass.

I can kick your ass. I've got arm muscles. That's all that's important. It wasn't until like 90s and on we started getting into that. I need to be ripped.

I need a six pack. Rip like Jesus. Rip like Jesus. Rip like Jesus. Yeah, exactly.

So yeah, I think that was just a different aesthetic. So you can see. From the first Beastmaster when he's just like a dude that's in badass shape versus I am cut like you wouldn't freaking believe in part two. And then there's oil. And you got to oil up because you got to get all the definition on the extra super muscly parts.

I wonder if he got his body oil from the sax guy. I hope so. If not now, I mean, everybody should go get it and buy it in bulk from the sax guy. He's coming back, by the way. Or is he going to play Ed O?

I think he's going to play the same play. Is it still there? It's still there. Well, I think they changed hands. But yeah, it's still there with that same title and he's coming back again.

So you can go sit and watch that show probably, the same show again. I feel like he does that show everywhere he goes. But it's a good show. It is a good show. Why would you bother changing things if it works?

Yeah. Sexy sex man. Hell yeah. Can't go wrong with that. You truly can't.

He's the coolest. He is. Much like Don. Tom was super cool. Now if he could just fucking bring Mark Singer with him next time.

I don't know. We keep trying. We keep trying. So he's still out there. For now.

And that wasn't a threat, I promise. Let's not push it. Who else did we see that we were like, oh, look at that. There was a lot of masked dudes. They had like every Michael Myers that ever existed.

And every fucking ghost face, I think. And terrifiers. I'm sick of They're the clown people. Terrifiers. Whatever.

I haven't seen the movie, so. I know. People love it. I'm not going to knock you for liking it. I just.

I eventually want to see it. I just haven't. And again, it's been built up so much now. I'm like, I don't think I'm going to appreciate it because it can't live up to how much people have hyped it and like constantly dropped it everywhere on the internet. And I'm like, eh, whatever.

Memes. Who cares? I don't even know the premise of the movie, except from there being a clown. I don't know anything about the premise of the movie or anything. That was enough for me.

I was like, I think I'll watch something else. You don't mind. Was there anybody from Silent Hill that were there? Because there were a lot of pyramid heads. I think it's just a go-to at any convention.

Is it just a go-to? I think it is. There's at least three. I like the pink girly guy. Yeah, there was a super girly pyramid head.

She was so cute. Again, she was super cute, so she usually didn't wear the pyramid on her head. She had it on a post and was just displaying how awesome her pink pyramid head was, but then she didn't want to mess up her hair, so she didn't really wear it. Meanwhile, the other shirtless, muddied up dude was walking around with his pyramid head on. Yeah, I saw at least two pyramid heads.

Maybe three. I saw three total, including the girl. Oh, yeah. My favorite costume, though, The entire thing that I saw was the Mothman with the lamp girl. That was really cool.

I didn't see that one. It was right after we saw Don Coscarelli, I think. Oh. Yeah. Because you even told them.

I mean, you interacted with people. I did. Oh, you actually told something to somebody? Yes. Oh, I don't even remember that.

Craziness. It was the very last aisle we went in before we were leaving. I don't remember. It was a Mothman, and it was a girl, and she was dressed as a lamp. That's funny.

Yes. And I was just like, oh my God, that's amazing. That is awesome. Because it was. I don't know if I saw anybody where I was just like, hey, that's an awesome costume.

There were a lot of good costumes there, but I don't think there was anybody. That I was just like... We saw the Cenobite girl. I didn't see her. How did you not see her?

I didn't see her. She had her fucking scalp blade open. Oh, oh, wait. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.

That girl. I saw. Yeah, I saw her. That's right. It was because I was getting ready to say.

Yeah, hers was pretty good. I was getting ready to say, how did we not see any Cenobites? How was there no pinheads there? Yeah. Then I remember we saw her.

It was just her. And Doug wasn't there. Oh, yeah, but still, you got Hellraiser. I guess that didn't fuel it. We had the rest of the Hellraiser crew.

The usual suspects were there, but yeah. And Vince. Vince came in and looked at the artwork over at. I was waiting for somebody to yell at him for not having a mask on. Eh, he's Vince.

He doesn't have to. Yeah, he's British. He don't have germs. He's too fancy for germs. We saw our friend Greg Nicotero, friend of the show.

