Gonna die right This our town of Halloween This town of Halloween. What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian. I'm Nora.
I'm Phillip. And happy Halloween! Wee! It's the Halloween Spooktacular! You guys are excited, right?
For the holiday, yeah. Again, I'm nodding in a non-visual medium, but yes. Anyway, we are coming to you live via digital recording from Haddonfield, America's favorite quaint small town. That is the Oddity Studios. We'll get back to that in a minute.
In the meantime, plenty of ground to cover on this very special holiday episode. I guess first, if you've been paying attention lately, which this is going out on our normal feed, so you probably haven't been, so this is an advertisement to tell you you could be hearing the rest of this story if you join the club and listen to the rest of this, because we're throwing this out on the main feed to let people know we have a horror club if for some reason people haven't been paying attention. I'll get to my update in a minute, but the other thing I was going to do as a tie-in to the Horror Club and our Patreon special benefits, as I logged in this past month, at the very top, it has this special little thing that pops up, and it says, click here, because the U.S. government requires us to collect taxes.
Okay. So this is like a new thing, which says a lot about the government, that they're so on top of things that they just realized, wait, people are making money off this? Like, how many years has Patreon been a thing? And they just realized it. But yeah, so now we have to give them a cut of it.
Oh. Screw those guys. Do you have to fill out fancy forms? And that's what it is. It's click on this link to take you to the tax forms that we have to provide the government now.
Do you have to do this every year? I'm assuming. As long as you have one set up and are clearing something off of it, you now have to declare it. Which is, I get it. That's how our dumb system works.
I don't think I'm above paying taxes. So it's fine on some level, but at the same time, we don't really make anything. Like I still, I added up the other stuff like last year and I'm like, yeah, we're still not coming out ahead with Patreon. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the hell out of everybody who supports us.
But if I factor in all the other stuff, like the fact that I have to have a functioning computer and every couple of years it totally keels over and I have to buy another one. So you factor in that. And like, I just had to get like, even the newer one that I got filled up immediately because I guess that's the way they make them now as part of the scam. So like, because the, freaking audio files are so huge and all the other crap I have on there so now I had to go reload on like external hard drives to be able to store everything so that it's not clogging up the computer and like that cost a damn fortune too so the other dumb stuff I have to buy that's not officially tied to it but it can't happen without it that yeah so there's stuff like that that I'm like yeah we're not making anything guys I hate to tell you I'm still going in the hole on this so It's just a thing we do because we like talking about movies.
But the government still wants their cuts. So, join the Meltdown Horror Club and help us pay taxes. Yes. There's the real world tie-in. But also, we're going to do...
This one's going out on the main feed because it's Halloween and it's super special and we're horror and that's what we do. But we've also got two more upcoming special holiday features that are only going to be on the Patreon feed. So, if you want to see what nonsense we're doing for Thanksgiving... You better join. Christmas, we're still deciding.
I've got a couple of ideas. Hopefully you guys have a better idea. So, yeah, we'll figure it out. But we've got exclusive Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes coming out on Patreon. So join up now and help us figure out what the hell we're doing to pay our taxes.
That out of the way. There's the business out of the way. My update was going to be, if you've been listening to the Patreon feed, you know we have a pumpkin patch out front. So I've been giving the update these last couple of months and the update is mine is gone. Yeah, sadly.
It came through again right after we recorded last time. So we might be tied to this somehow. But as soon as we finished, I told you last time I had like one little strand coming up on my side and it was back far enough into like the garden area where they should just leave it alone and it'll maybe reform itself and become another giant pumpkin patch up front of my place. They came through a couple days later and cleaned out the underbrush area, which don't get me wrong, it looks better, and I sure as hell wasn't going to do it. So thanks a lot.
But they also cleared out that one little piece. No. So the last little sliver of pumpkin patch I had left has been stolen. But your neighbor still has her pumpkin patch. But right across the way.
Which is very pleasant looking. Like when this whole experience started, it was just a wild mess. But now it looks neat and manicured. It looks so cute. Yeah, it looks great.
So we are still coming just a few feet away from a pumpkin patch. So that still holds true. But it also, the wrap up for it, I guess, unless we need to come back and throw some like gourds and other random things out there for Thanksgiving. But the cornucopia of pumpkin fun out there. But that aside, if we're wrapping it up, I think my takeaway is I went and Googled when the best time to plant pumpkin seeds is.
And then next year, I think just out of spite, I'm loading up that whole front area with pumpkin seeds. I make most of my decisions based on spite. So, you know. Is there another way? It seems like the way to live.
I don't know. I mean, I'm here because I'm mad at something, but I don't remember what it is. Sucker. I've been doing this show long enough that I forgot what spited me into coming here. Yeah, it has been a while.
So, even I don't remember why this all came here. I'm just here every time. It was a hateful reason. I remember that. Actually, it was.
It was so long ago now. But I remember listening to another podcast and going, well. This is terrible. I can do better than that. And then here I am.
Hey, I got a good piece of advice one time, which is if you feel like you can do something better, just go ahead and do it. And it's arguable that it is. But I feel that I certainly enjoy what I do better than that thing I was listening to a million years ago. And here we are 30 years later. I feel like I've accomplished something.
This show has been going on since before the internet. Yeah, pretty much. I mean, actually. It feels like it. So that aside, there's your pumpkin update.
Uh, the, the next in our pre-movie, uh, breakdown here for every Halloween, we have these things that become, you know, tradition. So, uh, Phil noticed as he came in that there's a surprise waiting over there. There's a new Lego adventure. Now I've done this last year for a couple of the holidays. So I thought this time it's more fun with the grand reveal.
So I've built an elaborate set of curtains. It's very beautiful as you can see. Mm-hmm. I'm about to go unleash this new Lego adventure. Yay.
I love the Lego. Oh, spooky haunted house. So since last year, I decided we needed a spooky falling apart house to go and hang out at. So I've decided, number one, We got suckered in because in front of the house, there's a wild pumpkin patch. And we being the dorks that we are, we're like, oh, cool.
Let's go look at the pumpkin patch. And as we go walking up there, that is also not so luckily the exact same moment when a zombie outbreak kicks in and we are about to be, you know, taken down upon by a whole bunch of Lego zombies. You are once again of a bitch, Nora. So I figured you would like that butt upgrade because last year we decided that To be a witch with the witch hat, you also had to be bald. There's a new one, and you have some hair tucked up under the hat.
So now you're not a bald witch. Got that going for you. Very good. I stuck with pirate. I think I found a different hat, actually.
So it's similar, but I think you have a different colored feather. So you're a fancy pirate. Fantastic. But I also gave you a hook hand. Because I feel like if you were going to be a pirate, it would not be long, and you would lose a hand.
Oh, wait. No matter what i do it's probably not going to be long even if you're not a pirate i'm surprised now you have two hands so i just thought that was that was fitting but i decided to go with zombies as a tie-in for nora's recent Online mention of how much she loved The Living Dead and Manchester Moore. Did you want to share with people the thing you ran across on some streaming service that we're not sponsored by? What? They gave it how many skulls?
They gave it five out of five skulls. Five out of five. If you'd said five out of 37. I know. And I was shocked because usually their recommendations are really good.
And I'm like, did I miss something? Should I have liked that movie more than I did? You posted it and I was like, dude, I swear. That's the only reason I knew of it was by reputation. Horror hardcore fans love that movie and have tons of respect for it.
Five out of five doesn't surprise me. Maybe there's something. I don't get it. They couldn't even spell the name of the office right on the door. I like they couldn't even decide how to name their movie.
If you remember, it's also let sleeping corpses lie. Don't open the window. Don't spell my name right and put it on my window. I don't know. There's like 14 other titles for this movie.
As we know, so many of these movies that we watch have. So. So anyway, that's why I thought it was even funnier to go with a zombie attack. I wish one of us had one of those little strainer. scanning devices that the guys in the field had, but other than that, it's pretty good. I mean, I think I've seen a piece similar to that, so I can give you one of those as the month goes on.
I can give you a, we can put like a colander on your head and have you holding a strainer on a stick or whatever the thing is that helps you find electromagnetic zombies or whatever all that bullshit. You also have to stand next to like a thrashing machine or that giant tractor or whatever that thing was they had out in the field that Somehow is creating zombies out on us. I don't know. It's inkling. Maybe we're just not smart enough to understand.
That could be it too. So if you're a really smart horror fan and you have problems with what we're saying, you can let us know. Please let us know. Please tell me why it's good. I need to know.
I will give him credit that it was groundbreaking. I think we said that on the episode. That like it was ahead of all those other movies that came out. American-wise, but... I mean, outside of Night of the Living Dead, it was like the next big wave there, and it was before all those other ones, mostly.
Maybe that's the problem. Maybe we just didn't realize it was groundbreaking because we'd seen all that. Yeah, by the time we watched it, you know, last year, we'd seen a million other knockoff zombie movies that, you know, have come out since then. So that's probably part of it. If we were around in England in the 70s, it would have been super cool, I suppose, but.
Still no 5 out of 5 skulls maybe 3 and a half I'll give them credit for the groundbreaking attitude but yeah it still wasn't anything above and beyond it's still not a night of the living dead kind of thing so yeah anyway Lego zombies. Yeah I always knew that I'd be taken out by a horde of the undead but it's refreshing to know that you guys will be with. Me and I did put a little mixture together we do have a cheerleader zombie over there And I've got the one is a coffee shop zombie. She's wearing the old timey striped outfit, but she's still holding the decanter of coffee. She's still got the coffee pot in her hand as she's about to eat her brain.
And at least we get to die in a pumpkin patch. I mean, maybe we can fight our way out of this. I don't know. Nora, you're scrapper. That's true.
You can take it. I can fight. I feel like we need to stay out of that house because I'm pretty sure it'll collapse. I'm pretty sure we'll run right in there. Well, clearly.
And there's a ghost inside. Well, yeah. I mean, you can't tell me that that's not haunted. If you open the door, there's a ghost hanging out right inside. Neat.
Mm-hmm. All right. In the oldest ongoing tradition of all time. Ooh. I always forget about this.
Uh-oh. Are we going to be disgusted this year? I'm scared. Not necessarily. All right, so candy is the oldest for all holiday traditions, specifically Halloween.
Now, this one I went with standards first off. You got your Reese cups with little skull heads on them. This one I know everyone is disgusted by pumpkin-flavored stuff, so pumpkin-flavored Kit Kats. In a fancy new Day of the Dead bowl. I didn't have this last year, so that's fun.
Is that candy corn Kit Kat, or is it just a different wrapper? No, I think it's just pumpkin spicy. Pumpkin pie. Oh, here's what it was. Yeah, I thought that was.
But those were the standard. That was what we started off with. But then I was like, well, we need something else, obviously. Our tradition is trying something gross. Oh, no.
So I saw these and went, oh, God. Well, we have to have those. Do I hate you now or later? All the time. Have you tried this month's recipe?
Well, that's why I was like, you can hear it in the wrapper because I didn't open them up. These are ghoulish green Snickers. Ooh. There's green goo inside. Ooh.
Now. What's the tagline on the bag there? Let's see. Same great taste with ghoulish green nougat. Well, that's not so bad.
You guys know how you love ghoulish green nougat. I do. At least it tastes the same. Well, then it led me to my other. Too bad we don't have any ecto coolers to wash these down.
My other question, because I know sometimes we get into food items. Are you in fact a lacto-ovo vegetarian? Yes? I would hope you knew what it was, because I really didn't. But I was like, I know there's settings on this mode.
I think that means I still eat. Dairy and egg. It means dairy. Yeah. Dairy and egg products.
Look, even the wrappers are green. That's pretty cool. So. Oh, cute. If you want to claim something, you can escape from it.
But if you're cool with the dairy. I am. We can all partake in this green nougat. As long as it tastes fun. I don't care how.
Weird it looks. Fine. Green. It tastes green. I'm splitting mine open first because I want to see the green.
Now, this is where my brain is going to be upset because this nougat looks like it should be mint flavored. And I know it's not. And I don't want a mint flavored Snickers. Wouldn't that be more leprechaun-y? Shouldn't that be like...
I don't know. Or make it peppermint and then it's the Christmas version, but I think that's a different holiday. Tastes like a regular Snickers. Which is what I was hoping. I'm going to disagree with you guys on that.
Because, no, this is not a bad thing. I feel like there's more nougat than normal here. They're showing off. And fewer peanuts. So this is almost, almost, but not quite like a Three Musketeers with a hint of peanut to it.
Which is what I've been saying that Three Musketeers have been missing anyway. I've never really figured out what the hell's going on with Three Musketeers. I've eaten them since childhood. They're deliciously light and fluffy. I don't, yeah, I don't, they're not my favorite, but I never was like, ew, gross.
