Wake Up Heavy is a weirding Way media podcast. We do get Welcome to Wake Up Heavy, the world's greatest horror movie podcast. On this episode, my weird dad and I will be talking about you should about the money. Hello, and welcome back to Wake of Heavy. This is Mark Bigley, your host, and joining me once again is my daughter Kleil.

I know we have as promised second episode on the World of twin Peaks, and we actually watched the next four episodes that weekend, like we said we hoped we would be able to do on the first episode, and we have even rewatched all of the first six episodes of twin Peaks the return to refresh our memories. Yeah, and I wanted to take some notes, some minor notes. We're not going to get real in depth in this stuff. Don't expect us to be trying to figure out all the theories. Yeah, no, theories, things like that.

This is clearly's first time watch, so everything's new to her. I'm it's clicking much better for me this time. I kind of mentioned that last episode. Yeah, things make a lot more sense than they did on my first watch, because it is very different, I think than even what I was expecting. I knew it would be more like Firewalk with Me, which it is, but I really didn't know we were going to be going to different cities and have just tons and tons and tons of other characters and stuff to kind of track, so it got very confusing.

Yeah, it's easier for me to follow this time. They're like all over the map and there's so many different characters, like truly. Way more and we don't know necessarily how they all connect. Although I am a little better with that too. They talk about people and you don't see them, so it's out of context and I'm like, who what Then I'll remember or I look at the cast and so anyway, we're into it again.

No promises on when we'll get to seven through twelve twelve, Yeah, but probably pretty quickly. We'll probably get this episode a week after the first one, so that's pretty fast for this show. Hey, Mark here breaking in to say we did record this pretty quickly. It took me forever to edit it so it didn't come out a week later, but pretty quickly for us. Enjoy the rest of the.

Episode for this semi annual, I don't even know. Yeah, whatever it is now you might get all four during the summer and then I'll see you next year or something. Yeah, let's talk about Twin Peaks the return. I'm not sure when I think I might have been. Mark Frost tweeted, gosh, it probably was maybe maybe twenty fourteen.

Oh my gosh, because I know that's when the show is set, so that it actually twenty five years later, yeah or what, because I don't know when they began production. I'm sure production took quite a while. But he tweeted the gum you like is coming back or whatever, which is a line from the show. So everybody's like, oh my god, there it's back. They're gonna do Twin Peaks.

They're gonna get us all these rumors and then again, don't remember when it became official, but I was like, holy moly, I can't believe this. Yeah, was super excited, and I'm sure it took at least a year for it to actually come out. Came out in twenty seventeen, supposedly takes place in twoenty fourteen. Yeah, the twenty five years later thing. That's how the first episode starts in the Red Room with Laura saying that to Coop, and then he is with the Fireman aka the Giant Giant who relays some info to him And I told you, And the reason I really know this is again because of red letter media.

Everything that he says is going to happen. Yeah, gotta remember. Not that you'll remember what everything he said, but. At least like to know it and stuff. Yeah, four point thirty was one of the clues, and Richard and Linda is the other clue that he tells me.

I think that Richard and Linda thing is the one I remember the most, just because they were names. And I was like, yeah, what that mean. You'll find out. It'll take a while, but you'll find out. Yeah.

So this being your first time watch, how do you with these first six episodes compare it to the original show and Firewalk with Me as far as you know tone and style, And it's. More similar to Firewalk with Me. I think it's more modern. I mean not that Firewalk with Me is. It's more like actually like Lynchian than I mean Twin Peaks is.

But like I would say, not as much as the return is. I've got a lot more weird stuff in it and odd people and such. Yeah, odd people, odd even odd direction and odd scenarios, character, what's the word I'm looking for? The way people act. Although there is some of that in Firewalk with Me and even the original show, the acting can seem a bit forced and almost quote unquote bad.

Yeah, it's like. Highly stylized, much more so than this show proper. It's kind of like I've used this parison in regards of the things the way Yrgos Lanthemos has people act, and you haven't really seen the severe ones like killing of a Sacred Deer or the Lobster, where the line readings are so incredibly odd you're like, what is going on? What's happening? I noticed that because I don't think she's a bad actress, but Tammy, the FBI agent, I definitely noticed the way she talks.

I'm like you, I think a lot of people accused her of being a bad actress. I think she necessarily is, but I definitely think. I mean, like, she obviously was really an actress. She's a singer, so she's obviously directed to walk in a certain way, which we keep fun at. It looked a little horse to me, but maybe her model walk.

Yeah, that Albert and him look at after when she walks away. Yeah, that was so funny. Jaye Gibtoo writes, it is very Lynchian. Yeah, I was really super happy to see that when we started watching it, like, oh okay, yeah, this really isn't nineties Twin Peaks. Yeah.

You know, I may have been disappointed by that with Firewalk with Me, but now at this point it's like, oh no, I love this. Yeah, it's come full circle in that universe at least, so it like works because it's in a little bit of Firewalk with Me and then it's all of the Return. And I just wanted to say I made the comment about the Deer Meadows stuff and the FBI stuff in Firewalk with Me not really pertaining to the Laura Palmer story, which is true. It doesn't. It doesn't pertain to her prequel story, but it definitely all pertains to what we see as the world of Twin Peaks, not necessarily the town of Twin Peaks, but the over world of Twin Peaks.

Philip Jeffries stuff, the Convenience Store, those characters in the convenience Store, and all that is very important to the return. All the blue Rose stuff Rose. It don't get any bluer. It didn't get any bluer. I don't know.

It's different, but I like it. But yeah, it's not as just like straight TV ish as og twin peaks for topics. And part of that is, like we've already mentioned the disparate places that we're in. We're in Buckhorn, South Dakota, We're in New York City, we're in Las Vegas, Argentina. Kind of they show Argentina where that yeah, black boxes they're sending signals to Argentina plays into the Philip Jeffries part of the story.

I don't even know if I caught on that. Evil Coop. We may hop around episode episode here and just talk about stuff. But Evil Coop had a relationship with Philip Jeffries. Yeah, apparently since he said that in the prison, he was like, yeah, I've been talking to him.