He's so awesome. He is very cool. Billy Zane. You love that look Billy Zane was sporting? Ugh.

Dude, I want to like Billy Zane, but he makes it so hard. He just always dresses, like, oddly fancy. Oh, you know, when we walked out, he kind of cracked a smile. It was just kind of like, he didn't look too goofy. He just dresses, like, kind of like...

He's just kind of fancy. Well, it's not even fully fancy. It's not like three-piece suit fancy. He dresses like a douche. It's kind of preppy douche from an 80s movie.

Like, he's always got, like, the little driving cap on. Sometimes he wears the gloves to go with it. I swear last time I saw him, he had like a scarf, but it was like thrown over one shoulder. Like he's always got. Some sort of.

I swear to God, if that motherfucker shows up with a goddamn ascot, I don't know what I'm going to do. You're going to be. Mucker fucker. I can't even speak. You're going to be super impressed because he's wearing an ascot.

Smoking jacket. Dude, we should piece together like. Some decoupage art of like Billy Zane in the worst possible douchey outfit that he could possibly wear. And then have him sign that. He'll probably be like, oh, I like this one.

I remember. This is my favorite shirt. How else did we see that was awesome? The biggest star in the world, the creeper truck. Obviously.

I'm going to talk to the truck. Get him to sign a picture. Get him to sign it. He rolls a dirty tire over a piece of paper and you take that home. And then they had a guy in there wearing the outfit, signing autographs.

I'm like, dude, the guy who was in the fucking movies over there. What are you, who are you? I'm in the costume. Obviously I'm the creeper. He's cosplayer, which the creeper dude was cool.

We've talked to him before. And that's something I didn't see at this convention was like, maybe, maybe there's no cosplayers doing, you know, how like a lot of the comic conventions, there's like cosplay girls and they're, they're taking pictures, uh, At booths. At booths, like, for money. I didn't see any horror cosplay girls, which is kind of odd, because I figured they would have cashed in on that area, too. We were kind of, like, speeding through it there for a while, though, so we might have just missed it.

Maybe. Maybe. By the time I got over-peopled, I was like, all right, this is awesome, but yeah, I need to go. I want to go see Don Coscarelli. There's only so much we can interact with the humans.

I want to go see Don Coscarelli, and then I want to go. Yeah. I do like the air freshener I bought for my car, though. It's a It's the Mystic Seer little devil skull, not devil skull, devil head that's on there with, you know, the Shatner episode. Saw Courtney Gaines.

He's cool. Outlander! Saw Roach. Which apparently, I was telling you, this is his 10-year anniversary. They met 10 years ago at the convention, so they were renewing their vows.

Now I'm confused. Did they meet 10 years ago? Did they get married 10 years ago? I don't know. I told you that's dangerous territory because you're just fueling the fire for every geek out there that's like.

You mean I missed my shot with Devin Sawa? But not with Don Cascarone. I say go for it. Dude, you saw his shirt. He's super cool.

I know, right? But yeah, I feel like every one of those people that's like, one day, one day I will totally marry Phyllis Rose and she'll be awesome and we'll be together. I'll learn the hard way. It wasn't just a movie. It wasn't a stand-in after all.

Oh God, I thought it was fake. I thought it was fake. Well, she's a delightful person. She's adorable. I love Phyllis Rose.

She has a good sense of humor about the whole thing. She is definitely, like, she has leaned into it. Like, many people would be, like, mortified by the fact that that's, like, the defining moment in their career. And she's like, screw that. Like, people love it.

I'm going to go with it. Like, she's super cool. Has she done anything else? I mean, she's still making horror movies. She's got, like, a huge, like, following in just the horror circles.

So she still turns up in stuff pretty regularly. She made another movie, obviously, because when I got my picture signed, when I got to the sleepaway camp, Autograph. She signed another picture for free and gave it to me, and I have no idea what that movie was. Yeah, because she's making a lot of new movies. I mean, it's like low-budget horror a lot of times, but again, she knows her crowd, so she sticks with it.

Cool. Yeah. Judy wasn't there this time, though. Judy. She's a delight, too.

I started following her after we met her last time, and every once in a while, she just posts another picture of her, like. Sideways ponytail. Hell yeah. Wearing a shirt that says her own name on it, and. Why don't I do that?

