Attention, shoppers! I trust you've got credit cards to pay for all that stuff. Hi, this is Captain Mary Stewart, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown. It's showtime. The following feature has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.

It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised. Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power. I want my two dollars! What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown.

I'm Brian. I'm Misty. And I'm still Jay. And we're coming to you live via digital recording from Lexington, home of the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. Woo!

We're back. Another round of convention times. My feet hurt. Yeah. I mean, I have that every day, but...

Yeah, I don't know that it's anymore today. I feel like most of the time. Trying to break in. Most things hurt. Breaking in newish chucks at a convention.

It's a challenge. Oh, you wore newish chucks? I wore these, but I've only worn them a handful of times. Oh. And I think I tied them a little bit too tight.

That is a challenge that continues as long as I've been tying shoes. You'd think by now I'd just... I don't want a ratchet system on them. Well, they're like a... so it's a set system and then it can also match on one foot and then the other. And they're like a size too big because I got them at like a peddler's mall because I'm a cheap ass.

Fucking A, $ 10 chucks. I mean, can't beat that. Not even with a stick. I'll take it. And I did.

And now I'm paying for it. Painfully. Just shove some newspaper in there, you'll be fine. Well, my main thing was, oh, it's going to be cold soon. I'll be wearing thicker socks.

I'll be fine. It'll be perfect. And I would have been fine. But then my other pair of regular everyday chucks, the pink and black ones. The default chucks.

They had a bust out. They blew out. The bottom came out of one of them. And I have not yet bought any goo. What's it called?

Goo glue or goo shoe goo? Shoe goo. I had one of those. I was attempting. I was like, I wonder if it'll actually work.

Because I feel like the spot that mine is wearing out, it won't. Mine was like the heel area. So I was kind of like concerned. I don't know. Mine's like a regular shoe.

But it's like right on the side at the point, the only point where it kind of bends if you move your foot. So I'm like, yeah, that's just going to bust right back open. Shoes. They're a lot to deal with. This episode brought to you by...

Shoes. Chucks. Shoes. I bought a pony with a shoe on its butt today. That's true.

And I was like, is that a real thing? What do you mean, is that a real thing? I told you. At the time, I had not seen that one before. So I was just like, I know my original run of pony butts, but I didn't know shoe butt pony.

Yeah, it's like one of the newborn ones. And it's super cute. And I like my little ponies because I'm apparently forever in the 80s and child. I mean, that's the only way I operate at this point. I am just a 12-year-old that continues to continue on and be an old person and yet somehow still 12 years old.

It works for me, whatever. Whatever. So, we went out into the convention world once again. It was so many people. Yeah.

It wasn't bad, though. Everybody seemed like they were in good spirits this time. For the most part. Minimal smells, because there were a few. No fights breaking out.

Everybody was just kind of like, oh, hey, how's it going? Sorry, we're out of the way. Everybody seemed pretty. Cool about it. I was kind of surprised that one girl remembered us from walking by her booth.

She's like, you all walked by earlier. I'm like, there's a lot of people. Why do you remember me walking by? Wait, which one was it? The Lego booth.

Like, when we stopped there, she's like, You all stopped by earlier. I'm like, this is the first booth and we have walked around the entire place up and down. Sat down and ate a snack. And you still remember me walking by? Girl, you have seen a lot of people.

She's got special brain and she just remembers everything. I guess. I'm not complaining. I think it's awesome. But still, I was just like, why do you remember me walking by?

I'm tracking everyone. Keeping track of all these weirdos. There are plenty of weirdos. Dressed up in costumes. Oh, awesome costumes.

They're all pretty impressive. Some of them, not so much. Some of them, not so much, but I kind of appreciate, like I've discussed before, I like ones that are like the, not like half-ass in it, like somewhere in the middle is lame. I think it's the ones that are like, I'm barely even gonna put effort into this. Like that one guy who was wearing like a onesie?

No, the one guy was wearing a shirt that looked like he might have made the words on it himself. And it said Joe Cool, and he was wearing sunglasses. That's it. He wasn't in a beagle suit or anything. Like, he didn't have the full-blown thing.

He was just wearing a t-shirt and sunglasses. And he's like, yep, I'm dressed up. Wow. I was like, that's pretty awesome, actually. I kind of like the half-ass effort.

But not totally, like, kind of trying, but then half-assing it. No. I like that. I'm not going to put much effort at all into this. But I'm going to go with something.

I like to try to play the game of is that person actually in a costume? Which we have played before. Now, I know in the past we were playing the shaggy version of it. Today we had a couple. It was two females.

It could be a couple. Could it be friends? Well, I had one too. So, you can do yours first. I'm pretty sure it was Wayne and Garth.

I was like, or, because we saw them from the back. I was like, or it's just. Girls wearing flannel. I'm not sure. Well, she had like the black baseball hat on and she had like the ripped up jeans.

But they were relatively young, so the fact that they would know who Wayne and Garth is, they must be watching the loop-it-around SNL channel or something. Or they have cool parents. That could be it. Because now you're getting to the age of kids that. Like my dad made me watch these stupid videos of this guy and this other guy, and they're in a basement.

They may think it's an actual thing. They may be like, I think this is a live feed from some dude's basement. But yeah, if they were in fact cosplaying... Wayne's World characters. I was pretty impressed.

Oh, I'm also impressed if that's just a regular day-to-day gear because I am totally okay with people bringing back the 90s. I love a good flannel and ripped jeans. I dig the whole aesthetic. I live in flannels every day of my life. There's one on me right now.

That's just my go-to. Let's be serious. There are few things hotter than a chick with shorts and docs. Yeah. Not gonna argue that.

Sounds like a flannel. And a flannel. Flannel. Flannel. These are all good choices.

Even if the flannel's just wrapped around the waist. That's a good look. That's a good look. Sometimes you gotta see Adelaide. You know, that's how it works.

I mean, that's a good look. That's a timeless. That is fucking timeless. I think that as my plan, because as you know, I'm hot all the damn time. So half the time, like, I can't even wear a hoodie.

That's too much for me. So sometimes I'll bring it with me and I'm not gonna wear it, like today. Look, there's one sitting right there. But then I'll be like, okay, I'll wear the flannel, but if the forest comes to worse, I can see Adelaide. You're just tired around your waist and you look like you're trying a little too hard to be cool.

But you're not hot at least, so you got that going for you. Mine was, the guy walked by and I was like, Jesus, cosplay? I was like, oh, no, wait, I think it's just a dude with long hair and a beard. But for a second, I swear, I was like, oh, look, he's doing, oh, no, wait, it's just a guy. I think I'm pretty sure, because his girlfriend wasn't in an outfit, so I was just like, oh, I think it's just a dude with long hair and a beard.

There were some elaborate costumes. Still partial to Baymax dancing around. That was pretty fun. But that's so impractical. He would take up an entire fucking...

There's the geese. Well, he was out in the middle of the room, though. He was out in the lobby area. You can't tell me that he eventually didn't try to wander through them aisles. Some of those aisles are tighter than others.

People would be ducking into boots to get away from him. It was one of the big inflatable type ones. He had a little tiny window in the front so he could see. I'm not saying that he was a large person, but his costume itself was large. No, it was a giant inflatable costume.

But that's what I'm thinking. I'm like, maybe he just planned to hang out in the lobby tape area so everybody could be like, ooh, cool, look. And then he's like, I'm going to go walk around. He just deflates and walks around in a pair of shorts. He could have been that shirtless guy.

He could be. He could be that one guy. Oh, that guy had wings. Do you want to go into that guy? That guy was majestic.

I kind of wish I had gotten a picture with him just because nobody's going to believe. I mean, I did ask. I was like, do you want a picture with him? If I had any idea what his costume was, I might have. I think you just didn't want to be that close to the banana hammock area.

I was afraid something was going to break loose. I mean, it did kind of seem like it was. And I'm not sure there weren't tube socks involved as well. Something was going to slingshot out of there at me. Yeah.

So how would you describe this dude? Majestic, like I said. But in detail. A muscled version of Borat would be the costume we're going for. But it was red, and I don't know my character.

I'm assuming comic book. I have no idea. There was wings involved. They were ginormous wings. Giant-ass wings.

And he was very fit. Very fit. And there was not a lot of material. Which, again, if I were a guy and I had that figure, I would wear something like that. I don't know.

That's still a lot to concern yourself with as you're walking around in public. But that has put in a lot of trust in spandex. Because, I mean, just the tensile strength of the fabric going from the shoulders to the crotch area. I mean, Jesus Christ. Whether he was there or not.

He might have been there. I thought. Maybe I just had a religious experience at the Comic-Con, but. I don't know. Me too, when I saw the guy with the wings.

I still don't think he was quite as muscly as that other Steve Austin dude you saw. Or the guy with the tattoo, which we're not going to make fun of, because that would be mean. But guy with the tattoo, if you know you're the guy with the tattoo. You should know better by now. And, I mean, really, if I were him, as good as it looked, I'd just be wearing a shirt.

What was his costume? I don't know. I think he was just dude that took his shirt off at a convention. He was just like, I've got man boobs. Look at them.

They were firm. They were like, he worked out or he had implants. I couldn't tell. This is the rule that I've said to you a thousand times. But in case anybody out there has missed the update, if you're thinking of getting yourself a tattoo, it all comes down to two things.

Placement and size. You don't just randomly slap whatever. His was good. I feel like quality goes unsaid. And I know a lot of people still walk into a place they've never heard of before and pick something off the wall, which is two bad ideas, really.

Do your research. Find somebody who's legitimately good. Come in with what you want. You can have flash if you find something cool you want, but still, do your research. Ahead of time.

And I am not mocking the quality of his tattoo. No, it was really good. But it was in the center of his back. I can't even say he was ripped like Jesus because he was like beyond Jesus. He was just beefy.

Yeah, he was. But not in a bad way. But the center of his back and about the size of your palm, maybe? I don't even know if it was that big. It was like less than a saucer.

We're not going to say what it was. We're not going to say what it was. Okay, we'll leave it at that. But yeah, a saucer that you'd sit a coffee cup on. It was smaller than that.

