Hello everyone, and welcome to scaryte I am one of your hosts, Chris, and I'm the other one. I'm the other ones. There's two of us. There's two of us. If you don't know we're talking, go check out our surreal Tube episodes, because you're doing yourself at a service by not knowing what I'm quoting.

We're not talking about surreal Tube though, we're talking about the other thing. The other time, about one of the other things we talk about, which is people posting, say, funny people posting funny stories on the internet. The case, people posting paranormal stories on the Internet for the reading pleasure of people like me, people like you, people like the one point one million other users on our slash paranormal, which is where all of our stories are coming from today, on this little episode of Scary Stories we tell called our slash Paranormal. Emma, you're the one who brought this to the show. That is true, correct, exactly.

And I think it's been fun. I've enjoyed it because you know, again, not every story, not every one of these stories I think is not newsworthy, but it's not as worthy as like becoming mainstream. But I mean you know, our slash Paranormal has its fair share of weird stories to talk about that lead us down interesting paths, so that is very true. There is a whole plethora of different types of experiences. They're shared on our slash Paranormal.

I think it's really cool that people come together to share these experiences because it's nice having like a place to do so, like a non relatively non judgmental place I do so, you know, and it helps people try to get a better idea of what may or may not lie beyond. And I think that's why I was originally drawn to it. But there there are definitely some out there that sound a little bit sillier on the surface. I think there was one that I did. I think my favorite that I did back on my old podcast was one specifically, and like thinking bad, I still remember how funny it was.

Sorry first it This story was basically about how a family, a young girl when she was like little, was like all home alone with her siblings and they so their mom's work shirt looped down the hallway, and that's a shared experience. It's you know, I am, I feel like and I think you would agree. It's harder to discount shared experiences, right, like one person seeing something, okay, four people seeing something, You've got something, twenty five people? What are we? Like?

What are we doing? So I don't think less it's unless if the poster is not being genuine. I always read these with the lens of if they're posting it, they're posting it to be genuine. I really always hope that people I mean, obviously it's the Internet and people are going to do what they want. But I'm hoping that if people are posting their parents their true paranormal experiences, that they are in fact true paranormal experiences.

But let me tell you if that shirt one is real horrifying, well, I think to your point, because I think we maybe, I think we probably talked more about this on the first episode we did this like the because again, like you know, as an interesting kind of not post mortem, but you know, mid boredem and media res boredem about doing these. I do think and agree with you that just sit here and say, look, I think people are doing this with the best of intentions, because I think people have the best of intentions. Ninety nine percent of the time people are coming on here to share a story, that did something to them that they cannot explain, be it made them feel a certain way, made them experience something.

What have you? Right? I think we both agree, like people aren't coming on here to hoodwink us because like what does it get you? Like some Internet books, like fake Internet books, up vote like gives a shit, Like if that's something you care about, don't mean to take away from you, but like it literally has no bearing on reality. There's nothing you can do with up votes on Reddit, so that will they make it a viable currency?

Okay? But but my point being to lie on here would be for what purpose? I have yet to really synthesize, where like just see what people would respect, to see how big it gets, to see if people take it seriously? Right, But I don't know, But like that feels more like someone like myself or Jess or yourself who has an idea and is like, could we do something with this past this? Would this be something that people would resonate with.

Let's go on here and do like a mock version of that and see what Like that's what I would do, But like that's I don't think anybody's going on But it's so much easier to just write two paragraphs right out of right. But here we are again, once again in our slash paranormal with again I think for me a place on the Internet that I go to just for reading together, but to genuinely look at people and see warts and all without their face kind of what they genuinely are experiencing out in the world. Because I occupy a very narrow minute piece of space on this planet, as do you, and we can't be everywhere all at once. But thanks to things like the Internet, it democratizes our ability to be everywhere, all at once, at least as much as we want or can be.

So all right, I got a good one for you. This one is by user beautiful Unit eight zero eight five, which already I think this sets us up really well. I mean his name might as well be big forty two beautiful Unit. I will, I will say, look at their other posts and it's like r slash men gone wilds OOHK makes sense now, I mean, according to their first sentence, they're female. So I'm going you didn't expect that, Okay, Nope, now you're on a whole other side.

Complain. Man. If that's the case, I'm even more intriguing. Frankly, okay, I think you're going to be really intrigued based off of the title alone. I want her raw reaction to this type to the you want my raw reaction to someone's user names beautiful unit?

No, I want it for the title. The title is ghost smacked my ass? Yeah? Og was it? Wait?

Is it? Gout the close to mark? Okay? Go a smacked by? Like wow, it really reads like a clickbit YouTube video, and I'm here for it.

I mean, hey, you know what, get somebody to if you're not gonna if you're not going to go towards drugs and alcohol, sex is the third option. I will say that this one, of course, has at least four hundred and fifty uplotes. Who would have guessed, I thought you're gonna, say, four hundred and twenty or six hundred and ninety from nineteen days ago. Four hundred and fifty is not bad. That's pretty good.

Yeah, that's pretty good. All right, all right, all right. It's with the time sleep paralysis, which I just wanted to sometimes you can add the flare this one right right right, sleep paralysis Okay, okay, okay, about five years ago, I parentheses then twenty six female and parentheses, was asleep in bed with my then boyfriend. It was summer and hot as ever, so I was sleeping naked with no blankets. At about one AM, I woke up, real is this Maria already?