I'd still be like, well, it's a candy bar. I mean, shit. So, but every time I'm like, what is this exactly? I don't know. They just advertise how fluffy it is, but I'm like, they also act like it's the biggest chocolate bar ever.
I'm like, most of this isn't chocolate, guys. Very little chocolate. I always felt there were false advertising on that one with like stacking it next to like a Hershey bar. And I'm like, Yeah, but the Hershey bar is all chocolate. Yours is mostly fluffy crap that may or may not be nougat.
I don't know. It's not green, I can tell you that. So there you go. Oh, that was delicious. Candy.
We always have to throw in some candy. So, our normal week in and week out kind of tradition is, have you seen anything creepy lately? In the meantime, this is a prop heavy show. Nora also brought a knife. I did.
I brought my Michael Myers stabby knife. We do need more visual props on this side. As I unveiled a Lego house and busted out green candy that you can't see. Making stabby motions. I appreciate the knife, but you brought it to a Halloween show and you keep referencing Psycho every time.
We make the stabby noises. Well, I don't know. Michael Myers doesn't say anything fun when he's down. Well, neither did Norman Bates. That's true.
Beep, boop, boop, beep, boop, boop, beep, boop, beep, boop. I like dead animals. He literally just starts a conversation while he's... You ever stuff a weasel? That's great.
I love taxidermy. Hey, get up. Come on. I'm trying to think. I know I've seen a lot of scary movies lately, but now I can't remember.
Now is the time. More than ever. I mean, every month is kind of the time, but you know. October, you gotta step it up. Ooh, I do.
Okay, I remember one. I saw one called Deadstream, which just came out on Netflix. The aforementioned streaming service. Is this Al Gore's new documentary on the waterways being polluted? Dead stream.
Streams are what's killing this planet. We got to stop them. I think it was a pretty low budget, small team kind of movie. It's found footage. It's some guy who was a YouTube star and then got canceled for...
I think he had some prank video and then actually hurt the person or something like that. It could be any number of YouTube stars. Stars. And it's very self-aware and goofy. So he's not obnoxious.
With a title like Deadstream, I was not expecting digital... Content I was expecting like zombie fish. Now I'm upset. It's like live stream, but dead stream. Oh, I see what they did there.
They were going with like zombie fishing or something. Which actually, that's a show that could take off. But he gets like one sponsor to come back. But in order to get the sponsorship, he has to, like, go spend the night at this haunted house and stream the whole time. When does that happen?
And, like, can't leave. I wish that would happen for this show. And if so, where is our sponsor? I know. We sign up.
For this show. We do it. We totally do. And then it's, like, you know, then spooky stuff happens and he finds the ghost. But it's really, like...
It's very creative, because when I read the description, I just threw it on. I was like, it's dumb. I've seen it before, but I'll just put it on in the background. But it was really fun, and it was kind of Evil Dead-y. There were a lot of jump moments.
There were moments where I genuinely yelled. I've seen most things like that that don't make me like, ah! But it was really fun. Dead stream, you say? Dead stream.
I will have to check that out. So, yeah. It looked kind of like your run-of-the-mill found footage kind of thing, but it surprised me. Nice. If you don't have one, I definitely remembered a pretty recent one.
All right, what is up on your list? I recently sat down, finally, to watch the new Munsters movie. Oh! Yeah. Yep.
Speaking of Halloween, there's our old pal Rob Zombie. I will say this. I did not hate it. Like, a lot of people. I mean, everybody got so up in arms just when that first trailer came out.
And, like, I'm looking at it going, yeah, it looks dorky. But, I mean, have you watched The Monster? Yeah. Don't get me wrong. I love that show.
I grew up on that show. And I understand why people would get so precious about it. But, like, when I see them doing their impression of them, I'm like, I mean, they're still kind of doing that same goofy thing that they did on the TV show. I don't know how you can be this upset. You can be like, maybe I don't like these actors that are doing it.
Except Daniel Roebuck is pretty awesome. But the other two, if you want to get mad at them, okay. But I was just like, they're not that far off. Have you seen it? How can you be mad?
No, I have not watched the entire movie. Just the trailer. It is not the worst movie I've ever seen. It falls flat pretty much everywhere. Right.
And there's a lot of choices that make zero sense. Like they show the creation of Herman Munster, which really didn't need. We kind of get it, but all right. But they do the whole classic Frankenstein switch up. We're like, oh, the brain of this genius that we're going to use gets destroyed.
So let's use the brain of this other guy who turns out to be a stand-up comedian. So now we've explained why Herman is so silly. I guess. But then... Instead of making him a stand-up comedian, they put him in a rock band, which looks cool.
But it's him and like two or three zombies on the other instruments. And it looks amazing. Okay. But it's like you're not even following what you've already established in this movie. And then we get to the end of it.
Oh, and by the way, a lot of people were talking smack about Sherry Moon Zombie before. play Lily Munster, but she did a fine job. See, that's the thing. She can do what she does really well. I don't know that she's got a whole lot of potential to play other types of roles, but sometimes he uses her really well. It does get ridiculous that she's in every movie, but he married her.
What are you going to do? You've got to support the household. It's twice as much income coming in. And then the movie just goes on for a while, and then just sort of stops like there's no real ending it's just like that movie's over see you. Later weird but see that that what you just said is like right on track with everything i've said about all these movies because i've had so many problems with a lot of rob zombie stuff and i know the internet's full of people with that but i think so much of it comes back to that he's so obsessed with his own stuff yeah that like he's beyond self-indulgent as a director and it's like you've got to at least make things serviceable for an audience like unless you just want this to be like your really expensive hobby you know this is this side project of like here's what i want to do is make this stuff that's exactly the things i like i'm like okay but it still should be functional story-wise.
Yeah i mean the whole movie is the the whole movie serves as a prequel for the tv show yeah because it's before the kids and yeah because there's no there's no eddie there's no maryland yeah um It's just them hanging out in Transylvania. It shows how they find Spot, which was. Kind of cute. That could be fun, yeah. Except they actually show you what Spot looks like, which kind of kills the whole thing.
Yeah, I liked the way he was presented on the show. They get chased out of Transylvania, not by the way you would normally think monsters. Would get chased out of Transylvania. No torches and pitchforks? No.
Well, no, and... Then they wind up in America and they find the house, the famous house that they live in. 1313. And then the movie's done. Sequel.
I guess. And again. Was it the worst movie I've ever seen? No. Was it the best movie I've ever seen?
Not even close. The things I've heard about it that were positive were the things I've always said about Rob Zombie. Visually. Oh, visually it looks great. And that's what...
Yeah, they're like, everything's lit and green and it looks amazing if you're a horror dork. And I'm just like, yeah, that's what he does. My one complaint about visually of the movie is it's a little too high def. Yeah. Like, it was shot on a really nice but amateur... quality camera um the lighting's good the the props are great um.
It's probably just shit from his house it's nothing but a collector dork with a lot of money. Uh the makeup amazing yeah the uh the another thing about it is it's full of jokes which is fine But none of the jokes are, like, laugh out loud. Like, even the ones that landed, I was just kind of like, oh, okay. That's about it. Like, is he known for joke writing?
No, he's not. You know, I was like, he can sort of skate by as a horror director because at least he's really into horror. Again, I think he's more self-indulgent than he needs to be. But still, like. But I saw what he was going for.
He was trying to be silly, which was fine. Which is not his normal thing. The show is silly. Good to branch out. And it's hard to be silly on purpose and make it good.
Yeah. I don't know. I will still probably eventually get to it. You know, check it out. Give it a shot.
I've pushed off a lot of his later movies. Yeah. These last several. One of which I bought a copy of and got about five minutes. In and went, no.
I need to stop for a minute. Like it was already so self-indulgent. I was just like, I'm just going to save this for an episode. Like then I'll have a reason to watch it because right now I cannot give myself enough reason to keep going. I get really frustrated with him as a director.
The soundtrack was great. Again, I agree with most of his things that he's into because he put together that compilation of like it's Halloween Hootenanny and like I bought that. It's a great album. So like he can pick other songs that are really cool. And like, that's so many things he does.
I think he's good at, but like, it's the way he does it and puts them together in his movies. A lot of times I'm like, it just rubs me the wrong way. I will give him, I will give him credit. It's obvious that you can tell that he loves the source material that he's working with. And that's, that's cool.
I like that. I just, again, it's the delivery system through him that somehow messes things up for me. But yeah, Yeah, I wish he had a really good writing partner. Yeah. Someone who, because he does visually great stuff, but he needs someone to be like, this doesn't make sense.
Did he write this? I don't know. Because I almost feel like the version of the screenplay that we get in the movie, if whoever had written that had taken that and then given it to somebody else, given it to a fresh set of eyes to go over, it would have made a huge difference. Yeah. But that's what I've said all along with a lot of directors these days.
But in general with him, I remember specifically, and we'll come back to this later, but like the Halloween stuff, there's so much of that that I was like, visuals. Like some of that stuff in Halloween 2 is phenomenal to look at. And then the plot happens, you know? I was just like, you need just the... To interrupt myself, yes, he co-wrote.
So he did have somebody else, but it's... rob zombie and norm liebman and based on characters developed by ed haas right old school version but yeah those he co-wrote which again i'm like maybe you just don't need to write any of this just hand it off and let somebody else do it but i do really like daniel roebuck and everything i've seen i follow him on facebook or whatever and he keeps posting stuff and like He seemed so thrilled to be part of this in general. Which one was Daniel Robo? The grandpa. Oh, okay. He was good.
And that's the thing. He's just like, this is like my dream come true. Like, he's the biggest monster kid ever. And he's just like, this was all I've ever wanted, you know? So it's like, yeah, it's like super cool that he got to do this.
I wish it was a better version. You know, whatever. He's he's friends with rob zombie so like it's awesome that he got to do this mine i it was a one-two punch and it happened because of part two but um i revisited one of my favorite movies from my ute um have you seen the original the hitcher Not the dumb remake that just happened, which I'm only saying. I haven't even watched it, so I don't know. It could be functional.
But I was just such a big fan of the original. Notice he said functional. Not good, not great, not okay. Again, I'm already biased. But that first one, it was one of those things I saw as a kid on cable that I probably didn't need to be watching.
And then I recorded it because I thought it was so awesome. So, yeah, I just watched it a ton more. growing up and like really loved how like weird and over the top this this crazy version of this hitchhiker story is because it's similar to most of your hitchhiker horror stories but like maybe up a notch it's rutger howard who is amazing yeah yeah i mean rutger howard anything is amazing. Same thing i watched it on cable when i should not. Have been and like he's so good at being this like creepy detached weird guy and like he's that's what he does best he's rocker howard but also like see thomas howell at that point was so i forgot like watching it again i'm like he's so young like he's such a clean-cut kid that you're just like oh man i feel so bad for this kid because he's thrown in the middle of all this insanity and jennifer jason lee's in it and adorable and super great and like so all that stuff comes together The reason I went back and rewatched it, I mean, other than I remembered it being great, but what prompted me to was I picked up, as I've said many a time, I buy a lot of dumb DVDs for nothing.
I ran into a copy of The Hitcher 2. Oh. Which happened. I didn't know existed until just a few minutes ago. Wait, what?
Not the dumb remake? Oh, man, I forgot. I forgot just how dreamy C. Thomas Howell was. See what I'm saying?
Especially now, because have you seen him lately? He has a crazy old man beard now. He's got the... If you've noticed this as well, let me know. But it seems like since whatever the second newest Star Wars movie was, it seems like there's a lot of guys that age that are adopting the grizzled hermit Skywalker look.
He wanted to be lettered. This is what he looks like now. Oh. And not a bad looking guy, but just crazy looking. But yeah, it looks, again, it's the Letterman look now.
Like once he got off TV, he's like just growing a crazy old man beard. But that's what he looked like in The Hitcher. See, he's adorable. He's cute. Look at him.
So yeah, I love the original movie. Had no idea. Maybe I knew and forgot, but like in my current mind, had no idea there was a sequel. So I pick it up and I'm like, well, I'm going to have to, because it did have him in it. I was like, wait, so. see Thomas Howell came back to do this.
Like that's weird. So, um, yeah, the one side I was like, well then I need to rewatch it. Cause it's been years since I watched the first one. I watched the first one, man. It is awesome.
At times almost moves into action because there's car chase stuff that happens. And I'm like, how did they even like for a low budget movie? Like there's some impressive car stunt stuff going on. And I'm like, that's awesome. Like I didn't even remember how elaborate some of that stuff gets.
But, yeah, there's just every time you think, see, Thomas Howell couldn't get screwed more, this evil bastard finds a way to take it up a notch. So, like, that, revisiting that, so much fun. The second one. What a weird idea. What's the plot?
So, it kind of happens again. Hitchhiker with a shotgun. Yeah, he just comes back. He comes, it's like. It's the amount of time it had been.