But in the dead center, not even centered in the middle of his shoulders where maybe then like he's in the mid process and you could add on some actual wings or something or whatever the hell he thinks he's doing. But no, it was just dead center of his back. Kind of small. Strange. It's a weird size and placement.

That's all I'm saying. So once again, keep that in mind when making your life decisions. Maybe he's happy with the outcome. Maybe so. I mean, he can't see it.

So what difference does it make? Exactly. He's got to have like a set of ears. Does he even know it's back there? Couple of different mirrors to be like oh look that looks.

Cool what else did we see it's all a pyramid head that was pretty awesome but i'm surprised that's still kind of a thing yeah and. This isn't right that's been around that is weird it's usually. More of the scarefest crowd not so much the comic-con crowd i. Guess once you've got that giant ass pyramid head you gotta work in it as often as you can and then. There was that one kid that i made fun of because his whole costume didn't match like okay are you a power ranger or no was it bumblebee Are you Bumblebee?

Are you Bumblebee? Or are you Iron Man? Because you need to figure it out. Iron Bumble? Because he had like the body suit.

Maybe he just didn't have the mask. Maybe it's like, you know, like when I was a kid and we were poor. Not that I'm saying this kid was poor, but we would like put stuff together on our own. Maybe he just likes both. Maybe he wants to mash up.

I'm telling you. B-Man. Iron Bumble. That's Possibilities are endless. That's what I was going for.

And then there was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I walked around a corner and out of nowhere holy shit it was like the damn near the prop display. This guy made this entire section of what was going on. This was your religious experience. I was just literally holy shit I couldn't even stop it.

It just came out and I was mesmerized and I waited in line not once, but twice. Actually, we didn't wait in line very long the first time. They had, like, an experience, as it was. Different scenes and scenarios. Not really scenes, but first of all, the most dramatic.

Yes. One of the greatest movies of all time that Boyfriend will not watch. The NeverEnding Story. Maybe I'll watch it sometime. We can fast forward through the Bastion parts.

Yeah, yeah. You're bestest friends with the star of it. It just yells too much. But Bastion yells a whole lot. Bastion yells a whole lot.

But holy shit, there before my very eyes was, god damn, the most traumatizing thing. They had like a fucking mock-up of fucking Artax in the Swamp of Sadness. I mean, they know everybody's scarred for life from that. And yet they still built this thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm impressed with it.

And specifically the mechanics of it. Because it's fucking interactive. It is interactive. It's like, after he is set in his position because apparently you have to pull him back to get him like locked in and then when you pull upon his reins which you do because more trauma needs to be inflicted upon us it's like his head moves and he comes and then like he like he comes forward and then sinks further into this fucking oh my god. I said to her as i walked by i was like trauma i was like why would you do this why it's great i impressed with the artistry is amazing but trauma, why would you do this?

You too know that you cannot save him. Although her answer was the best, but she says, well, in our version, he never sinks. He's always at this point. There was a girl who was in front of us who refused to pull it all the way. She kind of pulled it a little bit and she's like, no, no, no.

And she went up and hugged his little head. And I was just like, aww. We all feel that way, ma'am. We all feel that way. She wouldn't pull that final little, like, she wouldn't get that little tug that would pull him a little bit further in.

So, yeah. And then they had Well, obviously, they're going to have Falcor. I was, I mean, I figured, I was surprised with the other versions, because, again, Falcor is the go-to. Like, even the, like, halfway fans of it are like, oh, yeah, like, they all know Falcor. I'm pretty sure that girl who was on Falcor was not a fan, even in the slightest.

Now, that's one I guess we have to stop and go into that for a minute, because this girl, she's dressed as an anime girl. She's got, like, blue eyebrows and stuff, so she's, like, full-on in some version of anime. Absolutely no joy in her face. But, yeah, she's sitting on top of a giant luck dragon. And, like, at that point, you're supposed to throw not one, but both arms up and go, Wahoo!

At least one, because you have to hold on with something. Yeah, I mean, that's how it works when you're riding a luck dragon. And some person, may or may not have been her, but at least one of her parents, paid at least $ 20 for this experience. Zero happiness. She was so unenthused.

I was kind of in shock. I was just like, Even if you don't care about this movie, which I'm guessing, again, she was of the age that probably her parents were the right age. So I'm guessing her parents love Never Ending Story. And they've told her about it a million times. They're like, it's the greatest movie.

You're going to love it. Which, by the way, if you do that with your child, you're guaranteed they're not going to like whatever it is you're trying to tell them about. They're just going to be like, ugh, this dumb thing my parents want me to watch. So she climbed on it and was like, I don't know what this is. Like the Never Stopping Story or something.

It's really stupid. So she kind of had that attitude. And then she sat there with the most morose motherfucking grin on her face. Just like, I don't like any of this. Daria would look more cheerful than her.

Yeah, yeah. It was a sad experience. And the fist didn't even go up. It went kind of out. It was damn near a Hitler salute.

Yeah, she was just kind of half-assing it. It was a fist. It was not like the salute. No joy. There was no joy.

No joy. No joy for the Nazis. I'm not saying the kid was a Nazi. Yeah, I mean. I don't think they would put up with her blue hair and eyebrows.

So they would weed her right out if that was the case. So she's barking up the wrong tree if that's what she's looking for. Okay, so when you first walk in the area, to your immediate left would have been Artax in the Swamp of Sadness. And then to your far right would have been the Electragon of Falkor. And then as you go around, counterclockwise, because I'm doing things fucking backwards, you're going to run into the Rockbiter.

Which, holy shit, the Rockbiter looked amazing. It was possibly to scale. I don't really know the dimensions exactly. I think Rockbiter might have been a little bit bigger. He looked a little...

Yeah, he wasn't maybe not 100%, but he was pretty damn big. And then... The most impressive part. The part that had me the most excited. Because, you know, god damn, the Gmork is the most amazing creature that's ever existed.

That whole character... As a child, I was mesmerized by it, which again says a lot about me. Not the Luck Dragon, Gamork. I love them both. But there's just something so viscerally terrifying about the Gamork.

Primal. There's a primal badassery to the Gamork. But the fact that both the Gamork and Falkor are voiced by the same person just blows my mind. Nah, that guy's a superstar. I get it.

But it's just boggled because they're so vastly different characters. You have the Luck Dragon. pure, like, damn near white and pearly. He is everything good and pure in the world. And then you have the Gmorg. All that is evil incarnate.

The only thing that could be more evil is if there was nothingness there. He is the agent of the nothing. He is there, and he is, oh, he's so fucking terrifying. And that's what my $ 5 towards charity, actually $ 10 because I went back again because I wasn't quite happy with my first round of pictures. Nothing against the photographer.

She did a good job, but I'm fat. And I didn't like the angle. And it looked like I had to pee. So I had to go back and take the selfie angle. Because everybody knows the selfie angle is the better angle.

I mean, I explained to her the deal. She was a little confused. But I was like, it's okay. This is how she likes it. She was very supportive.

She was very supportive. She was like, girl, you look fantastic. You look amazing. But I'm only going to let you do this. If you say, if you look at the pictures afterward and say like, oh, I look hot.

So afterward, I was like, how are they? How did it turn out? I'm like, oh, I'm cute in this one. She was like, yes, girl. I know what I'm doing.

She's amazing. I know how to display my cuteness. But the fact that this guy made all of these things, and I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who made the Battle Cat and Panthor. They usually have this display kind of in that same spot every year. And there's usually giant geeky things for you to climb on and ride.

But this one, it seemed like there were more. Like, normally it's just sort of Battle Cat, Panthor, maybe one, maybe three of them. But this one, like, the fact that it was an installation of, like, five different things, more or less, that you could go right around and play with. Was it four? Oh, they had a giant turtle head painted on the.

Wall, too, so. Morla? I'm pretty sure it was Morla. I'm getting that part wrong. But also on the side I did not notice at first was they had like the bookstore window.

I was like, holy shit, they got the bookstore window. He is this detailed. Then they had the book laying there. I guess I could have taken the book over and read it to Gmork. That would be awesome.

How cute would that have been? Me sitting there reading the Gmork. He's got sleepy eyes. And the eyes of the Gmork. His eyes were amazing.

Holy shit. They were like little screens, I guess, because they were not like They lit up and were glowing electric. And they were. Fucking blinking and like looking around. She was like, oh, I'm waiting for him to look your way.

And I'm like, oh, go Mark's going to look my way. Oh, he's looking. Your way, girl. He's getting ready to eat you. My only, only complaint, and it is the slightest of complaints.

If you're going to have things that you interact, they should stand out more from what the thing was. Because I'm holding the knife and it looks like I'm like, there's nothing there. Yes, I know. In the movie, the knife is just a big piece of the broken rock that he stabs him with, more or less. But it should be a slightly different color than the rock that's behind you.

It should stand out from the background that you're standing there trying to stab him with. Make it a darker colored rock. And if you're handing the rock biter a rock, you should be able to see the rock. Yeah, because he's made of rock, so you can't tell the rock you're feeding him from the rock. How does he know not to eat his own hand while he's taking food up there?

I don't know. It's a lot of thinking. But it was actually the most amazing thing. Actually, I shouldn't complain at all. Because this guy made all of these things.

All of them. And I got to experience. I got a picture with the Gmork. And words cannot express how happy I am. It was amazing.

I was. Because I had to go back. Because his boyfriend was on his way. And I'm like, oh, my God. Because I was like, am I going to regret it if I don't go over and get a selfie with the Gmork?

I think I will. And then boyfriend's like, I'm on my way. And I'm like, holy shit, I'm not going to have time. The Gaborg is only like a once in a lifetime, possibly. I don't know.

He could come back. I don't know. Anyway, so I got over there and the lady was super nice. And she was like, I'll try to work you in because not everybody's getting the full experience, the full movie experience. Because that's what it was.

Because you could pay to get all the scenes. Although I would not, I don't know if I could live with the trauma of me pulling on Artax and having him go into the swamp to stand there and perform. I could not do it. Couldn't do it. Well, and we can't forget the tie-in to other activities that were going on there.