My my naked glistening body was was was was was? It was silhouettes like a beautiful unit. Fuck again, my beautiful body was being cast asunder by the moonlight through my windows. And I didn't have blinds, I only had linen drapes. I had a feeling, you'd really like, I'm resonant.

I'm resonating with this one a lot. Okay, okay, okay, I see that. At about one a m. I woke up to the distinct feeling of someone smacking my butt hard. Wow, this is one.

This is one of the bee facets of sleep paralysis. We were just not aware. I woke up and the shadow Man was standing over my bed and he was just grabbing a handful of my ass and just squeezing to death like it was a fucking stress ball balls he was. I mean, come on, okay, I want I'm not even halfway through thee that iea how much? How much further can we go is the question that I'm wondering now you'll have to see.

Okay, not only did the feeling of it wake me up, but the loud smack sound did too. I was absolutely distraught. I've had many paranormal experiences, been looking ever physical, and was completely caught off guard and terrified. I had an ass smacking, and I know what it sounds like when my cheeks are clamped. I like there's mercy, Like I know the sound of my ass.

This is not the most you've ever interrupted this story. It's because this is like the this is the wildest story you've ever read. Every sentence is just why. I can hear them smacking, and I know the sound. It's like it kind of gets sad after this.

Okay my expectations, Okay, okay, okay. My boyfriend searched around the room for some logical explanation while I sobbed and tried to explain what happened, but he couldn't find anything to explain it. He had also been woken up by the loud smack the ghost who slapped your ass? Oh? Oh, I mean why did they did they mention their boyfriend was in bed with them?

I mean it. Yeah, they were both woken up by said smack. Right, But they did they say at the beginning, I was in bed with my boyfriend. Yeah, I was sleep in bed with my life. Okay, okay, okay, I already know what your feelings about this, right, Okay, that's fair.

Once I calmed down enough, we went back to sleep with the lights on. Shortly after falling asleep, I woke up lying on my side in full sleeper in a full sleep paralysis episode. I couldn't move or speak, and I could hear a man's voice, not my boyfriend, laughing behind me. This went on for a bit as I tried to scream or move, and finally I was able to roll over and saw nothing. I didn't go back to sleep that night.

The next day I called my grandmother, who was a medium, and asked her if she could sense anything in my home. I told her nothing about my experience from the night before. She told me that there was a man in my house who would sit in the living room and wait for me to come home. She said that he was mostly harmless but enjoyed seeing me scared and would get a good laugh out of frightening me. A couple of days later, I worked up the courage to get into my empty house that he wasn't welcome and had to leave and wasn't and wasn't allowed to scare me anymore.

I had no more experiences with him after that. I also just want to highlight the first comment I read scrolling down. One of the comments have got to be fuck of gold? Do you have photo evidence? Asking for a ghost front?

I need a sauce please, asking for a ghost friend? Really? God? Asking for asking for a friend? God?

I like that. You know what? My favorite parts of this story couple. Hey, I sleep in the nude only when I naked though, so first out there, like, there's only one way a ghost would be able to clap these cheeks if there was no clothes on them. That's the only way would make this sense.

That's also, I mean, that is truly the greatest part of this story. I know what the sound of my ass being slapped. I just I want to continue going through some of these comments because it starts going into personal experiences. Short, I had a ghost rub and grab my butt before, and it was when it was dark in my room. I also had the same experience with sleep paralysis, except it was a woman who laughed like a witch than we have.

I believe you. I lived in a house with a spirit that used to grab my butt, just gave it a little squeeze once I was like, hey, knock it off, and it stopped. You know what, though, like in reality, in reality, I do not doubt that this happened, because again I want more. Well, I bet there are because it's look, if a ghost can move a cup from one end of the county, can't it sexually assault you? I mean like, well, I mean, didn't Demi Levado say that she was having sex and ghosts or something?

Yes? I was actually was going to bring that up in a way where a celebrity can openly admit that they are being intimate with the paranormal. Was it Debu Lava or was it maybe Kesha? It was definitely Demi probably both. Neither of um responded to emails to be on this show to talk about the paranormal though that's all they want to do is talk about it.

Weird. I don't know, We're not We're not big enough, guys. We gotta get fs on this show. That's some credibility. But dem Levado and Kesha get this to one million, up, one million likes, two million shares.

Let's get Demi Levado on the I would love to have them on our show. I would I honestly, I would fucking love it. I would love every second of it. I would pick the ship out of their brain. I want to know what these experiences are.

I am still to know who's cool for the summer. If you get that, if you know, you know, but god, that is like that is a vine that is seared in my brain. You know exactly what I'm talking about? What excu what is your what's your take on this? Because you said, Michael, you agreed with me, like why can't it go sexually assault?

You affected with it? Is? I mean, it's not funny, but like it's not funny, but again, like the way she wrote it is objectively funny until she said but she was sobbing, which then I felt bad. But also the writer wrote this, so yeah, like you could have definitely not written it was naked. I was this.

It's like makes make sure she was painting a picture very with a very detailed brush. So I if we are to believe that ghosts are in fact real and can and can affect the human world. Why couldn't they smack an ass? I don't see why not. I fully, wholeheartedly don't see why not.