Albert admits to Gordon that he gave Coop some information, gave the okay for them to exchange information about an agent in Columbia who ended up being killed. So and then now supposedly Philip Jeffries is trying to get Ivil Coop killed or some I don't know. It's all a little bit confusing. Still, yeah, nothing's super clear yet. Well, I mean even in the first two episodes with the is it called the experiment the box thing, it does come back when you go back to Cooper and he falls through the box, but there's also still nothing.

Like going back to that, which you know, we'll probably hop back and forth here, but that whole thing of what is this kid doing in this room with all these cameras that are focused on this glass box that has a portal to that not a port well, it is a portal, but it also has an opening like a port hole. Oh yeah, to the outside. What's this all about? And then there's a box on the outside I think too, that's what Yeah, Cooper flows. On top of it.

What was going through? Coming from the original show and even fire Walk with Me, you're like, what the hell is this? What is this kid doing? Who are you? And that gets solved pretty quickly on that first episode, and this probably becomes clearer later on, But as far as I can tell, that was set up by Evil Coop to trap Coop trying to come in, or it has something to do with the passage from yeah, the Black Lodge back to our world I think so, or back to the Twin Peaks World, I should say.

Yeah, so stuff like that was really confusing, and where is this going? And it takes some patients to watch this show, especially the first time, and so I was constantly telling myself the first time your mom and I watched it, be patient. Yeah, in particular with Dale Cooper. Everybody wants Dale Cooper back. You have to be.

Patient, e I love, I was selling mom. I was like, I can see why people will probably be like annoyed by the like Dougie Dale plot. What I think it's I'm having so much fun. He's so stupid and silly. Yeah, I'm enjoying it much more now because I know it's still gonna be a while.

Yeah, and everything about it is fun. I think I was annoyed, but really trying to tell myself back then not to be so annoyed with Dougie. He's not Dougie Jones. He is Come, He's Cooper. He's not even in Dougie Jones's body.

No, it's just him. It's true to him. They look the same. Yeah, because of what evil Coop did to mess up the transfer when he came, and plus he's been in the Black Lodge for twenty five years. So when he comes back, he doesn't have his memory.

Yeah, that's really all it is. And he's an infant and he's relearning everything. I love it. It's so fun. He's so stupid.

It is very endearing. Actually, yeah, it's cute. We were I mean, we just rewatched the sixth episode in that whole section where Janey's getting mad about him about jade and he's just like Jadeja with the little happy smiles. So funny, and his son seems to like him, probably more like his real dad. And Doggie Jones is gone.

I mean he was a tulpa, just there for this. Reason they say, manufactured created. Yeah, once he goes back to the Black Lodge, that's it. No more Doggie Jones, no more. Head never really existed or he was created apparently by Evil Coop.

However they do that kind of see that later on. Yeah, so didn't exist pre nineteen eighty nine, which is when the original you know showed is supposed to take place. Yeah, he's not a real person, but he made a life for himself somehow. Yeah, he got a wife, he had a kid, so you know, he just doing so also and apparently was I pointed out that he was a little key, like maybe a little pervert because he was obviously seeing Jade. And then when Dale has to pee at the office, his coworker says something about now you can kiss me, and.

I was just like, huh, he's a womanizer and all that. Jane E doesn't seem too terribly surprised about the jane thing, and she doesn't kick him out or anything. No, she goes and fixes it in a way. Well she fixes the money thing. Yeah, but she's still doing that because of him.

Obviously has episodes because she says, you're having one of your episodes again. So this creation, this Tulpa isn't like he's not perfect always there. Yeah, and who knows, maybe he had instances where he was kind of going back to the Black Lodge or whatever. Who knows. I'm sure there are fan theories out there about it and things in the show that people point to.

There're probably one hundred that suggests that, But I don't know. I love David Lynn's stuff and I love Twin Peaks, but I'm not going down all these rabbit holes. But yeah, especially now nowadays, when it's just Internet people saying the stupidest. Stuff and they're trying to be like smart and stuff and you're just like shut up. Also, everything has to be answered.

I don't really care if everything is answered. I like stupid Dale, And I thought the three seconds of screen time Dougie Real Dougie had was fun anyways, because his hair was weird. Yeah, so his hair was weird. He's overweight, he's big, yeah, tingly. Yeah, his arm doesn't work or something.

Which is I'm sure part of the transfer happening. Yeah, and he has the ring from Walk with Me. Yeah, he has the little green ring. That obviously Mike takes. But right.

Yeah. So one of the things I wanted to do while we were rewatching this was to see who comes back during every episode because I have it in my head or had it in my head. You know, it takes forever to get to Twin Peaks in the show, and it takes forever for Dale Cooper to regain his senses. It takes forever for this. It takes forever for that.

But really, no, at least not the Twin Peaks thing, because we see twin Peaks very quickly in that first episode, and the first character that we see is doctor Jacoby, of all people, yeah, I know, great briefly getting his shovels and his shipment. Yeah, you know, we switch back and forth so much between cities and scenarios that you don't know, what, why is doctor Jacoby out living in a trailer now, and why is he getting a shipment of shovels. It'll all start to slowly make sense to keep watching. But you know that's sort of the first impressions on first watch. Oh there's somebody I know, and then they're gone again.

What the heck were they doing? That was weird? Yeah, So the people that show up that are from the original series in episode one are the Fireman aka the Giant Coop in the Black Lodge. Yeah, Doctor Jacoby, Ben and Jerry Horn show up pretty. Quickly, being weird as usual.

Lucy is seen very quickly. The log Lady has an appearance on the first episode, and Hawk and Andy so quite a few And this is the first episode, so we see twin peaks the town quite a bit. And the log Lady I wanted to bring up because she was like actively dying dying Yeah, with her connection with David Lynch was like I'm there, I'll do this. It's all on the phone, but she's there and she's instrumental. Yeah, and given a hawk information and stuff.

There is like a shot or two of her, but yeah, most of it's on the phone. I mean her acting. She's done on the phone. She is on the phone. Yeahs not moving around, she's not in the diner, she's not in the city, she's not talking to people.