She likes a lot of the fan artwork she comes across. I'm just going to start wearing a shirt that has Misty across it and a sideways ponytail. That, I don't doubt, actually. Is that just to hers? Because I don't like ponytails.

Like, two ponytails? Braided pigtails? Because I can have my own thing. Braided pigtails is pretty cool. One braided side pig ponytail.

I mean, braided on the side is a different thing. You don't normally see that. Yeah, you don't see that. We saw Marcy Darcy. Depending on where she was in the series, yes, eventually she was Marcy Darcy.

That's more fun to say. She is always cool. Marcy Rhodes just isn't as fun to say as Marcy Darcy. But that guy. He was cute in the day.

He's adorable. Come on. Whatever happened to him? I don't know. Ted McGinley?

Is that his name? He became the curse of every sitcom. Jefferson? Jefferson came in usually and ruined the sitcom and it went under almost immediately. Except when he showed up on Married with Children because you can't defeat Married with Children.

You can't. They only stopped when they got tired of doing it. They were like, dude, it's like 11 years. We're tired. We want to do other stuff.

Yeah. Otherwise, they would have kept on rolling. Jefferson can't defeat them. Yeah, they had like a lot of people. They had like epic, like iconic things too.

Like, you know, Fright Night people. They had fucking Chris Sarandon was there. The guy, William Ragsdale. Is that his name? Yeah.

William Ragsdale was there. They were doing a lot of. A lot of reunion stuff. I think that usually suckers people in. Wasn't the friend there too or did he cancel?

Which friend? Stephen Jeffries? Was he there? I think he was there, yeah. Was he the one that I thought?

I think, yeah, you thought he was a different person. I thought he was a person. I was like, no, that's it. I just saw a small picture on my phone and I'm just like, she had short hair. Maybe that's her.

But we saw her there and that was a totally different person. She was way cuter than him. She's way cuter than him. It was a small picture. Amanda's adorable.

Come on now. She was. Still mad Mark Singer still hasn't come to a convention around me? I think he's just avoiding you because he knows you're living the dream. You've got the same fantasy.

One day it'll be our 10 year anniversary. We met at the convention and we got married immediately. And I oiled him up right there at the ceremony. Well, duh. I mean, would you blame me?

No offense, boyfriend. I mean, you know. You can come to the wedding if you want. Your list isn't laminated. It's fine.

Yeah. He never laminated. Well, we had an awesome time. We did. We want to discuss things we've seen lately.

Only thing we've seen lately, aside from the ID channel on multiple, multiple murder shows. You watch a lot of murder shows. We do, which is why the only thing we've actually, the only movie that we successfully watched would be... another repeat showing of I Know What You Did Last Summer, so I'm not really sure what we could rehash to make it not the same thing that it's always been. Awesome. One of the greatest movies ever.

I fucking love that movie. I don't even give a shit. It's, again, like, it knows what it's doing, and it does it so well. Like, even just the trailer. I always, like, reference that as, like, one of.

The most awesome trailers. And the soundtrack. Hold on. Again, because it, like, banks on that awesome soundtrack in the trailer. It cuts everything so perfectly with the music.

Like, it is just perfectly put together that, like, I remember the first time I saw it, I went, oh, shit, I need to see that. Every time I see the trailer now, I'm like, the same thing happens. I'm just like, ah, shit, I need to rewatch that. Like, it's just, it's so awesome. And then it reminds me, oh, yeah, I do need to watch that movie again because it's awesome.

And I always forget that Anne Heche's in it. And then I'm like, oh, yeah, she's dead, isn't she? Yeah. That sucks. She's not cool.

I'm glad we didn't see her at a convention. Yeah, she's crazy. I've not only heard stories, but I've heard her on a podcast before and she was not very nice. So, no offense, rest in peace or whatever. I'm just glad I'm not hanging out with her.

Yeah, that movie. I fucking love it. I'll hang out with love instead. But yeah, my whole thing is, because I was a big fan of the book, and I'm not going to compare the two, but I never can remember who the killer is, or why, how I get- Gordon Fisherman? Because I can never remember.

I'm like, hold on, wait, who got killed? How does this guy tie into it? I think every time I'm in the frozen food section, I'm like, ah, he's right there by that fish. Hold on, did you say the Gordman's Fisherman or the Gortman's Fisherman? I don't know, both of them.