Let me double check on the year. 86 was the first one. Yeah, it was 86. Let me look it up and make sure. Because it's way later.
Not everything needs a sequel. Yeah. If it weren't for sequels, we wouldn't be. Sitting here today. Exactly my point.
This wasn't even the time of let's reboot everything. It was that early. It was a random ass sequel. Let me see what year. 2003.
What? So I guess the wave of, you know, that 2000s new blood horror coming along and they went, well, let's find a way to tap into this old one, but kind of do a new thing. But it makes no sense. There's so many times, again, like I can go along with Farfetch'd. I can, again, if you pull a diehard move, And you go, how can the same shit be happening to the same guy?
It makes it okay. You're just like, all right, you've acknowledged this is ridiculous, that it happens again, and it's all right. But there are times when they very obviously try to make it seem like this new hitchhiker character, which, by the way, played by Jake Busey. Don't get me wrong, I love some Jake Busey. But for the wrong reasons.
Yeah, I mean, that is a weird move from Rutger Hauer to Jake Busey. And then... At times they hint at the fact that it's the same guy. Even though we know it's not. And they don't explain how it could be or why it would be.
Oh my. Did you get the car yet? No. Because it's really. I'm on the Hitcher 2 Wikipedia page.
And what you've left out but makes sense compared to everything that you just said. The full title of this movie is The Hitcher 2 I've Been Waiting. And don't worry. They work that line in and it doesn't make any damn sense when it gets used. And then later they come back to things about it sort of maybe and they don't explain them.
It is so ridiculous that I'm just like there. And again, there are moments that are functional. Back to my word that work as an action movie work as a horror ish kind of movie. Um, luckily I'm at least enough of a dork that I like Kari worse. So like it is kind of a Kari vehicle more than anything.
So yeah, she comes in as the new person that, uh, see Thomas Howell is with. And a lot of what goes on becomes about her. So the, I, I. I know all of the words in this description. This makes no sense.
I mean, it is, if you like the first one, normally I say if you like the first one, just don't go there. Leave it alone. To me, if you like the first one, or if you need to watch the first one so that you can get to this ridiculous, please do. Because the first one's awesome. But just to watch the second one and go, wait, who said to do this?
Like, why would you? And you have to, you can't just not explain this part. And they don't. They just don't. They don't care.
Is there any overlap between? cast and crew apart from C. Thomas Howe in the two movies. One of the cops that is the one that tries to help him more than most because most of what happens in the first one is the cops just think he keeps doing all this stuff. Sure. So eventually there's one that like starts to be like oh I think something weird is going on here.
That guy is still around and like is sort of the tying like he calls him up and is like hey man I'm going through some shit. He's still got PTSD essentially. He's trying to carry on with his life as a normal person but He's still got a lot of issues he's dealing with. Nope, different director, different writer. Mm-hmm.
Just kind of a cash-in, which I can see them doing, but that's what I thought was weird that C. Thomas Howell came back for it. So I'm like, well, then maybe it's at least an interesting story, which I guess to some extent it is, but it is a weird way to take it. Anyway, yeah, that's what I watched. One and two.
Have not gotten to the reboot yet. I guess I will eventually. Speaking of revisiting things, that same night that I watched The Munsters, I also went back and watched the Jeff Goldblum version of The Fly. That holds up. Which holds up really well.
Cronenberg knows what he's doing, man. You know, I sat down to watch it with a group of people and some people there had never seen it. So I mentioned, oh, it's a David Cronenberg movie. And they were like, whoever heard that was like, oh man, what am I getting into? And I was like, Well, it's really kind of tame for his stuff.
And then I watched it and I was like, it's tame for his stuff, but not for other mainstream movies. I don't know. It's sort of maybe the most Cronenberg-y. What's weird is. Yeah, but it's spread out.
Speaking of weird sequels, I went back in the last year and rewatched The Fly 2, Son of the Fly, whatever. It's actually, again, it's pretty good. good for what it is like it's certainly not gonna be david cronenberg because he did not come back obviously but it's it's interesting what they do and then as they get into the creature effects type stuff i'm like oh maybe this is the most cronenbergian thing ever with no cronenberg involved because the as now rick and morty use the term cronenbergian as a thing the thing comes into play a lot in that movie so i'm just like oh this is very cronenbergian without cronenberg So, yeah, The Fly 2. It's watchable. That's a nice young Eric Stoltz movie. Oh, I thought of one more.
Okay. All right. What do you got? Since we're on the topic of The Fly and things, I finally watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Original issue.
Wow, what'd you think? OG. There's something about that movie that really unsettled me. Yes. It's unnerving.
Like, I felt nauseous the entire time I was watching it. Like, I thought I might throw up. It's unnerving. It was I don't know why. Because it's one of those I don't like want to revisit it kind of love it like I respect it more than anything exactly like I respect what it did and how early it did it once again like like the thing we were talking about earlier like it was groundbreaking in ways that we weren't even prepared for horror movie wise like well before any of your slashers came along.
They did that, and not for that reason, because there was no slasher genre. So it was just a weird movie. Yeah. What I love about it is, given its subject, given what the plot is about, there's almost, almost no gore in that movie. Yeah.
And it's still terrifying, and like you said, disturbing. Awful, yeah. Because you walk away. From it going. Is that going to happen to me tomorrow?
I know. It's so dirty and mean. Another reason why I don't go to Texas. It is great. Mean is a good way to describe it.
It's just a mean movie. I think that's why I don't like to revisit it. I've watched it once or twice in the last 20 years or more. It's because once you get into it, the setup is really cool, but once you get in there and you deal with the family... They're all so horrible.
Leatherface is the charming one of the bunch. Everybody else is just so terrible. Every time I watch it, I feel just a little bit more compassion towards Leatherface. Oh, yeah. And for what he's going through.
It's such a mess. He has no control over this. He was forced into this life, essentially. There's a scene that always freaks me out, and it's... I don't remember what leads up to it, but basically Leatherface has screwed something up and he's getting yelled at by the, by the old guy.
And he has like a freak out moment. And then he just, he sits like on the edge of a chair and he's like rubbing his head. And then he just looks right into the camera and there's nothing behind his eyes. And it's just so terrifying. It's unnerving.
And that's what I realized. Like that's so much of what's weird and raw about that movie is like it, It's unnerving and it makes you feel creepy and grimy and gross. Yeah. That's the part that's held up so amazingly well. Yeah.
Well, and the fact that the big critics of the day, We're like, this is actually a well put together movie and it is like more terrifying and better made than it needs to be. And made for nothing. Like you look at that, like they were skating by on no budget. And like it doesn't, again, because of the nature of the grossness of the movie, like all you need is a house falling down. Like that's pretty much it.
So like once you got that. Just cover everything in grime. Throw a lot of flies in there. Make it 900 degrees because you're in Texas. That's what everybody forgets about that movie.
It's Texas in the summer. They were shooting and Leatherface is in that freaking mask. All those scenes where they're in the van just had to be torture because of the heat. But then, yeah, then you add in the rotten smells and everything that we as the viewer don't pick up on. But the last...
Day of filming, they were so far behind, they did a 24-hour shoot. Oh, God. And, yeah, it drove. People insane, basically. Well, and then you get to the funny thing as you look back on it now and the thing that it's known for and the thing that's in the title.
Were you expecting more chainsaw murder? Yeah. Because we get one. We get one. Granted, he's the most annoying character in the damn movie.
I know we're probably supposed to feel bad for him, but we don't. I don't feel bad. He's obnoxious. I don't feel bad for Franklin. No, he was the worst.
I feel bad for Sally. Yeah. She's the only character that I... Well, that and the girl when they open the freezer, she's sort of still alive. I feel bad for her.
Yeah. But I feel really bad for Sally. Because her life after that day had to be just. How do you deal with that? Not great.
But yeah, that's what I later went back and was like, wait, it's mostly bludgeoning. This could be the Texas bludgeoning murder massacre. He just mostly bludgeons people. And then the one jerk, he takes him out with the chainsaw. He saws Franklin in half and he cuts his own leg off.
Yeah, he swings it around and does his cool dance. But other than that, it's mostly bludgeoning. Yeah it was i mean i'm glad i watched. It had you seen any of the sequel prequel crazy bullshit that's happened. Because i've lost i don't think there's so many other like i knew the original four run back in the vhs kind of days but since then like i remembered the remake i saw that from that point on i've lost track because they have done A prequel to that and then another prequel since then and then another remake and another remake.
There's at least two remakes and at least two prequels. Because then they do that weird 3D one that was also a remake. I can't keep track. Well, there's prequels to the original one. I think there's two of those.
There's prequels to at least one of the remakes. Original sequel prequels? And as the movies go on, they made what I feel like is a huge mistake starting with part two. They started to develop Leatherface's character. Yeah.
And it makes him less terrifying. Well, yeah. I mean, by the fourth one, he is a joke. Yes. He is completely silly.
Wait, is the fourth one the Matthew McConaughey one? Yes, which don't get me wrong. I'm not saying don't watch that because it is a joy. Matthew McConaughey is amazing. He's a madman.
Is that the one with him and Renee Zellweger? Yes, it is. She is entertaining, but not near the level of insanity that is Matthew McConaughey. Oh my God. It is so much fun because of him.
Part three has my favorite joke in the entire series because Leatherface has one of those old speaking spells and it shows a picture of a clown and he's supposed to type in what it is. Well, you see him type F-O-O-D and the speaking spell is like, that's incorrect. So he types it in again, and the more he types it in, and the more the speaking spells like this incorrect, the madder he gets. Oh, my goodness. Oh, it's so great.
I haven't watched Leatherface slash the third one in, like, again, I think I saw it one time years ago. I know everybody loves part two, which I didn't care for. It was okay. Again, I haven't seen it in a long time, but at the time, I loved it again because of one reason. insane cast member you add Dennis Hopper to anything and I'm gonna love it who disappears for about a half an hour which again is a problem with any movie you need more Dennis Hopper especially insane Dennis Hopper so yeah for that reason two and four have great special cast members that make it worth watching even if like story wise they don't make any damn sense. But I feel like that would, yeah, make it better to watch and feel less like.
Yeah. Because the first one just felt so real and it's like you don't recognize any of the people and it just. Yeah. And it is weird. So I think throwing that in might help me a little bit.
It is weird still having that same director, but like he just loosened it up and was like, we're going to have fun and we want to make a comedy this time, kind of. At one point he said that the first one is full of jokes that nobody picks up on. And he was disappointed by that. So he's like, screw it. This next one is going to be Aldrich.
We're turning up the comedy. Again, that's one of the more inspired roles of Bill Moseley. So another reason to watch because he is, if there's something creepy going on there, it's Bill Moseley more than Leatherface. But yeah, he is very entertaining in his role as well. Watch part two while part one is fresh in your mind.
There's a couple of references that you'll you'll need to remember. Totally different beast. Yeah, tone-wise, you'll be safe. It's not creepy like the first one. It's fun and over the top.
You'll either walk away thinking that's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, funniest gory movies I've ever seen, or you'll walk away going, what the hell? Well, I mean, you've seen the poster of the second one, haven't you? Okay, go ahead and bring it up. I don't know. Because it's not like he was pretending to do something else with the movie.
The poster itself is a joke. So he should have clued everybody. I don't think people realized it at first either. Like, I think they're like, oh, look at that. But like.
It's actually an amazing poster. It's brilliant. I will give them, especially at the time. It's very, before I show it to you, I will say this. It's very Breakfast Club.
Okay. Oh my. Like, exactly. Like, it went out of their way. to do it. Now I do vaguely remember seeing that.
I mean, it's exactly laid out just like The Breakfast Club. That's funny. I mean, it came out with that poster. It was a joke from day one. What a weird turn.
Again, horror fans didn't pick up on it right away. People love it now, though. It's got a huge cult following now. What's funny is I never... piece together how exactly oh yeah it is exact i just always thought oh they're ripping off they're kind of ripping it off now that i see it i'm like oh my god it is exact it is hilarious wouldn't it be great though if part two came out before the breakfast. Club they were like you know that texas chainsaw sequel that's what i'm thinking for our poster that's the vibe that's the yeah you know molly ringwald she's kind of leather facey you know all get it.
Alright, so everybody remember this date? Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 came out August 22nd. I think it was really close too. Now we're going to look up the Breakfast Club release date. I really want Alright, Breakfast Club was February 15th, 1985.
But still, that's pretty quick turnaround. That's pretty quick turnaround. Again, you've got to be pretty damn funny to be like, guys, wait. We're getting ready to put the press materials together. I've got an idea.
That's pretty awesome. Come on now. Wow. So yeah, there you go. We found a lot of great movies.
We're done with this episode, right? No. No. Guess we should start getting started on our movie-o-the-episode. Get more out of life.