You're only ever going to see her on the phone. Yeah, I don't mean she's you only hear her voice on the phone. And there is actually a character that you will see later on that is via zoom and thought is the only way that they could get that character back on the show because he was very ill. Yeah, I have no idea when that'll happen, but I remember it happening and going, oh yeah, he died shortly after the show. Well, I mean there's a wrapped and in memoriam thing just about every episode on the credits.

Unfortunately for Miguel Ferrer, for Katherine Coulson, there was a name in there that I wasn't familiar with. Yeah, I don't I think I know what you're talking about. I don't know who it was either. Probably somebody that worked on the show, either the original or this one or both. Yeah, hote, Sorry, Dougie, I didn't get one for you.

I didn't know if you'd be here today. You can have brains. The first episode is a lot of the I don't want to say extraneous, the extra stuff, the New York stuff, South Dakota. Are we in South Dakota in the first episode. I won't be able to remember that or not.

Yeah, we are. That's like when they yeah, is that when he goes to the house or whatever? It is, like I need these two people. Doppelganger Cooper, just call him Evil Coop. Evil Coop.

Does he have a name at all? Or is it literally just I don't think so. The doppelganger. He goes by Cooper. Interesting, he's supposed to be He is supposed to be Cooper, So I don't think he uses a name or anything.

Yeah, like a pseudonym. Okay, Yeah, he goes and picks up Ray and Daria. Yeah, and they're all in South Dakota, right, Yeah, because other stuff happens in South Dakota too, with the discovery of the body, that whole thing and that's the thing too, And that's why I played you that clip earlier about David Lynch getting ticked off when they tell him that he needs to hurry or whatever. Yeah, and he gets mad, which like, yeah, me too, turning down? What is this?

Everybody really? Run? I'm serious, fucking a man and drive me nuts. Who gives a fucking shit how long a scene is? Because we've got eighteen episodes, roughly an hour each episode.

The credits run in total three minutes, so about a minute and a half at intro and a minute and a half outro, and the outro is always not always, but a lot of times it's the live performances that happen. So you've got about fifty five ish plus minutes of show every time. There are a lot of scenes that really take their time. Yeah, and I love it. Yeah the whole Uh.

I don't know what her name is, but that lady that doesn't remember it or know anything at the apartment complex who just knows that the door is locked. It takes forever, but it's fun because she's weird. It's not rushed. The show is not rushed. No, it takes its time.

And there are some scenes where you're like, why am I watching this person do this? For a good solid mint or two but I don't know that it's on purpose. I mean, it's how he wants the pacing to be, but I don't know if it's a commentary on how shows are done these days. Yeah, everything's rapid fire, and you know everything has to be explained, Oh my god, literally out loud by the characters about what's going on because watching and everybody's on their phones. The biggest pet feeve.

None of that is happening in this or will happen in this. A lot of the stuff with Dougie because he's so out of it, takes a long time, him getting into the casino after Jade drops him off, you know, all kinds of scenes. They're played at their fullest potential. Yeah, and you just have to go with it. But almost every time once the band starts playing at the roadhouse, I'm like, oh, that means the episodes of yeah, wow, that was fast.

Some things take their time. But the pacing of the show is great. It's really like everything is you're watching an hour long show. No. Yeah, even like you said, a lot of the Dougie Dale stuff, again, he's a baby.

He has to figure stuff out. There's so many scenes of him just like drinking coffee and waddling around. But the episodes, yeah, they work, especially on our rewatch I noticed that. I'm like, oh, the episode's already over. Not every episode has a band.

There's no band in the first episode, yeah, I noted. I think there was another one where there was also no band. But I kind of love that little motif throughout. Yeah, it's cool. It's fun that all.

These I don't even know. I know who a few of the performers are, and they'll be a pretty big name band in one of the episodes. It's all very similar music, and I don't know what that genre genre is. I have no idea. It's like, I mean, most of it's like indie, but like, I don't know what what else it would be.

Yeah, it reminds me of a little bit of cults or I don't know how to pronounce your name, Laky Lee. Yeah, her type of ethereal. New romantic, yeah, which I don't even know if that's a genre, but that's what I call it. Yeah, No, I know exactly what you're talking about. It's kind of got a fifties vibe to it.

So a lot of the music feels like that to me. So far other than the ones that were like the Everly Brothers, the kind of twenty country one which is still kind of new romanticism, I guess as well. Yeah, in a way. The only other song that I can think of which wasn't a band song at the end, it's that I think in the verse scene of Evil Coop, that slowed down version of that song that plays with the like it's pretty loud, which I think in the credits it's called the David Lynch remix of it. That's not like the other songs that play, but that's like the only one that's not this genre.

That's diegetic music. That's not Yeah, people performing at the roadhouse. Yeah, exactly, Mark meant non diegetic. So it's different either way. But yeah, I really like the little performances at the end.

It's fun. It would be a good soundtrack to have. I'm liking all the songs so far, and his one of his sons. I really like that instrumental song they're doing. Yeah, David Lynch's son, I should say it's in reference to him.

His son Riley is performs in the Roadhouse, not at the end, it's during there's something going on all that. Yeah, that's one of the actual scenes. Yeah, it's a cool little edition. It adds atmosphere. It's introducing one of our bad guy characters.

Jane Levy's in there. We've seen Matthew Lillard in episode two. He shows up. Maybe it's episode one. I think it's episode two because they find his prince, let's check.

They discover the body and his fingerprints in the room, the head and the body, which are from separate people. Yeah, clearly the head belongs to a local woman and the body is Major Briggs. Is Biggs, Yeah, which I. Haven't actually found out yet, but it's kind of obvious. Well yeah, they fiction.

Yeah, which is odd because a little later it's whichever episode Bobby appears in. He talks about how Cooper was the last one to see his dad before he died in a fire. But the body in that bed is not charred like at all. It's just decapitated. So that's a little sinister and spooky.

M h. Poor Major Briggs. I like him. They find Dougie's ring in his stomach for some reason. He's in very weird little connections.