Did you say T or D? No. In my head. Mrs. Paul's.

I'm telling you, another fucking Mandela effect. I don't remember it being Gortman's Fisherman. I thought it was Gorton's. Is it not Gorton's? No, it's not Gorton's.

Is it Berenstain? No, it's Gorton's. It's Gortman's. Gorton's Fisherman. Is it Thornton's?

Dude, what the fuck? Is there an N in Thornton's? Yeah, what the fuck? The world is falling apart. Our reality is falling apart.

But I can never remember exactly what it is. I guess because the book is so ingrained in my head. I know exactly who the killer is and I can play it out in my head. But in the movie, I can never remember who the fuck the fisherman was. I mean, it's been a long time, so I probably don't remember either.

So let's not spoil it. I do need to rewatch it again. Or who got killed or why they got killed or what the fuck's. Going on over here. I think I mostly remember.

Is there a drug deal going on over here? Cool. We're also up to shady behavior in the parking lot, so we can't really call them out. We've got shady behavior in the Bye Bye Baby parking lot over here. They're scoring some...

Whatever the fuck it is they're scoring. We see you. Hopefully they don't see me seeing them then come after us. That seems like another horror movie from the 90s. Probably.

I know what you did in the parking lot. Of Golf Galaxy. Not sponsored at all. Thank you very much. Could be.

I do not. Did we watch anything else? No. We did but I can't remember what it was. We watched a movie.

We did? It had Jean-Claude Van Damme in it. What? We did. I like that you've completely blocked us out.

What are you talking about? We watched a movie. Was it Time Cop? No. Which one did we watch where there's a cyborg?

Cyborg's the only. Other one I can think of. We watched Cyborg. I forgot about that. Yeah, I got on this weird kick.

I was like, you know what? I want to watch fucking Cyborg tonight. Yeah, I forgot about that. Directed by a friend of the show, Albert Pughn. I mean, before he probably got kicked off of it.

He got kicked off of most of his movies. But I think he might have finished Cyborg. Oh, I like Cyborg. That was a great movie. And it's weird.

I mean, it was weird when it came out, you know. But, yeah, it was great. That's a great movie. I'd never seen it before, but, you know. You kind of watched it.

I did. I watched it because, you know, again, young Jean-Claude Van Damme. Pretty fucking hot. Before the mullet. Yeah.

Whoever decided the mullet version of Jean-Claude Van Damme was a good idea. Oh, yeah. It's like a Romany mullet, too. It was kind of like curly. It was kind of like.

Once he got to those movies, that was a different mode. I don't even know what was going on. But it seems like we watched something else, too, but I can't remember what it was, either. Did I watch another action movie? Possibly.

You did. I didn't watch that one at all because it was in a different language. Oh. What was it? I don't know.

It was in a different language. It was all reading. Oh, dude. Yeah. I watched.

Oh, fuck. What was it? Um... Kung Fu. Kung Fu Hustle.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, I watched Kung Fu Hustle. That was a great movie. That's a beloved movie. Fucking bananas.

It's fucking crazy, but it's fucking awesome. Because I wanted to watch Kung Pao, but I couldn't find it. My kid was telling me, because my kid's a fucking nerd now. She's like, oh, you just go to this site, and you can like watch it for free and I was like what she's like yeah just go here and I was like I'm not. Gonna do that that sounds shady.

Yeah well my kids like she's tapped into the internet she knows what's going on yeah she's tapped into like games and she's like yeah it's $ 70 but I just pirated it and I was just like what okay. And now the police are going to be knocking on her door. Allegedly. Allegedly. Nah.

We don't know nothing about that. Well, I watched a tie-in to today's activities, and not on purpose. This was actually a week or two ago, which I hadn't even... I don't even know if I remembered that he was coming to the event, let alone knew that I was going to be standing in front of him. But I did watch one that somehow kept missing, or I think even had a copy for a long time, and hadn't watched The Midnight Meat Train.

It's been forever since I've seen that. I don't remember liking it, though. Well, I remember just knowing about it. Was Vinnie Jones in that? Yeah, Vinnie Jones is the creepy dude on the subway.