I I mean obviously, and you were you were hinting at this as a joke before we finished it, and that was the was it? The boyfriend? It was just like, oh my god, you heard that too. There's or flu like he did he realize that he hit a little too hard and had to like write it off because like that's what I'm assuming, right, that's I mean, that is exactly my thoughts. It's like, yo, I get it.

I'm married, you're in a relationship. We all get we all get a little turned on and sometimes you know whatever. But like you know, if you're gonna cop a feel on your significant other, whether asleep, and then we wake them up, they'll be like ghost, there's a ghost it. I wonder if that would work. You think that would be?

Who did you see the ghost? I just wear the hand print on my ass and just ask you for a ghost friend. That is just that is literally just someone being like I know where this is going. R slash sauce bro. Can I have some I'm just saying I will say if it ended there, but then she said one that they that he then kept the lights on, which to me is like that's some dedication to the It was a ghost bit like it's not just come on, come back to bed, I'll hug you and you'll be fine.

It was okay, babe, don't worry, I'll turn the lights on for the They have mentioned that their significant other smack them on the ass. If they did, though, wouldn't they like they're there? That is the question now now that we've opened this scenario where it's like the blayfriend did it? Uh? In this story, would this person not have been like it was my boyfriend.

My boyfriend smacks my ass, and so it could have been him, Like so I had him in detail? I mean they said they were naked, yeap, that is for context. Wouldn't that be for context too if it was going on. I'm saying this more in the In the maybe they never realized it and that's why they never said it. Maybe they never maybe it was happening late at night, only it never once crossed their mind that it could have been their boyfriend.

Well, and That's what I'm getting at is like, so to me, it doesn't sound like there's a precedent here, so that puts me more in the camp of I believe yes, and I would agree because of what she follows that then with which is the sleep paralysis, which, as you and I you know, both know, I've talked about it before. I have had many a sleep paralysis. Now. Usually my sleep paralysis is just physical in terms of like I can't move, it's difficult to breathe, I don't hallucinate, and like that's that's really that and I which is a big part of it for a lot of people. I know a lot of people definitely do hallucinate.

So I can't speak on that. I can only speak on you know, when people are like, oh, it feels like a demon is sitting on my chest like that one like Renaissance painting probably wasn't Renaissance. Don't come for me. I know, I actually know exactly what you're talking. I don't remember I was in art history.

I don't remember what period we're here. I mean, we're just people on the Internet who like to talk about people getting their ass is snacked like ghosts. I would argue that I'm an artist, but all right, I mean I'm an artist too. Don't artists like to talk about such subversive things. That's fair not being said.

When people are, you know, referring to the whole like it's a demon sitting on my chest, they'll hallucinate that because like it's difficult to breathe, and it's like, yes, it's difficult to breathe, and I felt that without hallucinating the right. So I like to put that aside. I don't want anybody to be like, well, that's a sign that it was paranormal if you can't breathe, Like for me, it feels like you are suffocating because you have no control over being able to take in a deep inhale, which sucks. And that's honestly for me, that's the scariest part, not the not being able to move, it's the feeling like you have no control over your breathing. Anyway, that being said, and then she follows that up with you know, the whole like hurd a man laughing.

I saw his face, and then U then saying that she talked to She said, her grandmother, her aunt, her grandmother is a medium. Yeah, her grandmother is a medium. And you, by the way, yeah, it's great to have what a great resource. You know, my grandma was a teacher and my grandfather was in in the navy. Like they weren't doing fucking ghost spirit box readings and shit, my god.

But for her without any context, to say, yes, there is a man in your house, like a male presence, and he enjoys tormenting you for fun, right like tormentable. That's a tormenting action, right, Like could be taken sexually, but I think it's sexual in an aggressive way, right like right, I mean that's the way it's being perceived because it's unwelcome. Well I would, yes, I would say it's you know, torturous torment for the sake that it is sexual assault. If they were living, breathing human, we would consider it's sexual assault. There's no sense, right, So I would say, let's let's rule out her boyfriend be doing the deed.

I just feel like we have we I would be remiss to not say it's a possibility. It's literally that thing from South Park where it's like there was a ghostion here. It's like, okay, dude, like we know it, like it's that like I don't think it was. And again, if if your boyfriend was the kind of guy to do that. I feel like you would say, hey, my boyfriend has a habit of smacking me a little too hard on my butt, just putting that out there.

And if they don't say that, and that is the case, and that is what happened, then we are operating without that piece of information. Fair. So I let's say that we're in the camp that fully believes that, you know, she was not smacked by her boyfriend. The way that I can roll out you know, it being a sleep phenomenon is because they both heard it. That for me is the big thing.

So if we can both you know, lie detector test, you know, both of them, strap them both in, get the full story. Like, that's pretty fucking believable to me. Yeah, I mean it's a sh it's I mean, we were talking about this before we are recording. But you know, shared experiences, you know, one person seeing something, okay, four people, ten people, twenty people. How many people have to see something for you to be like, yeah, something happened.

Two people is a lie. Two people is a lot of people for stuff like this. Many a time, it's I went out and did this, I saw this. It affected me and nobody else. I tell people after.

But it's, you know, a lot of these things, you have to take it on faith like anything else, Like anything else like this, one person's word is as good as the next. And as long as you have not given me a reason to not believe you, I'm gonna trust you. Because most people don't want to be perceived as a liar or lie because I mean, like you're just you imagine if you lied about something like this and then it got to the point where it was like Amityville or something else where, it's like you're making money and people are calling into question your story and you were lying, like it becomes a monster of a different kind, a real, living, breathing monster, as opposed to the monster in the room that never existed.