His wedding ring, not the Twin Peaks. Ring that he was wearing yeah, not the Green Ring, Yeah, a little spooky. Who else have we seen as guest stars? Jane Adams, she's the corner, the funny corner. Yeah, she's her stand up comedy that she's doing the headline.

Pretty great stuff there. Baltasar Getty has worked with David lynchryfore had worked with David Lynchry four on Lost Highway. Trying to think of any other surprise people we've seen already. I mean, like Amanda Seifrid and Caleb Landry Joe is it Jones? He has two names, which I remember last recording, I was like, I think I know who Amanda Seifrid is playing, and my theory was right.

I thought she would probably be Shelley's daughter. She is, she is and then killed Landurie Jones is Steven which is her husband? Or are they just dating? I'm not sure. I don't know something I don't know.

He's weird though, gets berated by Mike. It's great. Yeah, so in episode two Mike not well, I should have mentioned one arm Mic in episode one, Yeah, because he is there. It's his Black Lodge version. All capital letters.

Mike and Mike twin peaks. Mike Bobby's friend Mike shows up, ever so briefly in episode two. Oh I have Laura, but yeah, also she was kind of I think, though not really episode one because that was a scene from the original twin. That's yeah, she does, and surely the actress playing her does show up. The arm played by a different character, the tree that he has evolved into.

He's awesome looking. Leland is in again his Black Lodge version of him. But ray Wise is back. Yeah, episode as well, and this is when Coop is supposed to go back, so his twenty five years are up. Evil Cooper has made this Tulpa and has plans or hopes that Coop goes into him as opposed to going back into his own body, which is what happens unfortunately.

Yeah, and we get some lovely nasty vomit out of Terrible and terrible. Yeah, Dougie does it too, and it's both disgusting. I totally forgot about that. I was kind of surprised when he started throwing up in that car. I was like, oh my god, Garmin Bosia.

Yeah, it's gross. It's just eat corn. And I think do they say oil, Well that's what I said, but I think they do say it's like an oily. It's disgusting looking. He is also making like excessive barf noise.

It's gross. Hurt my feelings. Or we were watching it for the first time, but I turned back and just was like frowning at you as like not appreciated. Cleo doesn't like vomiting movies. It doesn't bother me when I was a kid, but it doesn't bother me anymore.

I don't like it. Yeah, so Evil Coop's plan works, but he ends up in federal prison because of whatever's going on with the stuff that he vomited up because it made people sick. Yeah, so he is in prison and Gordon, oh, that's kind of getting ahead. That's the next episode. But because of that, Gordon and Albert go out to talk to him.

Yeah, we've got this whole thing with Matthew Lillard's character Bill Hastings. Yeah, supposedly has murdered this woman that they find the head of in the bed with Major Briggs his body. We leave him, but he will come back in. A while, all right, I mean, go figure, it's Matthew Lillard. But yeah, weird little storyline also, because is it.

I don't want to get ahead of myself. I know it is in like episode two when we get his wife just getting murked, she gets shot. Yeah. I think this is one of the things that I did not catch onto my first watch of the show. A lot of it.

I'm thinking, I don't know what's going on. I'm sure we'll get connected, and this one gets connected pretty quickly, but I just totally didn't catch it. Yeah, put it together. They're setting him up for some reason. Yeah, hastings Matthew Lillard's character because of Evil Coop.

He has this arranged. His wife has set up her husband to take the fall for this murder. And I'm not sure still why that is. Yeah, that's why Evil Coop shows up at our house and kills her so that she can't implicate him as being the person that's set this all up. Yeah, it definitely connects.

I don't know what Bill Hasting's connection is though, why he needed to be blamed for this murder, why this woman needed to be murdered. Yeah, and I have no recollection of why any of this is going on. I guess we'll see. I don't really I mean, like, the only idea I can maybe think of is the fact that his wife is obviously cheating on him with the lawyer, and maybe she was shry a poll, like a getting him out of the way type of thing. But it's a little funky.

How does Evil Cooper play into that? That doesn't really work with Coop. They're doing it on his behalf. Yeah, I don't really have an idea for that part yet, but yeah, it's connected. We shall see for more information.

We see Sarah Palmer for the first time. Yeah, so too as well, watching her violent very violent nature shows, and Shelley and James are both at the roadhouse. At the end of the episode where we're just chilling out, the Chromatics play Yeah. Which I know I've heard them before watching this. Mam has played some of their stuff.

I've just heard their stuff randomly, I think. But they're cool. Yeah, it's a good song. And Coop is I think between at the end of episode two and the beginning of episode three is during his free fall with the Reaction, Yes, I ends up in that way station. I don't know what that place is, the purpolotion.

Yeah, the weird little apartment basically in. It where ron At Flaski is all the American Girl or something like that, and the credits. Well interesting, okay, because I remember when we watched it, I was like, that looks like her. Is it supposed to be her? The credit thing is the same actress.

It's the same actress. Also the other lady that's there with no eyes or flesh over her eyes. She's an interesting little character. Her way of talking is strange. And then she gets yeat it off the top of that structure.

Bye. And so Coop comes back, but he's all messed up. Yeah, they're dead, They're all messed up. Everybody tries to help him. He ends a Jade drops him off at the casino.

He wins all this money. Jake give two rights, Jake give two rights. And then and then gets back home. And it's nice that people are willing to help this poor man who seems to be suffering from brain damage. Yeah, that was my first thing.

I was like, why is no one like I mean, she talks about it a little later in one of these episodes, but like, why is JD not immediately just like I know she says he's having another one of his episodes, but still like, take him to the hospital, girl, like he was gone for three days. She does plan later on to take him to the doctor. Yes, she does, which is what I would saying, but I would have been like, dude, you need help now. So in episode three, I already sort of spoiled this, but Albert and Gordon show up. They get the call that Dale Cooper is back.