Go out to. A movie. It's been four years since Michael Myers vanished. Without a trace. Hello?
I was certain that I saw him. Watching me. You pretend like you moved on, but you're actually just obsessed with Devin. What are you gonna do when Michael comes back for you? Because he is coming.
But this time, something feels different. He's more dangerous. He killed my daughter. But tonight, I will kill him. Come and get me.
Police! Maybe the only way he can die is if I die too. It all ends now. Through the nauseous night I'll. Soar Through the pools.
Of rancid war Through the sewer pipes I'll crawl To the horror hall To the hall. Where vampires scream Ah! Happy Halloween. From the cold and ancient graves. From the coffins and the caves.
From the rocks and werewolf nests. Come the ghastly ghasts. Gonna have a nightmare dream. Happy Halloween. So little witch we've got.
So, this Halloween edition Horror Club sofa theater feature slash out on the town feature is Halloween Ends. I hope so. The year is 2022. The director is David Gordon Green and the plot, according to IMDb, and I feel like this came out of the press junket. The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode comes to a spine-chilling climax in this final installment of this trilogy.
Really? Are you just patting yourself on the back there? Because I feel like Not so spine-chilling. But we'll get to that. Spoiler alert!
There was a lot to ruin here, and we're going to ruin every bit of it if I. Have anything to say about that. I kind of feel like we have to. Yeah. I mean, I have a...
I'm going to... Before we even get to the movie, I'm going to get to what happened, because you both watched it in the safety of your homes, right? I saw it in the theater. Did you? Oh, that's right.
I remember you said that. Thankfully, unlike the last two, it was a mostly empty theater. We'll get into that. Well, that's what I was going to say. I was going to describe my experience as soon as the movie ends, and that kind of puts in perspective how the whole thing went and my feelings at the time and whether or not I've changed them.
I don't know. So I get there, and I'm in the theater, and I got a seat well ahead of time, and I probably didn't have to because I got there, and there was one guy in my row. And then eventually, right when the movie started rolling... Another guy sat down on the other end of the aisle. So there were three in the entire row.
And it wasn't even a huge theater because that was the next. I didn't do the Super XD version because I'm like, really, Halloween? Who cares? It's not like this is freaking Avatar. Being the middle person in that scenario would have driven me nuts.
Well, we were on opposite ends, though. They weren't right next to me. Are you saying because I couldn't escape? Yeah, well, regardless of what movie I'd be watching, if there's me and two other people in a movie theater, no matter how far away they sat, if they were both in my row and I was the one in the middle, I'd be like, no. I was fine because I had the better seat.
They were both at a weird angle, so tough luck for them. But I could have escaped before the movie was over because guy on the left end got up left. Wow. How far into the movie? Pretty far in.
Okay. Like. jumping we've already thrown out the spoiler alert when they're loading up the body at the end before they finished just walked out i was like okay you wasted this much of your day and then you're gonna leave without seeing the end i was like what is that like if you get 20 minutes in and you're like screw this i got better things to do all right i don't agree with that in a movie but i can understand your reason. In this movie i would have understood leaving at the 20 minute mark See, we'll get to that, but I didn't finish. Oh, I forgot these are pumpkin pie flavored. Sucker!
That's why I got them, just to kind of annoy people a little bit. They're like, ah, Kit Kat, yeah! A lot of ginger and cinnamon there. There you go. I like them in small doses, and then when I don't eat that many, and you guys don't eat that many, I take them over on Halloween, and I'm like, here kids, have some candy.
And then they go, Kit Kat! So, I can pass on the annoyance to the next generation. So my other portion of the, that was just while the movie was going on. What may have been the creepiest and most effective thing in this trip was as the movie was coming to an end, the credits are rolling by, I'm the dork still sitting there, and the lights are like still halfway on at that point because once the credits started rolling, they turned on the lights. So the one over on the right side is going flicker, flicker, flicker.
And I'm like, Is it supposed to be doing that? Wait, was he saying one on the right side was flickering? Do you mean the light? The light itself was doing a weird horror movie flicker. And I was like, did they do that on purpose?
Like that's an extra special. Is this like a 4D experience I'm in the middle of here? So it kept doing it. And I was like, all right, whatever. So then it gets to the end of the credits and all the lights go down.
It is pitch black. And it stayed that way for like 10 seconds. So I'm just sitting there and I'm like, I think I'm the only one left in the theater. Guys, did everybody go home? I was just like, if they turn the lights on and there's somebody in full Michael Myers get up and right in front of me, I will shake your hand.
That would be the coolest thing ever. I feel like you would have gotten your money's worth. Yeah, they should have. The fact that they don't do that more often is really a little annoying. I mean, they're a chain theater.
I guess they don't get a whole lot of leeway with that kind of fun stuff. But still. come on they really should have done that eventually the lights came back on and it was normal and there was no michael myers no blood everywhere at least nora should have shown up with her stabby knife and like so that was maybe the most effective portion of the creepiness i was like huh this seems like something went wrong like but it didn't end there i thought that was it i was getting ready to go walk outside As I'm coming through, I'm rounding the corner and we're just going to call him Usher Kid. So Usher Kid comes around the corner and we about run into each other. And I just kind of do the head nod and, hey, just acknowledging there's a person there and we didn't run into each other.
So as I get around the corner, he looks over the top as he's going up the stairs and he goes, so did you like it? And at that point, like I just finished this nonsense. So like I'm still processing a whole lot. So I'm just like, I literally went, it was just a pause and I went, I don't really know what I think. And so he just kind of went right on.
He didn't really even laugh. He was just like, all right, whatever. He's like, okay, one question. He's like, did he die? He was maybe 17.
Like, there's no way he was any older than that. So I was like, number one, I'm not cool with spoiling things for other people. Even if you're one of those people who doesn't care about it, that's for you. I'm not here to do that. And also, really?
I mean, are you gonna, sum it up in that one sentence so I gave him the usual me being the dork but I am kind of an answer which is as much as Michael Myers dies in every movie now technically maybe a little more maybe a little more in this one but really would you be shocked if he came back he might I've seen Jason and Six. He might come back, no problems. I just watched a Freddy movie. He reformed his bones and re-put skin back on him and stood up and put his hat on. So, you know, they're never really done.
If a horror movie wants to have a sequel, they'll have a sequel, damn it. Which I would have even given them credit if they did that in this movie. Like he goes through the thing and just pops up like, hey, what's up guys? So, yeah, that was my interaction with the Usher kid. He just kind of laughed and was going on about it.
He was like, yeah, you know, so not really going on about it. I was like, good. That means you got to watch it now, sucker. So that was my before we get into it experience. My I had a this is a recurring thing for me whenever I go see horror movies.
It never happens at comedies, never happens at animated movies. But, like, I'll get out, and if the movie is just the teeniest bit scary, you know, every time I leave the theater, I go straight to the men's room because I'm an old man and can't hold it for more than 20 minutes. That's part of the routine. But I go in the bathroom, and it's always completely empty. Yeah.
And, yeah, that's what happened this time, and I was just like, I mean, yeah, it's not as effective as your flickering light. Well, again, sometimes when you're enough of a horror geek, you start to see it happen in the real world. You're like, oh, am I about to die? So I'd say where do we begin? But I mean, we get the intro before we even get to the finishing the credits part.
We get our DJ guy before they're even done showing you the logos and shit. Was he a thing before? I don't remember. I don't remember him being a thing before, but they work him in like he's been the biggest part of this trilogy. I will get to this more later, but I feel like this movie rips off a lot of other movies, and he's one of many examples of that.
Speaking of Texas Chainsaw 2? No, actually, I was thinking The Warriors. Well, yeah, definitely. But, yeah. I mean, I don't have a problem with him.
It's just they came in like he was a thing already. I'm like, shouldn't you have done that in the first one? If you're going to make this part of the overarching identity of the community of Haddonfield. I mean, I don't know. It seems like that was a weird add-on that you didn't think of until the third movie, really.
That was just a weird part of it. But he picked a good song. I liked our intro song. Again, the music was great. That was fun.
But he was, yeah, when he first, well, the first time you hear his voice in this movie, oh, it's going to be one of those, where you have a movie where the narration is carried on, or the narrative is carried on by some sort of unseen person, whether it be a voiceover or a DJ, and we get both in this one. What if they had zoomed out and it was Michael Myers? Hey, guys! That would have been great. here we are yeah yeah that'd be kind of awesome actually i mean so i mean we can try to hit some. Specifics but i have very complex yeah i feel like we're gonna have a whole lot of bouncing all over the place and what about so i.
Think the fair warning the. First scene was maybe the best. Part With the babysitter? Oh, yeah, the babysitter. Well, my first thought right there was like, okay, they've switched it up.
It's a male babysitter instead of a female babysitter. All right, I can get this. And then it leads right into, it's like, oh, he's killed somebody on Halloween. This is going to come back later. Yeah.
Yeah. I will go ahead and say, and this might be annoying to everyone, there was so much of this I was enjoying most of the way through. Yeah. And that's the part that was almost confusing me. I will give them credit because I said to you guys beforehand, I was like, I'm trying not to watch the commercials because I feel like they're showing you way too much.
Way to plant those commercials so that it looks like an entirely different movie in those commercials. Yeah. So once you get into this and it was doing... weird shit and i was not expecting i was like all right points to you this is off the rails but in a way i did not expect so i will. Give you credit you guys remember during the first installment of this trilogy i had said i really hope that the third one they do like they did with the original third one and it has nothing to do with michael myers and about 25 minutes into it i'm like this has nothing to do with Michael Myers. And then I was like, I'm watching a very special episode of Dawson's.
Creek right now. They did do a spooky Halloween episode. Because it is a troubled, it's not a slasher movie, it is a troubled teen relationship movie. Yeah. And the thing is, that's the part of it I liked.
Like, as we go on, and that's where I feel like David Gordon Green and the other three writers, we needed four people to write this, But between all of them, I feel like they copped out by the end and gave us the boring traditional part one, kind of part two, like a mixture of one and two thrown together in the last 15 minutes episode that they were like, well, we got to do this because that's what people expect. Yes. But everything leading up to that, like before, especially before we even get to Michael, like before we even ran into the Michael Myers that we see, I was having a lot of fun with it because it was so different, because it was so weird. And even as it went on, it went in weird directions.
And I'm like, okay, this is at least doing different stuff and kind of Halloween 3-ing it in a way of like, screw you guys. We're going to do whatever the hell we want. Here's one of my... Rip-offs. Because, well, I mean, it becomes pretty obvious after a while with all the focus we're giving on Corey and how much we're not seeing Michael Myers.
You know, it's like, okay, so maybe Corey is going to be the new Haddonfield boogeyman, which was rip-off to me of Friday the 13th Part 5, where we think Tommy's going to be the new Jason. But in a way, I'm like, I kind of wish they would have done that. like not to jump to the end but I'm like if they left it as like and then he gets. Away wait which one are we talking about Halloween or no. This movie okay like if we wouldn't have because we already wrapped it up like if you want I would have liked better again because I've had problems with the other two especially the last one I'm like, what if we introduced him at the beginning and this whole overarching story, we've got this guy and his problems and like, he's trying not.
And by the end, he's been through so much shit that he does become the new killer of, of Haddonfield. And like, that would at least be different and an interesting way to take it. And kind of Halloween or kind of part five, Jason, but in a, in a better way, you know, cause we definitely developed his character along the way. Like even in this one movie, Like, I'm mostly on his side through a lot of this movie. I'm like, man, this kid got screwed over.
And like, everybody's against him in this town. I really thought that the movie was going to end with the real Michael Myers being killed. Corey puts on the mask and just disappears in the night. And then there's our whole new series. And I was fine with that.
It felt like such a waste. I was like, then what? was all that for. And it takes such a hard turn with his personality i'm like he's just victim victim victim and then all of a sudden he's just like and i'm gonna start killing people but wait no you weren't the killer that was the thing everybody treated you like that yeah you weren't doing it and now in this one little weird move you've become crazy and like every Other scene, he's murdering people. I'm like, but where did this come from? Like you haven't been that guy.
That was the whole point of the first half of this movie up to now was you had none of that. Everyone just assumed you did and made up stories about you, but like you weren't that guy. So now weirdly, like it would make more sense if this was a three movie arc and midway in, like slowly as we go along, he really does start to take this stuff in and it starts to weigh on him so much that he starts to lose it. But here it's like flip on a switch and now he's a homicidal maniac. Yeah.
I remember thinking so clearly. I was like, okay, this is the exact moment where this movie goes from being kind of okay to dumb. And I was kind of right. I mean, it kind of redeemed itself a little here and there, but it's the part where he's in the sewer. Michael grabs him.