So I genuinely don't think most people want that. I think most people are cognizant enough to know that lying like about this stuff means you're gonna have to back it up somehow. And people are constantly aware at all, and people are always on edge, like you're, we're always on edge about these things. We're not just blindly believing people. We're even for us doing this weekly.

We're not just like yep, I believe everything, like right, that's not the way this is, and like that, I feel like again like I'm with you. I believe this person as kind of why all the story as this is, what's to say something like this is not possible, ghost apost to worse stuff. Frankly, like, yeah, I definitely do believe her. If this was a true experience that she had and her boyfriend did not commit the deed, I would say that, yes, this is paranormal to me. Yeah, that's that's what.

That's my two cents period. I gotta squirrel to the comments to see if anybody else call that out though what it being the boyfriend. I gotta know, I kind of surprised if they weren't. Oh somebody did. Somebody did say it.

Yeah, somebody did say that was your boyfriend. They're just very matter of fact that no filter, it was your boyfriend. Oh they didn't throw they didn't throw in dummy. Okay, so this person said that was your boyfriend. Somebody responded, not the original, but somebody responded saying if that were true, I assume the boyfriend would have fessed up when she started crying.

And the response is from the same person that wrote that was your boyfriend responded again, saying I wouldn't. The person who lies about the person who lies about a ghost smacking your ass is not going to fess up after you start crying because they lied about a ghost. They couldn't have come up with a better excuse, So they were like, it was a ghost, And it's like, how tell me another scenario where you could theoretically get away with it being a ghost doing something like it's like your dog ate your homework, but something even more unbelievable for more people, like do people actually believe that the dog ate your homework? No, So all of a sudden, you're going to ghost like whoa man? Like you're something people don't believe in doing something.

Come on, somebody else. I think I was thinking about this and I forgot, and I want to call this out because this was another like super quick theory that I had. Could the slack be a previous experience of sleep paralysis. Maybe the noise that woke both of you up was something from outside and your sleeping brain attached to physical feeling to it. I was thinking psychosomatic type things, So maybe they did both hear a sound and because she was sleeping, and she had.

She her it's very often that, like if you hear something you know, outside of your dream, especially like if you're not that deep and in sleep, that you're alarm that it'll show up within your dream in some way. And obviously we all know that, like dreams can feel very physical sometimes and that is a type of sleep phenomenon. But she said she felt it. She said she felt it. She said she felt it, and she said that they both heard it.

But again, it is possible to hallucinate a feeling, right, Oh yeah, I mean I'm like a like a phantom buzz of your phone in your pocket. It happens to me, all of them exactly, so it's not hard to set it. Honestly, could have been an external noise at her brain assigning a feeling to it. It could have been or or no. But they heard the noise.

I heard the noise. I will say that. Uh. The beautiful unit did respond saying interesting, I never considered this, but that was it. So hey, you know what, I feel like, this was a good one.

This was a very interesting one. It took it took us in an interesting direction, you know. As for as for as funny as it is because again I was laughing the whole time you were reading it, like it's just like again, it's not. It's it's funny only in as much as like what what it is, but like it's not because you're being interacted with by spirit against your will. But you write, like you said, you writing it an objectively funny way is not my fault.

That is on you. It was pretty funny. Yeah, it is on you one hundred percent that you wrote it in a way that would give us the chortles as it were. So somebody else called out the boyfriend, and the original poster did respond. So the person says, are you sug your boyfriend didn't spank you in his sleep, which to spank someone real hard in their sleep is pretty especially like getting on target impressive.

I like it. They were like, I have a very thick booty too. It's very thick, Like I'm a beautiful unit. They said they were a beautiful unit, and I would be inclined to believe them, because hey, you believe people on the internet, right, So oh p he responded, I him no. So they responded to, you know, are you sure it wasn't your boyfriend?

So she said I mean, it's definitely not beyond the realm of possibility. He wasn't much of a sleepwalker slash spanker, but who knows. You know, if your boyfriend's SPANHK, you're not folks. I mean, I'm just I'm really glad that other people have called it out though, because if nobody did, I would have been very disappointed. That's fair.

So, but yes, I had told I told you about this one very vaguely, as in, I have one that I think you'd really enjoy, and I've been teasing it for about a week. Did it live up to expectation? It did? It? Was?

It? Not only was it a good one, it was, as we say in the South, a good'n so wow, the goodness of goodness. So that was a good one. I an authentic good in it could It was one of those stories where again what it is is just so kind of innocuous, and then you kind of go down these avenues of what it could be and it takes you in some interesting spots because ultimately it's one person in their bedroom wherever the hell they are, having an interaction that they can't explain, and it's happening to people all the time, and there are plenty of people that don't even think to go on somewhere like this to share it, right, So you're so According to the Pompous four camera, which is just a great name, which was posted fifteen days ago, it was one hundred and sixty four up boats, the title is it's two forty am and things are getting weird, which I great title, like, I do love clickbait titles.