Yeah, because the prints that they run for Evil Coop are going to match Dale Cooper's and all FBI agents have their fingerprints done so. Which no, I don't remember if this is episode three, but we do see some stuff about the fingerprints too, that. They're Yeah, Tammy's inspecting them, but I'm not sure what she sees that causes her to me. They looked there's kind of a close up on one or I guess both of them Coops and then Evil Coops, and they look maybe inversed flipped. I was looking.

I was watching the screen trying to figure out what is she noticing, but I didn't catch it. Yeah. Also her lovely picture she has of Cooper in the Red Room. Yeah, in the red room that I don't know, maybe Mike one armed man or the man from another place took I guess. Sure, someone's probably my He's so nice.

And I had just seen before we watched episode three or yeah, before we watch that one again, I had just seen something come across my feed on Instagram that relayed to the numbers on the electrical outlet that he goes through in that way station. Yeah, and so they were important. It was three and fifteen, So just keep that in mind. It's fifteen in the first shot of it, and then it goes to three. They'll keep it in mind.

The third episode, Yeah, which is where he comes back. So something else is going to happen on episode fifteen. Oh my goodness. Yeah, wow, what else happens in episode three? One one nine one one nine one one nine one one nine.

Oh yeah. We were very curious about this, and also, just like her generally, the character and actress, the mom of the little kid that's in the neighborhood, the model neighborhood that Dougie and Jade like to visit. She gives you a one one nine. We were like, what does this mean? And you even said, well, it's the reverse of nine to one ones.

So and I looked it up and that's basically what Mark Frost said. People that have a toe in the other world tend to talk backwards. Yep. I don't know. I don't know if she comes back later on, I don't remember.

And then I said to you, this is totally off topic, folks. But as I was looking that up and saw who the actress was, I'm like, wait a minute, I saw a movie that she had made, and I'm like, oh no, I just started following this gal on Instagram because she does these weird like performance art. Yeah, they're very cool and like surreal. I like, I took a look to their cool. The pictures that she does are very interesting.

That movie actually looks really cool, so I was quite shocked. Yeah, and it has some actors that we have discussed and such in it too. So yep, maybe we'll just curious, very curious. Yeah. Apparently, as we've already mentioned, Dougie gets up to a lot of shenanigans because like dozens of people are either trying to get money out of him or trying to kill him.

Yeah, the bomb that gets put under his car after he and Jade leave, What was this man up to? I don't know if that is part of Evil Coop's plan. Yeah, I don't know, it's just other bad guys or what. I don't think it's the people that he owes money to. No, I think those are different people, but they do.

I think it's the people that put the bomb in his car that like call the lady that's very anxious and does the black box thing, which obviously leads to something else that happens. Yeah. I don't know if that has to do with Coop. Maybe, but also why would he want to kill his tupa he made because it's his whole plan, So I don't really know. Well, I think once it's back.

Well, well, okay, so here's my theory, just off the top of my head, having thought about for two seconds while you're saying that kill the Tulpa and. There's no other he can't go anywhere. It's not going to affect him now because Coop is back, He's not the Tulpa. So if it's all planned out around this time when he's supposed to come back, Evil Cooper knows when this is going to happen. They all know at two fifty three.

Yeah, this is going to happen. So if they kill him after that, that would actually be killing the real Coop Cooper. Yeah, okay, yeah, I take that as good info. Yeah, I think it's connected. To the gal Lorraine who ends up getting killed by the short guy, and to the dark haired guy in the office.

They're all connected somehow, and I believe that's all connected to Evil Coop most likely part of his whatever he's got going on all across. The country is yeah, insane scheming. Again. People are probably going, yeah, of course this is all very obvious people if you've watched it fifty million times, gone through all these theories. But we're still trying to work it out in our heads.

Yeah, come on, guys, first watch for me. Well. One of the things that the log lady tells Hawk is that evidence is missing from Laura Palmer case. He needs to find it. It has something to do with Dale Cooper and he'll find it because of his heritage.

Kid, what should gets some fun scenes about the bunnies and such? Is it about the bunny? Is it about the bunny? It's not Sunny Lucy Ate, one of the chocolate bunnies, and that is in their original show. We saw that when we did that rewatch.

That comes to fruition pretty quickly. We didn't have to wait for it. Still don't know exactly what it is though, that he found. It being paper. It's three sheets of paper from a notepad or a I don't think it's from Laura's diary.

I was going to say, is it her diary? But I don't know. I don't think so, because why would it be in the bathroom. He does find it because he drops a well, they used to be called India head nickel. He drops a coin on the floor.

It's an Indian head nickel. And then he sees the nez Perse symbol on the apparently that's a company that makes I'm sure it's just for the show, but that makes stall doors doors bathrooms. And he finds something in the stall door. Yeah, he kind of, I don't know. The way he gets it out is a little scary, worry for his hand.

Some sharp metal there, Hawk, be careful, please be here for Hawk. And then the band that closes episode for is the Cactus Blossoms, which is, like I said, was very Everly Brothers Ish country twang ish. Yeah, I really liked it. Actually folky almost it's good. I liked it too.

And then when Albert and Gordon Cole go to meet quote unquote Cooper or talk to him. They also is I think this is before I want to talk about it because it's Denise we get in the third episode. Who I didn't write down. Darn it really. Smar Yes, I think, yeah, it's a third episode.

She's so kind of the one that directs them to They get the call that he's there, and then Gordon goes to meet with her and they talk about a bunch of different stuff. Gordon gives his famous line and when. You became Denise, I told all your colleagues, those clown comics to fix their hearts or die. That's so good, yeahs an Ally Yes, talks about Tammy and Denise being beautiful. It's a cute little scene.

I like it. It was fun, and I like that Denise is back. And it's fun to see David Dukenny back in that role. Yeah. Because this I'm trying to think, when did the X Files reboot revival happen?

Probably, I don't know. We'll have to look it up later for a. Similar time, if not before or after. So fun, little fun stuff. Happy that Denise is back.

So they go and interview Coop at some point. Again, might not be in this episode. People were not really sticking an episode here. Yeah, and realized pretty quickly that something is a miss And I love the voice modulation of because he doesn't talk that way and the rest of the episodes of You've seen that it's very low and slow and ominous and weird. Yeah, it's weird.