The guy, I believe the guy who made all the things, was also wearing a very special costume. Oh, Bernie! I mean, you have to be a dork to recognize it, because he's wearing a striped shirt and a windbreaker. I don't even think I've ever seen that movie. But you know the outfit.

Oh, yeah. He doesn't bother to change clothes, because guess what? Spoiler, he's dead. Oh, fuck. Bernie's dead.

So I was excited and even considering, I was like, I don't know if I'm fully prepared for the financial investment it would be. But they had not one, but both of the dudes from Weekend at Bernie's. And Bernie! And then I'm scrolling down. I'm like, Bernie?

Wait, isn't Bernie dead? Apparently not. So then I was like, oh, no, wait, that's the Hitman guy. That's also in Return of the Living Dead. He died several years ago.

But Bernie, not dead. He was there. We saw him. He might have been propped up dead. I don't know.

But pretty sure he was sitting at a table. I'm kind of surprised they didn't have him in between the two guys. That would have been so much funner. I should have just been holding him up the whole time. Yeah.

And then he'd fall on his head on stuff every once in a while to make a big clonking noise. And it'd be hilarious. It would have been. Because I give that movie more credit than most people. Like, yes, on surface, it's the dumbest thing ever.

But there's, like, a finesse to the way they handle it. Like, it's the character building of those two dorks. And the just general performances. And not all. Not only that, but it also has like the hottest girl around ever as the cute girl in the movie.

Who's that? Who also showed up. I had no idea Catherine Marie Stewart was supposed to be there. And she was there. She must have snuck in at the last minute.

But yeah, she's the girl of the movie. Oh, I haven't seen it. I don't know. See, you should watch it. If for no other reason, Catherine Marie Stewart is gorgeous as always.

Speaking of gorgeous and adorable, we did see Soleil Moonfry, which I didn't know she was on there until like, I don't know if it was yesterday. Yeah, it was yesterday. So I was like, holy shit, Soleil Moonfry is going to be there. And she was so tiny. Okay.

Although, while she was wearing a NASCAR jacket. I haven't quite figured it out. She was wearing a giant. That's why I'm thinking maybe it wasn't hers. Because it was really big.

Because I was looking around. I was looking at her table. And I saw these girls. I'm like, that's not. I'm pretty sure.

I don't know. You're not punky. You're not punky. I haven't seen her for a while. Maybe that's what she looks like now.

And then I look. She's like standing in front of the table. Like interacting with her people. And she was just like so cute. It's a tiny and cute.

And I was just like, oh my god. It's punky. And then I was like. I never watched Punky Burst again. I told you I want to watch her movie because she also was like early adopter of filming everything.

So I guess as old as that show was, she must have been carrying around a giant ass full VHS camcorder back in the day. But supposedly it was like shooting stuff like on set and like shooting all the other sets that are around her with all these other kids that were making 80s sitcoms. And like she got all this footage of people like back in the day and then continued because she's just a dork. So as she grew up, she bought new cameras, kept filming people. So she put together this entire movie that's just clips of the child stars.

And then as it went along, like originally it was just her filming her friends. And then as she continued to get older, more and more of her friends died. And she was like, oh. So what you're saying is Punky's killing people. That would also be kind of an awesome horror movie.

If we find out at the end, big reveal. She's in it for the long game. It's the punky Brewster murders. But yeah, so it becomes more of a study on what it is to be a child star and why it takes so much out of many a kid. That just sounds fucking depressing.

Probably is, which may be why I haven't gotten to it yet. But I have considered it. It looked pretty cool when I saw the clips from it, so. She's also a director. Crazy dog.

Mm-hmm. Who else did we see as we walked around? We saw Kevin Sorbo. That guy. He still looks pretty good.

I mean, I don't know how old he is, but however old he is, he still looks pretty good. A whole lot of wrestlers. Lex Luger was there, and that was when I'm like... Isn't he dead? No, but I didn't see Sergeant Slaughter.

I thought I saw him on there. Yeah, he's usually... He seems like he's making the rounds these days, so... I'm sure he was there somewhere. He was just doing a photo op or something.

Lex Luger is one of those classic ones. I remember Lex Luger from a long time ago. He's one of those Sergeant Slaughter. That's about the only. Era I know because I'm an old man.

There's a million waves of wrestlers that came out since then that unless they were on a t-shirt that everybody wore, I don't know who they are. Which brings us. Back to Austin 316. That guy in the muscle suit. He had an entire full body costume.

Who was dressed as him and yet he wasn't there. So he was just like, there's a lot of other wrestlers there. People will get it. This is my chance. This is my crowd.

So yeah, he's just showing off his cool muscle suit. It didn't look bad. It was fun. I liked it. And that's also the way.

I don't want to be walking around looking like that in my real world version. But if I could cover it up, it feels like you're just wearing clothes at that point. Yeah. Doesn't look like it. Where you can wear almost nothing and everything at the same time.

Yeah. You're fully covered and yet looks like you're kind of not. I like that. It's got a nice loophole to it. Who else did we see?

There were several Twilight people there. So I'm kind of surprised I didn't see more like... I don't know if we did see anybody in Twilight. How would we know if we saw anybody in Twilight? Unless they were glittering.

Did you see them playing baseball? I mean, that's what vampires do, you know. There's no crying in baseball. They play baseball. We did see a Rockford Peach and her coach.

But, uh. Other than that, I'm surprised we didn't see anybody actually dressed up as Twilight characters. Because there was like at least, what, three or four Twilight characters there? Yeah. They were tapping into that whole little sub-market.

You'd think it would be hitting a whole new wave now. A lot of voice actors were there. Yeah, there was a whole lot of voice actors and a whole lot of wrestlers. Some of which, I'm like, I don't recognize any of these people. Oh wait, they're voice actors.

That's probably why. The only voice actor that I was like, Hey, I know who that guy is. It was Billy West was there. And I was pretty excited about Billy West being there. But then I didn't get his autograph.

It was like 50 bucks or something. I don't know. I'm going to save all my monies to go visit with fucking Val. What the fuck am I even talking about? Fucking Gmork.

Gmork. That's the way to go. He's the coolest. Fucking I do. Which I'm like, not even a tie-in.

There's nobody from Never Ending Story here. I mean, but they couldn't really plan that. I mean, think how long it took him to make that. Like, they're touring around. They don't know who's going to be in any.

Of these shows. But they're like, look, I'm showing up with a Gmork, and everybody's going to be thrilled. Well, maybe those two people over there. But most of the other people will be excited because Falkor's here. Everybody was lined up for Falkor.

I was like, uh, no. I think you're the only one I saw over there by the Gmork. I'm like, that's where I would be. Well, that one person, well, she got the whole package. So I think she got everybody.

Yeah, she just touched all of them. No, I mean, I had to go back for a second round of Gormork. Because he's that good. Fucking A. So cool.

I mean, they had a hell of a lineup this year. I mean, David Boreanaz was there. Shatner was there. Supposedly. I didn't see these people.

Yeah, they were all touring around. Felicia Day. Felicia Day was there. Felicia Day is super cool. She's like queen of the nerds.

Who else was a big person? I mean, aside from Funky Brewster. Alex Winter was there. He's adorable. Look at him.

Who doesn't love Alex Winter? I don't know. Not going to be at Scarefest, though. With, what's that guy's name? Yeah, exactly.

Which I'm still mind-blown. Because apparently we all found this out recently in different ways. That Jason Patrick is the great-grandchild of fucking Jackie Gleason? Yeah, which I. I didn't know up until recently.

I brought it up on the show in the last year, year and a half. Well, you know I don't listen, so I didn't hear it from you. Well, no, I'm not talking about you. I'm just talking about my discovery of it. We were watching the Alice, Sweet Alice.

And the mom, his mom, is in that movie. Yeah. And then they're like, oh, and her dad is Jackie Gleason. I was like, wait. And then later they're like, oh, and by the way, her son's Jason Patrick.

And I'm like, wait. So you're saying, let me do the math here. Hold on. My brain don't work too good. So Jason Patrick is related to Jackie Gleason?

Like directly. Directly. Not even like second cousins or nothing. Not even by like marriage. It's just like directly.

Direct bloodline to Jason Patrick. And that's why he's a vampire. Oh wait, no. Jackie Gleason's a vampire? I think that's what it is.

And you have to take out Jackie Gleason to kill the whole rest of the clan. Oh. I think that's how it works. Okay. Bang zoom.

Biggity bam. I got a free phone holder. I was like the little phone stand. I was pretty excited about that. I don't even know for sure if I have a use for it, but I got one anyway.

You can put your phone on it. I have a dinosaur that holds my phone. I'm that cool. I got a baby Yoda that holds my phone when I'm in the bedroom. That's pretty cool.

Yeah. What else did we do? I ate a snack. I was pretty excited about that. We saw a parade of Boba Fetts.

Walking the wrong fucking way. Walking the wrong direction. On the wrong side of the road. There are fucking arrows there for a reason, people. Yeah, but they can't see them in those giant helmets.

They were going against the traffic. They need a leader of their little club. I'm surprised they were not, like, reprimanded by one of the many volunteers that were there on staff. They need a baby Yoda at the front going, no, no, no, no, guys. Hey, hey, hey, look, this is the direction.

This is the way. I was waiting. Again, my brain don't work that good. It took a minute. I bought stuff.

Bought some earrings that I may or may not be able to wear. I mean. I went shopping for the main thing I do everywhere I go, which is just looking for Legos. Yeah. Creating my bastardized Lego world that I may or may not be able to use some of these pieces for, but I'll find out.

Cool beans. Are we talking about stuff we've watched lately? I mean, I guess if we want to straddle from one to the other, I have a thing, because again, as if anyone pays attention knows, while we do this convention, we also then go shopping for stuff. So I did get a thing while I was in there that has a tie-in to a previous convention. So we can put these two things together.

I bought this Blu-ray right here, entitled Smoke and Mirrors, the story of the man who owes me two dollars. It is the story of Tom Savini, which old-timey listeners might know. He still owes Jay money. I think it's changed two and three dollars over the years. I can't remember.

It's either two or three dollars. The truth has never changed, which is Tom Savini owes him money. Yeah. That was like a long time ago. That was a long time ago.