You've got You've hooked me, I'm hooked, or what's happened. I'm very cynical about the paranormal, but I'm posting here right now because I'm venting out my anxiety. I work night shift, I live with an old cat. I was doing some advance work for Monday, so I'm awake at my home office since ten pm last night, only notice the time when something dropped literally in front of me, a roll of wrapping paper which was neatly stored on top of the shelf. I thought it was just embalanced or something, not enough to spook me to how scared I am right now, so I just picked it up and placed it back on my shelf.

As I placed it on my shelf, my computer froze and I knew that because I was playing loud music and it just hanged midway. So I unplugged it and went to my kitchen a bit disturbed. That's when I saw my cat at the counter, hissing at something in the air. She's never done this before, not that I'm aware. At least, I felt fear.

I felt anxious enough that I grabbed her and dashed to my room, locking the door behind me. Right now, my cat is by my door and she's trying to peek underneath. I'm cowering in my bed and just anticipating something. I feel as if someone broke into my apartment, but I'm too scared to check. I heard more stuff falling from the office, but I'm not sure.

I feel like I'm hallucinating, but I think someone is outside, walking very quietly and very anxious. Right now, I don't know what to do. The last time I was as anxious was during high school, and the only thing I did then was to sleep it off. I'm trying to sleep it off right now, but my heart is pumping too fast and the coffee I just had an hour ago. I'm trying to sleep it off right now, but between my heart pumping and the coffee I just had an hour ago.

I don't think it will be anytime soon. Should I go and check? Should I stay put? If I hear something fall and shatter, I'm calling the police? Wow?

Right? Right? Not a fan god admit anytime anytime in animals and right, that's like, I'm glad that that was what you resonated, kick. I will say, very smart of them to grab their cat. And I mean, as much as I don't enjoy locking pets, especially cats in rooms, as you know, they don't usually like that.

If you are experiencing something like this, uh, the only way that you can guarantee that cat safety is to keep them within your vicinity where you can see them. I think that's the smartest move. And also now you won't be like if something else does fall because your cat was out there, that would only cause you more anxiety. So bringing the cat in I think was a was a very smart move. Also for comfort.

I mean I think that's probably why it was either a mix of I need to keep you safe and I also need you as my emotional support cat, right, which I get. But uh, you know, something falling off a shell, especially something like a roll of wrapping paper, like I would agree. I would just think like, oh, that was weird, But it's a roll of wrapping paper. Those things fucking move all the fucking time, right, sure, because they're not they're not wound. Well, they're light as fucked so like any like gust of wind right, Oh yeah, I'd totally agree.

But for their computer to freeze right around the same time to like cut to silence because they were listening to music right, that I would hate. I would hate. Yeah, it feels less, it feels less random timing when it happens in congruents with something else right at the same time. That is where you have to question more than a coincidence. But for your cat to then be hissing at something in the air when they never do that, I'm assuming she probably looked around, didn't see a bug, didn't say that.

I mean, I could only assume that, like she looked in the direction that the cat was hissing at least for a moment, because like my thought would be, maybe there was a bug on the wall or something. But I don't know, you own a cat, that cat's hiss the bugs no cats, So cat play with bugs and try to eat them. I will tell you though, like straight up, this kind of shit happens in our house for time to time, and old cat will be sitting at the base of our stairs, and our stairwell is enclosed stairwells, so there's not like it's like there's like you know, I can see down you walk up and then you're on the second level of our house. Our cats will sit at the bottom of the stairs and we'll be sitting in the kitchen.

One of us can like look to our left and see them sitting at the base of the stairs and they'll just be staring at something in in the stairwell. I've seen them do it, and it is terrifying because again it's not me saying, oh, animals see things that we don't. I genuinely believe that I mean, and it is the truth. I mean, maybe they're seeing something that we literally can't see, as in a small animal bug might something that they're hearing that we can't. Maybe that's what it is.

But they're looking up at like the height of someone standing on the landing. It's just creepy. And the dogs do it sometimes too. They'll get a wild hair and they'll go run and stand and look at something in a dark room, and it's just like, what the fuck are you doing? Even if this isn't intentionally scary, you're scaring the fucking shit out of me.

And like, again, that's what this is is sit your cat down, starting talking to can you stop fucking doing? It's not making me scared to live in my own house, but that's that feeling because again, a lot of these things, just like the one you told, like, our houses are our space of safety. This is a place where we are at our most vulnerable, but at our most I guess like a willing to be vulnerable is at home for a lot of us. And you know, if you live somewhere where you're in an unsafe space, obviously that's not the case. It's hard to get out of that, it's not easy, what have you.

But for a lot of us, our home is a safe space. And when you hear something like this, or something like this happens to you, it makes you question how safe you are in your own home. Oh yeah, and like your cat looking at something at the top of the stairs or sitting on the counter and hissing at something that is not something that is easy to shake off and I understand. I mean this person worked themselves up like oh for sure, which which let's be clear here, at some point when the dial has turned too much anything making a sound, yeah, fuck out, and this person is like sitting cowering, shaking in bed like caffeinated. Right, I'm on edge.

I get it, Like I've been there. What would you do though, if not only were your cats like looking up at the staircase, but they were hissing. I'm not see. That's the thing. See, that's the thing that they've never done, is they've never whatever it is, they've never interact.

We hang up tonight. Yeah, well but here but here is the funny thing though. So this is something that I've talked about. When my wife and I went to the Sally House right before the pandemic happened in twenty twenty. We went to the Sally House and we stayed over for a couple hours, and I why not haunted?