This is when he talks about Philip Jeffries, the mention of working with him, and you're just kind of like, huh, because. Philip Jefferies has disappeared. I mean, he disappears in fire Walk with Me and nobody knows where he's been. Full body vanishes, he's gone. And not too long after that, Coop kind of disappears.

Yeah, because Gordon Cole doesn't know what he's been up to. His excuse is that he's been. Undercover cover, which sure, I feel like somebody would know. From Alexandrea Virginia Stockton, californ I think about Lewis and his friend Clark, the first Caucasians to see this part of the world. Their footsteps have been the highways and byways, my days on the road.

Actually, the Denise stuff and going to talk to Koop happens in episode four. All right, we're way off on stuff. Who cares, We're just going with what comes into our minds. Yeah, yeah, so in episode four they make that travel on Episode four is also when we get to see Lucy and Andy's son who they had mentioned earlier, Wally Brando. Yes, this is great stuff.

Another it's not a cameo, but just another famous face that pops up. We've got to Sarah playing Wally Brando, dude who is basically doing Marlon Brando from the Wild One down to the costume and the motorcycle and. Very accurate voice. Yeah, it's great. It is one of those things that, man, if you're not up for the weird stuff that comes out of David's head, it's gonna boggle your mind.

But it's so much fun. Yeah, that's awesome. His little it kills me. It's like at the very end of his whole like speech, he does his hand movie where he just goes like out, it's so funny. It's so wide world of ours or whatever.

Yeah, what he's so weird. Chief Truman is like just standing there like okay. The whole time he looks so like. Yeah, obviously he knows this kid, because he is not happy about him wanting to see him, Like really, he knows what he's in for and is not surprised by it or anything else. So he wants out there talking about his shadow always with him.

Blah blah blah. It's just one of those Hey man, you've got eighteen hours to play with. Why not? Yeah? Literally, just at it, just to have Michael Sarah in like a rum brand of well.

And Lucy's kid was a big deal on the original show, right, I mean that was being pregnant lasted the whole basically and was a major plot point for her and Andy and Dick Tremaine and all that junk from the. Series, and the kid turned out super normal. Yeah. So we've talked a little bit about Dougie's family, but we have Naomi Watts playing. The names of these people are great.

Janie e his wife, and their son Sonny Jim. And what that has to do with anything, I have no idea. Again, I'm sure there are theories or maybe proven facts about the inspirations of those names. I have no idea. It's just kind of funny.

She says Sonny Jim every time she talks about her son, and her name is Janie Dashed. She that little e j D. E Jones and Sonny Jim Jones. That's great. I don't I don't know.

I don't know. Great, I'm sure there's a connection to something, maybe not. Maybe it's just maybe she's just weird. Maybe it's just weird stuff. She's fun, I thought the first time they showed her, I was like, Oh, she could be like annoying, but she's pretty fun for having to deal with Dale and such.

And Sonny chip is he's just cute. He likes his new. Dad does the thumbs up. You know something that we should mention the clues that kind of perk coop up, And that's one of them. He gets thumbs up a couple of times, and that sparks a memory.

Yeah. I made a little list of the ones that I could think of, which was like his keys from the Great Northern. Right, there's a scene where he's looking in the mirror and you kind of are like, is there something there? The thumbs up that Sunny Jim does to him, he does it back. And then a little later when he starts going to work there's a statue with the gun.

Right, he's very entranced by it. Also way later this is episode six, but the badge, Yeah, he loves it. Well, I think the mirror thing is oh and coffee. Yeah, coffee, of course, we get the great drinking the hot coffee bit. The mirror I think is a direct reference to him smashing his Okay, I mean that wasn't him, that was Evil Coop.

But I mean it could be him seeing his actual. Face to face two. But I thought it was a reference to Evil Coop. That's why I wrote that down. But yeah, that's true.

He could be just being like, oh, it looks so familiar. Yeah, so anything law enforcement related sparks some memory, badges, guns, case files. Yeah, I was gonna say he gets a little excited with the case files, which is what. They're referred to in law enforcement. Not so much maybe, or maybe it is the same in insurance.

Coffee, of course, And has he had pie yet? I don't think so. No, but he will. He just really likes his coffee. When she gives it to him at breakfast and he drinks it, it's super hot, and she gets about it him, he just goes.

Hi, Hi, he's got that pained expression again, which lasts too long. That's so good. But he knows he loves it, and so when he sees it again the next day, he goes after. It All of his work scenes are great. The drinking the coffee in the middle of the office, just like a baby.

It's so funny. The office stuff is good. His work on the case files, doing all those scribbles which end up meaning something. Yeah, I don't know. His boss gets it.

He's like, yeah, I think we find out what it is later on. I'm pretty sure. Yeah, because he makes a big deal about it because I don't remember. Yeah, he goes crazy. He's like, you mustn't talk about this with anyone else.

So I'm like, what did he like do? What did he write down? We'll find out. I'm sure. Oh yeah.

I love Dougie. He's great. Hello, all the you know stuff. Good stuff. I like the little old lady in the casino that flips him off.

She's so funny. I believe we see her again later. Oh awesome. I believe we do some stuff I kind of vaguely remember, and some I don't. I'm pretty sure we see her again.

I know we see Matthew Lillard because I already spoiled that for you. It's okay, I see that was the thing. It's like, I don't want to talk about stuff until we've watched it and I know where we are. Yeah, because I'm thinking about the show as a whole. I do that to remember what we've watched.

Especially with longer shows. I do that where I'm just like, yeah, this happens here. My friends are like, what are you talking about. I'm like, So in episode four, Bobby shows up, as you've kind of mentioned, and has his emotional scene, which yeah, I referred to last time we were talking about how we both liked Dana Ashbrook as an actor. Yeah, and so he walks in all the case files for Laura Palmer spread out in her prom picture and it hits him.

Yeah. I really liked that scene. Yeah, it's a really good scene. Even if they had, like the characters had a weird relationship, it's a good scene for Bobby. Whatever their deal was, they work together when she died and traumatic thing.