I was trying to think. I was like, that was a long time ago. But I saw it in there and I'm like, yeah, I know he's kind of a weirdo these days at the old conventions, but I'm going to want to watch this footage of him doing makeup 40 years ago. It's going to be bad ass. So for those reasons, I got this Blu-ray.

But, yeah, I just thought it was funny. I was like, hey, we've got a convention tie-in to that guy. That dude owes me money. So if you weren't listening 100 years ago, he sort of scammed Jay on his change. He didn't really scam me.

What happened was I think he was distracted by a lot of people. And I had bought a couple of his little fridge magnets because he had some little cards there. I mean, you know, it was Tom Savini back then. He wasn't swamped. It was still, like, you could still come up to him and talk to him and stuff like that.

I mean, if you're not a super geek, you don't know what the name Tom Savini means. Like, if you are, like, it's the biggest thing in the world. But, like, if you're a regular-ass person, like, who's that guy? Yeah. Why is he wearing black leather like he thinks he's cool?

So he had some magnets. He had, like, a Rawhead Rex magnet and then a magnet. of him with the penis gun from Dust Till Dawn. And so I think I bought both of those and I got an autographed picture and then he was supposed to give me a $ 5 bill in exchange, but I think he ended up giving me like $ 3 instead of a $ 5. And I was going to say something, but then he got kind of swamped by people at his booth. And or a pretty girl walked by and he's like, hey, baby, how you doing?

Yeah, either one of those. But now you have the story. But yeah, I was like, I'm not going to bug him about it because it's kind of funny. And now every time we see him, he can be like, you owe me $ 2! You owe me $ 2!

Where's my $ 2? Good times. Yep, it's worth that $ 2 for the story, if. Nothing else. I just remember hanging out at one of those shows, and the main thing I remember about him and his table was he was usually not paying attention to what was going on at his table, and he was always messing with the people at the other tables around him.

Yeah. So there was one of those years that they got into a rubber band fight. So the entire weekend long, while people were trying to get him to sign stuff, he was over at the end of the table firing rubber bands at the people across from him. So again, 12-year-olds. Like eternally 12-year-olds.

Which I guess I appreciate to some extent. But yeah, that's what I remember back in those days was he was just busy being distracted and messing with the other tables around him. So, there's a thing I'm gonna watch, but we can discuss things you have watched. We can talk about how we have tried once again to get through the entirety of Twin Peaks. Because I tell you, and I stand by it, the first almost season and a half, best fucking TV in history.

It's awesome. Then once you find out, spoiler alert, who killed Laura Palmer. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of hard to recover from that. Like, the whole show's built around that. At that point, you know, girlfriend's like, we need to finish up watching Twin Peaks.

And I'm like, uh, I gotta load the dishwasher. It's pretty bad when you're choosing dishes over anything, really. Yeah. That says a lot about what it is. I mean, we've got a couple episodes passed.

Yeah, but it just... I just don't care now. I always cite the side adventures of James as the main reason it takes to plummet. Because he's already met the lady. He's already met the lady and is going to work on her car.

Yeah. It's such a... I'm just like, I so don't care about the side adventure. Please go back to Leland. I always want to see Leland.

Please go back. I could fucking listen to Ray Wise singing Mersey Dotes and Dozy Dotes and Little Lamsay Divey. I could listen to that all goddamn day. He's the reason to watch the whole damn season. He also is magnificent.

Well, and there is a way to continue the story after knowing that because Fire Walk With Me is badass. It is harsh. It is a rough movie. That's why I wanted to finish the first season or the first two seasons Because I still haven't watched the third season. That's what I was going to ask.

Where do you stand on the return? I haven't watched it yet. Again, I think it was when they were doing a free trial or something. And I started and got only a couple episodes in. I was like, this is amazing.

It's Lynch. It is all kinds of Lynch. And I kind of appreciate that for anything he does. Even when it's weird stuff. He's so distinctive.

It's amazing. So, yeah, I got a couple episodes in and wanted to continue. And I think then it was gone. And at the time, I couldn't even afford to sign up for the rest of it. So, I'm still working on the return.

I have it. I just have it. I said, I'm like, that's why we have to finish watching the second season. And we're, because I look, I'm like, how many fucking episodes are there? Because, I mean, the first season wasn't that long.

Holy shit. We still got like 11 episodes. Yeah. So, I can't even fully say that it's the first season and a half. It's the first season and like seven or eight episodes.

Yeah. Because there's like 20-something episodes, I think, of season two. I mean, that's a long time ago. Like, back in the day, when they made network series, like, you got a lot of episodes in a season. Because season one wasn't that long.

Season one, fucking phenomenal. Versus now, like, even network shows, you might get 12. Like, it's still nothing compared to what it used to be. Buffy. Buffy.

Exactly. It's like a whole, like, just set aside a good portion of your life like you want to go through the whole series which. Should we mention the sadness it is dawn passing yeah i. Was again i i i don't even know what led me to her but i'd been following her on instagram for years now Her ribs. I don't know.

It probably was. But she was super cute. And I was always down with her. And I just liked her character. Some people at the time were a little weirded out by her showing up.

I liked how much she came out of nowhere. But eventually she was, and pretty quickly, she became part of the crew. And I just kind of, I don't know. I liked her back then. And as annoying as she was, still not the worst character on the show.

Yeah. I think everyone's come to that conclusion as they rewatch now. They're like, I thought I liked this person, but maybe not. Who are you talking about? Who do you not like in the long run?

I thought everybody came around on not liking Xander. Oh, fuck Xander. See, that's exactly why I can no longer. I probably was like, oh, I could go back and rewatch Buffy. And then I'm like, oh, no, Xander's still going to be there.

And I fucking hate him. But I don't remember hating him at the time. That's why I think it's like a weird distance thing. Well, that I think is long. The more.

Like, later in the series, he got worse and worse and worse. Like, unredeemably worse. Yeah. To the point where you're like, well, I can't see him now without knowing how much of an asshole he became. How much of a hypocrite.

You know? So, it's like, oh, it's okay for you to hook up with a former demon, but God forbid Buffy hook up with Spike. So, you know what? Go fuck yourself. Mm-hmm.

Yeah. He was so fucking self-righteous about everything. And he was just whiny because he didn't have powers. Where every one of his friends had powers. Yeah.

Which did lead to a nice little speech at the end of the run. But I'm like, hmm. He didn't have power and he didn't have Buffy. Sucks for you. So you know what?

He was such a bitch. Yeah. And that was okay with him getting his eye gouged out. I mean, anybody. That was right, right?

Yes, sir. Yes, sir. By the end of that last season. What's his name? Gouge his eye out?

Was it Caleb? The rookie? Nathan Fillion? Yeah. Yeah, it's the rookie.

But his name in the thing was Caleb, wasn't it? Yeah, he's a priest or something. Yeah, it's been fucking forever since I've seen him. Some sort of religious dude. Yeah, he was a priest.

Yeah. Well, he was dressed as a priest. I don't think he was a priest. Anyways, yeah, fuck Xander. Yeah.

He's the worst. And he is the reason I can't enjoy Buffy any longer. like i can't say and then i never even finished watching angels i have no idea how that ended. I i do and it's well again it used to be something we gave credit to joss for was writing some hardcore stuff now we're like oh it's just because that guy's a bastard like once again that's would be make things weird going back to try to re-watch either of those series now because at the time he was a beloved oh look the king of the geeks he makes these things and he writes these great things and As time's gone on, now we're like, oh no, everybody hated working with him. That guy's an asshole. I will try to appreciate the shows for the sake of the shows and the performances.

But yeah, now knowing what I know about him, I'm just like, that's a weird issue too. Don't be an asshole to people. Too late. What else did we watch? I forgot, but as we're... while we're still kind of coming off of the twin peaks thing I did right after it happened, I ran across a copy of the lost highway.

I haven't seen that before. I haven't seen. And that's the thing. It's like, I saw it in the theater. I saw it.

I feel like once at least after that, but I have not seen it since. And I remember thinking it was awesome, but like I went back and rewatched it and it is a lot like it's so linchy as we know. But the thing that I was so impressed with that first, like 20 minutes or so, Is just kind of them in their house. And the visuals are so amazing. Like it's just that.

Like the color scheme in their home. It's like this. Weird color scheme. And like the shots just sort of hang. And I'm like it's all Lynch.

It's like such a weird Lynch thing. That I'm like nobody. Nothing's going on now. It's two people standing in a living room. Talking to some cops.

And yet it looks so overwhelmingly weird. And Lynch like. And I'm just like. Yeah, I watched that and was like, he was a hell of a director. Like, you can not like his stuff, which a lot of people were weirded out by his stuff, but I'm like, you can't question his.

Visuals, man. He can make some weird shit. He can make some weird shit. I appreciate it more than most people, but I'm like, you can't argue with his visuals. Like, you can bring up scenes from everything he did and just be floored.

Like, it is just so impressively put together. So, yeah, regardless of whether you like him, like him, like, he was talented. He was so talented. And I also forgot, it's just the Patricia Arquette show. Like, if you even kind of thought you liked Patricia Arquette, this is your movie.

Because, like, I forgot how much of it is like, whoa, okay, he's just showcasing how hot Patricia is. Oh, and now she's wearing a different look. So you get her in two modes, too. She's got different colored hair. She's got different outfits.

It's the Patricia Arquette show. And she's freaking good. Like, again, she nails it. Like, And it led me to my other question. What happened about Lazar Getty?

His family's fucking weird. He was a cute kid and he was poised to be the next big thing. I mean, he's a young gun, much like Lou Diamond Phillips we didn't see today. But he was there. I didn't even see his table.

Doing a photo op or something. I don't know. I didn't even see where he was supposed to be. But yeah, he got brought into the young guns and then he got to be in a Lynch movie. And I'm like, he's just ready to take over.

And then what the hell happened? I really don't know. I don't know. I was surprised. I found out something about Twin Peaks that I had not known before, which is just, it's new to me, but I'm sure it's old to everybody else.

The Log Lady was married to Jack Nance. Yeah. I knew that at one point. Yeah. That's how she met David Lynch, I think.