Yeah, but like that's like bad bad bad thought, bad energy. What's bad energy? What's good energy? I don't know. Chick and touch itself to you're not careful, chicken.

Yeah, it's fair, that's I get it. I get it. All of that aside. We went to the visitor center and they had a gift shop, but not the visitors center for the Sally House, but like for the town because that's also where Amelia Earhart is from. So went to the visitor center and at the visitor center they had some like like things from the local college in Atchison, Kansas, and one of the I guess the college their mascot is the Black Cats, and so they had like a black cat stuffed animal, and Kate loves cats.

So we bought it and we took it home. And when we got our new cat, he like would he doesn't play with toys. He doesn't play with anything. He's a he's a playful but it doesn't like play with like toys like you know, cat toys. But for some reason both him and Elvira hated toy like no idea to the point where they would attack it.

They would grab it off the shelf. They would fucking glaw and scratch and go ape shit on and they wouldn't feilds a real cat. It didn't look like a real cat. It was like very stylized like it was not like a cat stuffed animal. It was like a stylized cartoony stuffed animal like it didn't look like a cat.

It looked like a stuffed animal like dead. Serious. I've never seen our cats fucking attack things like that before or since. And it's gone now, but it again, like it feels like it ties into this whole thing of animals can see things that we can't see, and they're feeling things that we can't feel. And you know what, this person worked themselves up.

But I think you can agree with me, they work themselves up for good reason, because this is this is a scary store. I I would react much of the same for sure. I think, honestly, what I would do in her situation is, especially if I, you know, lived alone, I would have all the lights on in the entire house. Like I would turn on all the lights and I would either be watching something that is like super distracting that gives me comfort without headphones but loudly. You know, I think I would be listening with noise canceling headphones because like my reason for that is because I would be so concerned then I'm like missing something like because things, people, things can sneak up on you if you're wearing noise canceling headbones.

I feel like that would have a whole layer of anxiety. This way, I can be attuned to my environment, but I'm still distracted. In worst case scenario, I would try to get on a call with friends. That's fair, That's what I would do in her situation. Please tell me there's an update of some sort.

Is she alive? Is she? Is she alive? Uh? No?

Some people you're asking, are you all right? Op? Are you still there? Op? Uh?

So, let me offer since you asked, I will offer you an update. Morning update. It's nine thirty am and I haven't slept that deep in a while. I'm not sure if this is related, but I dreamt of my late grandpa and I was crying because I was talking to him and telling him how much I missed him. He tells me the same things like when he was alive, from taking care of myself to visiting my grandmother once in a while.

I was really happy in my dream. When I woke up, I checked the calendar and realized it was his death anniversary yesterday. It's been eleven years now and I haven't visited his grave since the pandemic. I'm thinking of going there today. As for the office, A bunch of stuff did fall from the cabinet, a ring, light, a bag, some shoe.

I'm sorting out the same wrapping paper and the same old boxes with miscellaneous stuff. My cab is also sniffing around the mess before I cleaned it up. Laptop and wallet are still at my table, so I can safely assume it wasn't a break in. I checked the cabinet if it was not level or if the top shelf gave from too much weight. No, it was just dusty, along with a few bags and items that we're still in there.

So yeah, I mean, the rest is just asking about like I went and talked to my friend, I went and talked to my landlord, so like other things that don't necessarily pertain to it. So yeah, I'm guessing clearly something happened. They didn't see the things fall, but like, oh no, things end up on the ground when you live alone, and especially after you lock the cat in a separate room, right and the cat is still in that room when you wouldake up right, Oh oh no, if likes I mean, unless I think I heard things falling, like and then you find things like that that there was an earthquake. They didn't say anything about that, but I would I would assume they would say something like that. Maybe maybe it's like one of it could be one of those earthquakes that like you don't really feel, especially yeah, especially if like you were hyped up on caffeine.

Anything you'd probably just assume was like your heart. Yeah, yeah, could relate to why the cat was hissing. Maybe it just like I noticed the earthquake. I don't know if that's like a way cats would react to an earthquake, but maybe maybe I think you know, ultimately when when you say like, oh, yeah, okay, I don't know if people remember the days people pass away, and that's something that some people are going to remember and some people don't. So I can believe that this person for or didn't remember like that, Like some people might be like, oh, you don't remember, And it's like I forget my grandparents' birthdays.

They were bored. I that's like, I mean, my my grandparents are no longer with us, but when they were alive, I think they were still alive. I only remember the day my grandfather passed away because it was like three days after my birthday. Yes, oh, it's a whole thing. I will never it's not something I ever want to talk about on this show.

But I have a lot of weird like it was a weird thing that happened, and then it was weird. Like it's just weird and again unresolved. But at the same time, it's that same thing of like I remember, I remember, but I don't think about it. So I completely believe this, Like I don't remember it was that day, and I remember now it was that day, and you'll, you know what, maybe it was your grandfather. Maybe it was your grandfather just saying hey, I'm here.