For sure, it's a good scene. I also liked that he's, you know, after blowing a guy's head up and selling drugs. He's an officer. He is in law enforcement. He's straightened himself out at some point and is one of the deputies.

It doesn't well, I don't know this, you're sure, but it kind of doesn't seem like he's with Shelley anymore, which I'm a little sad about if that's actually true. They just there has been no scenes with them. But yeah, yeah, we've. Seen who Shelley is with. He's been in two different scenes.

He was in the roadhouse. Oh yeah, yeah, first episode. Oh sad. And I said on the on the last episode that James was looking at Shelley, but actually James was flirting with one of the girls that Shelley was. Yeah, one of her friends or whatever.

I mean, I do think he smiled at Shelley, but he was smiling more at this other. Yeah, got that. On the rewatch they talk about him. They're like, oh, is James staring at you again? Yeah?

And then what is it Shelley who calls him like really smart and cool or something. And not smart? She says, James is cool, He's always been cool. Okay, Yeah, and I think both. Of us are still like, nobody says anything about him being.

Smart except Laura. She says he's stupid. Well that's what I mean. No one's gonna say accuse him of being smart. Yeah, seriously, no.

Yeah, I'm kind of sad that they're probably not together, but whatever, it's fine. Yeah, and then all Revoir Simone is the band at the end of that. Yeah, which throwing that out, just throwing these little things out there people. I think moms seem to recognize. If not because from you guys watching it for the first time, or she knew the band as.

Well, I don't think it's from us watching the show. She probably knows nine years ago. Daughter. Well, hey man, I don't know, daughter, get out of here. Yeah.

So I do have noted on episode five that it is Lorraine, the woman that sends the messages to Argentina or Buenos Aires or whatever. I think she does send it to both. There might be black boxes over the world or whatever. Yeah, But she is trying to kill Dougie, yeah, and fails. So she ends up getting killed later on by the small man.

The box like just turns into this little like piece of metal or something. I don't know if it's a ball. It just looks like a scrap. And that obviously was probably not the best of news or was supposed to happen. So she gets Scott as well.

In the sixth episode, she gets taken out. Yeah, that's a weird little scene. I believe it's all connected to Evil Coop for whatever reason, Like we said, maybe it's to kill Cooper when he comes back. Yeah, and since he knows he's going to or Hope said he's going to come back as a s Douggie Jones, he has people out looking for him. Yeah.

I like the little scene of the guy killing her and after he's done killing her, his weapon whatever it is. Ice pick. It's a big old ice pick. Okay, it is an ice pick. I think it's because he has that cloth wrapped around it.

It just looked kind of weird to me. He bends it. He's just like, oh no, saddest killer ever. Oh no, I love those weird little additions. I think it's probably in one of the first three episodes where they're talking in like the police department in Las Vegas, and it just keeps cutting to the showgirls and one of them is like doing this weird movement with her hand, Like just those little random stuff.

It's so fun. You'll keep seeing them too, because the guys that beat up Brett Gelman are returning characters through all this. Oh okay, they get involved with Dougie and. That right, everybody's after Dougie. Yeah.

Well, you know, he won four hundred and twenty five thousand dollars at the casino. Following the little flickering image of the Red Room every the slot machines. He's like, what would you even call that? I was gonna say foresight, but that's not the words that I'm actually thinking of. But I don't know.

That's one of the things from the show that I don't understand, like why he got powers from the Red Room, but why is it leading him to play slot machines to win all this money. He didn't need four hundred and twenty five thousand dollars to get out of trouble with the bookies, so. It did sound like he was in debt, though not because of them, just with other gambling debt that I also think why Jenny was just like, oh, there's so much money here. Yeah, it could be maybe it was just helping him out. Yeah, I don't know.

I don't know. I don't know, no idea, no idea, just a fun maybe let's explain later on. We'll see. We'll see great casino scenes though, when he starts doing his. Hello so good, copying what other people are doing.

Yeah, he has new idea. Kind of he's forced gumpish in uh. Yeah almost in a way, just kind of stumbling. Through one of the creepy things that's happened so far in the series, and there'll be more creepy stuff. When Evil Coop goes back to his cell and yeah in the mirror and Bob's yeah, like a morph's morph's Oh man, it was done so well.

I don't even know if I caught that back when we first watched it, but I was. It's weird. Staring at himself so intently, and I'm like, oh man, that was done very subtly, but very well. He says, yeah, you're still with me. Yeah.

I talked about last time where it seems like Bob is Evil Coop the whole time. That to me kind of relates more to the we're together, not really possessed, but like sharing a I'm bad and I love being bad and it's because of you, but this is mainly me. But it's nice that you're still here for when I need help or whatever. Yeah, whatever it all. Means, they're like shared a little connection or whatever.

Yeah, it's not like, oh, I'm just Bob playing this character. No, he's his own evilness. Yes, yeah, that was interesting. I'm glad I caught that line this time. Also in the prison.

This might be with Bill, though not, I'm thinking of it. The weird guy that's there and then just fades out. He's in like all black or whatever. That was Bill Hastings. Yeah, okay, that's what I thought.

Yeah, and you were like, he's gonna come back, and I was like. Oh, yeah, you need to pay attention. That's why you got to watch the show, because you didn't see it the first time you watched it. No, I did not watch this because there's a guy in there. Weird, very strange, right, Evil Coop's face morphing is pretty creepy.

Also, when they finally show it what happens to the young guy and his little lady friend from the first episode, their heads are like split open, pretty gnarly looking. I mean you see that when the experiment is ravaging them, you get impressions of the damage. What's happening. Yeah, the still image of it, it's pretty brutal. Yeah, it looks gross.

A lot of the dead bodies and have been kind of out, like the even just Major Briggs in the Librarian, like it's gross looking under the blanket and stuff pretty gnarly. So in episode five, why do I have oh, you know what, the last mic I mentioned was probably one arm mic because I have Mike on episode five here, that's when he Bobby's friend Mike shows up. Yeah, we were jumping around because we were talking about. Well, I have Stephen my list of return characters twice, so I must have been talking about I feel like he was on earlier anyway, whatever, it doesn't matter, Yeah, okay, and then Norma gets her first appearance on episode five. Yeah, and Nadine.