She was working on something because she was married to Jack and he brought her in and she was helping to do like setting or something. Yeah. I think she was working like behind the scenes on Razorhead. Yeah. Like that far back.

She was part of his life like because she was with Jack. So, yeah. It was quite a little. Because he had such a sad fucking life, fucking Jack Nance did. Which he's the most lovable dude in the world.

He had a weird death. It all sucks. Was it his wife that killed herself while he was talking to her on the phone or something? Plus there was a fish on the percolator. I know.

He had a rough run, man. I know, man. I like Jack. I miss that dude. Yeah.

But yeah, now we just... I mean, we literally started watching... Twin Peaks, like right after David Lynch died. Yeah. And we watched a good, like, you know, we were watching it usually on Fridays once we got past the good, you know, How long has it been?

We haven't picked it up in, like, a month now. Because, like I said, once you hit that bump, it's so fucking. Hard to get a shit. Well, I mean, that's also the jump the shark. Like, that scene, where we find out, is so amazing.

Like, to this day, I can think about it and get goosebumps. Like, it is so... Like, the way that it's put together is amazing. And just. Well, the scene with Maddie.

You're just like... fuck did I just... It is so good. This was on fucking television. I know. Like the fact that they let Lynch make crazy shit and then put it on network television.

Not even cable. Not pay television. Network television. Because I watched it that way. The original run.

Any of the scenes in the fucking train. Oh my god. The train is disturbing. The scenes of Laura in the train. I'm like, this was on fucking television.

Regular people could watch this. You know what I'm saying? And they did. That's the weird thing. Like, it took off.

Like, even regular boring-ass people were so taken with Twin Peaks. I mean, can you imagine? In that first season. Can you imagine just flipping through the channels, and that's what you fucking see? You're like, huh?

Fucking Laura in the train. No! You're watching, uh, what's MacGyver's on this channel? It's flipping through. Look, here's some Mott Scott reruns.

Holy shit! Oh, look, what's going on? Oh, look, oh! Like, the scene with fucking Maddie is, like, fucking heartbreaking. It's just so terrifying.

But then, again, the Leland scene, like, that performance, like, if you ever, like, he's phenomenal from frame one on that show, but if you doubt anything, you watch that scene, you're like, oh my god, like, he is so good. I just, I still have the question of when exactly did he realize, when exactly did Lynch decide? Decide, yeah. How much did he have mapped out beforehand? I mean, you never really know with any Lynch movie.

Because I know we heard Ray Wise talking about when he found out. Yeah, because he's doing the performance and doesn't know, which is weird. Well, that and because Bob wasn't originally in the whole fucking thing. How, when exactly? Because, I mean, because fucking Frank Zilva was accidentally in a shot.

He's like, oh, you know what? Let's just work this in. Yeah, that's what's weird. That guy's not even an actor. He worked on the crew.

He was an actor, sort of. Kind of, but that's not what he was there to do. But the fact that he became Bob, and Bob's still one of the most, to me, one of the most terrifying villains. Bob coming over the couch is disturbing. That it will haunt your nightmares for the rest of your life.

Dude, seriously. Yeah, no joke, man. It's crazy. Fucking terrifying. Crazy.

Talking about the Gmork and... Fucking Bob. You won't survive an outing on one of these. You run into either of those, too. That's the end of days for you.

Legit. But, yeah, I was just... But it's like, when exactly did David Lynch decide, you know what? Bob is Leland. Spoilers.

It's been a while. I hope by now you know. Oh, by the way, and spoilers, someone kills Laura Palmer. Dude, that girl's probably still pissed at me. Yeah.

When I was in high school, I saw a girl and she was reading the diary of Laura Palmore. I'm like, oh, does it talk about who killed her? And she's like, what? And she was legitimately mad at me. So she just picked up a book that she found and had no idea?

I guess. Literally, that's the first fucking ten minutes. Yeah, it's the opening of the first episode. That is how the show is a show. I mean, you got him getting his shit together before he goes down to there.

So you have a few minutes of build up. But that's the entire fucking premise. That was their fucking tagline is, who killed Laura Palmer? And the fact that you don't know that going into it. Now I'm shaking the car like Brian does because I'm.

Getting so worked up about it. That's what I'm saying. Sometimes you got to get worked up about these things. You're worked up all the time. Calm down.

I need to calm down. Take a deep breath. Getting the windows all fogged up in the car. But the fact that she didn't know and she legitimately got mad, she's like, well, thanks for ruining it for me. I'm like, are you fucking serious?

You're like, oh, guess who killed her? You should have just nailed in that coffin. And I can name this. And then guess what else they do? I mean, this would have been in probably 97.

So you know what? The show had been out several years already. But still, that was the, I didn't ask her if it said, oh, her dad killed her. I didn't tell her. I just asked, does it talk about, does it give hints as to who killed her?

You didn't go, oh, she was in the barn. Well, that's the thing. That was hilarious. Well, they took like a little while to get that stuff out too. So like, it wasn't like a, they put the merchandise out first.

So she was right on the, on the cusp of it. Like this was, even if you were watching it the first run, it took them a while to put out that diary and the official guide to Twin Peaks. Well, what year did Twin Peaks start? Like, what did we say? Um, 89, 90?

Something like that. Something like that. Yeah. This was like at least 96. I remember I was in high school when, when it was on because I remember everybody in high school was watching it except for me.

And, uh, Everybody was like, they were telling me about it. They were like, oh, it's so awesome. But I was just like, you know what? I don't care. Because the show that I watched was like Tour of Duty.

So that was. You were too. Busy watching Airwolf. I was too busy watching Airwolf and Tour of Duty and stuff like that. So I didn't care because I was like.

Blue Thunder. This doesn't have like robots or, you know, like commandos blowing shit up. Or ninjas. I don't give a shit. I mean, some of those might have been ninjas.

Yeah. I don't know. You know, I really wasn't into horror or even stuff like this back in the day. I was mainly action movies. You have found your way.

Well, I didn't get into that stuff until maybe my second or third job. I had a friend. Well, we weren't friends at the time, but I met a guy that I worked with, and we both had an interest in martial arts. And, uh, we went to train together and then cause we worked third shift and we were out in the middle of nowhere. There wasn't really much to do.

You know, when you got off work, you just went home, went to sleep. So what we started doing was he was really into like, uh, horror movies. And, uh, I wasn't, you know, I just, you know, he was like, you watch horror movies. I was like, no, not really. I mean, I've seen a few, but it's not really anything big that I, really care about.

And then he was like, Oh, have you seen Hellraiser? And I was like, no, I've never seen Hellraiser. So we watched Hellraiser. And then, then he introduced me to phantasm and stuff like that. So it just became this thing where like, uh, it was almost like every day.

It seemed like when I got off work or when we got off work, we would go down to the corner, uh, market, which where we live, there were no video stores, like absolutely no blockbusters, no, nothing. So it's come full circle. Now it's like that anyway. Yeah. But at the time, if you lived in like a regular city, there were blockbusters and mom and pop shops everywhere.

But if you lived in the rural areas, you had to rely on your little gas station food marts. Yeah, your quickie marts were all you had. And they usually had like one wall in the corner or the back of the store. And there was like maybe... Maybe 40 VHS tapes.

Maybe 20 betas. Mm-hmm. You know? And you had to hope, like, on a Friday, that somebody didn't rent out the movie you wanted to see. Man, I hope American Ninja's there.

Yeah, yeah. Otherwise, you're stuck watching The Heavenly Kid again. Oh, Heavenly Kid. For the, damn it, I want to watch something, but, you know. Dad, I'm watching Flamingo Kid.

All I get are these kids. Yeah, yeah, you know. You're renting Mac and Me again for the fifth time. Mac and Me was a fucking classic. When you can't afford E.T., you get Mac and Me.

He's the Teemu E.T., but I still love him. Teemu E.T. He definitely is. Let's be real. Oh, man.

But yeah, that's just kind of how... That was my introduction to. And then you got me. Main introduction to horror movies. Now it's beating you over the head every chance it gets.

Well, you know, I mean... I watched a little bit and never got really super into it. And still to this day, I'm not a huge horror fan. I do like horror movies, but.... There is nothing quite as awesome as late night watching a cheesy 80s slasher movie.

Yeah, now cheesy 80s slasher I love. Like, I can get into that shit. Yeah. I don't know what it is, but I love cheesy 80s slasher movies. They are their own vibe.

They have their own vibe, and those things are okay. But some of the real serious horror movies, I'm just kind of like, you know. But I think you know more than most people by proxy. You're surrounded by it between being around her all day, and then you do nothing but hang out and go to conventions with us for years and years. Yeah.

You've been immersed in it so much, I think you know way more about horror than most people that, like, have probably seen every stupid horror movie. But now I'm curious as to what serious horror movies. Like, what are you talking about? Like, what are you. Give an example.

Serious horror movies? I don't know. You know, like... I don't know. I just can't think of anything off the top of my head.

I mean, like, supernatural stuff's fine, but if it's got, like, a person that's a killer... Then I'm just like, I just don't give a shit. You know, I really don't. Unless it's a guy with like a guitar that he kills people with or a giant drill. Again, that's cheesy 80s.

I'm talking about anything that's like serious, like, you know, like serious horror where they're like, oh, but this is the guy. He's a guy. You know, I'm just like. So like the most mainstream for most people is like Silence of the Lambs. Yeah.

That's still like crossing over. I mean, it's fun. Yeah. It's very fun, but it also, it takes itself serious enough. That I never understand how they get.

Yeah. Cause I don't understand how that's horror. It's again, it's more thriller to me. I mean, he's a serial killer. So that usually ropes it in for most people.

I agree. It plays more like a thriller, but it's about two serial killers. So it definitely has enough gore in it that like, It, for most people, is way more horror than they're prepared for if they're not a horror person. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know.

But, I mean, still, I mean, my... I guess I always default back to just cheesy action movies. I mean, the other night... Oh, my God. The other night, Misty didn't get to the remote fast enough.

I was doing crafts. Yeah, you were doing crafts. You should race for it. I was making Barbie dresses. She's making Barbie dresses, so I subjected her to.