I don't remember watching it, either. We watched it, though, didn't we? I know we did. I remembered you guys telling me about it, and I was like, well. What was our review?

Did we not like it? I think I know what you would have issue with. What did I have issues with? Well, the same thing I had issue with. Because that's the thing.

As a story, it's awesome. And to me, it's the perfect... Like first feature in a double feature with Cabin in the Woods. Because it's the most like, here's a big thing going on and you're not going to realize that until it's all too late. So that aside, the issue I had was it was 2008.

I just double checked the year on it. And the effects are 2008. Which means they're not practical anymore. They are really bad 2000s CG. There is an eyeball scene that is like, speaking of cringy, oh my God, like it is so hard as a movie geek to watch that.

And like, it is just a cartoon. Like it is, it is so bad. And I'm like, I'm sure at the time they were like, yeah, we're using these newfangled CG graphics. It's great. You remember when Vinnie Jones was the next hot new thing?

I mean, he was for a minute. And then time moved on. You know, what are you going to do? Sometimes we don't catch on. Like we think we're going to.

He got beat up by a guy in the bathroom, and then nobody cared about him being a tough guy anymore. Didn't he start singing or something? Who knows? In my head, I can hear Vinnie Jones singing, and I don't think it's great, but it's a thing that happened, I think. I just thought it was funny he got little Bradley Cooper.

He was like such a kid then. That was right before he started to break. Because he probably wouldn't have bothered to make this low-budget horror movie if he'd already gotten super famous off his babysitting and watching movies. I didn't need to watch it again, though. It's been a long time.

I think everything else. If you take out the cheesy gore that's done with CG, there's a decent amount of actual blood that gets dumped everywhere. But when it's in action, it's usually some bad CG splatter going on. Did Clive Barker have anything to do with the movie? He probably produced it or whatever I mean it's not like he directed it like the early ones so but.

I don't know if he like wrote the screenplay or like produced it or I. Think he is listed as co-writer but again. That could just be from him having written the story I still. Think the story's good like I still think the overall story's really cool and like even the version of it that we get on screen without the cheesy CG like it's still pretty solid as a like it's equally like sort of horror movie of like watching people, watching people get bludgeon butchered on a train as much as like a mystery too. You've got, you know, the, the goofy guy that like catches a different stuff, taking photos.

And then he starts trying to piece together the mystery. So he's got the cork board in the living room and he's got strings going everywhere and he's starting to lose his mind. So I think that version of the story is pretty cool too, that it does tell a good mystery that you're trying to, The more he digs into it, the weirder shit gets. Was that based on one of his short stories, or was it like a full length? I think it's a short story, yeah.

I think it's one of his older Books of Blood kind of things. It's not one that I've read, so I need to go back and read some more of his stuff. I'm sure it's probably relatively different. I mean, I've read a few, but I haven't read the complete Clive Barker collection. Now you have a goal.

I do. But yeah, I was like, there's so many times where I've been like, I want to watch that, and then I either didn't have a copy, or then I had a copy, which is what always happens when I have my physical media. It gets all piled And I don't have room to do anything and I can't find it if I want to anyway. So this finally, this last time as it cycled back through as I'm searching for something else and I found that, I was like, oh. Shit, here it is.

I'm going to keep this out over here so I can find it and I can make use of it. And I actually did this time. Yay. So I watched Midnight Meat Train. I will one of these days again watch it.

It's fun. Again, just turn your brain off when it comes to CG time. Everything else is cool. Maybe it'll be one of those that I'll watch it while I'm cross-stitching or something. Or I can kind of look up, and if I think something stupid's going to happen, I can look down.

I still like watching movies for real. TV is usually how I leave on in the background. That's usually my murder stories. I still listen, and so I still know what's going on in the story. I watch whatever.

I don't seek out murder shows, but usually, like, Friday nights, there's nothing but murder shows on, and I'm doing something else, so I'll just leave it on, and I'm like, damn, are they still talking about this same murder? It's been two hours. Is that person not dead yet? They're more dead than they were earlier. I guess so, because they drug it out for two hours.

But along the TV lines, there is one that's, I mean, again, the rules don't apply anymore. Everything's blurry. Everything's a gray area, so TV isn't TV. But of series, speaking of being behind the times, I also just started in about midway through on Yellow Jackets. I have not yet seen that, but I want to so bad.