I was going to say, Nadine's in this too. She's watching Jacoby's weird rant rants. It's just like conspiracy theorist oddities and his ad for his shovels, I mean, his gold shovels. What he's saying ain't wrong. Yeah.

Yeah, they're destroying the environment, yeah, for profit, in turn destroying our bodies for profit. Yeah. It's just funny that Jacoby's the messenger and Nadine is one of the people listening. It's like, oh, okay, these two of course, the two weird ones, and Nadine will come back, of course. Well, we've scrolled through some of the like you know, thumbnails for the episodes, and she's in like four of them.

It's just her curious to see what happens with her because she's so weird. We also get just a little like scene of Jade. She's getting her car washed or something, and the guy finds the Great Northern Key and she puts it in the mailbox because there's a little return address on the back of it. So, yeah, hopefully that gets there soon. It's just like a little clue for somebody.

Although sorry to get all cinema sins here, but that's not how that works. You need to You can't it and write the address on the envelope. There's no postage on it or anything. It's just no, you can't just drop it in there, especially because it's like a key. But it's okay, Yeah, that's fine, we're not going to worry about that.

She puts it in the mailbox. That's right there. At first, I was thinking, oh, this is the clue that they're waiting for back waiting peaks. I don't think it is. I think it's what Hawk found in the Yeah, I think it's.

Oh, it could be I don't know where. Oh no, we're not super far in yet, so and. I did just see on here that that Caleb Landry Jones is her husband. Okay, okay, that's what I thought. I was just maybe a little.

Doubtful, and they'll come back as well. You just never know. I don't know why I keep saying that, but well, I don't think Wally Brando comes back, just so you know, or Denise. A lot of the people that we've been shown make another appearance. And that's the episode where Riley Lynch's band or I don't even think that's his band.

I think was he just understanding that there was a song that one of Lynch's collaborators did and they perform it. Okay, I see that's cool, though. There's no like outro performance on that episode. Yeah, okay. Episode six, something very important to the show overall happens towards the end.

We finally get to see Diane. Yeah. I think everybody speculated prior to the show even starting, we're going to see Diane, and it's going to be Laura Dern. Yeah. I word had probably gotten out that she was on the show, and so I think everybody just naturally was like, she's got to be Diane.

Yeah, there's no way. Yeah, and when I watched the show originally, the original show, I never thought of Diane as an actual person. Yeah, I was trying to think. I was like, did I ever actually think he was talking to because he's recording it. It's not like he's on the phone.

He's recording it. So I don't know. If I ever was like, yeah, you know, and then you'd have to send them and I'm like, well, that doesn't make any sense. It's just just what he says when he's doing this. Yeah, like just like a personification or something to help him.

But yeah, I don't know. I don't really. No. I was trying to think if I ever put any thought into Diane, but I was like, I don't think so. So she's real.

She's a real person and worked for Coop, And so I put her in as a returning character because she was on the show almost every episode when he talks into it, and Heidi, the German waitress from the original show comes back in this episode miss. Giggles love her. That's such a funny edition. Yeah, she's just in the first episode and then the last one, and then she's back and. She was in Firewalk with me.

Like I said, Yes, that's true, at least the missing pieces, if not the actor. Probably just the missing I don't know, because they are in the diner in Firewalk with Me, so she was there. Apparently that makes sense. She's talking to that teacher school teachers. Mm hmmm.

I'm just giggling at every word she says. It's so great. That's her thing. Man, that's Mark janey E handles the bookies. That does very.

Well money too. Yeah, she's not taking any crap from anybody. Pays them what she pays them, which is below what they're asking, and that's just the end of it. They look so confused when she's berating them. It's so good.

He has another fun moment with Sunny Jim doing the clapper the clap on clap off light in his bedroom and clap more dougie stuff in this one. For this is when he's scribbling in the case files. Yeah. Like I said, hopefully that comes to fruition. Yeah, I'm very curious about that.

We do get uh, I don't remember his name from Firewalk with Me, the trailer park owner, Oh Carl, Carl, Okay, yeah, we do get a little seen of him. He goes on a little drive and ends up seeing a mom and son playing, and then the kid gets ran over. By Richard, one of our batties on the show. You don't know who he is yet. Nope, he's evil.

Yeah, he's not a good guy. He doesn't get any better during the rest of the show. Great, he does some awful stuff. Goodie, we see Carl and that's one of the things, like where is this trailer park? Is it a different one because that's in dear Meadows and fire walk with me?

Yeah, And I remember being like, Okay, I didn't realize how close they were apparently, because yeah, I don't know. I don't think they are. No, I think he's moved. I think he moved to Twin Peaks and opened up a new one there. He's probably true.

I remember being a little confused because he's just suddenly also there with that mom and son, and then he gets run over. The kid gets run over. Yes, not a little interesting edition. That's I think a commentary on our world these days. I think, Yes, horrible.

Things happen because people are selfish. Yep, Richard is a very selfish person. He's very weird, all right, Do anything else? I don't think so? No, because the episode just ends with Hawk finding the stuff in the stall.

I believe nothing else on episode six. And Sharon von Etton is the performer at the roadhouse on this episode. If you're keeping track like I am, ooks, all right, Well, we'll have to take a little bit of a break because Cleo and r Mom are going out of town for a couple of days. But I'm sure we'll get back to watching these pretty soon. Oh yeah, we won't be as quick a turnaround as this time, but we'll keep watching and as soon as we're done with the next six episodes, we'll do another recording.

Yeah, hopefully in a couple of weeks we'll have another one for you. Yeah, thanks for listening, and don't forget anything can happen when you wake up heavy. Fucking a man and drive me nuts. Who gives a fucking ship How long a scene is? I'm going down to see.

M MYSI sci Wow. This has just been such a pleasure. I'm such a lucky boy. I can't wait to go home.