Which, actually, you don't know, because I had the biggest crush on him at the time. That's fine. No, that's okay. I didn't care. At the time, not longer.

Not now. Beverly Hills Ninja. No, no, no. That guy is a genius. You don't even know the name of the movie.

Pitch Black. Back when Vin Diesel was. Still gonna, yeah. And then Chronicles of Riddick. I never, I never got the Vin Diesel thing.

Back to back. Back to back, yeah. I never got the Vin Diesel thing. But at least in, Pitch Black. I liked because the, because it's a rip off of Alien and I love Alien.

But there was so ridiculous lines in that. Oh yeah. That's why I don't think I've revisited it in so long. I watched it once since the first time I watched it. And even then I was kind of like, maybe I should just leave it at that.

Cause I watched Chronicles of Riddick and, Carl Urban. I can't take it. Carl Urban. That's all I got to say. Vin Diesel is so grossly Vin Diesel.

I can't handle him. At least in Pitch Black. It gets worse. In Pitch Black, he didn't know who Vin Diesel was yet. So he wasn't overdoing the Vin Diesel bullshit.

He didn't look like a drunk baby. But yeah, by the time you get to Chronicles of Riddick, this is my Vin Diesel movie. That's why I was wanting to go to Riddick. Because it gets even worse. I can't handle him.

Oh, I love it. It's so bad. He's so creepy. It's so bad. But, like, before that, we watched, like, The Mummy.

Wait, which Mummy? Brendan Fraser? Yeah, but not that night. That's not The Mummy to me, really, but. Not that same night, but.

Before. Before, it was, like, maybe, who knows, a few weeks, whatever. It was one of those things where, again. I was probably crafting. She was crafting.

And I was like, I'm going to watch a movie. And you were like, I don't care. As long as it's not the money. I don't mind Brendan Fraser. See, that's another one I didn't get at the time.

Like, now I guess I more feel bad for him. Because I've heard the stories. So, it's like, as a person, he seems cool. But, like, back in the day, I'm like, girls used to go all out for that dude. And I was just like, really?

Yeah he was cute I mean I guess. But I was more and especially the mummy I was more annoyed at the time because it felt so wanna be Indiana Jones And it's not Indiana Jones. No, but that's the thing. You've got to look at it as not being a wannabe Indiana Jones. But at the time, that's all I saw.

That's what you see. If I can distance myself and watch it now, I might be able to appreciate it for the cheesy action movie that it is. Yeah, that's all it is. The CG fest that it is. Cheesy action movie.

And I'm like, he's not Indiana Jones. He's definitely not. He's just fucking Brutus Frasier. But it's fun. Again, I have not even attempted to watch it in so long, so I would be willing to give it a shot again.

Yeah, you just got to go back and watch it for this. You know, it's one of those things that's like, I look at it this way, Friday night, I'm fucking tired. I might fall asleep. Who knows? So he's going to pick the worst movies that he can.

He knows that I'm going to be awake through it. I do that because if I'm not feeling up to investing myself in something new that I have to focus on, I will re-watch something I've seen a million times because it's just comfortable watching. And then if I fall asleep, who cares? Because I've seen this a million times. Exactly.

I'm like, I don't want anything that I have to become really invested in or pay attention to. I just want to watch some. It's like that night. I was like, I just want to watch Brendan Fraser shoot mummies. Which doesn't work very well, by the way.

And then the other night, it was like, I just want to watch Vin Diesel drop really shitty one-liners and run around and punch shit. That's funny. That's hilarious. I'll do that. But then it got really late because I was like, I'm going to watch Riddick.

And you're like, no, you're not. It's too late. Go to sleep. It was like 3 in the morning. And how'd that work out?

Oh, I didn't watch it. I actually went to sleep. That's a good choice, by the way. Yeah, I actually listened to you because you were like, you need to get sleep. You need to sleep.

Riddick is not worth it. No, it is really not. But I'm trying to think. There might have been another movie that I had. I had worked in before that, but I'm not even sure if I can.

What was that one movie you tried to make me watch and then even you got too bored about that you changed the channel? What was it? It was another Indiana Jones knockoff. Oh, the Alan Quartermain? Oh, he's the most Indiana Jones knockoff.

Yeah, that was back during the day. That was right after. It was the year after Temple of Doom, I think, Quartermain, the first Quartermain came out. And I was just like, oh. And now I can look back and go, okay, Richard Chamberlain, I can see people being into him at the time, but I'm like, All I saw as a kid was like, dude, you are no Harrison Ford.

Yeah. What are you doing? This wasn't even Richard Chamberlain, was it? Was it? I don't fucking remember who it was.

I don't think the one we watched was. I mean, that character's been around in other stuff. Yeah, he's been around in other stuff. I thought those two movies they put out were him and Sharon Stone. Yeah.

Wait, this one didn't have Sharon, this one didn't have Sharon Stone? Maybe you watched a different movie. One of them had Sharon Stone, yeah. She's definitely in the first one. I thought she came back for the second one, too.

Because she wasn't really Sharon Stone yet. Like, that was right before she broke. Yeah, I'm trying to remember if she was in both of them. Yeah, that was. Yeah, I think she is both of them.

Because in the second one, he marries her. I think so. Again, I haven't watched. She picks a suit out for him, and he didn't like the suit. I have not watched either of them, maybe since that era.

I think that's the one that I. Because I didn't really like them then. Yeah, I kind of stopped watching them. They're cheesy. They're just such knockoffs.

Well, I mean, that whole Adventure Time 2. What was the guy's name again? I thought it was Richard Chamberlain. No, I mean like the name of the character. Oh, Alan Quartermain.

Alan Quartermain. All it's bringing up is the guy from General Hospital. No. King Solomon's Mines. Look that up.

Yeah. But yeah, it's that whole time, you know, like you said, there was all these The big movie would come out, and then all these knockoff movies would come out. And then you'd get Firewalker. Dude, I love Firewalker. I had the one sheet for Firewalker hanging up at my house.

I fucking love Firewalker. And I barely remember anything about it. Because it was kind of knockoff Indiana Jones, but I also liked the cast. Yeah, it was Richard Chamberlain. It's like Lou Asit Jr.

And Chuck Norris. And Chuck Norris. I was like, you can't go wrong with these two. And they just kept giving dumb one-liners. So I, once again, have not seen it since then.

But at the time, I kind of liked Firewalker. My only complaint was like Chuck Norris didn't do a whole lot of like kicking people's asses in that movie. Because again, you know, that's not what you get in Indiana Jones. You punch people, you shoot people, you might machete them every once in a while. But yeah, it's not really a kung fu kind of.

Well, that's like his one movie, Hero and the Terror. Yeah. I rented that thinking it was going to be like Code of Silence or something like that, you know. And rented it, got it home, watched it. I think he kicked the guy one time in the entire fucking movie.

That was a later one because I think at that point he was trying to be like a serious actor. He was trying to be a serious actor. He really wanted to like graduate up from just being that dude that kicks people in the head. Yeah. Which, by the way, while we were in there looking at movies, I saw The Octagon.

Oh, dude, The Octagon is fucking cool. I think I made Misty watch that. before we went and met up with Chuck Norris, like, several years ago. The Octagon. Octagon, and then we watched Code of Silence. Which one was Code of Silence?

Or, no, we watched Good Guys Were Black. Did we? Yeah. Which one was that one? That was the one where he whispers a lot to himself.

Those early movies, he had that silly haircut. Yeah, he had the haircut. He had the mustache. He had the bowl and mustache and combo, and it was like, at least later, he got some mousse or something. He worked out a regular hairstyle, like, Yeah.

But yeah, it's, it's that, that breed of movie. I don't know that you can make those anymore. No, no, probably not. Invasion USA. Fucking love that movie.

That's one of my favorite movies. You know? Well, speaking of old timey things that you've returned to doing lately. Oh yeah. I thought you wanted to tell people about your activities.

I don't know if anybody really cares. Well, but, I mean, I'm assuming if you're listening to us talk about old movies, you're also an old person and you'll appreciate the level of commitment that you're giving people because. Okay, yeah. So, if you know me, or maybe you don't, I don't know, whatever. I used to skate a lot.

Back in the day. Back in the day. And I quit skateboarding in, I think, 96 when I picked up into Muay Thai and I decided that I wasn't going to be a pro skateboarder, I decided I was going to be a professional fighter. And so I, I went, you know, all in on that. Nice, safe activities you've chosen.

Well, yeah, I've always got to do something that, that involves me getting hurt. Uh, so I kinda, I kinda left off on skateboarding and, um, I still watch skate videos. I still kind of dress in a lot of same stuff. So you never, you never not a skateboarder, you know, and I had skated since like the mid to late 80s all the way up until the mid to late 90s pretty seriously and pretty heavily and uh but i just quit you know. As opposed to my in my inspiration to become a skateboarder was marty mcfly so i came from a different different different direction.

Well no i got into it in high school because my friend was like dude if you get into skateboarding you can get girls girls will like you and i was like all right cool that sounds good chicks dig it's yeah no no the girls like yeah they didn't they didn't like me. Which now i think it's a different story because now there are girls skateboarding so like it could be a whole different market because that's again of the few people that i've randomly ended up with on my instagram feed there is a girl i don't even know what country she's in i don't think it's america but like she is a skateboarder and like she is badass and like they pop up all the time on my feed i'm like holy shit did you see what she just landed like Yeah.

So yeah, there's girls doing it now. It's a whole different market. So anyways, um, you know, I get, I get the same thing. I get these old skate videos that pop up in my feed on Facebook when I'm on Facebook, which isn't very often, but, uh, one of them popped up for eight streets, hocus pocus. And, uh, one of my friends and I used to watch it every day.

And this is a extremely long story with a bunch of different routes, but yeah, avenues. So I, you know, um, So I posted it on there and I tagged him in it. And I'm still friends with this guy. I've been friends with him, but I haven't seen him in like 25 years. But we've just kind of kept in touch.

Like a mile and a half down the street. See, I'm still friends with the guy who owned the local skate shop. And so there's another little skate shop that opened a mile and a half down the road from our house. And I'm friends with that guy. I've been friends with him for a long time.