And for some reason, maybe they have a psychic connection. I don't know. I'll tell you the answer if you want. But I just... And then we have...
Now we've ripped off Jason Goes to Hell, where Jason's hopping around in bodies. I'm just like, good lord. I. Well, I haven't... I was gonna see if you got the same thing from that scene that I did that's a different movie that we're kind of ripping off but we didn't fully go there I wish they did really but before that and I assumed there was part of that's kind of the story I was making up of the didn't kill him in the sewer scene but in getting the piecing this together on Wikipedia I On Wikipedia, it says, as they're in the sewer, they're doing a bad job of like recapping and jumping all over.
But when they get to the sewer scene, Michael sees the emptiness in his eyes and decides to let him live. So he basically sees this mirror image of him. According to Wikipedia? See, that was kind of what I was. Which is what I thought.
I guess. But I was like, the fact that Wikipedia took it upon itself to break down the behind the scenes for you. So my go-to in the sewer, though, was... when we get to that scene and like, he like comes in and we've got this big monster attacking him kind of, but not really. And then they sort of like stop and they're kind of getting along. I was just like, did we just get into a Frankenstein thing where now he's like him and the blind man and like, he's going to like take care of him now.
And like, he's not afraid of him like everybody else is. So they're going to create that kind of relationship. And for a minute I was like, I think I'd be okay with that. Like if that's where we're going to go and you're all in, that could be cool. And because later we get them like, teaming up yeah i was like well if we would have gone all in on that i would have totally been like this is awesome.
I did love the scene as far as people being murdered goes i did love the scene where they team up. And yeah that could have been great like why but i had i had. This i had this fear when when after when he came back the the when he came back to visit michael i just had this this this It's just overwhelming dread of like, oh, great. They're going to give Michael Myers character development. We're going to learn more about how we don't need that.
He's supposed to be a mindless killing machine. And thankfully, that's, you know, we didn't get anything. There was a scene like right after one of the sewer scenes where then it cuts to Corey on the bike. And it's kind of like starts it close in on his face, but you see someone's behind him. And I was really hoping it was going to be Michael Myers.
Well, just knifed him on the bike. It was so funny. I had the same thought because when he's on the bike, for some reason in my mind, he looked like He looked like the kid from My Bodyguard. Actually, I've seen, again, I tried not to look at a lot of what people said on the internet. And then this morning I looked at a few and a bunch of people said something about My Bodyguard as like one of the references, whether on purpose or just the way everybody's reading it now.
Well, good. Now I don't feel like such a weirdo for thinking that. But yeah, I had the same thought. I'd be like, it'd be great if Michael's just nestling his head. On his shoulder.
Yeah. That'd be cute. Finally, someone cares. Cory gives him a little pat and is like, let's go turn someone inside out, baby. Somebody cares about me.
That's what I wanted. One thing about this, and you see this in a lot of movies where it's got, oh, the dork kid, and suddenly they're popular by taking their glasses off. As somebody who wears glasses, if you took them away from me, I would not be able to drive a motorcycle. successfully yeah definitely and it's not like he sorta needs him cause when they he's wearing them all the time well when they knock him off his head he pulls a velma and is like searching around on the ground my. Glasses well that whole scene felt very it and I guess in combination with the series but the bridge scene where they end up like throwing him over and they. Beat him up the one before at the gas station like they're totally like yeah and then like It's one more reason I kind of felt for this kid and was totally on his side through that first half of the movie.
But I'm like, it's bad, dude. I'm like, you're what, 25? And number one, you're being picked on by high schoolers. But it's not even like the football players. These are band geeks.
These are marching band geeks. These are band geeks that are kicking your ass, dude. Because kids in Marching Man are not that cool. And this is coming from someone who spent four years in Marching Man. I was going to say, you of all people get to make fun of them.
But I was like, still, that kid's not even a big dude. He's a dork. And his dad's rich. And the other dudes, the rest of them are just useless. The one just likes to start stuff, but she doesn't really get involved.
She just likes to start. Everything gets escalated because she's there. Well, and then the one girl just sort of half-assed, no, no, no. She's like stone stoned. Be nice to him.
Yeah. They were just a weird bunch of bullies. At least in It, you're like, oh, yeah, those are your typical old-timey bullies. Corey can't fight back. Because he's already got this reputation of being a child killer.
And then I was also like, that's kind of the worst scenario to be in because you're over 18. They're not. You kick their ass. You can go to jail. They can beat the hell out of you and they'll just be like, guys, cut that out.
I'm going to call your parents. But they can't legally do anything unless they murder you and they really want to try you as an adult. But for most purposes there, you're at a disadvantage when kids are messing with you. So I was like, If they were a little more intimidating, this would be a terrible situation because you really can't fight back, legally speaking. But they're just so dorky.
I was just like, man, this makes. You look terrible. Like, I know we already feel bad for you, but damn, they're laying it on thick when band geeks are kicking your ass. And then along comes Lori with her giant knife, which he doesn't give back, by the way. And then he kills a guy with, yeah, I mean, that was not a cheap little.
And I just don't... The entire relationship of him and Allison, I just did not get. I was like, none of this doesn't make sense. In the beginning, kind of. I get it in the beginning, yeah.
Because of. Because he's been through some shit. She's been through some shit. They both are, like, children that have been damaged by, you know, horrible situations. So, like, I can see that helping.
Plus, they're both kind of dorks. Like. I do like that grandma set him up. So if this was a different movie, like that would be adorable. Yeah, but it was just like less than a week.
Yeah. It was like all flirting and stuff. And then all of a sudden, like, I'm moving away with you. Let's go. When he is clearly going, like getting crazier and crazier.
Becoming more and more hinged. And at no point is she like, ah. She doesn't seem to notice that at all. I've had enough crazy in my life. It was to the point where I thought she was also somehow turning evil.
I was kind of hoping for that. Which would have been interesting at least. Because otherwise, why are you not noticing how dark this dude's energy is? Why are you so... To the point where you're going to be horrible to your grandmother and go on team him when you didn't even know him five days ago.
And on that point you just made a second of, that If she had started to go evil, it would actually make a little bit more sense than Corey going evil because she is Michael Myers' great niece. Insanity or mental illness, I'm sorry, does run in families. Yeah, I thought it was going to be her. I thought they threw that out. Is she what?
Is she technically related to him? I thought they got rid of her. Oh, yeah, I guess not. That got, yeah, that got. Send your angry letters to.
People start writing their e-mails. No this just goes to show how this whole confusing this whole series has become. A weird series as a whole it's a weird series and this is a weird movie but still i would have bought it because like she's as she said like when she's attacking her grandma and at times i'm like no i can see why you'd be pissed at her mostly i'm pissed at her because you brought him in and now as soon as i'm attached to him you're like no you got to get away from this guy and i'm like you started it like so number one i'm with her on that one but i mean she lists off like because of you and your bullshit and this guy i've lost both of my parents all of my friends like my entire life has been ruined and it's all you're doing and i'm like no she's got reason to get unhinged and go down the dark path so like if she did that again if by the end we killed what's his face here and cory and And then she picks up the mask and goes off to become the new Michael Myers.
I'm like, I can buy that. That's cool. Again, we don't get anything that different. No, instead she just comes back at the last moment and is like, I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of that. Then what was just.
10 minutes ago when I went off on you? And yeah, never mind all that. And I was right, by the way. Yeah. But I changed my mind.
She still has no proof that her grandma didn't murder her boyfriend. That's true. At no part does Lori say, well, he stabbed himself, which does sound very unbelievable. Well, it was funny that she immediately went up and grabbed the knife. I'm like, yes, fingerprints.
Good going, Lori. Good going. Leave it in there. At least before, if it was nothing but his prints on the knife, you could at least say, hey, I didn't do it. And they had no real proof.
But you just grabbed the knife, Lori. Looks like you stabbed him in the neck. Way to go. And Laurie's, and again, we're skipping way ahead. I told you.
Laurie's plan, I mean, it made sense because she was trying to fake out, you know, Corey. But Laurie's plan of, hey, I want to report a suicide. It was my own sin. If her plan was to lure Corey or Michael, it's still not really clear. On who she thought was in the house.
Yeah, I wouldn't. sure really. But if her plan is to lure one of them out, kill him, and then the cops show up, there's going to be all sorts of questions that she's not going to be able to ask. And the cops already know who she is and know that there's problems when she shows up. I mean, I guess as long as they're in your house. That's the rule, right?
Drag the bodies into the house. Be like, he broke in. Not my fault, man. I'm not sure what those laws actually vary from state to state. I don't know what they are in Illinois.
And frankly, I can't be bothered to look them up. Well, as we find out, the rules in this town are pretty fluid. They're pretty fluid. And their 911 service is a joke because. Everyone was dying.
Well, that. And her granddaughter, who knew nothing of this plot, got there... Even after the cop was like, hey, we got a 911 call to your grandma's house. She still got there quicker than the police did. It's true.
They only have like five. This is Mayberry. They're like, hold on, Marty's at the donut shop. Let me get a hold of him. Well, I'm just like, why is anyone still celebrating Halloween in this town?
You just can't anymore. And I'm sorry, that's the rules. You just can't. While we're on those kind of questions, we'll jump back to the very beginning. Because as we're introduced to Corey...
We. Catch up with the granddaughter. I'm so mad I'm having another recently. Actually, put those. Candy.
We need more candy to deal with this. I've managed to lose eight pounds. I don't want to keep it that way. So we're introduced to Corey. We see his nonsense he's gone through and the way the whole town's treating him.
The granddaughter's there dealing with everything she's... If I. Can bring a point up to Corey, only half the town hates him. The other half seems to be like, oh, the poor bastard. So.
Pick a lane. A few people. That's all I'm saying. Anyway. Most people seem to hate him.
I'm sorry, please. But, well, I mean, then, like... Just move. We know what... Well, that's my thing.
We know what the granddaughter's going through. We know everybody in town knows freaking Lori. And they all know she's crazy and everything. And they're blaming her for shit. I'm like. why do any of you still live in this town right all three of you pack up your shit and go like even if you don't want to move to the big city there's a lot of other little towns out there and they won't know you go to the beach yeah i was like if anything even if they hear a story second hand through the internet like they're not gonna blame you for their mom getting paralyzed like what was that they're not gonna have all this baggage that like every day walking around you have.
To I kind of like that. I did. Because it felt realistic. It gave it stakes. I think I just didn't get the reasonings as to why they were mad.
Well, again, it was misguided in its blame. I was like, did she do something in the first, like, not the 1970-ish one, but the 2018. First of these? Like, did she do something? Because from what I remember, he just kind of showed up.
Yeah, but they were next-door neighbors. He's in the murder spree area, and he just starts killing everybody in the vicinity of her. Oh, so that's why. Okay. I was like, what did Lori do?
Well, I think everybody's like, well, this guy is clearly after Lori. It's because of you. And then he just mows down people getting in his way. You would have killed him in 1978 like you were supposed to. None of this would be happening.
Mm-mm. Okay. That was my thing. I was like, what? So, I mean, it sort of nullifies everything after that.
I'm like, okay, the fact that you're all dealing with this bullshit in this small town is because you're there. Get out. I mean, Jamie Lee, you had a good reason. Your house burned down. Like, there's no reason for you to pick another house.
In this same downtown. Like, You now take that insurance money, I hope to hell you had a lot of insurance, in your bunker, and then, like, take that money, go move, buy a nice house in any other town in America, move to France, I don't give a shit, like, just get out of that town. But, you know, wasn't that the plot of H2O? Yeah. She changes her name and moves to a new town.
And it worked out just fine. She had a kid with messy hair. Oh, and he still finds her. Yeah. Ugh.
She can't catch a break. That's a different series and that universe doesn't exist. So, if we take into account the universe that no longer exists and the current universe, how many... illegitimate children has Laurie Strode had? Because we never meet any of the fathers. Yeah, that's true.
But in every timeline, she has some bastard child that has to deal with her stuff. And that makes sense in all of the original timeline, but not in this new one. Yeah. I don't know. It's too much to get into.
I can't think about. It too much. My brain hurts. When she got to the suicide scene, I was like, ugh. Is this really how they're going to do it?
Yeah, that's why. Because I was like, because they were doing the swerve of like, in the trailer, it's like, and I'm going to take you out. And if it has to kill me to do it, kind of a thing. And I'm like, so are they faking us out? And then she's going to kill herself.
And then the granddaughter will come in and have to actually kill Michael Myers. Like, is that where they're going with this? And on the one hand, I was like... do I really want Laurie to go out like that? No, but then I thought about it before. I was like, realistically, is that where it would probably go?
Yeah. I mean, after what she's been through, that might, I mean, knowing how people deal with stuff in the real world, that's probably what would have happened. But I don't want it to happen. I felt like going into this movie, I was like, okay, if Laurie dies in this movie, that's okay. Depending on how she dies.