And that's what I'm leaning towards now, Like, okay, so there's there's two ways that you could take this. It's either it was the grandfather the whole time, the cat just didn't recognize the grandfather. Maybe, as you know, I don't know how ghosts really present themselves to animals. Grandfather had been dead for eleven years, so like the cat may not have even known the ground. So you know, if the grandfather had entered, you know, the spirit of her grandfather had entered her home, it makes sense that the cat might hiss at this alleged stranger and then yeah, I don't see why I feel like I'd also knocked some shit off a shelf maybe like I don't know, like whatever I can do to make something known or for all we know, And this is something I've wondered too, For all we know, we don't really know whether or not that type of stuff is intentional, like, oh, we don't know if it's malicious either, like interpret like the way we're receiving the message may not be the way the message is being sent.

But like maybe you know it was out of you know, the grandfather's control when he showed up in her laptop or her computer froze, Like maybe that's just a side effective showing up. But the only other thing I can think of, like outside of like why she would then have like the dream about her grandfather and not realizing that it was the death day. This is something back in therapy I was told is that we tend to have trauma anniversaries and it's subconscious and like this is something where like you know, if every time around, like if every year around the same time, you just feel like absolute like garbage like that's it can often be traced back to an event, especially like in childhood, et cetera.

But it doesn't I could see it being that, like, subconsciously she knew it was her you know, grandfather's passing. Whether she remembered it or not is besides the point. And because of that, she had a dream about him, you know, And I oftentimes we dream about what our subconscious wants us to know, So I wantn't discount the fact that like that might honestly just be the coincidence of you know, weird weird timing, and she had a dream about it well also, and then everything energy being generated by her like or him or them? Right, Like what if it's like you said, subconsciously but subconsciously there, I don't know. That's a little bit of a stretch.

I don't know. I mean, like energy and energy out, bad energy being put out maybe affects the world around you, which is possible. So am either I'm in two camps here. I'm either it was her grandfather affecting her environment or it was some sort of weird passing spirit energy unrelated and then she just happened to have a dream about her grandfather. But either way, I think it's paranormal.

Well, I yeah, I don't think that there's any getting around what this is, which is something beyond our explanation. If you or I or anybody is sitting in your bedroom and you hear things falling in another room and you go into that room and you look up there and you see those things shouldn't have fallen, and yet here they are on the ground, there is nothing you can do to explain that short of having a way to go back to the moment in time when it happened. Because again, if the shelf's not fallen and there's nothing in the room and the things are on the ground, you've got it. You have maybe not paranormal, maybe not supernatural, but it's like you just said, unexplained. Oh yeah, And that's the first step in one of those two directions, because once we have something that's unexplained, we can start trying to attribute some sort of explanation to it, whatever that may be, be it paranormal, supernatural, or whatever.

But it's an unexplained phenomenon, that's for sure. Definitely, So whether it's just the ghost Grandpa or a demon or something else kind of one important frankly, because this for me, if you're sitting in your bedroom and you hear things falling off your shelves and you go in the room and you see it. But that's fucking scary, Like that's more than I've ever had interact with me. And what I had interact with me was a noise in the middle of the night and that scared me enough. I don't want to have to hear something in another room falling and go I don't want to get up now or move, like, don't really never gonna leave my room.

Ember you're good, please like whatever, take whatever you want. I will get scared if, like, you know, pressure changes in the room and like a door latches, or like I remember being younger and I heard like mice in the wall, but I didn't know it was mice in the wall, and so I just kept hearing like scratching and scuttling. That fucking freaked me out. Like if that's enough to freak me out. Houses settle.

They make noise. I mean it's a joke in movies like The Conjuring where it's like, well, it's just the pipes making noise, But that is thing, Like people say that because pipes knock, pipes make noise. Old houses creak and grown the house that I live in. If there's strong enough wind, I can hear the house making noise. It's his house was built in the last twenty years.

This is not unrealistic. But this is not This is not like, oh I heard a fucking eve, I heard the windows doing something. No, I heard shit fly off the ship. By okay, I'm getting out of here, like I'm out. Yeah, I'm just glad she's okay.

And honestly, I think visiting your grandfather is a good idea for multiple reasons. Like you should definitely go surround yourself with more love and light. That's it's nice. I mean a shield we got. Look, I know people have personal feelings about going and visiting people's grave sites, and some people don't do it because they're you know, processing it in their own way.

And some people overdo it and do it all the time, and it means almost effectively nothing. You go every day, all right, but like, yeah, like it's good to go every now and then, because again, it's an important part of life to kind of, you know, not make peace with death, but remind yourself that there is more going on than this. And that's part of it is they're on my further into of the journey than we are from the next step of this journey. It's nothing to be scared of. It shouldn't be.

I wouldn't hope so. But yet we as Americans have a very hard time talking about so Yeah, I think going there is one way of kind of helping overcome that kind of stigma that we as a culture with death and talking about death, you know, having effect look and having a funeral where everybody is sad sounds like such a dreag even if I were the dead one in the coffin. Yeah, you know, there's a lot of people that are like, yeah, I just want to throw a party, Like I only want like this music playlist. I want everybody to be joking and having fun. And I'm like, you know what, I haven't been so many funerals, which I think is also a privilege to say, right, but I will say that the services that I have gone to, we're only depressing.

Well, I mean again, it's expectation. Everybody needs to be sad, and it's like the energy should be positive because we're all here together, not like that's the thing. Like I'll tell you, like and you probably can like understand this, like it's just like a wedding. Weddings and funerals get people together in ways that they can't understand and anticipate. And you know what, my you know, my wedding with my wife was the last time many of those people will ever be in the same room together, the one and only time and the last time, and or if you want to look at it in a more fucked up way, that's the last time until I drop dead, if I'm still friends with them.