And I stop in every once in a while and buy stuff just to keep the skate shop, you know. To keep it going. To keep it going, to help. Yep. Just because local businesses and stuff, you know.

So we were starting talking. He built a skate park in the back. He used to run a bigger skate park called Riot in Louisville. And then that closed down a bunch of stuff because the, I guess the person who owned the building decided they were going to sell the building and they kicked him out. That was a huge thing at the time, because I actually just, of old timey things for our town, I just bought a CD from a band that was playing Shows at Riot.

Yeah. Like, I flipped open theirs, like, there was a shot of them playing next to the, like, there's a dude skateboarding, and then, like, a cage area back in the back, and they're, like, playing back there, I think. So, yeah. Yeah. It was a thing back in the day.

So, he, uh, the guy who owns it is named Floyd, and he knows a lot of people. He's pretty, pretty I think well known in the skateboarding scene, well, either the older skateboarding scene, but he's got ramps, little mini ramps. And I was never a ramp skater. I was always a street skater. I was like, I'm not a vert dude.

I'm a street guy. Because you're hardcore like that. Well, no, because I was afraid to drop in on ramps. But I didn't tell anybody that. I just told them that.

I was like, no, I don't do that, you know. No showboats. I don't need that. I don't do that vert stuff for old guys. I don't need that.

But anyways, he's got this pipe in there, and then you go buy stuff, and you can skate all day. And he was like, you know, you spend $ 10 at the store, you get to skate all day. Skate the park. And I was like, dude, I don't skate anymore. And he goes, you should.

You should get back on a board. And I was like, yeah, I don't know. That way you can get more of your money. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So there was another guy that I met. that I became friends with locally.

And he gave me a zero team board. That's probably late nineties, early two thousands. He goes, I'll give this to you on one condition. I was like, yeah, what is it? And he goes, you got to skate again.

I was like, all right, cool. You know? And so I grabbed it thinking, you know, eventually I'm going to skate again. And so a year went by and just completely forgot about it. Um, Posted the video, tagged my friend in it.

And I said, you know what? I was like, for my 52nd birthday, I want to drop in on a ramp. Because I've never done that. I've never dropped in on a ramp. Well, I did one time, and I fell.

And then I was like, fuck this. I'm not a ramp skater. And then all of a sudden, I didn't want to do ramp. But I was like, no, I want to do it. I want to actually skate ramp.

And he was like, why wait? He's like, let's go do it. I was like, okay, when? He goes, this Friday. I was like, all right, cool.

So this Friday, yesterday, I stepped back on a board, a skateboard for the first time in 25 years and got on a ramp. It's been 30 years since I got up on a ramp and actually dropped in. Straight to the ground. I dropped in. Yeah, I dropped in.

But, you know, that's skateboarding, though. That's the thing is like, you know, I'm just joking, boyfriend. I'm very proud of you. Yeah, you're going to slam. I'm more impressed that you were okay to do it.

Yeah, you're going to slam. Knowing what you're dealing with. Oh, yeah. I have a different take on it as the old man that I am because it was very slick and icy these last several months in the wintertime. Yeah.

And I'm usually pretty good at handling on the ice and just not falling. I had one time out of the entire weeks and weeks, it was fucking icy that I started to slip and the place I went to stop myself was also icy. And then it's the only time I went down the whole run of that. I hit my wrist and I just, just recently does it start? Not like I, every time I went to move, I was like, Oh, that doesn't feel right.

You put your hand back to catch it. Well, I was just like, yeah, I just, I caught myself out of instinct and like I did catch myself. But then later I was like, fuck what is up with my wrist that's i'm an old man that's the problem when you're an 18 year old you can do that not even think about it yeah when you're an old man you're like holy shit i'm never gonna be able to use my hand again yeah so yeah as an old man i am equally if not more so impressed that you decided to even attempt this because i went the other way and like well i'm never allowed to do anything again because i'm. Old well you know i mean uh i still i still do muay thai So I still work out. Which even that seems like, ow.

Yeah, I still do that. I still do combatives training. This past week, I've kind of like been really harsh. You beat yourself to death. I've kind of beat myself to death this past week.

And like I was telling Misty, I was like, if me and my body were friends, we would not be on speaking terms right now. My body would be like, dude, fuck you. we would probably be throwing hands, like hurt. Not very well. Not very well. One of you might be, but the other one.

I got hurt. Well, I was out of Muay Thai for about two months and then went back, started jumping rope, went right back into it and was like, you know what? You can't do a 15-minute round of rope and not hurt your feet because we don't wear shoes. We're just like barefoot. And so years and years of jumping barefoot on concrete, Has taken its toll on my ankles.

Yeah, I guess so. And then going back into it, I kind of have to ease into it. But I didn't. I just went full blast at it. And so my plantar fasciitis started acting up.

You are an old man. Yeah, I was like, damn it. You know, that started acting up. So it was hard for me to walk. And then one of my buddies got me into mace bells.

So I've been doing kettlebell training. But then he got me into mace bells. So I started mace bell training. this week, so my upper body's all sore. And then I got into skateboarding and then slammed a bunch yesterday. But I did manage to drop in several times.

I only fell one time. And that was painful, by the way, because I saw the video. Well, no, that wasn't the time I dropped in. The first time I dropped in, I know what I'm supposed to do, but I leaned back, and I'm supposed to lean forward. I didn't lean forward far enough.

Um, and the board shot out from underneath me and I fell backwards, but then I was like, oh, fuck you, dummy. You know what you got to do. So then I dropped in every time I dropped in after that, I was fine. But, uh, I, I was working on just pumping back and forth on the flat bottom, getting up to the edge of the lip. And like the first thing I did was a tail stall, which is like, this is the first ramp trick I've ever done.

Tail stall. And, uh, everybody's like, yeah, yeah. And, and Floyd's like, now you got to do rock to fakie. And so I did rock the fakie, which I fell several times. But then I finally, or not fall, but I like bailed out of it a couple times.

Finally landed rock the fakie. And then he had to do something with, the customers came in. And then he had to. Yeah, I've heard so many things these past couple days that I have no idea what they mean. Yeah, whatever.

You need like a glossary. So anyways, everybody left the room. I was like, I'm going to drop in. So my buddy Greg was there. So I dropped in, dropped in, rocked the fakie, came back, tail stall, and then bailed on it on the board.

After that, came back down. I couldn't think of anything else. So I was just stoked that I did that. So I was like, oh, you didn't get it on film. I was like, no.

So I looked and I was like, fuck, I got to leave in like 10 minutes. So we're going to film it real quick. And I couldn't land it. But so... The only video that I had was the video of me dropping in, rock the fakie, and then falling backwards on my ass.

And so I was like, that's good enough. We'll just put that online because it's funny. Which, again, I saw that and went, see, that's when I would have caught myself and broken my wrist. And then I'd never be able to do anything. That's what I did.

I landed on my wrist. Because you were saying that earlier that you really still are. I was like, that was. Me for, like, weeks on end. Jacked up.

Because nothing heals now because you're old. Yeah. Now, he told me, like, there's two different ramps. So there's an indoor. There's in the skate shop, there's a mini with a spine.

And then outside in the garage, there's a larger, I guess it's a four foot. It's either a four or five foot mini ramp. And then a three foot quarter that goes all the way across to the other side. And there's a wall ride. And he was like, drop in on that.

And I was like, no, I don't want to drop in on that. That's high. That's high to me. And the ramp inside. You're still just getting going.

Yeah. I was like, the inside ramp's low. I'm like, that's a, like the inside ramp might be two foot. It's tiny. So I was like, I'll drop in on that.

Baby steps. Baby steps. But he was telling me, no, don't drop in on the one on the inside, drop in on the other one. And I was like, that doesn't make any sense to me. And he's like, well, because you've got plenty of room.

Once you drop in, you've got like all this space that's flat ground till you get to the wall ride. And I was like, yeah, whatever. So I'm just getting my balance back on the board and learning how to ollie. So I busted a couple ollies, a fakie ollie, and I attempted to do a pop shove it and landed it, and then the board slipped out from underneath me and I fell on concrete. So that was the first fall.

You've lost me already. Yeah. I'm like, I'm out of this. I fell a lot. Now you know how I felt.

I'm out of this. Yeah, fell a lot. Too much falling for me. Yeah, so I'm fucking so much shit. But on top of that, staying with the theme of hating myself, today while you guys were at the convention, I went and did more combatives training with a combatives group that we met up with.

And as soon as I got out of the car... I was like, dude, you weren't kidding, man. You look fucked up. I was like, oh, no, I'm fine. He goes, you're not walking like you're fine.

Everything's popping and cracking. Oh, man. I've got knee braces and ankle braces. Braces on every part of you. Arm braces.

Yeah, I should buy stock in Copperfit, really. I'm always joking. I need a Copperfit body cast. I thought that was the deal that your friend that owns the skate shop, I thought maybe he has like a deal with the ER. He's like, look, I'm gonna try to convince all the old dudes i know to come in here yeah you guys give me a cut every time they show.

Up yeah no and we actually talked about about that because it's like uh uh like my friend greg okay he's. 46 48 i think i don't know when we met he was like 14 and me and him skated together every day we were like best friends skated like all the time and then lost track of each other. And then he was the one that was like, Hey, we're going to get together. We're going to skate. And that was talking to him.

And he's like, I don't do anything on Fridays. I don't have anybody to skate with. He's like, you know, and I was like, well, I want to start skating again. I was like, let's start an old man skate league. I was like, so we're going to start meeting up on Friday nights or Friday afternoons up at the skate park.

And, I posted that and like several of my other friends that are in their late 40s, early 50s. Let me take my Geritol and I'll be there. Let me get my Tony Hawk and Coke you 10. Coke you 10. Yeah.

I do trust that because Tony Hawk says so. Because if anybody should know, he's an old man who's busted up his body his whole life. So he should know. Yeah, yeah. So I've got buddies that are coming out of the woodwork.

They're like, holy shit, man, I need this. I was like, come up there. But how many will actually show up? And hang out. So I told them, I was like, you don't have to skate.