Everybody was talking about it when it first came out. So, again, behind the times. But they, once again, put it on a freaking streaming channel that I don't have. That was really frustrating because I wanted to see it then because everybody I knew that was in the cast was like, that sounds awesome. I want to watch that.

And I heard people raving about it. And I was like, okay, but I can't watch it right now. They just dropped the first season on the generic channel that I do have. It's the generic channel, so I can watch it, too. Oh, I don't have Netflix.

I barely still do. Although now it's super cheap with the commercials. So, and they're minimal. I was shocked. Like it's like 15 second run sometimes.

So it's pretty minimal. I'll be damned. But yeah, it's, um, it's awesome. Like I, again, I'm just kind of midway through, but here was the part I was waiting to tell you about the most crazy character is Misty. Yeah.

So if you're going to wear your shirt and your side braided ponytail, definitely wear the shirt, because everybody should know. Who plays the character Misty? It's like Christina Ricci? It's Christina Ricci. Oh, yeah, okay.

Or one, again, it's a time slippage, so it's like we're going back to younger versions, so there's a younger version of Misty, and then the grown-up version of Misty is Christina Ricci, who is badass. By the way. Those Mistys are, by the way. Well, yeah, but I mean, this is such a good role for her. Again, as anybody knows, continues on in their career it's harder to find good roles it's even harder for women to find good roles as like again all of these girls are very much and they constantly kind of reference the fact that like look we're in our mid 40s now like they're referencing stuff from when they were teenagers so they're all like look we're grown ups so why are we still going through all this bullshit and so as you know you've got all these actors that are moving on in their careers and like you don't always get good roles and like this is a fascinating role like she is so complex like she is a lot of things going on so yeah definitely worth watching just for that but you've also got like so many other great cast members so it's really impressive so far and I assumed like my take on it when other people described it and like it's Mean Girls meets Lord of the Flies And then so I got into it, I'm like, yep, that's pretty much exactly what we're dealing with.

And then after a little while, it's like, oh, and there's kind of a little paranormal thing going on here. There's a little bit of loft. Just enough of like, I don't know what's going on, but it's not normal. It's not officially paranormal yet, but it's not normal. Something creepy is going on.

So yeah, it's been a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying it. And again, amazing cast. And just such a weird story that like, this is what, again, you get such, random stuff on streaming now, because stuff that I'm like, I don't think any network would have ever, even a cable, like even Showtime and HBO back in the day, might not have gotten on board with this weird, complex story, but it is really impressive. One of these days, when they put it on a channel that I have, I'll watch it.

Yeah, I'm telling you. Or when they put it out on Blu-ray, but they probably won't, because they want actual media to disappear. Yeah, they kind of do. It's a sad thing. I was just defending it the other day.

And somebody was like, whatever old man, nobody likes Blu-rays. I was like, shut up. I watched my special edition with extra stuff that you don't have. I'm still sticking with it as long as I can for good stuff. I mean, there's plenty of stuff I watch streaming, but like for stuff that I already know I love, like, I'm going to buy it in a physical media so I can watch it again.

Which I didn't realize how much of a difference there actually was between Blu-ray and DVD until we watched the DVD versions of Mallrats. And I was just like, what the fuck is this grainy shit? It looks like they're drawing comic books for you. Dude, seriously, what the fuck? I still watch DVD, though.

I do, just because they're cheap. So if it is something I'm picking up that I don't know much about it or haven't seen for the first time, now you can get a DVD version for a dollar, which is cheaper than buying and streaming. I don't care. Why wouldn't I? I still got, like, hackers on DVD.

Well, again, I was raised on VHS at best. I mean, I was watching network television originally. I was raised on VHS movies. I was raised on scrambled porn. Oh, that too, but I could never get it to come in right.

Exactly. And you fry the box trying to jam a screwdriver in there. It sucks. So, yeah. Again, to me, sometimes the picture not looking that perfect.

Like, I don't know that I want to go down the 4K, 5,000 extra glibbits and globbits. I don't care. I'm like, you're getting too good. Again, the first time I saw the extra super digital stuff when they started running live TV like that, I'm like, it looks too real. It's weird.

It's fucked up. Like, I don't know that I want everything looking like that. So, yeah, I'm fine with, you know, Blu-rays probably as much as I really need. Yeah. It's fine.