Because she can die and still technically win this role. Yeah, if she dies for a reason. If she's like nobly sacrificing herself to save her granddaughter and take out Michael. Okay, we can be like, well, at least she did it for a reason. This all came full circle.
You know, whatever. But the only solution I can see to her killing herself is that Michael's like, well... I got nothing else to do, and then just stops being. I mean, that could have happened. As we said, why is he after this one weird woman?
Well, then I thought we established in Halloween Kills that he really just wanted to go be in his sister's room and stare out the window of the house. Yeah, he didn't even care about Lori. But then, like, the house isn't even a factor in this one. No. It goes back to. the more i thought about it was again like this almost works as a sequel to the first movie right yeah nothing that happened as i said when we watched it i was like this just feels like spinning our wheels for an entire movie yeah of like we don't know what to do in the middle section so how about we just have them walk around and kill some more people and nothing really changes from the end of the first movie to the beginning of the third movie and like that's kind of how it went.
I knew that we as an audience were in trouble during The opening title sequences because you see the pumpkin and another pumpkin bursts through it and then another one and then another one and they're all jack-o'-lanterns until you get to the last one and it's just a blank pumpkin. And I remember thinking, this is a metaphor for something, but I'm still not sure what. But I know this is a metaphor for something. We're going to be in a lot of trouble. But I also knew like early on, I was like, now I get the feeling that they're not going to kill Lori because they keep setting up this thing with the cop.
Mr. Retired Cop. Yeah. I'm like, that again is almost frustrating. Like, you two obviously have chemistry.
Neither of you have anything else going on. Right. Just go. Just go. Before you leave the grocery.
Hey, you want to come over for dinner? Like, let's just get this going. Like, what are either of you waiting for? It's been like four years now. Yeah, I was like.
Well, it's longer than that, really. Yeah, but at least in the first of this town, yeah. It's like, what are you waiting for? Just be like, Laurie, I'm going to swing by the liquor section. Yeah, you want me to swing by Family Planning.
I'm like, yeah, something, but let's make another illegitimate child. Well, we don't want that. But I've seen Weekly World News. It could happen. I just felt like it'd be classier for the cop to say family planning as opposed to condoms.
I just thought you meant lube. Well, that too. Get a grande size. No, let's not go there. But the reason, as soon as they set that up and we get to the cherry blossoms thing, I was like, we have to make good on that now.
Again, they're kind of hacky writers, but they're not that hacky. They set it up. I'm like, At least he's going to have to have some happy ending. And more than likely with Laurie. I was trying not to go there.
But I did say pick up Lou. But yeah, I was like, the cherry blossoms thing is such a setup that I'm like, you have to make good on it now. And like, you can't do that if she sadly commits suicide. Well, I thought when he said, let's go to Japan together, more or less. I just had this thought of, oh, great, yeah, she should get out of town.
She should move away from this town. Travel girl, yeah. And then I thought, wouldn't that be great if the next one is Michael Myers in Japan? He's just towering, head over. You know, all the.
Screw this Jason Takes Manhattan bullshit. Michael goes to Japan. It's totally gonna kick off a whole new series. Fights Godzilla. What I think would be cooler now that we've thrown that out there was like, okay, so what if we have like a side spinoff now and we just get one of those like old people rom-coms that's just the two of them in Japan and then like nobody gets killed and it's just sweet.
They don't even mention the past. Because like, we'd like to see Jamie Lee do other stuff. Like, why wouldn't, let's give her like one of those like Marigold Hotel old people rom-com movies. Yeah. And like her and the, just, Chief, go over there and see some cherry blossoms.
It'll be a lovely time. Eat some sushi. Yeah. It'll be a fun couple's massages it'll be. A fun movie let's see if we can get that off the ground and.
There's some sort of Through a series of wacky misunderstandings, he ends up in a sumo competition. Yeah. I'd watch this. I'm just saying. Is anybody writing this down?
I'm just saying. If only we were recording this. Why is this like our third Japan-centered movie spin-off that we've proposed on this show? We obviously want to see the cherry blossoms. That's what I'm saying.
I did feel like Laurie's character also, from the last movie to this one, it was like. 180 degrees better like she's had she just turned four years i guess but she. Had however many from 1978 until 2018 and that just turned her into like a prep basket case. 78 to 19 she went full sarah connor but. She's out in the desert but it's not even like she thinks he's dead And then he comes back and she knows he's out there somewhere, but somehow she's like, well, I'm writing a book.
I'm baking pumpkin pies. She's writing a book. I know, I was like, of course you're writing a memoir. I was like, really? If you weren't such an old lady, you'd know you should be doing a True Crime Podcast.
We've already introduced her a thing in this universe. True. That was the whole first movie. My thing about the book thing, though, was, well, okay, True Crime Podcast, but... I am certain that publishers would have been knocking down, we need to know your story.
It's a truckload of money. At least. But at the same time, I was just like, in the real world, once again, I was like, think about if the person involved, knee deep in the middle of an actual crime that the entire country knew about, did their own true crime. People lose their mind for the boring NPR versions. What if she actually did it herself?
That would take off. So once again, this is a better side universe that we're creating. She's just making millions on podcast advertising. Why aren't they calling us for ideas? They really need to.
I mean, granted, in their defense, they would have to write the movie first, make it, and then we'd have to be like. No, change this. This is wrong and this is wrong. That's our job. We're punch up.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah, but Way post-production. Yeah, I don't want to have to read your dumb script. So just go ahead and make most of the movie, and then I'll tell you how to reshoot it all. Because you did it wrong.
If I wanted to read scripts, this would be a book podcast. Yeah, really. I don't know how to read. Let's get real. So, of other things we need to hit along the way, Nora, your housewife girl, came back.
She didn't really have much to do. No, she did nothing. She's still pouring drinks, but other than that, she cashed a paycheck. Yeah, she was there. I was like, oh, that's it.
Alright, she's done. She's gonna come back at the end. No. Alright, well, whatever. She was working that day at the other job.
She didn't have time for the wrap-up scenes. Other weird tie-ins and special guests? I thought, once again, they don't come to me for their ideas, but Wouldn't it have been funny when we get there and we're under the overpass and there's a crazy old homeless guy with a giant beard rambling to himself, throwing cans in a grocery cart. If that person was played by Rob Zombie. Because he's a weird old guy with a long beard.
Like he would look like a homeless man if he didn't have lots and lots of money. So wouldn't that have been a nice little nod to the other series that people don't like? Why not? I think it would have been a nice little peace offering between the two series that piss off the fans the most. I want to know where was Ben Tramer?
Which, for those who don't remember, he's a character that Laurie mentioned in the first one and she's got a big schoolgirl crush on it in this whole series. I'm waiting for him to just show up and sweep her off her feet. Are we talking first, first one? 78. Original 78.
Okay. And he does die in the original part two, but now we're pretending that that doesn't exist anymore. So where's, where's Ben Dreamer? I just want to see them together. Who was the cop at the end with the cowboy hat?
He was in the same one. Yeah, he was in that last one because I did remember him a little bit. Yeah, I was like, he's familiar, but I don't know why you're here. He kept trying to keep order when everybody was going nuts and they're like, we're going to kill this crazy guy who we're pretty sure is Michael Myers. Oh, right.
But then he shows up at the end for the dead body parade. We're like, yeah, let's go. So, yeah, I don't know. Now I'm just... Trying to hit the other weird things along the way.
Well, I did appreciate in the scene where Michael finally attacks Laurie, she is pulling out... Well, number one, she takes a beating that in reality a person would not survive. But we'll look past that. But she's pulling out no stops. I mean, she's got both of his hands...
By the time she's crucifying. Yeah, she's got both of his hands nailed to the counter and then... Just to be on the safe side, she pushes the refrigerator on top of him. And I thought, okay, you've done this well. In a different movie, that scene would be super satisfying.
In this one, where none of that led up to that, I was just like... Well, this seems out of place. But again, it's the most traditional ending to the other thing that you started years ago. So I guess I do like when she's just hammering that second knife. Like when he pulls out and she's like, nope, clang, clang.
I was like, damn. So again, there's a little bit of satisfying in that element of it. Well, just for me, it was satisfying in the, okay, the final girl's using Some common sense. Yeah, finally. In a movie.
Normally they just scream and run around. Or do the thing that you know isn't going to help her. Like, aha, I got him pinned down. And he's immediately going to pull right out, which he did. And she's like, okay, let's go a couple of steps on top of that.
So that part is, again, satisfying in a different movie. I was hoping she would just chop his head off. Yeah, that's what I've been saying in all these movies. Like, you need to go full vampire. They did do what I've thought in these movies where you have the unstoppable killer.
It's like, they didn't cut his head off, but cut his head off, move it away from the body, and then just destroy what's left. Which I'll give him credit for doing that. Even though I feel, given everything we've seen in a Halloween movie... He should have resurrected the moment they untied the ropes. Right.
Kind of. Yeah. I mean, even based on our last movie, when the entire town lined up to beat his ass. I know. He's just like, and whatever.
So the fact that this old lady takes him out now, I'm like, how stupid do the rest of you need to feel? He showed up with guns and tire irons and all kinds of shit. He just beat your ass. Yeah, I didn't really get why he... Died?
Yeah, why this time he just died. I mean, I was glad for it, I guess. I was like, okay, but that doesn't seem like something that hasn't happened to him before. She did drain all the blood out. Of his body.
I guess. Is that the way you kill him? Because he's been shot before? Is Laurie Strode a vampire? I don't know.
Again, back to Weekly Royal News for me. That's the headline next week. That also, the whole contrast between Michael in the last movie and this one, it was like... You know, last one, they're like, he's the personification of evil. He cannot be killed.
And this time the kid goes to the sewer and just has a fist fight with him. Oh, he's gonna address that. And takes his mask and just knocks him over on the ground. It's like, oh. That first movie, when he goes into the killing the neighbors, I know he is just a machine that is just murdering everything in the vicinity.
And then I'm granted it's been four years of living in the sewer, but still like the dorky kid who was beaten up by band geeks goes in and beats his ass, which then I was like, okay, if we were again in a different movie, that would make sense. Cause I'm also sitting there going, he's an old man. He's 65 and he spent most of his life not moving in an insane asylum. Like he did. That's why it made no sense when he came out and just started murdering everyone.
I was like, He should barely be able to walk at this point. He hasn't even had functional movement for most of his adult life. What's interesting was I was reading today different factoids about Michael Myers specifically, and a very common consensus is he has catatonic schizophrenia, which means he physically cannot move very well, which is why he's always walking instead of running. So, yeah, when he got into a fight with that kid, unless some sort of survivor's instinct kicked in. Yeah.
Which apparently it did, but that's never been an issue before when someone's tried to fight him because he's just like, whatever. Yeah. Dead. So, in a way, I kind of liked that scene. I was like, well, I mean, he is an old man.
And, like, this kid is kind of looting his shit and is determined to take that mask with him. So, by the end, I was like, I should call bullshit, but I kind of don't. Like, I kind of liked it. I sort of wondered if there was some sort of thing where, you know, oh, he puts the mask on and he feels whole, so then he can go out and murder. Yeah.
You take it off and he feels useless i think we threw that out before right like the i think in that first one we're like is the mask itself supernatural and like that well even even. If it's not supernatural it could still just be a mental thing yeah but then the other thought i had and i was like oh this will be so stupid it's like if he goes a long time without killing people he just loses all of his energy and then the more he kills the stronger. Yeah that was the only thing i could think. Of power up super michael myers you gotta eat some mushrooms which might have been what he was living on in. The sewer i was gonna say what was he eating rats well in the original in.
The original he did survive on two dogs so. That's the part i don't agree with in that first movie i know but i don't like that part you can kill all well i also you know It is fun that they brought in PJ. We got a couple of shots of her from the old days. But yeah, I don't like him killing PJ. I don't like him killing the dog.
The rest of these idiots, I don't really care about. Yeah. I wish they had just stuck with supernatural or not. Yeah. Because then with the Corey guy, it's like, is he mind controlling you?
When he goes and visits Mr. Spock and they. Do the mind meld. How does he make him a murderer? Yeah.
Well, and again, if. He's just a weak old man, they would have led up to any of this. That's why I think it's weird that in the third movie we bring in this entirely new character, which don't get me wrong. Like I said, I like him. As a character, again, that opening scene and his story is really compelling.
So I'm like, this is a cool addition. I really was kind of enjoying what they did that first 20, 30 minutes with him. But then it has to escalate so quick to get to their end that they also came up with. And I'm like, again, if we were to put him in even the last movie, or definitely the first movie, and we watched all this happen, and we either see him start to turn into the killer and take over as Michael Myers... Or we see him start to see how bad Michael is and, like, you know, forget about his problems he dealt with and, you know, try to help the granddaughter, try to help Lori.