Or you can just pump around on the flat ground. I was like, you know, just come hang out. You know, we're just going to listen to music, hang out, laugh. And it was a fucking awesome time. It was great.

It was like being a kid again with people that I haven't seen in years. And so it's just trying to get those other guys out because one of my buddies is like, man, I wish I'd never stopped skating. I was like, start back up, get on the board. I was like, get on it. We got flat around.

Never too late. Never too late. Cause you're not going to get any fucking younger. And that's the thing I realized. I realized we're getting older.

I want to do all the shit that I can do while I can do it. Because the days of me, and I think I talked to Randy about this one time, we were supposed to, you know, Live fast, die young. Well, what the fuck happens? You missed that off-ramp, dude. What happens when you don't die young and you still live fast?

You just hurt a lot. You hurt a lot. So I was like, fuck this, man. I'm going to keep going. I'm going to keep going.

Because you never know when it's going to be your last day. I've had too many friends just fucking check out. You know? Or have bad shit happen to them where, you know, they get cancer and they can't fucking move. Mm-hmm.

You never know, man. You never know what the hell's going to happen. Yeah, one of my friends was like, you know, if you could think of, what was it? If you were like, I don't know how to say what he even put. It was like some kind of meme.

It was talking about things that you wish you would have done before you died. You know, and I was sitting there going, I mean, I kind of wish I would have gotten to go to Japan again, but for like, an actual amount of time, not just a fucking four hour layover. Yeah. I still want to go. So let's plan that trip.

I was like, I was like, I want to do that. And I was like, really? I can't think of anything else that there's like really that I want to do. And I was like, but you know what? I was like, I never dropped in on a mini ramp.

And in a way it kind of sucks. You know, I was like, I kind of need to do that. Maybe that's what I need to do. I need to drop in on a mini ramp. And I was talking to Floyd Floyd.

He's like, dude, we're old guys. I'm telling you, skating mini ramp is way easier on you than skating concrete. Yeah. Because falling on plywood is a lot softer than falling on concrete. And fuck, I really learned that this weekend.

Because you did both. Because I did both. Yeah. And I fell on the ramp. I was like, wow, this isn't bad.

You know? Because I just fell on concrete like five times out there. But yeah, I just, you know. If you're still young, hell, if you're still old, if you can still do shit, get out and fucking do it. If you can walk, it might only be for a little while.

Yeah. Give it a shot. Yeah, fuck it, you know? Oh, jeez. Well, to bring it full circle, Misty, I would say he's the most interesting man alive.

Oh, yeah. And you didn't even fall asleep on him. See, he really is interesting because I stayed awake for him. Go ahead and tell him. Because we were walking around.

We walked through, was it the artist alley, which took us, apparently, I was the. One following the wrong area. Yeah, there's a whole, like, secret group of tunnels off in the hotel area there that I'm like, oh, I had no idea there were all these people selling their cool stuff that, like, they're just sort of tucked away in little hallways and stuff. Well, that's what they do with artists. They hide them.

Yeah. That's why they're starving. That's why I was like, do they have to pay the same as in the big room? Because that's not cool. They're all hidden away over here.

Yep. But then we were walking through there, and we were walking along, and we walked past this room, and I'm like, what's in this room? And I look at the little board, and it's like, the most interesting man in the world. And I'm like, well, fuck, let's walk on in there. Because the room was half fucking...

It wasn't even half empty. It was like there was maybe. I mean, that's a lot of those Q & As. People don't know they're going on and like. It's...

And it was out there in the middle of artist alley. Yeah, and it was tucked away over there. So, like, you know, no offense to that dude. But the million dollar question was, was he the most interesting guy in the world? Well, based on me.

I mean, I thought he was fairly interesting. I mean, I don't necessarily agree with his politics, but I still thought he was very well-spoken and could tell a story. He seemed very, you know. Well, no, politics aside, I'm just saying, is he. He's a storyteller.

He's a storyteller. But was he as interesting as the commercials made it out to be? Oh, no. Or was the commercial just... Like, the commercial wasn't... based around his actual life.

I think he's just an actor that got picked up to do that. Just because he was like, okay, yeah. But I, just what I, what I heard, I do think he is an old guy that's had an interesting life. Like, he is, naming off stuff that he's done. He's been around for a while.

So I do feel like he probably does have some interesting stories. Well, because one of his stories, somebody asked him, as the most interesting man in the world, what's the most interesting thing that's ever happened to you? It wasn't like a short answer. There was no short answer. It was a lot of stories.

And his was going to Camp David on Obama's 50th birthday party. Which again, how many people get to be special guests of any U.S. president? Not very many. And he was like telling us, apparently they were doing like sports, not like, you know, like, like a skeet shooting. Apparently Barack Obama is a hell of a skeet shooter.

And like, apparently he, this guy was archery, you know, so he fucking lit up the archery guy, dude. And it was just, apparently he was doing all the things. And then he had this long, interesting story about hanging out with Barack Obama at Camp David doing sports. Sports. Yeah.

Crazy. And then somebody did ask him to do the saying, and of course he did it. He's like, well, I haven't said that for a while. You know? So he was like, and he answered.

I mean, there weren't a lot of people there, but they all had questions, and he answered them all. And like I said, they weren't short answers. So he seems like he'd be an interesting guy to talk to, that he would have stories, and he would just be able to fill a conversation. I found him fascinating. As you took a nap.

We stopped moving. So as I've stated many a time, I've diagnosed myself as narcoleptic a long time ago. And this is not today. This is any given day of the week. If I stop moving, I fall asleep.

We sat down and I was like, Yeah, this is probably happening. I was just making sure you weren't snoring, because I was like, as if it was a boyfriend. That's rude. I don't want to hear that. That would have been fucking hilarious.

I just stopped moving, and thus I go to sleep. It's an issue. Who was the man that has fallen asleep during. I'm sorry. What were you running on about, dude?

Sorry. I was not. Really paying attention to you. Anyway. Who are you again?

Anyway. Yeah, you're not the world's most interesting man because this guy's asleep. At least we sat in the back. Yeah, we tried to keep it under wraps. We sat in the back.

You didn't want to be the guy up front because then you would have been the guy who's like, hey, hey you, wake up! You know? Do you have a question? Yeah, do you have a pillow? He would have been all pissed.

There was an extra cushy chair up front. Maybe he would have let you sit in that one beside him. He would have thought you were a heckler. Like you were just being purposely an asshole. No, dude, I just.

I try not to do this at work as well. If I stop and sit down for a minute, I might be asleep at any given moment. Oh, dude, I'm like that at break. I'm telling you, man. At break time, I sit down, I'm looking on my phone.

The next thing you know, I've dropped my phone and I'm asleep. I'm telling you. Damn it. It happens real quick. I don't even, like, what has he done?

He was, I mean, he was an actor, I'm pretty sure. Because I do remember looking him up when people were like, this is who that guy is. And I was like, who is he? He has been. Done acting over the years.

He did this other thing too about some of the roles he didn't get. And it was kind of sad at the same time. It was interesting, but it was kind of like, oh man, that sucks for you. What was the one role he was trying for that he was up for, but then somebody else beat him to it? Not the monkey role.

You'll have to tell me. Oh yeah, I tried. You were asleep. Because apparently he was offered a role in Planet of the Apes. Oh, yeah.

But then his agent called him back. It's like, what color are your eyes? He's like, well, they're blue. Oh, fuck. The monkeys have brown eyes.

So he got dropped on that one. But it seems like there was another one that was like another big movie. And for the life of me, I can't fucking remember what it was. Like, you got really far. Oh, it was the Boston Strangler movie.

All right. All right. Because he was. he almost got the role, and I can't remember who ended up with the role. He didn't sound like he was from Boston enough? Because he kind of didn't.

Well, it was a bigger name. It was like a bigger name. And like, when you got a bigger name like that coming in, I mean. Sorry, got to go. Hold on.

Now I want to know. Strangler movie. Do we want to say it's 68? Oh, Tony Curtis. Yeah, yeah.

You can't argue with Tony Curtis, man. Obviously not. It's a household name in that era. Apparently because he was the same build, the same height. He was around the same age.

Kind of resembled the guy even, supposedly. But then when fucking Tony Curtis gets in, you know. Casting is everything. So, yeah. What are you going to do?

You just go get your cool commercial gig and don't worry about it. So, that was the many fun things we did. Oh, he was in a movie that I definitely, he's in a movie I want to watch. Oh, God, here we go. I got it on Blu-ray and I haven't watched it yet.

Phantom of the Mall, Eric's Revenge. See, part two. I remember the first one. I don't even think there was a second one, or first one, was there? I don't remember.

It just went straight to part two. I kind of think so. Maybe, yeah. Maybe I'm just. Rolled it all into one thing in my head.

Because I swear I think I had that taped on VHS back in the day. I mean, it's a fucking... It's an 80s slasher film. Why don't you want to watch it? I didn't say I didn't want to watch it.

How could it be more awesome? When did I say I didn't want to watch it? I just said, hell yeah. But it's got Pauly Shore in it. Oh, never mind.

It's even better. No, it's even better. It's got Ken Faree in it. Okay, I'm on board with that. Ken's cool.

Morgan Fairchild. She's in Pee Wee. I like that. Derek Rydell. I don't even...

Who's Derek Rydell? But I enjoyed the fact that I got to see the most interesting man in the world. Me too. I was in his presence. Yeah.

Again, no reflection on him. That's my lifestyle. I fall asleep in the... A wide array of places, we'll say. All right.

So that was our fun activities for the day and this week for you, Jay, because you've done nothing but pummel yourself for a week straight. So we thought we'd work that in. I'm taking a day off tomorrow. I hope so. I'll be back at it on Monday.

Oh, God. Yeah. Assuming other people show up. Yeah. No, I hear they're showing up.

All right. Well, we want to thank the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention for letting us come and be part of the magic. Hail jail. So go to Lexington... ComicCon.com.

That's his name. I know, but I'm saying like, is that creature a breed of thing? that exists out in that universe. Yeah. Or is he the only one? Nah, it's a breed.