Yeah, right, And like it's it is. It's kind of like, it's kind of hard to reconcile that, And it's kind of hard to reconcile a lot of things about death, because yeah, I think people would feel better if they knew what happened after, But that's part of the process, is not is not knowing something I've told myself when I've had anxiety about it, which as a kid, like the I had a big phobia. I mean, like everybody's afraid of death, but like usually don't think about it as a child. I did something that I eventually told myself that help is that every single living every single living thing on this planet at some point has or will die. Things die, every single day.

People die every single day, and like, I don't know, I guess like if so many other people have gone through it and experienced it, it can't be so bad. That's sort of a one way that I've contextualized it for myself and helped rational like, uh, you know. It's also how I helped get over like my anxiety of driving. There are like millions upon billions of people that can drive. If everybody else can do it, I can't die, you know.

I think my way of looking at it as I've gotten older is I'm not afraid to die because I've now been in a scenario where that was, like what was going to happen if I didn't do what I did somehow? And again I still question what how if whatever I don't even you know, whatever like been close didn't happen, Like I just wanted to be quick if it happened. Yeah, if I can't control when it happens or I haven't, well, I've lived a good life and I'm old now, and now death comes tomorrow. I've had a good life, and I get one more day. I get one more day after I dropped dead tomorrow, I didn't get another day like I would like to get to that point, not be walking down the side of the street and a fucking tire comes off, somebody's car hits me in the back of the head and I die.

But here's the thing. If that happens, my hope is that I'm just fucking dead and it's not Oh, he's a big support for ten ten years like yeah, no, none, no, no, very final destination of you. But but that's But my point is you don't want to I don't want this to be like he got, you know, burned alive and he's sitting in the burn ward for a year and then we're like, he can't take it anymore. I just want it to be done like and that's fine, and you know what, whatever comes on the other side, it's got to be better than this because in a lot of ways, even though existing is fine and I'm glad that we're all alive and able to share in this existence together, this existence does suck. And a lot of the shit about this existence does suck, and it's a lot of stuff that nobody can control.

It's having to make money, not being able to enjoy life like we literally exist, to be unable to relax and enjoy ourselves and spend and the only people who can, or the people who are so fucking privileged that they waste it. Privilege is wasted on pieces of shit who go and fly around the world but complain about the rest of us not giving a shit about our carbon fucking foot like. Most of us will never get to enjoy life that way. So my hope is whatever the next thing is allows more of us to enjoy ourselves more of the time than not, because yes, I get to do what I love for a living, but so many fucking people don't, and so many people live in a life that is so awful and boring and miserable and banal that they hope that death is a fucking release.

And that's the fucking truth is I hope something is better on the other side because this, in a lot of ways, cannot be the grandest of them all. I can't. I'd like simple to you that we are are all spiritual beings having an earthly experience, agreed, and we chose to be here to know what it is like. That would I think that would be pretty cool. I'm more in the agnostic camp, but I think that would be pretty cool.

To better ourselves to learn more every time we come back. That's something about like the whole like heaven thing is a little too like open ended but also finite for me, I suppose, like in a weird way, like I I don't know, I was. I guess once you're once you'd be up in heaven. You don't really think about that stuff. But like as a human, I don't know something about just like existing like something forever in the same way always, even if it is a pleasurable experience.

I don't know. It sounds kind of weird and existential. I'd like to think that we're more than just human souls. But I also like to believe that ooh, heaven is a place on earth. Do you know what that's worth?

So I was going to say, you have any other stories you want to talk about your life? I want to. I was gonna say, heaven for me is a Saturday morning lying in bed with my wife. But I don't want to cry. Oh okay, lord, it's been a long day.

I'm sorry. I can see that. No, No, I'm would have to cup. I'm just anyway. I'm just saying it's hard.

It's hard enough content. I don't want to be. I mean, like, like you said, I don't want to be anywhere else, But at the same time, like I am thankful and very fortunate as you are, because there are so many people that aren't, and it is very hard to sit here as someone who has as many opportunities and just things in life going for to hope that everybody else who doesn't can get something at some point. And it's like, oh, it's terrible to think that it would be in depth, but it's a common shared experience that we all have to go through. So my hope is at least in that singular moment, it's okay, Like, man, this poster fucking just went for it.

Man, both of our posters did. They really did in different ways, but it's the same story, right, it's how does the other side interact with us? Yeah, because again, like take you know what, it'd be fucking weird to say, my grandfather died yesterday and he smacking my ass. But like there's a version of that story where you can make those two things congruous together and it's it's even worse though, yeah, or weird or like that was your fucking weird ass relationship or what have you? I don't want to.

I mean, Pat and your granddaughter on the ass. I don't know. I mean I I do have one other one if you want up to you. They said that, well, they said they were gonna give me a link in five minutes, so I don't want to push it. I see with that?

So we got enough content? Yeah, I mean we have an hour here, so that so, Emma, when it's not me trying not to hold back tears sitting here talking about death and you talking about ghosts smackery. Wow, what a juxtaposition that is. It's like it's like a peanut butter and pickle sandwich, but somehow the pickles are a movie hate. I hate that.

Yeah, everything. I also don't know what it means. But I don't be either. Where can people find you, Emma when you're not here co hosting this show? I'm always here?