And, like, he ends up being the one that helps kill him. Like, then it would lead somewhere. But instead we've got to hurry up and get from he's a victim, oh, now he's insane, oh, now he's the new Michael Myers. And, like, we've got to cram that all in in two hours and be done with it. And then we kill him anyway.
So what have we accomplished? Yeah. So yeah, that's what was most frustrating with him is like, it takes such an awkward turn in the middle and that we really didn't even have time enough to build up through, like you said, even with the relationship with them. Yeah. It makes no sense.
If you would have spent more time, if it would have been two movies, if like the boyfriend gets killed on the first movie, the second movie she meets him, they go through this two movie arc of like him being there for her and being really useful. And then by this movie, we start seeing him turn and like, Him start to be evil and she has to kill him at the end. That would be a believable arc, maybe. But, yeah, in this span of a couple of days, all of this happening seems kind of crazy. Yeah.
Four days. The movie takes place over four days. And how bad do we feel for the stepdad? Number one, he has to live with mom. yeah mom she's horrible she's the real evil in this movie i was just like are we going carrie here like is this that was very carrie-esque i'm like. Even the point where she smacks him yeah And she's like, oh, I'm sorry.
Look what you made me do. That evil girl poisoned in your mind. Like, I was just like, oh, Lord. Like, this is crazy. Anything you should be encouraging him to go out.
Yeah. Get around real life. Get away from you. But yeah, I mean, he was. the stepdad which I didn't know again Wikipedia says it's a stepdad I was like maybe he's just the boyfriend boyfriend uncle stepdad by then I realized they were a couple but still I don't know if they were married but yeah the fact that like he's kind of helping him even in the beginning he gives him the motorcycle like he's trying to help him like lead a normal life but by the end he's still like trying to help the dorky annoying band kids and gets killed by accident. I love that actor and that character all the way through the movie And then especially at the point where he just looks at him and goes, I hope you find somebody who can love you.
Yeah. And he says it in such a sincere way. And when he said that, I was like, this guy's going to die by the end of the movie. But like, he was just at every turn helping him, even to the point of like, don't tell your mom about the motorcycle. You know, that's like his entire life is like, what can I tell you to keep you from getting in more shit with this crazy woman that we both live with?
Like. They seem like they formed a nice little bond, which of course means he has to die. So I did like that. Yeah. I'm just glad Corey didn't kill him.
Yeah. I was like, at least I was afraid it was getting to that turn. And I'm like, if he kills him, like that's going to suck. So of course we have to have the accidental death by somebody else, but it's better than him doing it. I suppose.
But that whole junkyard scene was wild. There's a lot going on. Yeah. But again, so out of place. Yeah.
Because, and because, uh, Corey just bounces back and forth from one scene to the next. So like when he's back talking to the granddaughter, he's pretty normal and rational. And then the next scene, he's just murdering four people. You know, I'm just like, wait, like you're not that good at it. Like how can you switch back and forth?
It'd be different if once again, we were building up to this and he's got some sort of switching schizophrenia mode that kicks in, but like, that's not you, man. So like, how is this the same guy from one scene to the next? And, I don't know. That part seemed weird too. And it had that fun trope of a car coming straight at you so you just keep running in a perfectly straight line.
That's not a strategy. Never go in any other direction whatsoever. If Prometheus has taught me anything, don't run sideways. Make it as easy as possible for them to just... I was like, girl.
So that seemed kind of one of the questions I wanted to get to. What about the violence in this? Now, granted, all of these in this trilogy have been very violent. This one has a lot less violence and gore than I felt like the last two. But when it happens, it's pretty hardcore.
Especially our finale. I was like, they did a good job on the grinder. So that is the ultimate, you know, goriness. Well, they at least showed, I'm glad that they showed us his body going through the grinder because as I've said for years, you can't, You can't trust an off-screen death. Oh, yeah.
Most definitely. And I think, again, as much as I kind of call bullshit on the whole wrap-up, at the same time, I'm like, Laurie kind of needs to see that. Yeah. And we as the audience, if we've really been along for this whole journey, kind of need to see that. So, like, I don't know if the whole rest of the town had to be there, but Laurie needs to see him die for this to really kind of come to an end.
But it looked like Lori was going to jump in there, too. Kind of. I thought he was going to, like, wake up and grab her. At the last second. Oh, I figured that was going to happen.
What I thought was the most irresponsible was, like, granddaughter just throws on the machine. I'm like, your grandma's right there. I know. I was like, you want to make sure she's clear first? She's just like, crank.
I was like, oh, okay, you might have just killed Lori, but whatever. Also, I wonder what are the, like, legal implications of the police being there and just being like go for it instead of like doing a coroner or any coroner like regular procedure that you just decided to bypass. Well there's a whole town of witnesses yeah. Just don't say that yeah maybe they're all just gonna not tell anybody if. We're on that scene how did the whole town know Well.
They showed one guy on his cell phone. One guy on his cell phone got a hold of the whole damn town. Because I was like, well, you know, if they got on the radio, oh no, we murdered the only guy with a radio station in this town. So you think if they would have had him still, he could have been on the voiceover going, hey, anybody who wants to go burn Michael Myers, come on down. We're going to have an old time roasting of a serial killer.
What I liked in the beginning of this movie was there was Well, apart from the boy falling face first to his death. That's a harsh scene. Yeah, but there was a lot less gore and there was a lot more tension and atmosphere than there had been in the two previous movies. But then by the third act, it's just blood and guts everywhere. Yeah, that poor DJ's death.
Oh, I forgot about that. Bad for him. Again, that's the part when you're like, oh yeah, these are comedians that are making this one. Yeah. As the tongue bounces over the record, over and over and over.
What was great about, yeah, the tongue on the record player was, I remember sitting there thinking, man, this would suck to whoever's listening. To this station right now. And then it jumps to her. And it cuts to the granddaughter and she's like, what's wrong with the radio? What is this bullshit?
Although that's an awesome song and I think I've worked it into this episode before. I think one of the Halloweens previously I had that song in there. Nice. He did at least pick some good stuff, even though he was kind of a jerk. He was kind of a jerk.
But he's the only one who told the truth. I mean, he was right. I'm not saying he wasn't right, but he's still kind of a jerk about it. That's also like the people being like, well, Thanos was right. That's usually right.
But he's still a jerk. But again, down that road, did we see him light the station on fire? Nope. She just looks over and there's fire. And I was like, well, I mean, he was just there laying waste to everything.
Which, so it seems like by the end he could have lit it on fire, but like, did we miss a scene? I was just making sure it wasn't just me. Which what upsets me about that is, and I think I said this during the first one of these. And at least the first one, maybe the second one, I don't even remember now. They keep focusing on those towers over and over and over, but there's no payoff in any of those first two movies.
And in the third one, Corey starts talking about it. I'm like, yes, we're finally going to find out what the tower's about. And then they burned the damn thing down. I thought eventually Michael Myers was going to climb up it and little planes were going to fly. That's how they made it.
That's how Corey made it sound. I thought that was going to be the big showdown. Corey snaps out of it and he climbs up the tower and Michael chases after him and he's like, well, and then grabs him and falls off. Or Laurie would have done that. Or whatever.
Anybody at this point. Which would have been much more fascinating than like, oh, we're just going to burn that tower. Burn the tower down throw them in a grinder it's all good i don't know i was just that whole weird tacked on ending that didn't match everything else i was just like all right again like it matched the other two movies kind of yeah but it didn't match anything we've done in the first 75. Of this movie yeah it's just like okay like. I guess again was it contractual you had to like pay off that other thing you set up two movies ago Because you really went an entirely different way the whole rest of this.
And then here we are. It's like not only do the movies in this trilogy feel like they were not made by the same people, but this movie, it feels like one person wrote. You write this scene. I'm going to write this scene. You write the end.
Well, I'm certainly wondering too if somebody wrote, somebody started to write a screenplay about troubled teenagers or whatever. Mm-hmm. And then somebody else was like, I need to write this new Halloween movie. You got any ideas? We'll just put it together.
We'll put some blood in here. It'll be cool. I mean, I heard different things. Again, like I said, I avoided everything until this morning and then I was looking at stuff because I avoided it yesterday before I saw it. Then I'd already pretty much made my mind up.
So this morning I was like, okay, what were they saying? And this was somebody on my feed. But I do like that they started off with man, what the fuck was that shit? But then continued on and was like, after the confusing mess in 2018 and the ridiculous train wreck of kills, how the hell did Halloween Ends turn out to be this damned great? I couldn't take my eyes off of it and that's a rare thing these days.
Fucking fantastic, zero notes. Really? So like it turns and I'm like, on the original end of it, I'm with you. But also, the turn at the end totally took it all back for me. And I'm like, but now what?
Like, that just became so conventional that I'm like, well, now it's back to the dumb thing you did last time. So, I don't know. I enjoyed it. That was James, by the way. So, thank you.
Yes, James. Thank you very much. I don't know you in the real world, but I've known you in the internet world for many, many years. My only thing was, for the most part, I did enjoy this movie. I have tons of notes on it.
Oh, yeah. I had issues with it and liked it at the same time. But when I got to the end of it, I was like, did I really enjoy this movie? Or did I just enjoy this movie better than the last two? And I'm still not sure.
I mean, I just enjoyed how weird it was taking things. And how unconventional compared to what it did. Especially the first movie. Like I said, that first movie is... a like almost cookie cutter version of a slasher movie it's just turned up the you know violence and threw in a bunch of jokes for Halloween fans but like for the most part it still operates like an old time slasher with just a big budget and well it's very flashy about it but it still works like a regular old slasher movie yeah And then two is insane, but goes nowhere. And this at least was like, okay, now it's back to the insane part, but it's still functioning like a horror movie.
And it's doing all these weird things along the way that I'm like, if you would have picked a couple of modes in that, you know, two thirds of the beginning there, I'm like, any of those would have been great to stay on that train and finish out the story. But they kept bouncing back and forth. And then by the end went right back to the old time version of wrapping things up the way we assumed that they would. So that was my issue was like pick any of those other weird avenues and go with it. And it would have been way more interesting.
If you were to ask me if I thought this was a good movie, I would have two answers. Yeah. Which one would be like, yes, because I think it tied up this new trilogy in an effective sort of way. And it kept my attention. And I had fun with some of the kills and the suspense was good.
But on the other hand, is this a good movie? No, because it's still kind of a mess. Yeah. It's not as big a mess as the last one. No, but it's not as polished as the first one, really.
So of the three, I think the first one's the most functional. I think you can watch the first one on its own by itself and just be like, all right, it's a horror movie. I feel like the people who've watched this new trilogy are going to, you're going to be divided into two camps. You're going to have the people kind of like us who were just like. Last two movies, I don't know.
And then this one. And then you're going to have people who liked those first two movies because of all the gore, because of all the kills. And they're going to hate this one because of the lack of all that. But again, there was another person on there that was like, this was a great trilogy and I guarantee it will be reassessed favorably down the road. And I'm like, Maybe.
Maybe you're right. I don't know. I can't tell on these things sometimes because there are things that, again, looking at going back like we did earlier with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that second one didn't make tons of money at the box office, but eventually down the line, people were like, this is a classic. So, Maybe 20, 30 years down the line, people will be like, man, I really love those David Gordon Green Halloween movies. People were up in arms about Season of the Witch when it came out.
Oh, yeah. As a good example. Now there's a lot of people who think it's one of the better movies in the installment. Once they got past the fact that it has nothing to do with anything else. And in a way, I agree.
I remember not even knowing what the hell to do with it as a kid when I shouldn't have been watching it. And I don't really remember much about it. And it was only when we went back and watched it years ago on the show that I was just like, this movie's insane. It's creepy as fuck. But in like the weirdest way.
And again, it's what this started to do. And that's why I thought they really are doing their own Halloween 3 in this trilogy. And if they would have gone with that, I would have been like, okay, I'm on board because this is weird and fucked up and good for you for doing it. But because it took that turn and went back and got super boring again, I was just like, you missed it. That's where the third movie in the old trilogy nailed it.
It is completely detached and it never caved in and became something else by the end. It's weird all the way through. It finishes its story and finishes with a way that you are not prepared for if you're expecting a normal horror movie. It does a thing that if you haven't seen it, I will not ruin, but I'm like... By the end you're like, holy shit, did they just?
And they do. And so like it ends in an insane way. The rest of the movie was insane. And I'm like, that's how you stick the landing on your weird ass movie. And this one got halfway in and then went, I guess the studio wants us to do this.
Maybe that's not even the case. Maybe they planned this from the beginning, but that's the way it feels watching it is that it got really cool and creative at different points and then had to wrap it up in the super conventional way, which is let's murder him and everybody watch and they can applaud and have a party afterwards or whatever the hell they need. Yeah, what do they do? Go back to the bar and hang out with their housewife girl as she pours them some more drinks. Yeah.