Yeah. So anyway, that was awesome. I'm enjoying that. So I'm looking forward to in another year when the second season drops, I can get caught up with people from a year ago. Only now it'll be two years by that time.

So yeah, streaming. It's frustrating. Just give it to me right now. Quit messing around. I'm still watching my murder show.

That's all I got. Those people are long dead. Well, I'm still trying to figure out if Adnan Syed killed him and Lee or not. Because I thought for sure that he was innocent. And then I'll listen to another podcast.

And now I'm for sure that he's guilty. And now I listen to a different podcast. And I have no idea what's going on. You can't believe people on podcasts. They'll say anything.

Yeah, I know. I did chase that guy away today. Because he came up and asked what media outlet we were with. And I specifically was like, ooh, this will get rid of him. Watch this.

Oh, it's a podcast. He's like, oh. Okay. And he walked out. I don't even know if I got it okay.

He just like, we didn't have a card because I've given up on that at this point. And then he just walked off without even saying, oh, well, you guys suck. I still think you should just steal like other cards from other businesses. Like you're stealing my plan. No.

I mean, we were at a table. I couldn't just talk about it. Grab one off of Don Cascaro's table and be like, yep, here I am. I'm a massive film director. Well, no, you were saying to hand them somebody else's card.

I was saying just grab other cards. First I started off, then we segued into just taking a Sharpie and writing your info on that person's card. Well, I mean like scratching their name out and their occupation. Nope, I'll be done. The Sharpie's too thick.

You got to use an ink pen. You could use the fine tip Sharpies. Those do exist. Use a pilot. I know how you like your fancy pins.

I like my fancy pins. Well, they're not even that fancy. The gel pins? The gel pins, yeah. My point is, you can't believe people on podcasts.

They'll say anything. Are you calling me a liar? I'm saying you listen to podcasts. That's a bad idea. I don't listen to this podcast.

Well, obviously not. Why would you listen to this podcast? That having been said, thank you to the people at Scarefest for letting this awesome podcast show up at their event. And hang out and go see a super cool author dude. And he signed some stuff.

A super cool director dude. And he signed your thing. And he fended off a crazy person. And it was an awesome day. Hell yeah, it was.

So, thank you to Scarefest for letting us be part of it. Which is getting bigger and better every year. It really is. It's, again, like I. Just don't go parking in shady ass fucking alleys.

Well, parking is its own issue. Yeah, that was kind of a bait and switch there, you know. Got that nice parking lot, and the guy's like, 20 bucks, park here. Yeah, okay. Oh, go down the, you see that guy at the end of the alley?

Like, way down there, two blocks away. You were like, wait, two alleys down? Yeah, all the way down there? Yeah, two blocks away. Are we parking somebody's yard?

Yeah, parking somebody's yard. Someone's yard. Is this right? I still don't know if they got the okay on that. Yeah, I don't know.

We had to exit by driving through the entire fucking yard, because they blocked us in. Yeah, yeah. Not shady at all. I don't know what you're talking about. So thank you to Scarefest for letting us come and be part of all the fun.

Go to scarefestweekend.com and start planning your trip there next year. Well, there will probably be even more people. Probably. Every year I keep thinking, all right, this is all that can cram in there. That's a lot of people.

And then the next year I'll get there, there's more people. But they even had less room than they did last time because they didn't use the third, the bottom. Yeah, they didn't use the bottom floor where they usually put all the celebrity people. Or do they usually put people there? Or is that just the Lexington Comic Con?

No, they all put them there, I thought. I don't remember. All right. Well, we're rounding out the year. I'm sure we'll be back with some other... weird activities in the near future thank you for going on this journey both of you yay and all you people out there listening all two of you thousands of you otherwise that about does it we will return next time same geek feed thanks for listening bye.

See ya. I got a little girl who's on my mind. No doubt about it, she looks so fine. She's the best girl. That I ever had.

Sometimes it's gonna make me feel so bad. La, la, la, la. Hush, hush, I thought I heard her calling my name now. Hush, hush, she broke my heart but I'll never just say now. Hush, hush, I thought I.

Heard her calling. My name now. Hush, hush, I need your love in a night that's free now. I got early in the morning. I love her like we've seen Only took.