Another little Smirnoff ad. That's what I do. That seemed very well featured, by the way. Yeah. It's like, who paid for this movie?
Oh, yeah. Yeah, I guess they'd just be like, well, I gotta go to work tomorrow. I mean, I guess if you've got a whole town of people that are like, shh, just don't say anything. Yeah. Like, Because they're all parading down there.
It really was a huge group of people. I'm like, it's a lot of people. Just be like, we don't talk about that. So are we getting some sequel down the line where we don't talk about those times in some weird future sequel offshoot reboot? Yeah, that was another weird thing.
When.... I guess just generally it was weird at the beginning when Laurie kind of gave us a recap of the first two movies that we'd already watched. I guess in case somebody didn't bother to watch the other, you just want to come in for Halloween ends? I know. And then she, like, and they, you know, they showed us, like, oh, she's writing her book.
But I'm like, still, we didn't really need that. But then she kind of talks about how, like, the evil has infiltrated the town. And it's like, wait, are the townspeople, like, bad? Yeah. Is it like a dairy thing?
Again, that would have been a more interesting movie. Where there's some evil force within the town that's making the people be bad to each other. You do get the montage of the couple that were shot in the head. The lady who, I don't know if she hung herself or someone hung her or whatever. And they were just like, nope, it's not Michael Zema.
I know. So I was like, wait, so are more people just. And like you said earlier, i didn't know what that was just cancel halloween yes move out of that town cancel halloween like it's. My favorite but if everybody kept getting murdered i'd be like maybe we just celebrate. In our houses not a good idea let's let's just take a few years off a good decade or so gap here and we'll try it again later see if anybody dies yeah But no, wouldn't that be an interest if we're going to continue that?
What if, because they can't really pick a lane with all their crazy theories they're putting in their own movie, what if he really was the embodiment of evil? Right. And you just destroyed him. So did the evil then get released? And then all these people crowded around the Mangler are now infected with the evil that made Michael Myers.
So what if this entire town just becomes... evil now i'm like that would kind of be an awesome way to spin off and do a whole new thing if. It was the first one or the second one but they do laurie is like i realize he's not that he's after me he's trying to infect this entire town. I feel like that was that second one because the first one they kept like the whole build-up is like he's after me like you know and then by the second one i thought they realized he's like he just wants to go home like he doesn't even know who you are lady calm down get over. Yourself After that wholesale slaughter that is the second one, because he kills an entire fire department. Yeah.
An entire neighborhood. That's the beginning, yeah. Who even is left? Like, what's the economy of this town? Because there's got to be nobody left.
Pretty much. And then the ones who are left don't have the common sense to move. Well, and they were all witness to a murder and kind of willing participants. Yeah. I guess technically she'd already killed them first, but.
Technically. We all know he would have come back anyway. Really, that four years between the last movie and this one would have been filled with lawsuits. The whole town would have been shut down. Yeah, family members trying to be like, well, it's the cop's fault, or he fired a bullet at Michael, but it actually killed this guy, and this guy talked to my husband, and then Laurie probably has something to do with all this.
We're all going to blame her. I mean.... I really feel like the citizens of Haddonfield, when they walk down the street, whoever they are, whether they're a lawyer or not, don't make any eye contact, don't say anything. I tripped on the sidewalk, I'm suing! It was Michael Myers' fault.
His evil spirit pushed me. Evil of Michael Myers. Evil dies tonight. We didn't even have a chant. Did anyone see the graffiti on the wall that said, Love Lives Today?
Yeah. At first, I was like, okay, this is Haddonfield trying to rebuild. But again, they don't touch on any of how we're trying to put all this behind us. We're just like, we know it's. Going to happen again.
What a hopeful and uplifting tagger. Yeah. That was not normally the message you get on the wall. So that was pretty nice of them. It's like one of those live, laugh, love signs.
Yeah. Like graffiti. That's nice. That's the worst. Love lives today.
Wow. I think I dislike that even more than evil does tonight. I lived in that town and saw that. And regardless of whether I, especially if I knew of the background behind it, I'd be like, you need to get out of my town. Yeah.
Have we figured any of this out? I think I've hit most of my weird points, but I don't know that we've made sense of any of this. I just saw it this morning. It's all still scrambled up in my brain. I think I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it as much as the second one.
I expected way worse and I liked a lot of what was there along the way. I just wish we would have picked something and gone with it. It At least did better than last time. Last time we didn't know what to do with it. We had no direction and we didn't do anything.
This one they at least went somewhere but they went about five different places and they didn't match each other and then in the end they went entirely different direction anyway. So I think that's my frustration is there's so many good things in the middle and we just didn't really pay off on any of them. My takeaway is your kids are probably safer if you don't hire a sitter. Probably. Just take them to the party with you.
That's what this whole series has been about. It's anti-babysitting. He doesn't kill kids, just babysitters. Then I was like, that's kind of true. He's had chances to kill a lot of kids.
Yeah, that's true. The little kids that survived the first movie, that baby in the second. I'm like, yeah, he could have killed a lot of kids, but he really doesn't like that. Just grown-ups. Where did I get that?
Grown-ups are annoying. Teenagers in particular. But by that second, new one in this trilogy, like, he's just taking out grown-ups right and left. They don't have to be babysitters. It doesn't even, like, again, that became the lore even within this own trilogy, which doesn't match the reality because he murdered all these regular-ass people.
Right. They're still telling this babysitter story because it looks better in the wrap up in the newspaper i guess but i'm like what about all these other people that he killed for no real reason what about the street fight he had in the middle of the second movie like none of that's babysitters so where does this story come. From the firefighters could have been babysitters we don't know. Once again if he can take out a whole troop of firefighters but yet This old lady takes him out with a knife. What's going on here?
This is all out of whack. Yeah. So there you go. Happy Halloween. No, seriously, they have to be bankrupt for all the what they had to pay out to the family.
That's why the radio station is on fire. Nobody cares. We'd put it out, but all those guys are dead. No, last time there was a fire in Haddonfield, we lost our entire crew. Was it like a five alarm blaze?
No, some guy just walked out and started killing everybody. We tried to recruit some new volunteers, but they were just like, not after the last time. So we just can't keep anybody anymore. We just hand out extinguishers to everybody when they move in. You're on your own.
Not even extinguishers, just like a damp cloth. All right. I guess we've gotten as much out of this movie and trilogy as we're going to. I'm trying to think if there's anything that we left out. We've tackled a little.
Granddaughter got ripped off on her job. Oh, yeah. What was up with that? Well. Good thing she moved away because that was a bullshit job.
Oh, yeah. We all knew she was sleeping with the doctor. Come on, man. Which, that was a weird moment. If you're to the point in a relationship where you're sleeping with someone, even if it's relatively casual, do you still not call them by their first name?
Like, when she's saying it in the other room, like, isn't his name, like, Richard or Roger or some bullshit? Like, why wouldn't you, like. I mean, that could be a turn-on for him, and he seems like the sort of guy that. Yeah, but, like. In the bedroom.
Not when I think you might have just got murdered. When you'd be like, hey, you okay out there? Maybe later when you're playing the game. But that just seemed like an odd time to be very proper. She did seem kind of dumb.
She might think that's his first name. She might. I don't know. Just thought that was a weird... Again, real world moment.
When do you still, at that point in your career and life, refer to somebody by their professional title? As you're getting in the shower to have. Sex with them. If you're stabbed in the stomach, can you no longer scream? I guess it depends.
Because he did his whole, you know, pinning to the wall trick, which is still effective after, you know, 44 years. Yeah, that was a little throwback, yeah. But, um. Yeah, my reaction to that would not be hers, which was like, well, I guess this happened. But it would just be nonstop screaming until my life force.
I have to work tomorrow. Get me off of this wall. I just got this promotion, damn it. I can't not show up. Cool house, though.
Yeah, great house. I mean, he's rich. He's a doctor. All right. Well, we don't need to roll the die.
As previously mentioned, we are going through the holidays here. So next up, I don't know that we're better off. Next up was, I think we decided Blood Rage, which I went through today because I knew we were here. We had to figure out how and why and why is still going to be addressed next month, but how we're watching it. So in looking it up, 1987's Blood Rage is on Tubi. ooh canopy midnight pulp which i didn't have but i downloaded today uh all for free i'm assuming with tons of ads uh it's also on prime video to rent it's also on voodoo to rent and on apple tv you can buy it if you're one of those weird apple people and obviously apple people have tons of money because they just make you buy it there's not even a rental option so if you're one of those apple peoples you can also buy it and then it's good luck to you because you own it forever So, I also, fair warning, looking at the rundown, it gives it one star.
Excellent. one skull for you. Good luck. But there's also, it has a lot of. And is this a Thanksgiving thing? It has a specific tie-in according to...
Now, we may get here and be like, there's barely any Thanksgiving. But it, at least in the write-up, says it happens somewhat on Thanksgiving. So, whatever. Just enough of an excuse for us to do it. Oh, what a relief.
Okay, because I started to read a description of what I thought was for this movie. I wouldn't spoil it for yourself. Well, no, I got down to the last line in the review, and I'm like, now this makes sense. Because apparently there is a board game called Blood Range. But here's what I was reading.
It's the Vikings' last chance to go down in a blaze of glory. And secure their place in Valhalla at Odin's side. I was like, this sounds like a weird Thanksgiving movie. Huh. So wait, the Vikings created Thanksgiving?
I don't think so. I can't. Well, I mean, if I see it in a clay animation special, I will totally buy it. So I'll get to work on that. Rankin and Bass, get on that.
So, yeah. This guy looks like, in the pictures, he looks like he's having a good time killing ass. He does. That's what I'm saying. So, maybe we'll have a good time.
We'll find out. There is an extra weird editing thing, so fair warning for anybody else that's joining in and for everyone here. there is an edited version and a non-edited version. They said there's the same running time because they took a scene that was taken out and put it back in so that it comes out to the same running time, but they took out all the nudity and gore, but put in this extra weird scene that obviously wasn't that needed because the original person took. It out, so. Fair warning, none of them seem to match up because I went looking and like Roku listed as an hour and 24 minutes for all those versions I listed earlier.
You get to YouTube, there's an hour and 22 minute version that is edited. There's a free version on YouTube that's an hour and 18 minutes. And none of them match up. When you get to the Wikipedia description, it's longer than all of those. So I don't know what version we're going to see.
So if we want to pick one specific one and all watch it on Tubi or something, at least we will all watch the same version. I will do that, but part of me wants us to all watch a different version. We've done that several times now. We're like, what about that one scene? You're like, what are you talking about?
There's no werewolf in this movie. There's a werewolf chasing the woman in office clothes. Blood close to Dracula's castle. That was a fun movie. That was a fun movie.
At least I remember it being fun now at the time. I think you complain a lot then. It was fun to talk about. I enjoyed that a lot. So maybe that's what we'll have with this.
That's one of those movies I feel like if I watched with a group of people who could all have fun with it, I would enjoy the hell of it. That's what this is. We get together after the fact and we all enjoy the ridiculousness of all of these movies. I do remember liking Count and Mrs. Dracula a lot.
They were both pretty damn cool. Yep. Alright. Anything else to pass along for these wonderful Halloween times? Happy Halloween.
Happy Halloween, everybody. All right. Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next time. Same geek feed.
And until then, keep it spooky. One night when the moon was tall The midnight monsters had a ball At the county moor till the break of day You could hear those monsters say. Hey goo, you're a coo And. The midnight monsters hopped. He was a frontin' the band On the yackin' sax, the invisible man A zombie on the voodoo drum And the guitar man was a real weird one They.
Scowled and they howled. Dragula was standing at the bar Sipping blood from an old jar The werewolf was a acting clown Gnawing on a leg of sand Face could taste good It should, it should At the midnight bar. Two-some, two-some, and fond embrace. Slippin' and slidin' all over the place. It was Vampyra and Frankenstein.
And those cats was havin' a time. Who he? Oh, he's good, he's good, he's good. That's the Midnight Monster song. At the break of day The monsters all are on their way Back to their coffin in the old grey garden A headless horseman was a riding heart They're gone.
They're gone, come. Dawn, come dawn At the midnight monster's clock They're gone, they're gone, come dawn, come dawn At the midnight monster's. Clock I did eat all of their cheese. There you go. When I say all of their cheese, it was like four slices.
It's their fault for leaving it there, really. They said I could have anything in the house. Much like the babysitter. Eat whatever you want that's in the fridge. Yeah.
He's like, fuck yeah, chocolate milk. So that's why I knew I liked that guy right from the beginning. I was like, beer, chocolate milk, hell yeah. I never drink. Why?
